Brian Kemp is declared winner of Georgia governor's race as Trump takes credit for his win - Duration: 4:35.

Brian Kemp is declared winner of Georgia governor's race as Trump takes credit for his win

Republican Brian Kemp has officially won the Georgia Governor's race, denying Democrat Stacey Abrams the chance to become the first female black governor in the nation.

The Associated Press called the race for Kemp on Sunday afternoon as the state officially certified its results from the Nov. Abrams on Sunday conceded Kemp was the legal winner but refused to call him the legitimate winner.

The race has been a nail biter from the start as polls showed the two contenders running neck and neck. Both sides poured money and star power into the contest, which was plagued by allegations of voter fraud.

Kemp narrowly avoided a runoff contest, beating Abrams by 54,723 votes out of more than 3. He had to get more than 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff and barley did so, coming in with 50.

The race became an all-star battle with both sides bringing in the political might to help the candidates close the deal in the final days leading up to the election. Abrams had Oprah Winfrey, former President Barack Obama, and Will Ferrell.

Kemp had President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Trump took credit for Kemp's win on Sunday. 'I won against President Obama and Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama in a great state called Georgia for the governor.

And it was all stacked against Brian and I was the one that went for Brian and Brian won,' he said on 'Fox News Sunday.'.

It was unclear what he meant by the Michelle Obama reference as the former first lady did not campaign for Abrams, although her husband did.

Abrams on Sunday conceded Kemp was the legal winner but said she would not call him the legitimate winner.

She told CNN's 'State of the Union' that she thought there was deliberate interference in the election, saying 'it began eight years ago with the systematic disenfranchisement of more than a million voters.

It continued with the underfunding and disinvestment in polling places, in training and in the management of the county delivery of services. And I think it had its pinnacle in this race.'.

'So yes, there was a deliberate and intentional disinvestment and, I think, destruction of the administration of elections in the state of Georgia,' she noted.

Voting rights was a huge issue in the race especially after Kemp - in his role as secretary of state - launched an investigation into the state's Democratic Party, just two days before the election.

Kemp claimed the Democratic Party of Georgia attempted to hack the state's voter registration system — yet has provided no evidence to support the charge.

The secretary of state's office is refusing to supply any details, as well, and the Democratic Party is denying the unverified allegation.

'I will never deny the legal imprimatur that says he is in this position, and I pray for his success,' Abrams said Sunday on CNN.

'But will I say that this election was not tainted, was not a disinvestment and a disenfranchisement of thousands of voters? I will not say that.'.

Trump's Weird Lie About Raking in Finland: A Closer Look - Duration: 12:50.

-President Trump made up another weird thing

about a foreign country while attacking a retired Admiral

for not getting Osama bin Laden sooner.

For more on this, it's time for "A Closer Look."

[ Cheers and applause ]

Whether you believe Donald Trump colluded with Russia or not,

whether you consider him a threat to democracy or not,

one thing I think everyone can agree on is that he is weird.

He is a weird man.

Just a flag-hugging, umbrella-ditching,

can't do a normal handshake kind of weirdo.

And one of the weird little things about

Donald Trump's presidency is that every few months or so

he concocts a bizarre lie about another country,

and then everyone in that country has to figure out

what the hell he's talking about.

Remember when he did it to Sweden last year?

-You look at what's happening last night in Sweden.

Sweden, who would believe this? Sweden.

-Now, those words about Sweden sparked a quick backlash

with officials in that country who wanted to know

what he was talking about because there was no attack

in Sweden the previous night.

-This was front-page news here on Monday,

it's also been the subject of a significant amount of ridicule

online and people you talk to here making jokes, you know.

What was Donald Trump referring to last night

when he spoke on Saturday, jokes like,

"Hey, did someone take all our Swedish meatballs?"

-Okay, but please don't joke about it

because then Trump will think you're serious

and start repeating that, too.

-Immigrants are sneaking into Sweden

and stealing their meatballs, folks.

And it's very upsetting to their celebrity chefs.

He called me last night.

He called me on the phone last night and he said,

and these are his exact words, he said to me,

"Schmorgity, borgity, borgity, borg."

And you know, it's so true. I said it's so true.

Seriously, you know it's bad when even the Swedes

are mocking us.

This would be like Ikea changing their instructions to this.

