President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have plenty to talk about in their

upcoming summit.

And it's going to take a lot of talking to get them on the same page.

On paper, the U.S. and North Korea are entering the meeting with similar goals.

Both countries have said they want peace between North and South Korea as well as a denuclearized

Korean peninsula.

But the two sides have different ideas about how to get there.

The U.S. wants North Korea to dismantle its nuclear weapons program as soon as possible.

Until that happens, Trump says he's reluctant to let up on the strict sanctions against

the North.

White House officials say Trump's recent withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal shows the U.S.

won't accept an agreement that doesn't completely denuclearize North Korea.

That's not going to go over well with Kim.

North Korea envisions denuclearization as a gradual process that's accompanied by reciprocal

measures from the U.S.

The country might be looking to exchange nuclear capability for relief from international economic

sanctions — though North Korea denies those sanctions are what drove it to negotiate.

It's also possible Kim is looking for legitimacy on the world stage.

Regardless of how it goes, Kim could use the summit as evidence that his regime is strong

and stable enough to bring the U.S. president to the table.

Denuclearization will be the main focus of the meeting, but it's possible some other

issues might come up.

The North could try to nudge Trump toward reducing the U.S. troop presence in South

Korea, and advocates want Trump to press Kim on North Korea's grim human rights record.

In what is starting to look more like an attempt at an overthrow of a sitting President in

the United States of America, NBC News is not reporting that federal investigators have

allegedly wiretapped the phone lines of President Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

This frightening report goes on to cite one source with direct knowledge who confirmed

that at least one call between the White House and a phone line which is associated with

Cohen was indeed intercepted.

If this is true this could very well raise dramatic issues if any conversation between

Cohen and Trump were gathered by investigators, who appear to seek revenge because their preferred

candidate lost the 2016 election.

The report goes on to state that it's unknown just how long the wiretap had been in place

and when it was actually authorized, but it's believed to have been in place enough time

to have led up to the FBI raid on Cohen.

All this is breaking as Rudy Giuliani has joined President Trump's legal team.

Here is more on Giuliani's reaction via The Hill: "The president reportedly called

Cohen to check in after the raid.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Trump's newest personal lawyer, learned

of the call days later and warned Trump not to call Cohen again because he feared he could

be under surveillance, according to two sources who spoke to NBC.

Giuliani reacted angrily to the new report during an interview with The Washington Post.

"It's not appropriate," he said.

"I mean, he's a lawyer.

You mean, I call up my lawyer and the government is wiretapping him?

That's pretty damn — I mean, they've already eviscerated the attorney-client privilege.

This would make a mockery of it."

Giuliani could not confirm independently whether Cohen was wiretapped, according to Post reporter

Robert Costa, who spoke with the ex-mayor.

The wiretap report comes at a time when Trump's legal troubles are deepening, causing the

president to reshuffle his team of attorneys in order to push back harder against special

counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the Russia investigation, and the Justice Department.

Cohen is under investigation for paying adult film-star Stormy Daniels $130,000 ahead of

the 2016 presidential election to stay silent about her alleged affair with Trump.

The investigation was triggered, in part, by a referral from Mueller's team.

Giuliani said on Fox News Wednesday night that Trump reimbursed Cohen for the payment,

a claim he believed could limit the president's legal exposure in the probe but also contradicted

past claims by Trump that he knew nothing about the arrangement.

Citing two sources, NBC reported Giuliani told Trump that Cohen is likely to flip on

him and cooperate with investigators.

But Trump disagreed, saying that Cohen has been loyal to him for years.

"Michael is a businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected," Trump

tweeted in late April.

"Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if it means

lying or making up stories.

Sorry, I don't see Michael doing that despite the horrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest

media!"

The President is said to be furious about all this.

A person should be allowed to talk to his own personal attorney in private without being

stalked.

They originally tried to figure out if candidate Trump had colluded with the Russians and they

have already ruled that narrative out.

Now they keep trying to find something else in order to remove the president from office.

