Trump news on Youtube May 12 2018

it's official President Trump will meet face to face with North Korean leader

Kim jong-un one month from today June 12th in Singapore I'll be meeting

with Kim jong-un to pursue a future of peace and security for the world for the

whole world so is the president making the right moves toward peace with North

Korea here to weigh in is senior member of the House Armed Services Committee

Democratic Congressman John Garamendi congressman thank you very much for

being here this morning so you've seen these developments as that you're on

that Armed Services Committee you've seen the developments on the Korean

Peninsula our Democrats willing to at least

concede the the approach of this administration has brought us to a

moment where we could see a denuclearized enca low without war let's

be hopeful this would be a wonderful thing for the

entire world certainly for the United States for Korea and for that region so

listen let's be very very hopeful and be supportive of this important effort at

the same time let's not get too starry-eyed here this is a very very

difficult situation the president has set a very very high bar by moving away

from the Iran nuclear deal he will have to at least get that much from North

Korea probably over a significant period of time but nonetheless I'm going to be

very hopeful and encouraged by this move that the that will take place one month

from today Carson I think that's very fair I think hopeful is a fair approach

to look at something like this some of your fellow Democrats have looked at it

a little bit differently we've seen John Kerry former Secretary of State

literally meeting with foreign officials trying to and this is on the Iran deal

trying to stop the president from scrapping the Iran deal you've also got

Hillary Clinton on her book tour in Australia talking about how you know

it's eroding our credibility what happens with Iran we have one

commander-in-chief at a time would you counsel that those previous leaders let

this president advance the foreign policy he thinks is in the best interest

of our country well one thing you can count on in America and that is debate

you can count on controversy and debate obviously the Iran nuclear deal was a

very very controversial issue when it was put in place I happen to think it

was a good program and did prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon for some

time and very intrusive and very comprehensive observations for debate

all of that is now on the site I'm the Secretary of State during negotiations

John Kerry is literally meeting with foreign governments trying to undermine

our commander-in-chief that's not debate that's backstabber well I don't know if

that's exactly the case think about the timing for a moment the American policy

until the moment that the president signed his retreat from the Iran nuclear

deal the American policy was the Iran nuclear a deal that was in place the

jcpoa that was the American policy the Obama policy because it was never a

ratified treaty which would make it US policy in certain the policy of the

Obama administration but that gives this administration the pathway to pursue

their own policy correct well absolutely correct and that's

exactly what happened now was the decision by the president the right

decision that's going to play out in a very short period of time obviously the

allies that put this together United Kingdom Germany France the European

Union and two countries that are not allies but were deeply involved in the

program a China and Russia they are now on the other side of the United States

with regard to the to the Iran nuclear deal how that plays out what do the

sanctions that are going to be reimpose mean to those countries we do know that

Germany and France are already very very concerned that the imposition of the

American sanctions will have a very significant impact on their economy and

I'm sure right now that Iran is trying to figure out how best it will proceed

the United States also has to figure out how to proceed course we're not going to

be successful if we go alone so the interest is not the German or French

economy it's it's our security and the security of our allies in Israel if

President Trump believes as he has stated that the Iran deal was based

a lie that giving 1.7 billion dollars up front is not a good incentive that not

being able to inspect military sites is not a good idea that a 10-year window

where it stops isn't effective where they can still test their ballistic

missiles where they could put a nuke on it is bad policy

it hasn't he learned all of those lessons and then said hey we're going to

start over and then B we're going to apply a different approach in North

Korea we're not going to give them anything upfront there gave us our

hostages without without having to pay for them would you not acknowledge that

a hard-nosed approach has brought our enemies to the table and as a result

likely made us more safe well you may be able to draw a line between these two

but I think it's best to consider that where we were with Iran was a agreement

in which they poured concrete into their nuclear reactor that was designed to

produce plutonium that they did set aside and destroy many of their

centrifuges that they did a it's not all of them get to see all their sites I

mean we can litigate the ins and outs of the deal but a lot of people who look at

