Respected sir I accidentally deleted my 400 photos Can you help me sir
Hi there,
Once you delete them from the trash they are permanently deleted; they are only recoverable in 60 days if they are still in the trash.
You can try a few options that might help recover some but not 100% guaranteed.
- Contact the Google Drive team and say you want to recover files - click on the contact us option on this link.
- You can try using a third party photo recovery app at this point to try to recover some of what was lost from your phone - just type photo recovery into the play store and see what options are available. I can't recommend any as haven't used one personally but some people do have success that way.

You might contact Google Drive Support at the Help icon

Share photo data from Verizon Cloud to Google Photos. When I use the SHARE function in Verizon Cloud to share my pictures, sometimes the Google Photos app. appears in the list of apps. to share content with, other times it's not available. I want to avoid doing downloading and uploading, so I'm using share to select the content I want to move.
Why does the SHARE function sometimes have Google Photos (*"Upload to Photos" is the option) and other times not? Is this a Verizon issue?

If I choose one of the images the immage tries to load and then gives up and turned into a black screen. However zooming the image in will load the image like the issue was never there at all. Zoom back out to deafult and the issue returns. this is not the case for all images however some seem to load in fine. Like pictures taken on an actual camera or a completely. different smart phone. I feel like it is an issue with HDR (Wich would make little sense because a vast majority of my library is drawn art in Photoshop or the likes or download images) or with the way my old phone (google pixel) uploaded the images to the cloud

Hello George,
Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Support Community.
Could you please elaborate the issue or your query for me to assist you better? Also, lease share the steps how to share photos from Verizon to Google Photos app. This maybe a feature of Verizon and not of Google Photos.
If Google Photos, is set to backup automatically, it only recognizes the photos that are in your device for a backup.
Keep me posted.

Amanda

Answer:
Hi Aliyah,
I'm sorry for your photos.
Google Photos is actually designed to work that way. When you delete any photos somewhere they get deleted also from all your synchronized devices and online spaces.
If the deleted photos are still in the Google Photos Trash you might be able to restore them as explained in these instructions https://support.google.com/photos/answer/6128867?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&oco=1
Otherwise it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Trash. However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.
In addition I recommend that you contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Just open the Google Drive https://support.google.com/drive/?hl=en&authuser=0#topic=14940&contact=1 contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.

And Picasa itself is an off-line desktop photomanager, so it only can show the picturefolders stored on your computer. So you only can download your albums on Google Photos to your computer if you want to view and manage them. Please be more clear, because you may have wrong ideas about Google Photos.

But recently Google switched-off its connection to their servers also, so you only can reach your webalbums in your webbrowser, either via the archive that Google has left at https://get.google.com/albumarchive or via Google Photos at https://photos.google.com/albums
And then you must log-in with the account used to create these albums and it is quite possible that you have two different accounts: an old "Picasa-account" and a newer Gmail-account for your smartphone mainly.
So please tell if you can see there what you expect - else you can't download nothing back to your computer for better viewing in Picasa.

As far as I know, not in the Sharing option in Google Photos. They do not seem to simply use the Gmail contacts, but I have no idea where they get their list from. I had and still have the problem of old (no longer used) email addresses, and addresses with typos, but could not remove them. I decided NOT to use that option anymore, especially since you get no warning or notice when a mail is not delivered. I just copy the link in a normal email.

Hi Rivers,
all the photos and videos you store in Google Photos are private and visible only to you unless you intentionally share any. You can check which albums or photos you may have shared by reviewing the Shared screen of the Google Photos app or visiting the corresponding page photos.google.com/shared of the website.
For more information I recommend that you review the Google privacy policy https://policies.google.com/privacy

Answer:
Then they were not stored as RAWs or you are downloading from your screen instead of Google via the 3 dots.
If you have used the High Quality option in the backup settings, your RAWs are compressed to jpg's at Google. Or the type of RAWs the camera produces, are not fully compatible and got converted because of that reason - lately there was someone with an LG producing incompatible DNG-file.
Answer:
I solved this by the following
1. Open Google Photo on your phone
2. Select .dng files there and click on share icon.
3. Select Upload to Google Drive
4. Choose a folder you want your raw files to be saved.
Now go to your pc and open Google Drive folder in sync.
There you have .dng files.

