How do l set the order in which albums (& folders, on my phone) appear? G Photos seems to do this in a "last accessed" or "most accessed" way -either that, or totally at random- & [all of] these are incorrect.
Also -unbelievable as it sounds- that order seems to change at random! This is also unacceptable.
There seems to be no mechanism in any menu that addresses this.. is it even possible that none exists??? And if that is the case, how can the given protocols be overridden or rewritten?

I created a video on Google photos using both pictures and video. I added music from the My Music option. When I chose to save the updated video I get an error message flash "error downloading media". I did not have a problem saving the video with no music.  I checked the details on the video.  It reads as follows (without music) :
2.1MP.   1080 x 1920.   11 MB.
are any of the sizes limited and I'm over?  Does anyone know acceptable sizes to be able to add music? Please help!

I took a pic of the shirt I'm wearing, but can't seem to figure out how to edit it.... I need to reverse the image, mirror it, how do I do that? I have an Android, REVVL 5G , few yrs old, any and all suggestions welcome, ty!!!

Answer:

Hi, Dawnelle McDonald

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

You are expecting to mirror the photo & not rotate through 180 degrees.

However, the Google Photos app doesn't have this feature right now. However, you can do so through another app Snapseed.
To do so, please follow these steps.
  • Tap to open the photo
  • Tap Edit
  • Slide the menu bar with the leading tab "Suggestions" towards the left to reveal the option "More". Tap on that
  • Slide the menu bar with the leading tab "Markup" to reveal the option Snapseed. However, that will be available only when you have Snapseed installed on your phone.
  • Once in Snapseed, tap on the Tools option in the bottom row,
  • On the next screen, tap on "rotate".
  • You will see a filled and another hollow triangle juxtaposed in the bottom bar. Tap on that.
  • That will create a mirror image. Save this new edit.

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

I guess the problem is with the rear camera.

However, regretfully, your query is not related to any feature in the Google Photos app.

I suggest you look into the documentation provided by your phone's manufacturer.

I need 3 pictures of an identical item to make a collage of. Cannot seem to do that with the current settings. Can anyone help?

Answer:

Hmm. This is what I see.
Do you see the same, except "Save copy"?

Answer:

Thanks! That worked. I messed up and clicked the 3 bars (menu) not the 3 sliders (edit). Once I clicked on the 3 sliders I found the "save a copy"

Thanks again,
Frank

Was told that photos and documents taken before 6/1/2021 would not count toward storage total but it is still taken into account for my total storage.

Answer:

Hello Kelly,

Up to June 21, photos and videos backed up at High Quality qualified for free storage, Originals use full storage.

It may be possible to Recover storage at https://photos.google.com/settings  which compresses and replaces Original size with Storage Saver size.

Head over to https://photos.google.com/quotamanagement  This should give a clue on where the storage is being used. Large photos and videos >5MB are listed and can be reviewed by tapping on the thumbnail to open then select the (i)nfo icon to see more detail about the files.

All photos added after June 1st 2021 can be found at https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ and all use storage unless added as part of Partner sharing.

Regards,
Peter

Hi,

I tried to find the 1800 number but no luck connecting. I received a message from Google asking if I wanted to try the "Free Up Space" feature backing up my photos into Google Drive. I tried it but unbeknownst to me I didn't realize they would actually rip photos from my Android Samsung photo gallery! I'm extremely upset because Google just took photos at random and certain ones I wanted to keep. Of course I'm open to hiding or condensing some but I was never given the option of the originals I wanted to keep vs. the ones I don't mind giving up. How can I reverse this?

Sorry, but I am not sure what you ask.
If you want to hide the location where a photo was taken when you share a photo:
  1. Open the album
  2. Tap 3-dots > Options
  3. You should now see, and can turn ON/OFF:
        Share photo location
Let others see where your shared photos were taken.