a deal realize there's a lot of things we can't see and a lot of things they

didn't stop and the deal ends after 10 years so Iran has a long view of the

world they still want to do you know what you're not you're not quite correct

about the deal ending after 10 years it actually goes on in perpetuity because

Iran is a signatory to the non-proliferation treaty which provided

there's no safeguards they were reveal we got the Intel that they're actually

building a new I mean they'd been lying to us for a long time no doubt about it

but also do keep in mind that the Secretary of State former CIA director

and the Secretary of Defense said that Iran was abiding by that agreement in in

it full with regard to the military sites the inspectors did have access to

the military sites after some 21 days of the request for such access or else the

sanctions would automatically snapback all of that is off the table now where

do we go forward from here I'm going to be very very hopeful about what takes

place in the Korean negotiations it's an extraordinarily dangerous place if that

has been at work for more than 60 years we do know that the South Korean

the new president there has made a very courageous move to recognize that the

reality on the ground is that there are two countries we're gonna see what

happens I wish the president good success well

Democratic congressman John Garamendi I think that's as I said hopeful is fair

and I hope you'll talk to more of your Democratic colleagues that they give

this commander-in-chief that chance thank you for the time this morning

really if you got it thank you

you

ALERT FBI Mole Was Placed In Trump Campaign – Identity Rocks DC - Duration: 13:06.

ALERT FBI Mole Was Placed In Trump Campaign – Identity Rocks DC

It's no secret that the FBI kept a close eye on Donald Trump's presidential campaign,

but new reports indicate that the bureau may have gone far deeper in monitoring the current

president than any of us ever thought.

In a Wall Street Journal piece called "About That FBI 'Source,'" reporter Kimberley

Strassel wrote that information on an FBI source that the Department of Justice was

just forced to reveal to the House Intelligence Committee may be evidence of an FBI mole inside

the 2016 Trump presidential campaign.

"The Department of Justice lost its latest battle with Congress Thursday when it allowed

House Intelligence Committee members to view classified documents about a top-secret intelligence

source that was part of the FBI's investigation of the Trump campaign," Strassel wrote,

according to Western Journal.

"Even without official confirmation of that source's name, the news so far holds some

stunning implications."

She went on to point out that the DOJ and FBI "outright hid critical information from

a congressional investigation."

Strassel then cited Speaker Paul Ryan's press conference after the material was released

Thursday, in which he "bluntly noted that Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes's request

for details on this secret source was 'wholly appropriate,' 'completely within the scope'

of the committee's long-running FBI investigation, and 'something that probably should have

been answered a while ago.'"

"Translation: The department knew full well it should have turned this material over to

congressional investigators last year, but instead deliberately concealed it," she

wrote.

"The bureau already has some explaining to do.

Thanks to the Washington Post's unnamed law-enforcement leakers, we know Mr. Nunes's

request deals with a 'top secret intelligence source' of the FBI and CIA, who is a U.S.

citizen and who was involved in the Russia collusion probe."

"When government agencies refer to sources, they mean people who appear to be average

citizens but use their profession or contacts to spy for the agency.

Ergo, we might take this to mean that the FBI secretly had a person on the payroll who

used his or her non-FBI credentials to interact in some capacity with the Trump campaign,"

Strassel continued.

"This would amount to spying, and it is hugely disconcerting.

It would also be a major escalation from the electronic surveillance we already knew about,

which was bad enough."

"I believe I know the name of the informant, but my intelligence sources did not provide

it to me and refuse to confirm it," Strassel concluded.

"It would therefore be irresponsible to publish it.

But what is clear is that we've barely scratched the surface of the FBI's 2016 behavior,

and the country will never get the straight story until President Trump moves to declassify

everything possible.

It's time to rip off the Band-Aid."

It's truly disturbing how little we know about the FBI's surveillance of Trump and

those around him.