Here is more on this breaking story via USA Today: "White House Press Secretary Sarah

Sanders referred questions about the wiretap to the President's outside counsel.

One of Trump's attorneys, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, told The Washington

Post that he was not informed about any wiretaps but was livid after seeing the news.

"It's not appropriate.

I mean, he's a lawyer.

You mean, I call up my lawyer and the government is wiretapping him?," Giuliani told the

Post.

"They've already eviscerated the attorney-client privilege.

This would make a mockery of it."

Laurence Tribe, a Harvard Law School professor, said the process to get a wiretap on the president

would have been incredibly difficult.

"To get a warrant to wiretap Michael Cohen's phone conversations, the FBI had to comply

with highly stringent rules and standards," he wrote on Twitter.

It's unclear what information was uncovered during the reported wiretaps and who was on

the phone during the call between Cohen's phone and a line at the White House.

The new details come just hours after Trump admitted to paying back Cohen for the now

infamous hush payment to Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford.

Trump had previously denied knowing about the payment.

The president said on Twitter Thursday the agreement was "used to stop the false and

extortionist accusations made by her about an affair," adding it was not at all associated

with his campaign.

While Trump and Giuliani, who first announced the payback on Fox News Wednesday evening,

stressed that the Daniels money came from personal funds, legal analysts said it could

be considered an in-kind campaign political contribution because it came right before

the election.

That would make it subject to campaign finance laws, and Trump's team never reported the

payment."

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is officially on the radar of every single conservative

in America… or so you would think.

After his investigation into the allegations that President Trump colluded with Russia

in the 2016 presidential election turned into a full on "witch hunt" (as President Trump

has stated), how could anyone defend the guy?

Well, four Republican senators have just jumped ship and abandoned the Republican Party, Donald

Trump, & The US Constitution, all to defend Mueller's above the law witch hunt.

It has been more than a year since Mueller began his investigation into Trump, and exactly

zero evidence of Trump colluding with Russia (whatever that even means, as 'collusion'

is not even a crime) has been found or at least presented to the public.

President Trump has even been told that he is not the subject of the investigation, and

Mueller has been forced to stoop so low as to raid Trump's personal lawyer's office

for things that have nothing to do with collusion at all.

Mueller is clearly trying to take down President Trump any way he can.

There is no way around it.

It has become evident.

It would seem obvious that Congressional Republicans would uphold and defend the Constitution.

You would think that they would be familiar with what the Constitution says.

The Constitution allows Trump the right to fire Mueller.

They should know that much.

Clearly these four Republicans don't care about the Constitution, as they have just

voted to protect Mueller from Trump.

Passing such a bill would essentially put Mueller above the President of The United

States, basically making him 'King' of America, unaccountable to the Executive.

BizPac Review reported that four Republican Senators sided with 10 Democrat senators to

ensure that the proposal succeeds.

Known anti-Trump Arizona Senator Jeff Flake was in on it along with GOP South Carolina

Senator Lindsay Graham North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis, and Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.

With a 14-7 vote in favor, the measure passed.

Dissensions came from GOP senators after the mainstream media hyped up the possibility

of President Trump firing Mueller.

President Trump has only ever stated, "We'll see what happens" in reference to the possibility

of firing Mueller.

Americanewsdaily.org reports, "The seven Republicans who voted against the bill are:

Sens. Orrin Hatch (Utah), Mike Lee (Utah), John Cornyn (Texas), Mike Crapo (Idaho), Ben

Sasse (Neb.), Ted Cruz (Texas) and John Kennedy (La.).

The bill is sponsored by Sens. Chris Coons, D-Del., Cory Booker, D-N.J., Graham and Tillis,

and would codify Department of Justice regulations that say only a senior DOJ official can fire

Mueller or another special counsel, according to The Hill."

Why doesn't it surprise me that Lindsey Graham and Jeff Flake are behind this?

It is so unlikely that Trump will fire Mueller in the first place.

It's just another headache that he doesn't need to deal with.

