The best way I've found to find all of your black & white pictures is to search for "monochrome" in the Google Photos search box. That will show you all of your black & white images (and probably others that are sepia or just predominantly one color).

To do this, you will have to do a few things :

At the top, tap the Menu

Settings > Backup & sync > turn off

Open the section for the folder and turn off each

After > tap the Menu

Settings > tap you account > menu

Select "— Remove active account". This will deactivate the application and connectivity with your account will no longer be.

Go to Photos via https://photos.google.com

> select from 200 to 500 files at a time: with an effort, tap on the first photo and lead a finger down, look at the top left of the number of selected photos> delete in Trash, and so you delete all the photos.

Then clear Trash.

But at the same time it is worth remembering that if you clear Trash, then all the files are permanently deleted without the possibility of recovery

I certainly understand the importance of being able to view photos. Please ensure that you're signed in to the right account on your device and check for the following things:

Are they in the trash: https://photos.google.com/trash.
If you suddenly lost your photos, they might have a different date. If a photo is added from a device with different date and time settings, the timestamp may be wrong. Learn how to change timestamps on photos.
- On your computer, open photos.google.com/search/_tra_. Check your recent photos.
- If it's not there, search for the photo using the right dates or keywords. At the top, type what you want to find, like "dogs", "New York City", or someone's name (if you've labeled your photos).
- If your search came up empty, try other keywords or search again in 3—5 days. It can take time for photos to be searchable.

You may also visit this help center article for more information on Finding missing photos.

I'd also recommend you look for your photos here, signing in with all your Google accounts if you have more than one:

I'll make use of the contact form, but since I uploaded all the files via the browser via Google Photos I doubt the people at Google Drive will be able to help.

I'll get back here, once I know more.

EDIT: Well for some reason all the files were in my Google Drive Trash. No clue why, but I got my photos back. :) My guess is with the last Google Photos iOS update the back-up and sync was suddenly turned on, by turning it off it somehow decided to move all the photos to my drive Trash.

So I guess thanks for pointing me towards Google Drive. :)

Good afternoon.

It sounds like you accidentally deleted your video file before it was actually backed up to Google Photos. If that's what happened, then unfortunately there is nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you get it back. Google can't help you to recover a video it never had in the first place.

Just because you can see a picture or video file inside the Photos app on your phone does not mean it has been backed up. You can always verify if a picture or video has been backed up by visiting the Google Photos website and looking for it there. If it's not visible on the website, then it hasn't been backed up yet.

You won't find that video in the Photos trash either. That's only for pictures or videos that are successfully backed up, then deleted later.

Also, if you had used the Google Photos app to delete the video, you would have been presented with a confirmation box popup alerting you in bold red letters that you are about to delete a file that has not yet been backed up. If you use your phone's stock gallery app to delete things, you won't see that kind of alert box.

It's nothing to do with age Maddy, I bet you have skills we would be clueless with.

Hover over the first photo until a circle appears, then click inside the circle
Click on the End key a couple of times until you get to the bottom or if you don't have an End key on your keyboard scroll down to the last photo
Press and hold the Shift key Then move the mouse until all the photos turn blue
Still pressing and holding the Shift key Select the last photo and they should now all be selected

I'm not sure why you think this? I do not have iCloud Photos enabled but I do have PhotoStream enabled on all my devices. And with the latest iOS it's still present in the settings. I take a picture with one phone and it shows up on my iPad, old phones, and Macbook. I import dSLR pics on my laptop and they show up on my iPhone and iPad. It's a lovely feature that I am very grateful for and use pretty much every day, it's incredibly convenient!

Reddy, deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.

Unfortunately, once Photos are deleted from trash there is no way to retrieve them back :(

having an issue with sharing album with my boyfriend(blecic.ivan@gmail.com).

I have tried to share the album several times but he never gets the email notification and it can't be found in his shared album.

Tried to share via link but it show us "Error 404, That's a error. The requested URL was not found on this server. That's all we know" - it's the same computer we are working on.

When sharing it shows who the album is shared with, a thumbnail of the person is shown, it only says B (like Blečić) although it was added to my contacts (blecic.ivan@gmail.com). He does not seem to recognize him in my contacts, not me in his.

Please help me share that album.

I took three videos at an event last night. I did not have wifi. I needed more space on my phone to take another video, so I opened Google Photos, saw that the videos were listed there so I proceeded to delete the videos from my phone (not from Google Photos). I was a little nervous doing this so I tried to share the videos before deleting them from my device storage, but it couldn't share without wifi. Anyway, when I checked later that night, the videos that had previously shown up in Google Photos were no longer there. I've checked Google Photos trash and every file on my phone, no luck. I can only assume that they didn't actually back up to google photos even though i saw them there before i deleted them from my device storage.

Sorry to say, but there is nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in the forum can do to help you get those videos back.

Just because you can see a picture or video in the Google Photos app does not mean it has been backed up. By default, videos are only backed up when there is a strong enough WiFi connection. Since you did not have a WiFi signal, those video files were not backed up to your account. That is also the reason you were unable to share them -- because Google Photos can't share content that hasn't been uploaded yet.

So, you deleted video files that hadn't been uploaded to your account. You won't find those videos in the Google Photos trash. Only pictures & videos that have been uploaded and then later deleted will end up in the trash.

If you had used the Google Photos app to delete those videos, you would have been presented with a confirmation popup box with bold red letters alerting you that you're about to delete a file that hasn't been backed up to your account.

I wish there was better news, but unfortunately Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.