Who do you think the informant could be?

Trump Ready To Slap Smuggling Charges on Sanctuary City Leaders After DHS Raid Uncovers Everything - Duration: 5:51.

Trump Getting Ready To Slap Smuggling Charges on Sanctuary City Leaders After DHS Raid Uncovers

Everything The debate over illegal immigration is never

over.

Especially under this current administration.

Now the administration's top immigration enforcement organization is saying they will

charge sanctuary city leaders with breaking federal anti-smuggling laws.

This could mean some serious time behind bars if they are not careful.

The Washington Times reported,

"Thomas Homan, the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also

told Americans to expect more work site enforcement targeting unscrupulous employers and more

287(g) agreements with willing police and sheriff's departments that want to help

get illegal immigrants off their streets.

Eventually, he said, ICE will break the deportation records of 409,849 migrants set in 2012 under

President Obama.

"I think 409,000 is a stretch this year, but if [the Justice Department] keeps going

in the direction they're going in, if we continue to expand our operational footprint,

I think we're going to get there," he told The Washington Times.

"Our interior arrests will go up.

They're going to top last year's for sure."Mr. Homan is the spear tip of President Trump's

effort to step up immigration enforcement — perhaps the largest swing in attitude

for any agency in government from the last administration to the current one.Agents and

officers have been unshackled from the limits imposed by Mr. Obama, whose rules restricted

arrests to less than 20 percent of the estimated illegal immigrant population.

Now, most illegal immigrants are eligible for deportation, though Mr. Homansaid serious

criminals, recent border crossers and people who are actively defying deportation orders

are still the agency's priorities."

While it may seem like mere conjecture, this is not the case.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielson confirmed the reports indicating she is encouraging

personnel to lodge criminal charges against sanctuary cities who refuse to abide by the

national law.

The Washington Times reported,

"Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen confirmed Tuesday that her department has

asked federal prosecutors to see if they can lodge criminal charges against sanctuary cities

that refuse to cooperate with federal deportation efforts.

"The Department of Justice is reviewing what avenues may be available," Ms. Nielsen

told the Senate Judiciary Committee. Her confirmation came after California's new sanctuary law

went into effect Jan. 1, severely restricting cooperation the state or any of its localities

could offer.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan says those policies put his officers

and local communities at more risk because they have to arrest illegal immigrants out

in the community.

Mr. Homan told The Washington Times last July that he wanted to see local officials charged

as complicit in human smuggling if they shielded illegal immigrants through sanctuary policies.

Mr. Homan repeated that demand in an interview with Fox News earlier this year, setting off

a firestorm of criticism."

While Democrats try and pitch the narrative that Republicans are anti-immigrant what it

is really about is what is best for America.

It has nothing to do with being anti-immigrant.

It is about making America great again.

Which means making sure people abide by the law and protecting the law.

Chief of Staff to the President, John Kelly recently told NPR exactly what the problem

is,

"Let me step back and tell you that the vast majority of the people that move illegally

into the United States are not bad people.

They're not criminals.

They're not MS-13.

. . . But they're also not people that would easily assimilate into the United States,

into our modern society.

They're overwhelmingly rural people.

In the countries they come from, fourth-, fifth-, sixth-grade educations are kind of

the norm.

They don't speak English; obviously that's a big thing.

. . . They don't integrate well; they don't have skills.

They're not bad people.

They're coming here for a reason.

And I sympathize with the reason.

But the laws are the laws.

. . . The big point is they elected to come illegally into the United States, and this

is a technique that no one hopes will be used extensively or for very long."

What Kelly had to say was not incorrect but the Democratic party doesn't want to say

that because they rely on their base, which is in large part made up of immigrants, to

vote for them.

So they continue these failed policies in order to remain in power.

However, it will not be staying around for much longer.

The times of catch and release are gone.

This new administration has made it clear they will not be doing things as usual and

they will be conducting a complete restoration of the immigration system.