It would be unconstitutional for Congress to prevent President Trump from firing Special

Counsel Robert Mueller, who is probing Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election.

I'm not saying that firing Mueller would be a wise move politically, nor am I urging

the president to do so.

That's another issue.

But under the Constitution, it is beyond the power of Congress to limit or impose conditions

on any president's authority to remove a political appointee within the Justice Department

or any other department in the executive branch.

It doesn't matter if you feel that Trump is the best President ever or if you feel

that he is the worst President ever, he still has the right to fire Mueller, according to

the Constitution.

Mueller has gone far beyond the scope of the Trump/Russia investigation.

He has begun to arbitrarily target people who align themselves with Trump.

Graham, Flake, Tillis, and all the rest of the anti-Trump scum in Washington are set

on enforcing their agenda, no matter if they have to subvert the Constitution to do so

or not.

Henry Leland so the Sun is up you're still up what can you tell us about the

arrival Steve Brian Ainsley it is not often the president United States is up

at 3:00 a.m. for a happy reason but he certainly was overnight and you can

really see these ear-to-ear smiles not only on the president but also of course

president's Twitter account of him going on to the Air Force plane that brought

them back all the way across the Pacific from Japan to Anchorage Alaska and then

here to Joint Base Andrews he went on the planes at hello to him brought them

members of the Air Force there they talked to the media very briefly one

detainee said it was like a dream being home said while he was in North Korea he

was forced to do a lot of hard labor into that and the the detainees were put

on a bus and taken right to Walter Reed Medical Center it appeared as though

physically they were doing pretty well the big question is sort of what

emotional state they're in and that's something that's a psychologist at

Walter Reed are gonna start dealing with sort of reimbursing them back in to the

American culture and begin debrief them from their experience in North

Korea President Trump clearly made bringing these three men

home a priority especially after seeing what happened to another American inside

North Korea it was a very important thing to all of us to be able to get

these three great people out and I must tell you I want to pay my warmest

respects to the parents of otto warmbier who is a great young man who who really

suffered had Joyce made Andrews you had the President the Vice President the

Secretary of State huddling for about 20 minutes debriefing the Secretary of

State's meeting with Kim jong-un and now guys begins the strategy sessions for

how that summit will happen next month back to you guys

was gonna be happening next and you guys filled it great I thought it was kind of

interesting what happened before they got on the plane evidently it's a

12-hour visit for the Secretary of State at which time he had a 90 visit a nine

ninety minute visit with Kim jong-un this is his second one in a matter of

weeks so this is pretty significant they're making some big gains and you

never know in the past we have sent over former presidents and important people

like Bill Richardson and Bill Clinton and you didn't know of you coming back

with the hostage so it could have been a humiliating experience for you well like