[ Laughter ]

Then Trump did it again in September

when he went to the U.N. and said something about Germany

that was so detached from reality,

even the German delegation couldn't help but laugh at him.

-Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy

if it does not immediately change course.

Here in the Western hemisphere we are committed to maintaining

our independence from the encroachment

of expansionist foreign powers.

[ Laughter ]

-Not only are these dudes laughing,

but look at this lady's face.

[ Laughter ]

She doesn't know what the hell he's talking about

and she's from a country where this is a real word.

[ Laughter ]

And then there's one of Trump's weirdest recurring lines,

that he has a friend in Paris

who keeps telling him that Paris is no longer Paris.

-I have a friend, every year he goes to Paris.

I haven't seen him in awhile.

Paris, oh, the city of lights.

He's told me for years, Paris, Paris.

I see him, like, a month ago.

"How was Paris this summer?"

"I don't go to Paris, are you kidding me?"

I have a friend used to go to Paris, loved Paris.

I said to him recently, "How was Paris this summer?"

"He said we don't go to Paris."

He said, "Paris is no longer Paris."

Which is obviously true.

I have a friend, he's a very, very substantial guy.

He loves the city of lights. He loves Paris.

And I said, Jim, let me ask you a question.

"How is Paris doing?"

"Paris? I don't go there anymore.

Paris is no longer Paris."

-I feel like what happened here, is Trump went to Paris,

met a mime, and misinterpreted what he was saying.

My friend Jim told me immigrants are climbing,

they're climbing into Paris -- They're trying to pull.

The police are trying to pull them out, but they can't,

and that's why, you know, they need, you know.

They need a wall.

[ Cheers and applause ]

I'd rather talk to a mime than an American who calls it Pa-ris.

He's telling me Pa-ris, Pa-ris.

So if you're keeping track, Trump he made up

a fake terror attack in Sweden,

claimed Germany was captive to Russia,

and said Paris just doesn't exist anymore.

And Trump did it again over the weekend when he traveled to

California to survey damage from the wildfires there.

He made a very strange claim

about how they prevent forest fires in Finland.

Watch as your deeply weird President stands awkwardly

to the current incumbent governors of California

and rambles, incoherently, like he just overdosed on SUDAFED.

-I'm committing to make sure that we get all of this

cleaned out and protected,

Gotta take care of the floors, the floors of the forest.

It's very important.

You look at other countries where they do it differently,

and it's a whole different story.

I was with the president of Finland and he said,

"We have a much different -- we're a forest nation."

He called it a forest nation.

And they spend a lot of time on raking

and cleaning and doing things and they don't have any problem.

And what it is, it's a very small problem.

I know everybody's looking at that to that end.

And it's going to work out. It's going to work out well.

-Look at everyone else trying not to look at him.

They all look like parents at the grocery store

Whose toddler just said, "Daddy, that lady is fat."

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

If you didn't know Trump was president,

you'd think he was a weirdo who just walked up to them

from his trailer in the woods.

He's going to be covered in leaves

and holding a giant walking stick.

You got to rake the floors!

You got to rake the floors of the forest!

[ Laughter ]

That's what my friend, Nutty the squirrel, told me,

isn't that right, Nutty?

Can we go back to this real quick.

-You got to take care of the floors.

You know, the floors of the forest.

-Why does he call it the floor of the forest?

It's the ground.

[ Laughter ]

Does he also call the sky the ceiling of the Earth?

The more he talks, the clearer it is

that he has never been outside.

[ Laughter ]

These wildfires, the floor is filthy, now we got to mop it up.

We'll also be replacing these wood columns with steel beams.

And as you can see, the roof is gone.

And of course, once again --

[ Cheers and applause ]

Once again it happened with Sweden, Germany, and Paris,

the president of Finland had to come out

and publicly clarify that he did not, in fact, tell Trump

that people in his country rake the floors of the forest.

-The President of Finland says he did discuss

the California wildfires with President Trump,

but he doesn't quite recall the conversation the same way.

He said they did talk about California's wildfires,

and some of the ways that Finland maintains the forest,

but raking did not come up.

-Keeps happening.

Trump makes up something insane about another country

and then the president of that country

has to come out and say it's not true.

We're like a week away from the president of Romania

calling a press conference to say,

"I did not tell President Trump that vampires are real."

And again...