Long gone are the days where immigration authorities and cities can get away with allowing illegal

aliens to remain in the United States without having come here properly and legally.

TOTAL CHAOS! Trump Officials Leak Stories About Each Other To Distract From Their Scandals - Duration: 2:45.

One of my favorite things to watch throughout the week is to see how many times Donald Trump

tell us that everything in his administration is running smoothly.

Everybody's getting along, everybody's doing great.

No chaos, no collusion, total witch hunt.

Everything's great lets go all have a picnic or something, right?

Well as it turns out things at the Trump administration, inside the White house, inside Federal Agencies

are actually so much worse than any of us even imagine.

According to a recent report, members of Scott Pruitt's office have been leaking stories

to the press, negative stories to the press about Interior Secretary, Ryan Zinke and members

of the Interior Department.

What's happening is that they're trying to distract the press from all of the scandals

of Scott Pruitt and the EPA by saying, "Yeah but look at this guy.

Look at Ryan Zinke.

Look how horrible he's doing over here and his spending scandals and things like that."

So right now inside the Trump administration, inside government agencies they're leaking

negative stories about one another to distract from their own scandals and crises.

This is total chaos folks.

This is not normal, this is not the way things in D.C. operate, even when they're doing horribly.

This is a new level of corruption and incompetence that we have not seen at least in my lifetime.

I mean I remember having to go out there and talk about the horribleness of the Bush administration

on a daily basis.

It never reached anything like this.

We have not seen these kinds of stories, we have not seen these kinds of scandals come

out of government agencies, again, at least in my lifetime.

And this all goes back to Trump man.

You know, him telling us he's going to drain the swamp, it's going to be great, we're going

to have only the best of the best.

You literally picked the worst people possible to serve within your administration.

You could not have done a worse job.

And now because each one of them is embroiled in their own individual scandal, they're trying

to take out the other person across from them, so that the press for a few days stops focusing

on all of the horrible things that they have done.

This is your swamp, Mr. Trump.

You own this, you filled it, so you get to live with the repercussions of appointing

the worst people possible to run your government for you.

CONFIRMED Mueller Caught Making MASSIVE Anti Trump Move – FIRE HIM NOW! - Duration: 13:19.

CONFIRMED: Mueller Caught Making MASSIVE Anti-Trump Move – FIRE HIM NOW!

The Special Counselor for the Russia investigation, Robert Mueller, has added multiple Left-leaning

attorneys to the Russia-Trump investigation committee.

Now, he's added Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Goldstein, according to NBC News.

We're NOT looking at a coincidence here.

Goldstein used to work for Preet Bharara, who was fired by President Trump after refusing

to resign.

What are the chances — out of EVERYONE involved — that Goldstein would get pulled into this

mix?

Right after the news broke, Preet Bharara took to his Twitter to congratulate Goldstein:

"Andrew Goldstein, my corruption chief, joins Special Counsel Mueller.

Best of best in every way.

Fair, tough, smart."

It seems like Bharara has a lot of confidence in Goldstein.

It's worth wondering if this is all part of a bigger plan to undermine the president.

We wouldn't put ANYTHING past the Democrats at this point.

You should know that there's a good chance of this being a setup.

If you need any evidence, turn on your T.V., and jump over to a mainstream media channel

to see what they're talking about.

It'll just be a constant barrage of Trump propaganda, and it never stops.

There's no integrity in journalism anymore.

People report whatever they need to report to appease their bosses.

The "committee" Mueller is putting together seems to be made up of people who openly talk

about their dislike for the president.

Now, they're going to really go after president Trump.

Something AWFULLY fishy is going on here.

There's a bigger plot here — not to just remove Trump from office, but to gain complete

control of our country.

We've all witnessed crimes against our freedom.

It's evident that the left want to do everything they can to get Trump out of office, but oddly

enough, it's like they forgot — getting Trump out means Pence goes in.

Mike Pence, the Vice President, would become President of the United States.