most of us y'all were sleeping in the middle of the night I woke up this

morning immediately went to the TV because I wanted to see this image right

there and it was a little after 2:00 I said I know that you know these images

are gonna be all over the TV what a great look at that it's amazing after

interviewing the warm beers parents you know all saw that interview right here

on Fox & Friends to know what he went through and to see these three Americans

just we all needed to see it for ourselves that they were in good health

and they hold up the peace sign that's the American pastor yeah and the other

two are educators involved in universities over there

they were all held for spine on North Korea or stealing state secrets and

hostile acts against North Korea nonetheless this is setting the table

for the president probably sitting down with Kim jong-un in Singapore

in the next couple of weeks and his ultimate goal well we found that out

last night at about 3:10 in the morning when he walked over with those three men

and talked to the media for 7 minutes and 10 seconds my proudest achievement

will be this is a part of it but will be when we he nuclearized that entire

Peninsula this is what people have been waiting for for a long time nobody

thought we could be on this track in terms of speed so I'm very honored to

have helped the three folks the true honor is going to be if we have a

victory in getting rid of nuclear weapons

we very much appreciate that he allowed them go before the meeting it was sort

of understood that we'd be able to get these three terrific people during the

meeting and bring them home after the meeting we're starting off on a new

footing this is a wonderful thing that he released the folks early that was a

big thing very important to me and I really think we have a very good chance

of doing something very meaningful and if anybody would have said that five

years ago ten years ago even a year ago you would have said that's not possible

so a lot I will say this a lot of very good things have happened no kidding

a so measured for a president that sometimes could get ahead of himself or

I feel free willing with this he has been so buttoned up I'm not raising

anyone's expectations we're a place we haven't been before I'm encouraged from

bargaining chips so you would think that they would keep them until the summit

but no they've really as of 3 o'clock this morning back here

gonna happen I I would have been surprised would not have expected that

it could happen so I'm pleased that it has I think it offers the possibility of

significant progress I think we have to be very careful and I think the

president is being very careful to go operate in a way that we don't get so

too hung out to dry if they don't meet our standards then I'd walk what's

interesting is we look back at the president's first term he you know he

brought in a lot of outsiders as his national security team and he did pretty

much exactly what they said he added troops in Afghanistan he delayed the

plans to move the Israeli embassy and then he hung on to the Iranian nuke deal

now he's got a new foreign policy team in there with Pompeo and also Bolton and

he's going more with his gut because he is essentially trying to get global

leaders to do what other presidents previously had been unable to do and

that's where we are right now yeah and the next big thing they were gonna be

talking about is the whole standoff with China they're sending somebody here now

on trade 2 week so last week we were in China trying to work something out so

that's his other thing that everyone said don't start a trade war because I'm

not but this traded balance has got to change but behind the scenes President

Xi was sitting down with mister Kim Jong on last week you know it's part of that

maximum pressure thing where that probably had a lot to do with the

release of those three men over there the other drama that took place

yesterday was on Capitol Hill where Gina Haspel put her best foot forward to be

the next CIA director maybe the most qualified nominee that we've ever seen

in our lifetime but if there was pushback obviously over the enhanced

interrogation and as was pointed out earlier in the show they didn't bring up

Russia didn't bring up our on didn't bring up the challenges of China and

militarizing the South China Sea it was all about what happened in 2003 and many

of the lawmakers then were the same law make

questioning yeah so keep in mind back in 2013 when John Brennan was sitting in

that seat and he was being questioned by these same senators he was her boss at

the time number four overall at the sea that's right the questions that they

posed to him in 2013 totally different than the questions that they posed to

her there's three senators that questioned both of them watch the

difference I think it is also important and these wee questions that I'll be

asking as well to ensure that while we look at the programs the CIA that these

programs effectiveness be measured objectively and not simply by those who

are charged with implementing them many people and I include myself a member

have questions about the message the Senate would be sending by confirming

someone for this position who served as a supervisor in the counterterrorism

center during the time of rendition detention and interrogation programs

it's incredibly important for the CIA to be as open to be totally open with this

committee the reason is that there's no one else watching typically in this in

this in our country we have the public is involved the press is involved was it

a matter of coincidence that you that this decision was made to destroy the

tapes in the same week that two major stories appeared in American newspapers

to a great deal of public interest just that week in the whole interrogation

question mr. Brennan is without a doubt qualified for this position he served at

the CIA for 25 years in analytic operational and managerial capacities

you are very unique you have 30 years of undercover experience accordingly we ask

