Google recommended me to synch my pictures to Google photos to freeup some space, once i synced the photos to google backup,the motion has been removed and when I download the pictures back to my device it still doesn't have its motion...can you please restore the motion on my phone or instruct me on what I can do to get it back. Could you please ensure if you're using the updated or latest version of Google Photos app?

Meanwhile, I'd suggest you try some of these basic troubleshooting steps:

1. Sign out from your Google account and sign in back.
2. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Photos updates. (Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > Google Photos app > Uninstall Updates > OK). As long as you have a strong Internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data), your Play Store app will update to the latest version within a few minutes.
3. Try clearing your app data which is the same as uninstalling and reinstalling the app. After you clear your data, sign in and turn "back up & sync" on again.Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).
a. Tap Apps.
b. Select Photos in the list.
c. Tap Clear data.
4. Restart your device.

We got our DVDs from Costco with a code, so that when you go to the Costco DVD website, you enter the code, and through Google Photos your video can be accessed online/digitally. We did this for numerous videos, and all except one worked. The one that did not work on Google Photos just has a blank grey cover and the title is there on Google Photos, and when you click on it, it says the album is empty. I tried typing in the code again on the Costco site, but it tells me the code has already been used. I asked Costco/YesVideo first if they could do anything, but they said to ask Google for help. I want to access this one video that did not work in uploading. How can I get this fixed?

I have all my videos in YesVideo from past years - called them a couple of weeks ago because the transfer to Google Photos kept failing.  They opened up a case number and said they would get back with me.  I warned then by April 5 their web site will be gone and so will my videos.  They promised they would get back with me in time. 
HOW do you get Yes Video support to SUPPORT US? 
I have now bought hard disks trying to save them myself because I don't trust them.  Disappointing.

Me too...  I picked up my videos from Costco, when to the 'costcodvd.com/googlephotos' and provided the 'S' code.  Initially, I was able to view the video but when I went back a few days later, there was nothing but a grey screen with the name of the video :(.  I called YesVideo and was referred to this website saying it was a Google issue.  What do we do now?

Are you able to get a copy of the photos and videos from Costco and upload them manually from a computer?
 
Please don't trust the cloud with your photos and videos. You should always have several copies in other places such as external drives.

Could you please confirm if you're trying to restore the videos from Google Photos? If yes, please check if the videos photos are present in the Trash of Google Photos and restore them through the below steps:
  • On your Android device, open the Google Photos app .
  • At the top left, tap Menu.
  • Click on Trash.
  • Touch and hold the photo or video you want to recover.
  • At the bottom, tap Restore. That photo or video will be restored to your Google Photos library and added back into any albums it was in.
But if you've already deleted them from the Trash from your Google Photos, there is no other way to restore them. 

That being said, if you would like to see this feature implemented in the future, I recommend leaving feedback about it through the following steps:
  • Open Google Photos.
  • Click on Menu.
  • Select Send feedback.
  • Click on Send.
The product team reviews the feedback regularly and uses it to better improve the product overtime.

I’m sorry, it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Google Photos Trash. However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.
 
In addition I recommend that you contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Just open the Google Drive https://support.google.com/drive/?hl=en&authuser=0#topic=14940&contact=1 contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.

    I have an issue.  I use google photos for iOS on my iPhone 7.  Software is fully up to date.  There are about 30 photos that google keeps trying to back up.  My photo library is about 20 GB's large, but Google kept attempting to back up these photos over cellular.  It used 70 GB of my cellular data and so far has cost me hundreds of dollars in overages.  The funny thing is that all of those overages happened over the course of a few days when I was away from home and so google was running 24 hours a day trying to back up these photos.  

    I'm upset.  I think others out there have the same issue.  I think this is google's fault since the application is constantly continuing the backup.  I think the app should throttle backups if they go to long (on cellular).