Would the left just start the character assaults once again when it dawned on them that Hillary

wouldn't show up on a red carpet with a crown on her head?

If they think they can overrule the will of the PATRIOTS of this country, they have another

thing coming!

Trump's DHS Secretary Shocks 2 1 Million Illegals — Obama And Dems Go Ballistic - Duration: 11:10.

Trump's DHS Secretary Shocks 2.1 Million Illegals — Obama And Dems Go Ballistic

As Democrats continue to drag their feet and play the obstruction game, it's high time

for the Trump administration to play a little hard ball to get things down.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly has done just that by informing

members of Congress that the administration will not be bending over backwards to defend

President Barack Obama's 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals "amnesty" program

from legal challenges.

Kelly dropped that news on members of the Democrat Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and

he has just a simple request for them to make sure the bill survives.

In short, Kelly wants members of Congress to start playing ball on an immigration bill

that makes actual sense.

Conservative Tribune has the scoop.

Speaking in a closed-door meeting with members of the predominately Democrat Congressional

Hispanic Caucus, Kelly informed them that if they wanted to ensure the amnesty program

survived, they'd have to engage with Republicans in a bipartisan compromise immigration bill

to protect the illegals legislatively.

That seems like a fairly simple request, but you can be sure that blood is boiling on the

Left as a result of the firm stance.

That tends to happen when the temperature gets turned up to uncomfortable levels.

Reaction to the news has been mixed, to say the least.

"This is what he's being told by different attorneys, that if it goes to court it might

not survive," DHS spokesman David Lapan said regarding Kelly's remarks.

Should Congress not pass a bill protecting the program, "they're leaving it in the

hands of the courts to make a decision."

That was simply too much for a "visibly shaken" Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez, who

dramatically proclaimed in both English and Spanish of the attorney general, "Jeff Sessions

is going to say, 'Deport them.'

If you're going to count on Jeff Sessions to save DACA, then DACA is ended."

Democrats will undoubtedly twist Kelly's simple request using their patented fear-mongering

tactics.

Based on recent patterns of behavior from the party, it's safe to say that they'll

overplay their hand yet again.

In a perfect world, the Trump administration will continue to apply pressure on Democratic

leaders to actually start getting things done.

As the obstructionists in congress continue to act like petulant children, the time for

playing nice is over.

Donald Trump Is Holding One Secret About Robert Mueller That No One Expected - Duration: 2:49.

Donald Trump Is Holding One Secret About Robert Mueller That No One Expected

The media believes the walls are closing in on Donald Trump.

Every day pundits will speculate about the President's legal and political danger that

the Mueller investigation is closing in on.

But Trump is holding one secret about Robert Mueller that reveals the shocking truth.

Trump is not worried about the Mueller probe.

Despite the media speculation, Trump is not expecting to be impeached or indicted any

day.

John Kelly, the President's chief of staff, revealed in an interview that the investigation

is more a source of embarrassment than worry.

The Daily Caller reports:

"PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP IS "SOMEWHAT EMBARRASSED" ABOUT THE RUSSIA INVESTIGATION, WHITE HOUSE

CHIEF OF STAFF JOHN KELLY SAID IN A CANDID NEW INTERVIEW.

SPEAKING TO NPR, KELLY WAS ASKED WHETHER THE RUSSIA PROBE HAS CAST A CLOUD OVER TRUMP'S

ADMINISTRATION.

"IT MAY NOT BE A CLOUD, BUT CERTAINLY THE PRESIDENT IS, YOU KNOW, SOMEWHAT EMBARRASSED,

FRANKLY," SAID KELLY, A RETIRED MARINE GENERAL.

"WHEN WORLD LEADERS COME IN, IT'S KIND OF LIKE, YOU KNOW, [ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER]

BIBI NETANYAHU IS HERE, AND HE, WHO'S UNDER INVESTIGATION HIMSELF; AND IT'S LIKE, YOU

KNOW, YOU WALK IN AND YOU KNOW THE FIRST COUPLE OF MINUTES OF EVERY CONVERSATION MIGHT REVOLVE

AROUND THAT KIND OF THING."

