You can follow these steps to move the pictures to the SD card using the Google Photos app, 

• Tap on the Library view.
• Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device.
• Select photos by long pressing, then tap others after a tick confirms the first selection. You can also long-press and slide down while still in pressed condition to select a range of pictures.
• Tap the three-dot menu top right
• Tap Move to folder
• Tap New SD folder, type a folder name, then tap Create

Note that if the photos are in the Google Photos cloud, this will not remove them from the Photos.

Further, even if you do not select this new SD folder for Backup & sync, any content in that will still be removed if deleted using the Google Photos app.

You can add the video to the locked folder if you have received the update.

Here is the help desk article explaining how to use the locked folder.

 

Hide your sensitive photos & videos.

 

Nevertheless, the pics in the locked folder remain on the device only. 
The app will remove that from everywhere, including cloud storage. If you forget the pin, lose the device, or factory reset your phone, you will lose the content forever with no option to recover that.

The bug appeared just recently, same time as I had limited storage on my Pixel 4Xl. When saving videos from other apps or downloading from the web the colors of the video are changed to super pale with increased brightness and low contrast / saturation. I can still see proper colors for a second only when videos are paused or being edited, but it's impossible to actually view or share / post these videos with actual colors. anyone else getting this problem? not sure if it's on the Photos app side or phone storage or whatever, but it's not preview only issue, the colors are besically gone. when I try to screen shot or screen record - the colors in the screen recording are OK! also when trying to share or post these videos on Instagram or open with 3rd party video editor videos appear as corrupted.

this is NOT an issue with deleted files, please don't close the thread if there's no relevant answers.

I know it doesn't seem to make sense, but once somebody is blocked for an album, they are always blocked for it.. (See: https://support.google.com/photos/thread/1260710?hl=en )

To express interest in new Google Photos functionality, you can use "Send feedback" from the 3 line menu on the Google Photos website (or app) to directly contact the development team.  You can copy and paste your original message if you think that makes sense.

Most of us in the forums are non-Google employees and the forums aren't necessarily monitored for enhancement requests.
