What you are saying is odd. I can successfully both drag and drop and use UPLOAD for multiple images. I am using Windows 10 and the Chrome Browser.

Is there any chance that you have some ~funny browser extension or anti-virus product interfering with how it works?

If I want to drag and drop images from my files onto  face book or any site the drop down shows the photos , I can highlight all the photos but the drop down is right over the place where I have to do the drop and I can't move it over to the side as I did in Firefox . Was this ever resolved.  I have the same issue.  It recently worked with pictures I uploaded a couple weeks ago.  I'm trying it with some new pictures and nothing happens.  Using chrome, I highlight all pictures I want to upload, drag them over (shows the number of pictures) and drop it but nothing uploads and acts as if no drag and drop even happened.  What's going on with this?  Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

I works for me without issues.

Make sure that you are at: https://photos.google.com/u/0/

and that there are no unacknowledged messages open (it MIGHT work in some other locations but it definitely works here for me).

Then check here (because sometimes it is difficult to locate images if they are not at the top of the "Photos" Library because they have older dates): https://photos.google.com/u/0/search/_tra_

If you still have problems, try the UPLOAD button at : https://photos.google.com/u/0/

I found out that if I try to drag and drop directly from the device folder (in this case it was from my phone), it will not do it.  Instead, you have to save the pictures/videos to you PC (computer/laptop) in a folder, from there you can drag and drop.

I'm trying to upload photos and videos from an iPhone to Google Photos and I'm attempting the method of copying all the folders to the PC, then bulk uploading to the PC, so if that works, then there's no need for this reply, but trying to bulk upload from the iPhone doesn't work, as one of the earlier comments said. Any idea as to why iPhones seems to not want to play nice with anything not Apple made? lol

Edit: Okay, maybe this is just me, but having iTunes (downloaded from the Microsoft Store) backup the iPhone to the computer seems to have fixed the issue where the iPhone kept disconnecting whenever I tried to copy the photos to the PC. I have no idea how this works, but it has. Still, thank you all for making this thread 👌

My 14 year old cat died last week and I am panicking about how after getting a new phone (due to it falling into the bath tub later last week), my photos of her seem to be missing on Google photos on my new phone. Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

 

Regretfully, on the phone, the Photos app doesn't show anything upfront to reveal whether that's backed up or not.

 

However, the following due diligence will ensure everything from your phone is there on the cloud.

• Go to the library view & tap view all on the "Photos on device" tab. In that view, no folder should have a cloud symbol with a slash on that. If you find so, please tap the folder & switch on Backup & sync.
• Check the status of Backup & sync in settings. That should say "Backup complete".

Moreover, some social media apps hide the download folders from visibility through Google Photos.

Nevertheless, you can manage that unhiding through the settings in the respective app.

 

Once you ensure everything as above, you can be sure about the backup status of the photos & videos on your phone.

 

Notwithstanding, you should never straightforwardly delete pics once you switch on Backup & sync.

The sync function will delete the photo from the cloud storage also.
