So, backed up manually all my photos this morning, then I figured that I should make a backup - never tried it before, 1st time in my hole life - of my WhatsApp database, linked my google account, backup complete. Then I realized that when I took a few pictures and tried to delete them, after I had synced them, an error message was popping in my Google Photos - I can backed them up but can't delete them.

I understand and I know how important Google Photos is for you. This usually happens when the photos aren't completely backed up or in the process of getting backed up. Hence, please ensure that the backup is complete.

If yes, please give the below steps a try in a sequence to help resolve the issue:

• Check your internet connection (mobile data).
• Close the Google Photos app and re-launch it.
• Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos with the same Google Account.
• Clear App data:
• Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).
• Touch Apps.
• Select Google Photos in the list.
• Touch Clear data.
• Update the Google Photos app on your Android phone:
• Visit the Google Play Store.
• Open Google Photos.
• Touch on Update.

To convert a picture to PDF, please tap to open that & slide up.
AT the rightmost edge below the pic, you will find an option to print. Tap on that.
Then, it will show all the available printers. A print to PDF option will be there by default.
Select the right size of the paper, margins etc., & tap print.
That will save the picture as a PDF.

The only way I figured how to do it was to add the photos I wanted to try as a "profile picture," whose dialog box actually has all of the functionality I wish the "Theme" dialog box had, and then to go into the "My Photos" part of the Theme dialog box to select one of my "profile pictures." It's a time-consuming process because each photo is edited when you make it a "profile picture," and it only allows you to crop into a square, but I still found one I liked and then put my profile picture back the way I liked it. 

Still, it is annoying that I now can't figure out how to delete all the random pictures I didn't like the look of from my "profile picture" album. Whatever.

      Just to confirm, was Google Photos app installed on your lost phone? If yes and photos were previously uploaded to your Google Photos account, then all of them would still be available in the app. You just need to install the Google Photos app on your new phone and sign in with the same Google credentials that you were using on your lost phone. Alternatively, you can always get your pictures from the Google Photos website using a desktop/computer.
