I'm tearing to take and restore back my previous photos, but I can't get to it.

Hi,

Restore photos & videos
If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it's there.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app Photos.
At the bottom, tap Library and then Trash Delete.
Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
In your phone's gallery app
In your Google Photos library
In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.

My phone has been setting up my library since before Christmas.

I've contacted Google one support 3 times I've done everything I could do that I've read online.

Reset phone ,cleared cache, uninstalled reinstalled app I've looked for zero bytes files deleted WhatsApp reinstalled whatsapp.

My phone doesn't want to show all my photos from the cloud neither does it sync them I've tried on another android phone and the same thing happens.

90% of my photos are on my pc which are backed upto the storage via sync on my pc.

Other photos used to back up automatically from my phone when I took picture received them via social media etc.

Now if I want to back up photos I have to manually sync them to cloud.

But it still doesn't explain why all my pictures are been shown on my phone..I have had them for years and before Goole changed their storage ploicy they said any previous back ups would not count.

I'm only seeing photos mainly from last couple of years. I have over 500gb of photos that are not being shown on my phone that used to be.


On response I saw said it would take a while to build thumbnails if you have a lot of data but I didn't think it would take nearly 2 months.


Sort it out Google otherwise I will have to go to IOS.

No Google here, just volunteers with less extreme collections. 
My simple guess is that the app has reached the limits of its internal database - maybe in combination with too less free space on your phone due to 4K movies. 
 
This has nothing with the change of policy in since June 2021, because that is about space usage at Google. So your 500 GB on pc may still be less then 100 GB at one.google.com/storage because the majority is from before June and still does not count if they were uploaded at high quality. 
 
Can't say more about, so you need to wait on more clever volunteers.

PS: on iOS you will have even more complicated problems and I am not aware of any simple trics to transfer your content at Google to much more expensive iCloud because all will count then.
Maybe via Multcloud.

Hello,

Any original qaulity does not count towards new storage.

I have a 200gb storage with Google as I took this out because of the new policy.

All my photos from pc are showing on Google photos on any browser even if I use my phone and go via Google Chrome.

It doesn't explain why 1. My photos don't back up automatically when they did on the same phone with 128gb storage b4 December.

And 2. I can't view the same photos stored in cloud on the app on phone but I can view on browser on phone.

Thanks for trying to help,. A lot of people having this same issue and no real solution from Google.

Both qualities count for storage since June, unless you have some Pixel-version phone or some other bonus. 
 
You can't compare a browser which is directly connected with your Google-server and the app which needs to build a large database with links to the copies at that server. And perhaps there is some limit which is not specified by Google. There hardly can be another explanation. 
 
The solution from Google should come via Google One support - not via this forum, unless from some other user with a comparable extreme collection.