THE RUSSIA INVESTIGATION, WITH SPECIAL COUNSEL ROBERT MUELLER LEADING THE CHARGE, HAS LED

TO TWO PLEA DEALS AND SEVERAL INDICTMENTS AGAINST TRUMP CAMPAIGN ASSOCIATES.

BUT SO FAR, THE INVESTIGATION HAS NOT AVAILED THE PUBLIC RELEASE OF ANY EVIDENCE OF TRUMP'S

INVOLVEMENT IN A COLLUSION CONSPIRACY.

THE REPUBLICAN HAS MOSTLY BEEN DEFIANT ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION, CALLING IT A "WITCH HUNT"

GINNED UP BY HIS POLITICAL OPPONENTS.

KELLY DID SAY HE DOUBTS WHETHER THE RUSSIA INVESTIGATION WILL FIND ANY EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION

BETWEEN THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN AND RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT.

"SOMETHING THAT HAS GONE ON THIS LONG WITHOUT ANY REAL MEAT ON THE BONE, IT SUGGESTS TO

ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THERE, RELATIVE TO OUR PRESIDENT," KELLY SAID WHEN ASKED WHETHER

HE AGREES WITH TRUMP THAT THE RUSSIA INVESTIGATION IS A "WITCH HUNT."

Kelly's interview gives the first insight into the White House's private view of the

Mueller probe and how it is affecting their ability to govern.

There is no sense of impending doom from the President, nor has the probe succeeded in

grinding the administration to a halt.

Instead, the President and his team are treating it like a necessary nuisance.

REPORT Trump Prepares For Criminal Investigation Into Comey And Mueller - Duration: 11:09.

REPORT: Lawsuit Was Just Filed Seeking Removal

For Robert Mueller As Special Counsel

There's no doubting where the loyalties of Special Counsel Robert Mueller lie.

Rober Mueller is having pressure from all sides and his problems are just getting worse!

It's not just a "bad week" for Hillary and the Democrat Party, it's a tide-turning

event, leaving the Democrats and Hillary in ruins.

A complaint has been filed against Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher

Wray, seeking the removal of special counsel Robert Mueller from the Justice Department's

investigation into Russian meddling.

The suit, filed by lawyer Larry Klayman, founder of the conservative watchdog group FreedomWatch,

said "it is a criminal offense to leak grand jury information" and demands that Mueller

to be removed.

It alleges that Mueller has "politicized the investigation," due to the fact he has

hired Democrats for his investigative team.

"Robert Mueller is not a 'man of integrity' as the Washington, D.C., Democrat and Republican

political establishment like to spin.

He is just another pol who is representing his establishment benefactors in both political

parties who want to see the presidency of Donald Trump destroyed," Klayman said.

The Hill reported:

More recently, conservative media and others on the right have drawn attention to Mueller's

time as FBI director, questioning why he didn't alert regulators that a subsidiary of a foreign

uranium mining company was under investigation before a controversial deal for the sale of

the company to a Russia-owned firm was approved.

"He must be held accountable to

the law

and should not be able to

do

as he pleases to further his and his friends, like

former FBI Director James Comey's, political agenda," Klayman said.

"We are hopeful that the court will order Justice to do its job and conduct an

expeditious

and impartial investigation and then order Mueller to step down as special

counsel.

There are others, perhaps who practice outside of the Washington, D.C., swamp, who could

step in and do an honest

and conflict-free investigation of so-called Russian collusion."