Answer:
Hello Muhammad,
Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Support Community.
I understand and I'll be happy to help. It can be possible that the photos weren't uploaded successfully to Google Photos (cloud) and also make sure you're logged in to Google Photos with the same Google Account that you used during the backup. Photos/videos that are not synced or backed up, will still appear in Google Photos and will have this icon
(which means not synced/backed up) or some photos/videos will also show up with the two arrows in a circle mean backup is in progress.
Once the upload is complete there will be no icon on any photos/videos. Often, many of us misinterpret that they are all backed up because the photos/videos show up in Google Photos and we over see the icons on each photo/video. If the photos/videos weren't backed up they cannot be deleted from the Google Photos library nor Trash.
In case, you are uploading a large amount of data (photos/videos), please know that it might take 24-48 hours for the photos and videos to sync across all devices. Please ensure to have 'Backup & sync' enabled on the Google Photos settings while you're backing up your photos and videos. To check is the content is backed up, login in to photos.google.com to checked for your backed up photos and videos.
However, if you're sure they were backed up, I recommend you looking for your video here:
- photos.google.com.
- photos.google.com/trash.
- picasaweb.google.com.
- drive.google.com (under Google Photos).
If a photo/s is deleted from Google Photos, it would go to Trash/Bin for the next 60 days (after deletion). Unfortunately, if the photos aren't found in Trash or deleted from Trash, I'm afraid, you might not find them else where to recover them because Trash is the last resort to retrieve your lost/deleted photos.
Meanwhile, please uninstall and reinstall the Google Photos app on your iOS device and login with the same Google Account to check if this sorts the issue.
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Amanda

I agree that the assistant-suggested auto-rotate seems to have gone missing. I've resorted to manually rotating my photos. Here's a video if you need: https://youtu.be/1xQcRHTl-mk

If you go in settings and then assistant cards you can find a toogle for suggested rotations.
I have it enabled but it doesn't show any suggestions for my photos that need to be rotated
Answer:
Just FYI - a update: if you have updated your Google Photos app, you'll no longer have an Assistant or Assistant cards settings. You'll find the "Suggested Rotations" setting under Menu, Settings, Suggestions.

Question: I want to stop my picture's from Sharing
Everything
Hi James,
all the photos and videos you store in Google Photos are private and visible only to you unless you intentionally share any. You can check which albums or photos you may have shared by reviewing the Shared screen of the Google Photos app or visiting the corresponding page photos.google.com/shared of the website.
To turn off sharing an album open the album in the Google Photos app, tap the 3-dots icon, tap Options, and then turn off Share. However, if the users with whom you shared the album downloaded any of its photos, the users will still be able to keep and share them.

Hi.
In Google Drive, I have a 'computer' folder which is a sync of photos on my PC.
These don't appear in 'Google photos'.
Is it possible for these to sync to the Google photos area?
Thanks

Probably these picture already are present on Photos from the past or your files are not compatible for getting uploaded to Photos and thereby stick on Drive and taking storage there.

iMac with google sync set up for photos only (not syncing google drive). iPad and Android phone with google photos installed, plus Chrome on the iMac browsing to photos.google.com.
Waited for all photo sync operations to finish before deleting,
Photo sync is idle.
Some of my photos are on an external USB hard drive on the iMac, some are on the iMac internal hard drive.
I deleted a bunch of photos using my Android phone, in the google photos app.
Google sync seems to wake up and delete photos on the iMac as desired. Or so I thought. It appears this doesn't actually do anything..
I then reboot my iMac, and google sync starts syncing photos again from the iMac, all the same photos I deleted already.
It also seems to be rolling through the whole photo library from scratch again, as if it thinks my iMac photos are new, and not already synchronized.
It seems like the only method that actually deletes the photos is to delete them by hand on the iMac, which defeats the purpose of having a nice browsing interface on photos.google.com ..
Very annoying..