    I would like the following:

    1) An update to the app that controls looping backups
    2) About $150 from google to compensate me for the data overages I have had to pay
    3) An if those things don't happen, I seriously think there are plenty of users out there who have this same issue and perhaps someone point me towards if any class action litigation has happened, or if not perhaps it's time.  I think class action lawsuits are a no-go if you can not prove damages, but right here I can prove damages.  So, maybe just reply if you also have had a clear dollar impact of this issue.

        Full resolution that counts against your quota".  All the photos and videos that i synced/uploaded to Google drive have been reduced in size.  I only have the few original videos on my android phone.  An example is that one particular video, downloaded from google drive,  is 30secs long and 46mb in size. However, this video on my phone is actually 182mb.  Can anyone explain how this has happened to all my photos and videos when i have not touched the setting? Has this happened to anyone else? Any settings i could check or options to look at? Really really disappointed with this

        EDIT: the upload setting i described was when i was viewing google photo settings on my desktop pc. When i checked the same setting via my android phone i could see that it was set as "high quality free unlimited storage". It was always set as "original resolution". Absolutely no idea how this setting has changed.  Would google auto change this setting after i exceeded my storage limit? 

        How can the setting appear different on the desktop pc? Afterall, its the same profile.

        I certainly understand what you're going through. To narrow down the issue, please check the following settings on your device and computer:

        On your computer:
        1. Open photos.google.com/settings.
        2. Check if the upload size is set as high quality or original quality, as this is the upload size for photos and videos uploaded on the web only.
        On your Android phone or tablet:
        1. Open the Google Photos app .
        2. Sign in to your Google Account.
        3. At the top, tap Menu .
        4. Select Settings  Back up & sync.
        5. Tap Upload Size.
        6. check for High quality or Original quality. 
        Please know that, if you reach or exceed the free storage limit, you'll only be able to upload new photos and videos stored at High quality.

        Also, I'd suggest you visit the Google Drive Help Forum and post your question there. The experts there would be best to answer all the questions.

        If your new phone is an Android or iPhone, you should be able to download and install the Google Photos app. If you are experiencing problems doing this, I suggest you post in the Google Play Help Community and ask for assistance with installing the app. 
         
        I'm curious, however, about how you are seeing your pictures on your new phone if you are not using the Google Photos app. 
         
        Regardless, you can always view and download your pictures from the Google Photos website, even without the app.

        That's hopeless hélas because the Albumarchive has no trash and for reasons unknown Google was too stupid to secure the Blogger-album to make deletion impossible unless the blog itself was canceled.

        A couple days ago, I deleted several videos from my iPhone camera roll, as they had already been backed up to Google Photos. However, upon deleting the videos from my phone, they were also removed from my Google Photos account, without any action from me. Just up and disappeared, no longer appearing in the "Videos" folder or anything. I'm wondering how I (or someone at Support) can recover those videos, because they should not have been deleted/removed from my Google Photos in the first place.

        The way to "merge" two albums (add all photos from album 1 to album 2) is as follows:
        • In album 1 select all photos
        • Add them to album 2
        • Delete album 1

        Following is the text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos: 
         
        Restore photos & videos
        If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
        1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app Photos.
        2. At the top left, tap Menu Menu and then Trash Trash.
        3. Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
        4. At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
          • In your phone’s gallery app
          • In your Google Photos library
          • In any albums it was in
        If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
         
        Don't see the photo or video?
        If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
        • You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
        • You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
        • You permanently deleted it from your trash.
        • You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.

        Just check if the Cellular data backup for photos and videos option is turned ON. If yes, please turn off by following the below steps:
        1. Open the Google Photos app .
        2. At the top left, tap Menu .
        3. Select Settings > Back up & sync.
        4. Unselect or turn OFF the "Cellular data backup" for photos and videos.

        If your pictures were previously uploaded to Google Photos, you can view and download them from the Google Photos website or any device where you are signed in. 
         
        However, if your pictures were not previously uploaded to your account, then unfortunately there is nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you get them back. Google cannot help you recover files it never had in the first place.