Trump-Kim Jong Un summit Nauert: US expectations are clear to North Korea - Duration: 10:29.

let's bring in Heather now are the acting Undersecretary of State for

public diplomacy and public affairs and she used to work with us here on Fox and

Friends hey Heather it's so good to see you

good morning Ainsley great to see all of you thank you all right so let's set the

stage for Singapore what can we expect well this administration has made more

progress in the past eight weeks then we have then the government has in the past

eight years in getting North Korea to denuclearize so this is a tremendous

step in the right direction under president Trump's leadership and now

secretary Pompeo is as well so as we look ahead to the next to the the summit

meeting that's set to take place in Singapore you can expect a lot of

planning there a lot of logistics that are involved in planning that we

secretary Pompeo set sort of the expectations that we have for North

Korea to denuclearize he made our expectations very well-known in his

talks with Kim jong-un and so between now and then just a lot of conversations

about how those meetings will go down so there's a story out today that says that

apparently it sounds like the North Koreans are removing some of the extra

buildings at some of their testing sites over there and it's you know it's

unclear to the the person who wrote this story why they're doing it I bet you

know more about that than whoever wrote the news story

well it's something I actually can't confirm at this time we watched those

situations very carefully the overall United States government does we think

that they are they've certainly Kim jong-un has pledged to do the right

thing others have said that they would

denuclearize that's what we are pushing for we are going for that our

expectations are clear in the administration policy is well known by

the North Koreans well the former CIA director John

Brennan thinks your chance or the president's chance or secretary pompeius

chance of actually getting North Korea to denuclearize is very very low listen

to what he had to say okay I hope that a summit meeting is going to result in a

deal equation of the Korean Peninsula what are the odds I think they're

probably you know less than 0.1% than 0.1% so he's predicting 99.9% failure in

this outcome yeah look here's what I can say we are committed

to doing this the North Koreans have made some good faith calls it was

certainly a good faith effort in letting are releasing our American prisoners

earlier this week we were tremendously proud to bring those folks home look we

are realistic and clear-eyed about this but it doesn't mean that we aren't going

to make every effort and every attempt to fulfill president Trump's policy of

denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula we're a long way from that but we're

certainly going to make all of our efforts and the sanctions are not going

to come off until they do that right absolutely not this administration came

in very early on and designed the maximum pressure campaign on North Korea

we were joined by many other countries around the world to put sanctions on

North Korea and also other entities to try to get them to force them to

denuclearize we have seen those sanctions working we believe that that

is what has brought them to the table our allies back us on that and are in

agreement with us on that so we're pushing it in the right direction but

those sanctions will not come off until denuclearization happens well a couple

of days ago you were with Mike Pompeo and I know we're kind of kidding you

know we saw the the still images but what was it like on the ground with Kim

jong-un yeah so so first let me start off by telling you a little bit about

what it was like when our American prisoners came on the plane and try to

picture this guys in North Korea we're at the Pyongyang Airport and these three

men are walking onto a plane that says United States of America across that

plane how incredible just that taste of freedom they walked on board we each got

an opportunity to take a look at them to shake their hands and say welcome home

even though we were still on North Korean soil they were then under the

appropriate the protection of the United States of America they said to us there

they looked us right in the eyes and said god Bless America and we are so

proud to be Americans we all cheered up we all choked up it was an incredible

moment so I mean that really for me as an American and for someone who

represents the State Department in this administration was the highlight of the

week the entire reason we did go there though was to set the table for

president Trump's meeting with Kim jong-un later next month and

so the secretary secretary Pompeo made a tremendous amount of progress in

planning for that meeting I was not in the meeting with him along with Kim

jong-un there was just one other u.s. official but we believe we made some

progress on that front Heather are there any demands we've made

up front that the North Koreans have not agreed to yet or haven't haven't said is

it possible you know we're still in the planning stages here but we've made it

very clear complete irreversible verifiable denuclearization we've made

that clear all along that that is our goal and many other countries around the

world completely back us up in that way Heather as far as those hostages are

concerned what are they what were they like do they have family members here do

they have kids and did you find out what was in that note that one of them handed

