Hello all. Many of my photos have been replaced by videos that come from an old computer sceince course I took a few years back. These files will still bear the original date of the photo along with geolocation data, but the titles have all changed to the title of the video. Clicking on these simply plays the video. I attached screenshots of the issue so that you can see what is happening.



All of my photos from 2016 and around half from 2017 have been replaced in this way, around a few hundred files. Nothing has ever been in the trash (I keep everything except duplicates) and I haven't used the Archive feature because I pay for 2TB space and have plenty of room for years. The geolocation data for these photos either show the Memphis, Tennessee area where I lived when taking these photos until mid-2017, and these videos that replaced the photos are from a course I took in 2018 when I lived in another state. I thought that maybe these files would share creation dates, but sure enough when I opened my computer course folder all of those date from the same semester in 2018. 

I am at a loss to know how this happened, but is there any way of restoring my photos? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Sure. Albums do not contain photos, they just show photos that are in the library. A photo can be in multiple albums, but there is still only one copy in the library. Thus:

• When you remove it from an album, or delete an album, it stays in the library and all other albums