[ Applause ]

And again, just as the Germans laughed at us,

and the Swedes made fun of us, the Finnish people are now

mocking Trump's comments on social media,

like this woman who tweeted

"Just an ordinary day in the Finnish forest."

with a picture of herself vacuuming the ground outside.

You mean that? That's pretty good. That's very good.

Can we see real quick the German reaction to that?

There you go. They like it.

Trump has to concoct fantastical lies like this

because they reinforce his diluted world view

and they're easier to swallow than reality,

and in this case the reality is that man-made climate change

is making these fires more frequent and extreme,

but Trump would rather make up an insane fantasy

about firefighters raking forest floors

than admit that climate change is having

deadly real-world consequences.

Just watch this exchange from an interview "Fox News"

aired over the weekend.

-I was watching the firemen the other day.

And they were raking areas.

They were raking areas where the fire was, right over there.

And they're raking trees, little trees, like this, --

not trees, little bushes, that you could see are totally dry.

Weeds. And they're raking them. They're on fire.

That should have been all raked out and cleaned out.

-What about the argument it's climate change?

That it's drier, it's hotter,

and that that's contributing to it?

-maybe it contributes a little bit.

The big problem we have is management.

You need forest management. It has to be.

I'm not saying that in a negative way,

I'm just saying the facts.

And I've really learned a lot.

-No, you haven't.

Though in fairness, if you don't know anything

and then you learn one thing, it seems like a lot.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

The president is a conspiracy theorist

who makes up cartoonish lies about everything

from wildfires to immigration.

And when you call him out, he attacks you.

Just take retired Admiral William McRaven,

a Navy SEAL who oversaw the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

McRaven has criticized Trump's attacks on the press

and in return, Trump decided to insult him.

-Bill McRaven, retired Admiral, Navy SEAL, 37 years,

former head of U.S. Special Operations.

-Hillary Clinton fan. -Special operations --

-Excuse me, Hillary Clinton fan.

-Who led the operations, commanded the operations

that took down Saddam Hussein and killed Osama bin Laden

says that your sentiment is

the greatest threat to democracy in his lifetime.

-He's a Hillary Clinton backer and an Obama backer.

And, frankly -- -He's a Navy SEAL.

-Wouldn't it have been nice if we got

Osama bin Laden a lot sooner than that.

-You're attacking him for not getting Osama bin Laden sooner?

Oh, because I totally could see you charging in there

in your hat and your wind breaker,

swinging a rake like it's a sword.

Where are you? Osama? Osama!

I'm gonna -- I'm gonna rake your floors.

[ Laughter ]

Trump then went on to claim that it was obvious

to everyone where bin Laden was hiding,

and also found a way to work in a very strange dig

at bin Laden's compound.

-Think of this, living in Pakistan,

beautifully in Pakistan in what I guess

they considered a nice mansion, I don't know, I've seen nicer.

Mm.

You can make this idiot a president

And everything still comes back to real estate.

It's in a little neighborhood in the middle of Pakistan,

I call it Mid-Pac.

[ Laughter ]

The Mid-Packing district.

[ Laughter ]

Only Donald Trump.

Only Donald Trump can make himself feel better

by implying he has a nicer house than Osama bin Laden.

Bin laden's already one of the most hated evil people

in the history of human civilization.

You're not, like, burning him by saying he has a crappy house.

Who's Trump gonna go after next?

You know, people make fun of my hair,

but it's much nicer than the Unabomber's.

[ Laughter ]

We have a president who concocts outlandish lies

and spreads conspiracy theories and attacks anyone

who calls him out, and all the while

the rest of the world laughs at us,

from Finland to Germany to --

-Sweden!

-This has been "A Closer Look."

After Answering Mueller's Questions Trump Reveals How The Entire Witch Hunt Is A SCAM(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 13:12.