to Mike Pompeo yes so I read that I understand that a psalm was handed to to

vice president pence I've not seen it myself so I'm not familiar with what

exactly is in that but these are men of faith and that was very important to

them they do have families here in the United States the United States citizens

I know my consular affairs colleagues have the opportunity to give those

family members a call and let them know that they're American prisoners their

family members now the freed Americans as I like to call them we're on their

way home can you imagine getting that phone call from the United States

government saying hey we have your dad we have your husband we have your

brother so we reached out to them I know that some of those families were on

their way to Washington DC to be reunited there now private citizens so

I'm not going to be able to talk about what's ahead for them but I know they're

certainly glad to be reunited with their families and back home on safe ground

did they mention to you about their treatment I did not ask them personally

about that as you have to imagine it's an extremely sensitive situation when

they're coming on board the plane a sunlight was something that some of them

had not even had exposure to so our goal was to just give them their space give

them their space and they spent time with our State Department and White

House doctors also psychiatrists so they were the main points of contact with

these men on the flights home so that they could take care of them we didn't

want to pro but I'm sure some of those conversations will be had in the coming

days their treatment what they experienced and what their goals are for

the future what a week I mean between the hostages

and then a couple days earlier it was pulling the plug on the Iran deal of

course now the sanctions kick back they snap back but we really need the help of

our European allies because if they just pretend yeah it's business as usual then

this thing is not going to work well and that's the entire reason that President

Trump made the decision to pull out of the Iranian nuclear deal the Iranian

nuclear deal only dealt with one small part some would call it significant but

one part of Iran's bad behavior and that is its interest in a nuclear program

forgetting about all the bad activities that Iran is involved with all around

the world we see the news we watch the news carefully out of Syria where Iran

it's Revolutionary Guard Corp and also Hezbollah are attacking our ally Israel

they are doing lots of bad things around the world we see Iran backing the Houthi

rebels in Yemen shooting missiles and rockets into into Saudi Arabia are close

strategic partner they're doing lots of bad things around the world that the

United States intends to hold them to account for now our next step is to talk

with our European allies and others to say let's look at Iran through the

totality of his bad acts and not just through a one narrow slice the nuclear

deal well Heather Nancy Pelosi not surprisingly does not agree listen to

what she says okay deal without the agreement Iran was on the path to have a

nuclear weapon in one or two years so to those who keep saying this is important

for us to stop them from getting a weapon way down the road you have just

given them license to go forward in a year or two we take an oath to protect

and defend that is our first responsibility I do not think the

president is honoring that oath by what he did

so she says the bomb is more likely now well look we have seen Iran lie and lie

again they have not been good actors and all of this you just saw the documents

that Israel was able to obtain out of Iran the United States has taken a look

at those documents we believe those to be authentic we've seen that regime lie

in the past so we certainly would have questions

about its commitment to the nuclear deal all right then on Monday another another

historic thing is happening checking off all these boxes the US Embassy in

Jerusalem is set to open what are your comments on that yes so this is

something that the president president Trump talked about on the campaign trail

the importance of opening an embassy in Jerusalem we are pleased that our Deputy

Secretary of State John Sullivan will be leading the delegation secretary

minuchin will be there as well as Jared and Ivanka Trump are joining there as

well so we're very proud and pleased a president Trump's accomplishment in

doing this it's something he promised and now something that he is fulfilling

well it's something a lot of presidents have promised but this is the first time

it's actually happened heather Nauert who once upon a time was our news anchor

and she'd get up at 2 o'clock in the morning and now she's a big shot at the

State Department and she never goes to sleep that's right thank you so much and

it's just I just have to tell you it is such an honor to be a part of this State

Department and this administration and it makes it all worthwhile when you can

be oh and I could be just a small part of helping to bring these Americans home

I can't tell you guys I mean this has made this career change for me entirely

worth it what a meaningful experience very cool and happy Mother's Day I thank

you thank you look forward to seeing my family all

right take care all right you
