Question: Pirated movie on album and getting shared . How to report

Huge number of people watching pirated movie in one album . We need to report

Hi Shiva,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Photos Help Community.

If someone uses a shareable link to send you photos or videos that you believe violate Google policies, you can report them by following these steps:
  1. Open the photo or video in Google Photos.
  2. At the top right, select More , then Report abuse
  3. (If you don't see it, click Sign in. You need to be signed in to your Google Account to report something.)
  4. Choose the reason for your report.
  5. Select REPORT.
After we receive your report, we may review the offending content and take action. Actions we might take:
  • Restrict access to the offending content
  • Remove the offending content
  • Limit or terminate a violator's access to Google products
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best,
Nadia

Question: How to recover my photo

I want to my delete photo this very important for me now

Hello, Nurhasan Khan.

The first thing is to check if the images/videos are available in the web version of Google Photos. To do this, go to https://photos.google.com.

Look under the "Photos" menu, located in the left menu. If the images / videos do not appear, proceed to look for them in the "Trash".

If the resources you are looking for are there, just select them and click the "Restore" button.

Remember that images in the "Trash" are automatically deleted after 60 days. After this date it is not possible to recover them. If you delete the trash it will not be possible to recover the information.

Lastly, if the deletion process is foreign to Google Photos and responds to file management on mobile or desktop, I recommend using a file recovery app. On the Internet you can find different.

A beautiful day!

Question: Find the shared albums I have joined in the past.

I have contributed photos to shared albums created by other users. In my Google photos account, I only see the photos I have personally contributed, not the whole album. Also, I just recently know about the "add to albums" feature.

Is there an easy way to look at all the shared albums (those you don't created) that you have joined/contributed before.

I know I can access the specific link that was sent to me, but if there is a faster way to determine all these albums without looking for each links, that would be great! Thanks a lot.

Answer:

@Arvin
You can see all albums shared with you (if you "joined" them) in https://photos.google.com/sharing. But there you also see all albums you shared with others, and I do not know of a way to distinguish between both.

Answer:

Hi Peter,
"The owner is the first name underneath the album"
That seems correct for an album shared with you, but the albums I own and shared do not show me as owner: they show the first who "Joined" the album.
  • The left album is shared with me, and shows the owner.
  • I am the owner of the other album, Shorif joined it (he is the only one, I am the "other").

Answer:

Google Photos confounds again, all mine have the owner first.....

Answer:

@Peter
Trying to find out what makes the difference I found in my main account:
  • In my main account no album in https://photos.google.com/sharing shows a text starting with  "You".
  • I created a few new (shared) albums for testing:
    • Creating a link gives an album with text "Link shared" (not correct: I only created a link).
    • I shared with 1 user using the 'Share" icon: text changes to "2 people" (me and one invitee)
    • After the invitee "joined" the album, it became "name (of invitee) and 1 other (me, the owner)"
I did the same with another account, and there it seems to behave like yours:
??????????

Answer:

  1. Albums shared by me via Google show "You" as the first name.

  2. Albums shared towards me via Google show the name of the owner as the first name, like Peter...

  3. Albums shared via a link in mail don't show any names - just "Link shared".
On the main albumpage no names are shown - just the word "Shared" or nothing.

On Android the same.

Perhaps European habits :-)

Answer:

@Rinus
  1. Albums shared by me via Google show "You" as the first name.
I have 5 accounts, and they all behave like that, except my main account.  ?????????

  2. Albums shared towards me via Google show the name of the owner as the first name, like Peter...
    Same here.

  3. Albums shared via a link in mail don't show any names - just "Link shared".
... same here, but when anyone "joined" the album, it shows names, but in my main account not "You"
I wonder what makes my main account different. It's the only one with Face Grouping, and 2 are school accounts, but that does not seem a valid explanation.

It would be nice to have "Shared by you" and "Shared with you" in different tabs.

Answer:

Sorry Jan - can't be of much help because I only have a normal Gmail-account and I am not sharing very extensively. But I have no Faces indeed like normal in Europe.

But Arvin asked about the albums he has joined in the past and many of these albums will be removed by the owners because they were outdated.
Goodnight