After Answering Mueller's Questions Trump Reveals How The Entire Witch Hunt Is A SCAM

as president Trump starts the final two years of his term he faces new

challenges for the first time he must deal with a divided Congress after

Democrats regain control of the house Robert Muller's Russia probe appears to

be reaching its conclusion and there are new challenges overseas from allies like

Saudi Arabia and adversaries like North Korea we sat down with mr. Trump Friday

in the Roosevelt Room just across from the Oval Office

hoping to explore a presidency at a turning point mr. president thank you

for talking with us thank you Chris very much let's start

with the state of Donald Trump there are a number of stories out there that

you're angry about the midterms about your treatment in the media about the

way you were treated when you were in Paris

one story even said that you were in a quote cocoon of bitterness and

resentment we'll get into all the details later but how dark is your mood

it's very light it's fake news it's disgusting fake news I read a front-page

story in The Washington Post they never even called me nobody ever calls but you

know they they hear I don't even think they have sources I think they just make

it up like it's fiction and I will tell you I'm extremely upbeat the White House

is running like a well-oiled machine it's doing really well I have great

people I will make some changes but not very many I'm very happy with my cabinet

other than you know a couple of exceptions and even there I'm not

unhappy and I will tell you that it's so wrong the reporting about me is so wrong

I'm loving what I'm doing I did well in France I did have a problem where I

wasn't able to go to a cemetery because the Secret Service would not let me do

it we'll get into all of this no no but I'm just telling did the Secret Service

would not let me do it and they made it a big deal you've said a lot of things

there let's try to unpack there's a lot of talk about staff

changes your deputy national security adviser was moved out after your wife

did something I've never heard of a first lady doing before publicly calling

for her removal are you comfortable with the way that went down where it's kind

of looked like your wife was firing one of your advisers well I didn't know the

adviser well really and I know they had a lot of problem I wife did a great job

in Africa and she was not treated properly by the press she really worked

so hard they came to me they wanted to go a little bit public because that's

the way they felt and I thought it was fine

I met with Mira two days ago and we're gonna move her around she was with me

for a long time although I don't know her she's really somebody I don't know

very well but we're gonna move her around because she's got certain talents

but frankly she is not she'll never be put in the United Nations let me put it

that way meaning she's not too diplomat he's not too diplomatic but she's

talented are you happy with Kirsten Nielsen at DHS well I like her a lot I

respect her a lot she's very smart I want her to get much tougher and we'll

see what happens there but I want to be extremely tough what are the chances

she'll be DHS there's a chance but there's a chance everybody I mean that's

what happens in government you leave you make a name you go the people that have

left have done very well the people that have left have done very well from my

white house I like her very much I respect her very much I'd like her to be

much tougher on the border much tougher period back in July you said that chief

of staff John Kelly will be here through 2020 we can say that I wouldn't look we

get along well there were certain things I love what he does and there are

certain things that I don't like that he does if that aren't his strength it's

not that he doesn't do you know he worked so hard he's doing an excellent

job in many ways there are a couple of things where it's just not his strength

it's not his fault it's not his strength such as but I haven't even thought about

John in terms of this but John at some point is going to want

move on John we'll move on so 2020 is no longer written in stone could happen

yeah it could be I mean it could be but let's see what happens I have not look I

have three or four or five positions that I'm thinking about of that maybe

it's going to end up being two maybe but I want to I need flexibility you have

already made at least one big change naming Matt Whittaker as your acting

Attorney General he has a long record of speaking out against the special counsel

and his problem the truth is there was no collusion with the Russians and the

Trump campaign did you know before you appointed him that he had that record

and was so critical of Robert Muller I did not know that I did not know he

took views on the Muller investigation as such and when you found that out I

don't think it had any effect if you look at those statements those

statements that can they really can be viewed either way but I don't think

illusion what do you do when a person's right there is no collusion he happened

to be right I mean he said it so if he said there is collusion I'm supposed to

be taken somebody that says there is because then I wouldn't take him for two

reasons but the number one reason is the fact that he would have been wrong if he

