Incase, if you're referring to recover your photos deleted permanently from trash, unfortunately, there isn't any way to recover them.

 

However, still try checking the missing photos on Google Photos library. Incase, if you might have moved the photos to trash, it will not automatically removed from:

• Blogger
  
• YouTube
  
• Gmail
  
• Google+

If you don't find the photos, I'd recommend you look for your photos here, signing in with all your Google accounts if you have more than one:

• get.google.com/albumarchive
  
• drive.google.com (under Google Photos)
  
• other online photo or file storage services you use (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud).

I'd also recommend you contact the Google Drive support team as they can restore photos up to 21 days after deletion if the photos are available in the Google Drive. You can click the "Missing or deleted files" entry of the contact form and request a phone call or any other option that works for you.

I've read multiple posts about Google Photos skipping files during upload via browser. I have this problem also, but cannot find a solution.

I've tried to upload them via Google Chrome and the images and videos are not exceeding the upload limitations (photos smaller than 75MB or 10MP, videos smaller than 10GB). The file extensions are also supported by Google Photos.

Solutions tried:

- Cleared the browsers cache and cookies + restarted my laptop

- Tried with Microsoft Edge

I also experienced this in the past: a few (say not more than 5) photos were skipped for no obvious reason. They all uploaded when I tried again. 

Note that you can either upload only the skipped files, or upload the whole batch again: already uploaded files are not uploaded again. 

What happens when you try again ?

Unfortunately they are still skipped. I've tried multiple times, sometimes only uploading the skipped ones works. However it becomes cumbersome when you load 100 pictures and only 1 is skipped. It does not say which ones are skipped.

As said, you can also simply re-upload all 100. Only the skipped ones should be uploaded.

I've had the notification only once, for the other times it merely lowered the amount of uploaded pictures with no warning or whatsoever. (e.g. 170 photos were selected, notification says: 150 uploaded)

Yes i understand that. What I meant was that sometimes uploading the skipped ones worked. But that isn't a very efficient solution for me as sometimes out of the 100 only 1 is skipped.

I see that a video from Google Drive isn't sync to the Google Photos. Could you please try toggle the "Google Drive" option by following the below steps:

1. On your Android device, open the Google Photos app .
2. At the top, tap Menu  Settings.
3. Turn on Google Drive. 

Also, on web browser, try navigating to photos.google.com and then click on the menu icon in the upper left hand corner, then settings. From there, enable the Google Drive option to have your Google drive photos and videos appear in your google photos library. 

Just a heads up: If your account is through work, school, or other groups, you won't be able to turn this setting on. If you edit photos in Google Photos, those changes will not show in Google Drive.

This is a user to user forum. You can share your wishes directly with the Photos team by sending feedback. 

1. Go to photos.google.com.
2. At the top left, open the Menu , then select Send feedback.

Do not expect a reply or a change any time soon (if ever). It is more like voting and there are many features asked for much more frequently, but still not implemented. 

Google Drive has the possibility to share with specific users. When you use Backup & Sync the folders on your computer are mirrored in Google Drive. You can try to share one of these folders with a specific email address. I am not a B&S user, thus cannot check this. Please let us know whether it works.

Meanwhile, I'd suggest you try some of these basic troubleshooting steps on your device:

1. Sign out from your Google account and sign in back.
2. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Photos updates. (Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > Google Photos app > Uninstall Updates > OK). As long as you have a strong Internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data), your Play Store app will update to the latest version within a few minutes.
3. Try clearing your app data which is the same as uninstalling and reinstalling the app. After you clear your data, sign in and turn "back up & sync" on again.Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).

b. Select Photos in the list.

c. Tap Clear data.

4. Restart your device.

This option is not available anymore since July - don't understand why the option is still present in your Google Photos app on Android, because I don't see it anymore. My version is 4.25.0 etc. 

But in photos.google.com on laptop there is a new option under the UPLOAD-button for Drive.