Deletion of photos and videos is also a sync with Google Photos. Photos deleted from one device in Google Photos, they wouldn't appear in Google Photos on any other synced device.

Answer:
Sorry, but your answer seems self contradictory.
Either a deleted photo is removed from all synced devices, (yes please!!) Or it's not.
Your two statements are saying the opposite of each other.
I think the photos I deleted in Google photos are not getting removed from my desktop computer, even though my desktop computer is running Google sync for photos.
Furthermore, desktop sync doesn't bring the deleted photos back until I reboot the desktop.
In short, desktop sync is broken with regards to deleted photos.

Edit ahead 🙏🙌🤙👌👉👉 may have found a really lame temporary solution. Turn on airplane mode/disconnect from the internet, delete your photos, empty the trash, THEN reconnect. I believe what's happening on my end is Google Photos refuses to actually delete the files on my device (at least in a timely manner) so instead it decides to backup the same photos immediately, causing their disgraceful, abhorrent, and completely unwelcomed reappearance. No internet? No backup. Problem band-aided ✔️

Question: Some how i lost all my photos and can not retrieve them please help
Everything you said to do
Hello Tim,
Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Support Community.
I understand and I'll be happy to help. Were the photos backed up to Google Photos (cloud)?
Best,
Amanda

Answer:
Once you share an Album with your wife, she should should View Album from the sharing invitation (typically in an email to her Google Account), then select Save Photos.
At this point (which I take it you have reached), the images from the shared Album will appear individually in Photos view of her Google Photos App but the Album will not appear in Albums view; this is by (questionable) design. To see the Album in its entirety as part of her photos library, she needs to enter Sharing view (blue icon at bottom of App's home screen to the right of Photos, Albums, and Assistant).
Once in Sharing view she will see the Name of the Albums you shared with her, and she can select any such Album to view as an Album.
Let me know if this helps (and if it does please select the Recommend button below this post so that others can more easily find the solution to similar problems).

Thanks for your reply. Maybe I am blind but I can not see/find the blue icon? Is it ok for you to send me like a print screen by email? Send it to my gmail adress or henrik.lonnving@hotmail.se. Think that will help me.
Answer:
@Henrik
Lobalobo added "Sharing view (... at bottom of App's home screen to the right of Photos, Albums, and Assistant)".
The icon is not blue but you should have found the word "Sharing" to the right of .....
When you use Google Photos in a browser these icons with text are found at the left side.
When you use Google Photos in a browser these icons with text are found at the left side.
Summarizing:
- As soon as your wife "Joins" an album she can see it in "Sharing".
- These albums are not really on her account. In fact she looks at your albums.
- Advantage: when you add photos they will automatically be seen in the album on her account
- Possible problems:
- When you delete photos or stop sharing an album she will no longer see them.
- She cannot search for these albums in the search bar. You can search for the photos though since they are already added to her library, thus she owns copies of the photos.
Possible alternative solutions:
- She can select all photos in a shared album and add them to a new album on her account. That will make her owner of a copy of that album. Note that new photos added to the shared album will NOT automatically be added to the new album she owns, but she can repeat that action when needed (photos will not be added twice to the album if already there).
- Me and my wife both sign in to the same account in the Google Photos app. No more need to share anything. You both look at the same. One of you must create new albums, the other will see them.
Answer:

Answer:

Yes you have to share every single album, and she must "Join" it to get it under "Sharing". "Partner sharing" shares all photos, but no albums. I find it useless since all my photos are in albums.
If my wife wants to see my albums she changes to my account in the Google Photos app on her device (iPad). She can toggle between her and my account without signing out/in. That works for us because she does not use the iPad as a camera and thus has Backup & Sync turned off, otherwise her photos may end up in my account ... Depending on your and her use another solution may suit you better.