the agency that your records be declassified I think I signed three

letters in that regard to make an informed decision and ultimately Brennan

was confirmed and some of the senators who were there then and are still there

he was confirmed by Senator Warner senator Feinstein Heinrich Collins King

burr mansion Wyden and vo how many of them will be voting for

her given the fact that they gave her boss who was in charge back

waterboarding and in enhanced interrogation the thumbs up a couple of

years ago I thought she was great and I thought she was strong and while she was

also proud of what you accomplished in keeping America safe and stopping the

next attack that goes following bottom line is she does not consider enhanced

interrogation torture number two is it worked you don't get bin Laden without

it and most of these senators know it and they felt they didn't stop it when

they were there like senator Feinstein Feinstein Feinstein who's been there for

ages now all of a sudden she comes out and she has questions about what state

what happened with chaos Tom they did do the enhanced interrogation on chaos

sound when it was legal when you could do that and then that led us to the

courier that was talking to bin Laden we followed that courier and then got bin

Laden as a result and easie you made a great point right there and that was

everything that she did at that point was she said orders look they changed

the rules Congress changed their you know interpretation of what enhanced

interrogation should be and what torture is but back when they did it keep in

thank you thank you all for being here today I'm honored to host everyone at

the White House to celebrate your mother's please sit down

Mother's Day which is this Sunday we celebrated just one time per year I

don't know but about all of you but I think mothers should be celebrated each

and every day as a mother myself I know what goes into raising a child it takes

an incredible amount of strength a lot of time a generous amount of patience

and all of your love as moms we are so incredibly privileged to be able to

bring children into this world and be part of helping them grow into adults

children bring us endless amount of both joy and fear they fill us with pride

through their tree arms and they love us in a manner that only other mothers can

understand because of the powerful bond between a mother and her child when they

feel emotions so do we whether they are happy or nervous sad or excited we feel

those things with them I think it is one of the most powerful and beautiful parts

of motherhood today I want to take this opportunity to let you all know that

other mothers for members of the military community

you deserve recognition for not only your love for your child children but

for the dedication and sacrifice you make on behalf of our country each and

every day I know I speak on behalf of my husband the vice president and mrs.

Spence when I tell you how much this administration supports all those who

serve which includes not only those who are enlisted

but their families - in closing I want to thank you all for your unique roles

as a military mother whether you are enlisted actively serving or if you have

a child in our military you are such a special part of this country for all

that you give I hope you enjoy today's performance by the United States Army

deployments and some of them are much longer than you ever bargained for you

routinely move your families around the country and all over the world you

maintain morale in your family and across the military community your

support is essential to making our military the mightiest fighting force in

the world and getting stronger all the time we just approved 700 billion

dollars for our military

we're going to be having the best equipment ever now and next year 716

billion dollars I wanted to let you now

and by the way I know you don't care about this but that also includes raises

for our military so I know that first time in ten years your love resilience

and courage uplifts our heroes and indeed our nation we are forever in your

debt I also want to thank all of the spouses here today who are serving in

uniform you are an inspiration to us all a great inspiration today

today I'm here to tell you that my administration is totally committed to

every family that serves in the United States Armed Forces

that is why earlier this year I was proud to sign that big pay raise that

I've already spoken about and I am proud of it and I guess there'll be others too

would you like one sooner or do you want to wait another ten years I don't know

we're also taking action to expand employment opportunities for our great

military spouses and I know what you've gone through the competence is so high

and yet it's so difficult that's not going to happen anymore one of the

things that helps is our tremendous job situation in the United States we just

hit three point nine percent unemployment which is the biggest of

this century the best of this century so that helps that really helps a problem

but even beyond that you're going to be given treatment like never before as you

know the unemployment rate among military spouses of whom more than 90

percent are women is estimated to be four times higher than the unemployment

rate that I just spoke of but we are going to change that and we are going to

change it as quickly as we can it will go fast you've seen what we've done and

we will do it we get it done we're working with states across the country

to encourage them to remove licensing barriers so that spouses who work in

careers such as teaching nursing and law many others also can get a job in their

profession no matter where they move and in just a moment I will take executive

action to promote military spouse hiring across the federal government something

that people have wanted presidents to do for a long time military spouses have

already shown the utmost devotion to our nation and we want to show you our

devotion in return

we will now ensure that you have better access to federal jobs by taking this

action today we're leading by example and encouraging American businesses

across the country to expand job opportunities for our incredible and

talented and highly educated military spouses this includes opportunities to

work remotely which technology as you know has made more possible and more of

everything in life possible than ever before America owes a debt of gratitude

to our military spouses we can never repay you for all that you do we know

what you do and your spouse knows what you do we can never repay you for that

but we can and we will give you the opportunities you deserve today we take

one of many important actions to ensure that you are free to pursue your careers
