I've had Photos and Drive since these services were created however only recently I decided to use Google Photos as my main photo backup and organizer, even subscribing to 2tb storage, while also using Drive as my main cloud account for both personal and work related stuff.

Thus the problem: I noticed all my Google Drive photos also appear on Google Photos. This including all work related stuff, from site inspection photographs to the thousands of texture images I use to render models. All literally mixed with pics of my newborn child. So when I go to check his first few months of life I'd also see tons of different kinds of wood materials and construction sites because they were all taken/created on the same period.

Support told me since both services were 'unlinked' I discovered I can't simply delete from Drive to have it gone in Photos as well, and the deleting process in Photos is horrible, no option to select thousands of pics at once

Is there no option to just disable showing Google Drive stuff? It is a separate service now.

It looks indeed like you can only scroll the timeline (which is fine for recent photos) and search.
It would be nice when they also added the option to use Albums (like in Gmail).
A few things may help, for example :
  • Searching with words from an album title or descriptions. Note that, when you create a new album or add a description, you cannot search for it immediately.
  • Find the photo in Photos, note the date or file name etc and search for it 
    See  Search in Google Photos under "The search bar"

In the Google Photos tab photos are sorted by "Date taken, descending".
In the web app on a computer you can use the Page Up and Page Down arrows or drag the scroll bar on the right side of the screen for fast scrolling, and use the up/down arrows or scroll wheel for finer tuning to the correct date.
In the Google Photos app on mobile: when you start scrolling by swiping, a circle with two arrows appears in the right hand upper corner. Tapping on it displays a timeline for fast scrolling to the approximate date (year-month). Swipe up/down for fine tuning.

Regrettably, the video editor in Google Photos doesn't have any feature to change the audio track.
I suggest you look for some proprietary video editor to do so.

There can be multiple reasons for the backup not to happen.
 
# The quantum of photos to be backed is high.
# Insufficient free space on the phone for the app to work.
# WIFI connectivity is intermittent. Too many devices on the same router are restricting the bandwidth.
# Download & upload speeds are too asymmetric.
# Google Photos app is not allowed to use:-
  • Data in the background
  • Mobile data
  • Mobile data while roaming
# Activation of data saver through the settings.
# Putting a limit on the daily use of mobile data through the settings in the app.
# Putting a limit on the use of total data in a month through the settings in the phone.
# Activating battery saver or super saver mode.
# Existence a zero byte file in the collection. 
# Bloatware on the phone interfering with the smooth working of apps.
# Too many apps running in the background.
 
Can you go through these checks & address these issues?

My backup is not working/moving in a normal speed. For over 3 months it is stuck on the same 36 Gb out of total if 200 gb I have free and paying for. I have no idea why it is not backing up automatically as I set this to be. On top of that, when entering the up and clicking the backup it seems to be "thinking" and it always says "preparing backup" but nothing is happening. 
And do I have to open the up on the phone for the backup to work? 
Background - I have started using google photos since the last time I upgraded my phone - 3 months ago, so I have a round 50,000 photos to back up but it is not moving. Thanks

Yes on iOS the app must be open.  Others say this is not but have had 6 iOS devices and I have never seen it work unless open (at least as a Recent App).
  • Try closing all recent apps (double tap home button and push apps off screen on most iPhones).
  • Make sure that you are connected to Wi-Fi with decent UPLOAD speed (some internet connections, like DSL, have decent download speed but slow upload speed).  Do a speedtest.
  • Check your iPhone Storage and see if you are VERY low on space (if so, try to remove some things).
  • Check that iOS and the Google Photos app are up-to-date.
Make sure you are connected to fast Wi-Fi and open the Google Photos App again (with very few other apps opened, even in the background).  With 50,000 photos it could take days but you should see some progress if you tap the profile icon.  Put your phone on the charger when you go to be and leave the Google Photos app open.

So I went to Walmart to find out their printer was broken so I asked them to cancel the order which they did. However I can't see that order is canceled in my account.. its still showing in printing status. I can't reorder due to this. Any help? 

Let me use this forum to say how frustrated I'm because there is no way to contact Google customer service team, no chat,  no call.  I wonder it's better to switch to Amazon photos since they have Customer service team.
