If it was a photobook that you previously had printed it, I believe it should be at the bottom of the page ("Past Orders) at:https://photos.google.com/u/0/photobooks

If you don't see it there, maybe you order it from a different Google Account.

If you only created it, but never printed it,Drafts are deleted after 90 days (see bottom of page) but I believe you receieve at least one warning email.

Is there any chance that you are using BOTH iCloud Photo Library and Google Photos simultaneously? If so, you need to be very careful about the settings you use and the process you follow. I am not an expert on this, but you might be able to glean some information from this thread.

Also, if there really is no way to solve this, will the photos taken on MY DEVICE be visible on other platforms.

So what I mean is if I take a photo on my device, on a google account, and it saved to google photos. Will that photo taken on MY DEVICE be visible on another device yet on the same account, or only on the device that the photo was taken on.

Maybe you are talking about Picasa Webalbums, because Picasa itself is a computerprogram for editing photos. But Picasaweb was closed in 2016 - so you did not have viewed for years.

Then you only can try to log-in with your old Hotmail-account (adress + password) on https://get.google.com/albumarchive

Maybe you will see back a few very old webalbums there and then you can download them one-by-one to your computer via the 3 dots. It will become zip-folders in the Downloads folder which have to be unzipped to get normal folders with pictures which can be moved to the main Pictures-folder.

Make sure that you are logged in (see your account on the Google Photos App 3 line menu). Also, check the Back up and sync setttings (On, correct account) - 3 line menu > Settings > Back up and sync.

Pay particular attention to the "Back up & sync" settings.

Also, don't use the Garbage Can to remove images from your phone (unless you want to permanently delete them everywhere) - Use "Free up space" to remove the local copy on uploaded images.

Because the local dataset and google photo dataset have a lot of overlap, I would like to be able to de-duplicate. Is there a software program out there that will review at the content level (not just the file name, but the actual photo?)

The only "structure" Google Photos knows are "Albums". You can download albums manually (3-dots > Download all) or use Takeout . Photos that are not in albums you made will download as dated albums. The ,json files contain some additional data about the photos. You find some general info about downloading methods in this link.

There are some de-duplicators found on the web. I only used Picasa3 for it. See for example this link:

It is possible that the Draft was something that you saved but did not realize, it should be at the same link (above).

If it has been longer than expected for a delivery you can try contacting Photobook Support.

So I just want to make sure I'm not going to come a cropper in the long run. I have thousands of photos and many albums. What I do at the moment is if I take a photo I want to keep I move it (+) to relevant album. Then delete from device. Then archive.... So far no problems but is this the won't thing to be doing ?

Answer:

This is just because you have a wrong idea about albums: they are meant to get easy accessible thematic collections, but not for keeping pictures. Because an album also can be shared temporarily and deleted after a month etc.

They don't contain self supporting copy files, but just references to your library.

So you don't need to archive (unless for a few images that you don't want to see in the normal stream) and you don't need to delete device-originals either.

But if you don't need these originals for other applications (like Whatsapp), you can use the free-up space option in the app every month, to clean-up phone memory.

And if you update your albums weekly with recent pictures, you don't need to remember anything.

If you were using Google Photos "Back up and sync" the images should be visible (when logged on to the same account) here:https://photos.google.com/u/0/

If you never configured the Back up and sync settings and (probably the way most people configure the settings) and connect to Wi-Fi, the photos won't have backed up.

"back up date" is not really relevant to Google Photos.

Those two little arrows means they are not backed up, possibly due to being in the trash at:>

If you have back up & sync on, photos and videos you delete will stay in your trash for 60 days.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
At the top left, tap Menu Trash .
Touch and hold the photo or video you want to recover.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
In your phone
Into the "Photos" section of the app.
Into any albums it was in.
If you have deleted the photos from the Trash, then I'm sorry but you can't retrieve them. This is why you receive a warning when you delete from the Trash. Deleting from the Trash is permanent.

Lastly, you could try an Android Data Recovery app that might be able to restore the files to from your phone. But I can't promise that it will work as they are all 3rd party apps.

Marlin, deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.
