Hi, Malcome Larcens
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.
Regrettably, the Google Photos app doesn't provide any utility to remove a watermark.
I suggest you look for proprietary apps like Photoshop.

Answer:
When you open the photo in the Google Photos web app https://photos.google.com/ you can find some information about how the photo got there in the info of that photo. It says for example "Uploaded from Android device" or "Shared by ..." etc

I was previously using Google Desktop Uploader to backup all my Photo and Video from a folder on my Windows 10 server. This was working brilliantly, monitoring the folder for new content and uploading it to Google Photos.
At some point, the Desktop Uploader was depreciated with Backup and Sync, which at first appeared to be performing in a similar manner.
I added a load of new pictures and video yesterday, but noticed that he Backup and Sync client was not running, and when I launched it I was prompted to sign in. Once I did this I realised that it was scanning through ALL my media again, and started to upload 100,000+ files (~800GB).
I quickly checked Google Photos and Google Drive on the web and noticed that in Google Drive there is a My Computer (1) folder where the new files are being uploaded to.
I can find no way to stop this mechanism from happening, even through removing the backup and sync client and trying all manner of configurations. it seems whatever I do, my entire media catalogue will try to upload to Google Drive, even though the vast majority 95% of it is already in Google Photos.
My server is now taking an absolute battering, and my broadband bandwidth saturated with uploads which will take in excess of 8 days at 24/7. I've read elsewhere that it is just thumbnails being produced, but I am doubtful of that because the speed of sync is so slow. I am also receiving many notifications from Google Photos about "My latest film" and "animations are ready". i really hope I'm not going to end up with everything duplicated.

Warning: There are many complaints about "Free up space": some people did not know that possibly all photos would be deleted from the phone (when backed up), others claim that they lost photos or lost the original quality copy etc ... See also Google Photos "Free Up Space" command is scary

However, when downloading the pictures on my computer, they look washed out (both in terms of colours and details) compared to the version that is displayed in Google Photos on the same computer screen. Do you have an idea of what this could be due to? Thanks

Hi Paolo,
Thanks for your reply. The washed out photo is the one edited with Snapseed. The look is different when displayed in Google Photo (desired look from Snapseed) and when downloaded and opened in windows photo viewer (washed out) on the same pc screen. However, I noticed that on my iPhone the picture looks the same in Google Photos and when downloaded in the gallery.
I have tried your procedure but this gives me the same image than when I just download it from Google Photos. Any idea?
Best,
Andrea

Question: Recover deleted photos
I want restore my deleted photos
Hello there,
Welcome to the Google photos community
To restore your photos and videos I suggest you to follow the below steps:
If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it's there.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app
.
- At the bottom, tap Library
Trash
.
- Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
- At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
- In your phone's gallery app
- In your Google Photos library
- In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
Don't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can't restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
- You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
- You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
- You moved it to trash more than 30 days ago on an Android 11 and up device, and it wasn't backed up.
- You permanently deleted it from your trash.
- You permanently deleted it from your device's Gallery app, without backing it up first.
To find and recover photos easily, turn on back up & sync.
Hope This helps,
Thank you,
Have a good day.

Answer:
When you see an "Edit" icon (pencil) to the right of People in the info of a photo, you can add detected faces to a group or change wrongly grouped faces to the correct group. But unfortunately the edit option is not available in all regions, for example in Europe. We asked Google why, but did not get a satisfactory answer.
When editing is not available you can select the wrong photos, tap 3-dots > Remove results, hoping that Google will learn from it. But when both do appear you should not remove. Not very satisfying.
You can also create a normal album for one of them, add the photos you want and then remove the wrong ones from the wrong group.