One issue with that is if there are some previously uploaded photos in the batch they will not be visible by their upload date. Upload from computer makes up for that by allowing the full batch to be added to an album.

The photos can usually be re-synced by signing out and signing in again on the Android app.

1. tap the 3 bar menu at the top left of the photos page
2. tap your email address and select Remove active account
3. login again making sure you are using the same email you are using online
4. check that the Backup & sync settings are correct
5. wait until getting photos finishes, could take a while, please wait until it completes

Thank you very much for your reply!

I am syncing the photos that I take with my Google Pixel with Google Photos. That way, I always have the pictures backed up in the cloud, and can look at them on my computer instantly as well.

Next to this, I am using Google Drive for my projects. I have 'Backup and sync' installed on my laptop so that it syncs the specified folders I want to Google Drive.

I do not have the need to sync the pictures I took with my phone in Google Photos since I like to keep my projects separate from my everyday pictures. This is why I disabled "sync from Google Photos to Google Drive". 

However, sometimes I do take pictures that I want to use for my projects. In that case, I download the synced pictures from the web version of Google Photos to my computer. Unpack the zip file. Then place the pictures in a project folder which is synced to Google Drive. 

In theory, the pictures in Google Drive should now be a copy of the pictures in Google Photos. HOWEVER, whenever I delete a picture in Google Photos, the same picture gets deleted in Google Drive (and visa vers) even with the Google Photos to Google drive sync option turned off!

Hadn't I found out about it, I would have lost many project pictures. My idea was to delete them from Google Photos to not have them mixed with my everyday pictures, since they should have been copied to Google Drive.

Tl;dr:

-Using Google Photos for everyday pictures

-Using Google Drive for projects

-Google Photos to Google Drive sync is turned off.

-When downloading Google Photos pictures from the web, unzipping them, and saving them into a Google Drive synced folder, then strangely enough the picture in Google Drive will be deleted if I delete the same picture in Google Photos (and visa versa).

Sorry Daniel, the only path to the developers is via feedback. We have a bug submitting process, but single user issues do not immediately qualify, or to put it another way, the priority would be so low that it would not get looked at. The process dictates that it is a widespread issue which is causing problems for many users.

There may be an option to pursue it via Google One 1:1 support if you are a subscriber, but bug or working as intended would be a debate.  Your workflow is not usual, and others may have a workflow where the situation would be beneficial.

You can delete a shared photo from Sharing section of the Google Photos app. Here's how:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
2. From the bottom panel, tap on Sharing option from the menu list.
3. Locate the photo shared to the wrong person and then tap on more icon (3 vertical dots) at the top right corner.
   
4. Finally, select delete album.

Just to confirm, are you referring to recover deleted photos from Google Photos? If so, I'd suggest you follow the below mentioned steps to restore photos in Google Photos:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
2. At the top left, tap Menu   Trash .
3. Touch and hold the photo or video you want to recover.
4. At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
• In your phone
• Into the "Photos" section of the app.
• Into any albums it was in.

Besides, I'd want you to know that if you've deleted the photos permanently from the trash section of Google Photos, then there isn't an option to recover them back. If something isn't in your trash, it can't be restored. You won't be able to restore a photo if:

• The photo or video has been in trash for more than 60 days.
• You deleted it, then emptied your trash
• You permanently deleted it from your trash

You may want to check out this Help Center article for more information on restoring photos in Google Photos.

After upgrading to Android 10 a huge number of photos have been deleted from my phone. Connecting the phone to my Computer, I couldn't find my photos anymore. All but one have been deleted even from storage it seems. Some of them haven't been synced and seem to be gone forever now :'(

But also some of my synced photos are gone. They do not even appear on the web page and can't be found anywhere.

Are you talking about a book already printed and delivered? 

Then you should complain at the printservice.

Or are you designing one?

You only can choose from 3 cuts: a broad one on top, a small square crop in centre or a square crop filling the whole front. If not suitable, you need to select another picture which may be more suitable.