I have to restart my phone to get the photographs back in to the Album. What is going on? Advice would be welcome
Answer:
Needless to say, hope this can be solved as I can imagine how frustrated you must be. An initial question for you is whether you ever recall seeing your images anywhere but on the phone (or similar device) that you used to take the pictures. More specifically, did you ever see your images at Google Photos (photos.google.com) on a browser of your laptop or tablet or other device? If not, though this is no comfort, I know, it is possible that the images were never actually backed up but perhaps merely queued to back up (a distinction that is sadly confusing on many phones and tablets). If the answer is that you have viewed the photos at the Google Photos site, there is an excellent chance that they are there and that you will be able to recover them.
In any case, in searching Google for missing images you should check the following sites (being sure to sign in with the same Google Account you used on the phone or device with which you took the pictures):
- drive.google.com (in the Google Photos Folder, if one exists)
- https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ (Recently Added)
- https://photos.google.com/albums (People, Places, Things, etc.)
If you still can't find the images, and you no longer have access to your original phone), I'm afraid that there is nothing that can be done. (You might contact Google Drive Support at the Help Icon
of photos.google.com, but I wouldn't be optimistic that they will help.)

Hello Marcia,
Welcome to the Google Photos Support Community.
Unable to back up videos/photos can sometimes be upsetting. I'd recommend trying the below steps to check if they resolve the issue:
- Open the Google Photos app on your mobile device
.
- At the bottom, tap Assistant
.
- Read the first card. If it says:
- "Back up & sync is off": Tap "TURN ON" on the card to back up your device's photos and videos, including ones you capture in the future.
- "A photo or video was skipped": A photo or video on your mobile device doesn't meet our uploadrequirements:
- Photos can't exceed 75MB or 100 megapixels.
- Videos can't exceed 10GB.
It does take approximately 24-48 hours for the photos and videos to sync across all devices. Please ensure to have 'Backup & sync' enabled on the Google Photos settings while you're backing up your photos and videos. It's possible that Google Photos is merely scanning your library again, the scan will take some time, but it shouldn't re-upload the photos entirely as duplicates. The app may look like it's doing this but it's actually doing a re-scan of the photos.
If the issue still persist after 24-48 hours, then give the below steps a try in a sequence to help resolve the issue:
- Close the Google Photos app and re-launch it.
- Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos with the same Google Account.
- Clear App data:
- Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).
- Touch Apps.
- Select Google Photos in the list.
- Touch Clear data.
- Update the Google Photos app on your Android phone:
- Visit the Google Play Store.
- Open Google Photos.
- Touch on Update.
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Amanda

In google photos app.
When vewing a photo in an album, I wish to add it to another album. When selecting the three dots menu there is only an option to 'remove from album', not to add to another album.
How can I add this photo to a second album?
Answer:
Go into Photos view of your Google Photos App (as opposed to Albums view); select the image you'd like to add to another Album and the option to choose any Album you like will appear.

I take photos using my canon camera. I used to move them to my computer, and sync them online (backup) with google photos desktop app. It worked fine. All the photos are on a different HD than my OS one (a backup drive) and I backuped from there.
Then google changed....
Now google photos app won't work (doesnt manage to log in to my account), and if I want to use google backup & sync, I have to select the folders specifically to backup them to google photos.
Now, i don't mind doing that, and selecting the entire Photos folder.
The big question is, will backup & sync know which photos are already uploaded to google photos and not backup them again? or will it create duplicate in google photos (and then I need a different backup app or solution).
Thanks
Michael
Answer:
So long as the images already backed up to Google Photos are in every way identical (unedited) to the ones in a folder to be backed up, duplicates will not be loaded.

As an aside, if you go into Preferences in Backup & Sync (launching from your computer's icon tray then selecting the More Options - three vertical dots in upper right - you should be able to follow the prompts and have Backup & Sync continuously monitor the folder you want backed up without having to select it every time.

Hi Aqib,
I’m sorry, it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Google Photos Trash.

Why don't you just upload them manually ? You can
- use the UPLOAD button in https://photos.google.com/
- drag & drop into https://photos.google.com/
- drag & drop directly to an album
Too much work ? I don't think so. Less troubles, issues, duplicates, skipped photos, re-scanning etc