said that there's no collusion he's right he is gonna have to make or could

potentially make a lot of big calls in the Muller investigation if Muller

decides that he wants to subpoena you the Attorney General Whittaker can block

that if mother issues a final report he can decide how much goes to Congress or

doesn't go to Congress you tweeted this week about quote Bob Muller and his gang

of Democrat thugs right yes Whittaker decides in any way to limit or

curtail the Muller investigation are you okay with that look he it's gonna be up

to him I think he's very well aware politically I think he's astute

politically he's a very smart person a very respected person he's gonna do

what's right I really believe he's going to do what's right but you won't

overrule him if he decides to curtail I would not get involved and all these

people that say I'm gonna end the investigation you know they've been

saying that now for how long is this witch-hunt gone on it

and for what since May of something but how long have I been looked at you know

when I've been looked at once again 26 time the day I announced I was looked at

as a candidate with nothing no proof with phony people like McCabe and Stroke

and his lover you had Lisa page his lover these people were looking at me

they wanted an insurance policy just in case I won or Hilary lost and this was

the insurance policy it's a scam there was no collusion whatsoever and

the whole thing is a scam your team is preparing written answers to questions

about not my team I'm preparing written answers Mike I'm the one that does the

answer yes are there writing them out yes yeah they're writing what I tell

them to write are they gonna be submitted at some point very soon yes

I've completed them so you're you are submit wasn't a big deal by the way

wasn't a big deal the answer the questions were asked and answered wasn't

a big deal you know they make it like I had meetings for many many hours I got

the questions I responded we wrote them out I read them once I read him a second

time we made some changes that's it they're very simple but you know why I

did nothing wrong here's my question though you are

submitting written answers to the special counsel about the issue of

collusion but not on obstruction of justice well there was no obstruction to

me if I'm a surgeon I think they probably agree with that your final

position that there's gonna be no sit-down interview and nothing written

or in-person on obstruction I would say probably probably I mean I can change my

mind but probably I think I would've no way I think we've wasted enough time on

this witch hunt and the answer is probably were finished one in a hundred

what honor do its we would I gave very many to say no sir you're right and very

successful actually we gave very very complete answers to a lot of questions

that I shouldn't have even been asked and I think that should solve the

problem I hope itself the problem if it doesn't you know I'll be told and we'll

make a decision that time but probably this is the end

if Congress were to move to either try to cut off any US involvement in the war

in Yemen or to block any arms sales you won't go along well I want to see Yemen

end but it takes two to tango Iran has to end it also and Iran is a different

country than it was when I took over it's far weakened because of what I did

with the Iran so-called Iran deal or an nuclear deal which was one of the great

ripoffs of of all time but I want Sony to stuff but I want to ran to stop also

when Democrats flipped the house back in 2006 and picked up 30 seats

President Bush 43 had a news conference the next day and said we had a thumping

last week in this election the house picked up so far it's 36 seats it may be

on the way to 40 seats and your reaction was that it was almost a complete

victory I won the Senate you don't mentioned that excuse me I won the

Senate I think they said 88 years but this was a this is a historically big

defeat in the house you'd lost 36 maybe 40 seats some would argue that it was a

thumping and I want to talk about some of the ways in which you lost you lost

in traditionally Republican suburbs not only around liberal cities like

Philadelphia and DC but also red state big cities like Houston and Oklahoma

City you lost among suburban women you lost among independents and in three key

states that I think you remember pretty well Wisconsin Pennsylvania Michigan you

lost both the governor's seats and the Senate seats are you ready I won the

Senate and that's historic too because if you look at presidents in the White

House it's almost never happened where you want to see we won we now have 53 as

opposed to 51 and we have 53 great senators in the US Senate

we won that's a tremendous victory nobody talks about that that's a far

greater victory than it is for the other side number two I wasn't on the ballot

well I was you wait would you set you I said look at me I said pretend I'm on

the but I have people and you see the polls how good they are I have people

that won't vote unless I'm on the ballot okay and I wasn't on the ballot and

almost everybody that I went I think they said it was ten out of eleven and I

went against President Obama and Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama in a great

state called Georgia for the governor and it was all stacked against Bryan and

I was the one that went for Brian and Brian one look at Florida I went down to

Florida Rick Scott won and he won by a lot I don't know what happened to all

those votes have disappeared at the very end and if I didn't put a spotlight on

that election before it got down to the 12,500 votes he would have lost that

election okay in my opinion he would have lost they would take in that

election away from him Rick Scott won Florida he'd kept to say excuse me a man

named Ron de Santos is now your governor your new governor of Florida a wonderful

man named DeWine he's your governor of the great state of Ohio remember what

they used to say before my election you cannot win unless you win Ohio I won

Ohio we had a tremendous set of victories you look at the victories but

if you can't carry and you certainly didn't carry it two weeks ago Michigan

Wisconsin and Pennsylvania you're not gonna get reelected I didn't run I

wasn't running my name wasn't on the ballot there are many people that think

I don't like Congress that liked me a lot I get it all the time sir will never

vote unless you're on the ballot I get it all the time people are saying sir I

will never vote unless you're in the ballot I say no no go and vote well what

do you mean as much as I try and convince people to go vote I'm not on

the ballot thank you god bless you and God bless america
