My google photos storage reached the limit and I deleted a sufficient amount of GB, but the storage has not updated in days and still says it's at capacity.

Storage will only decrease if Original size photos, Storage Saver photos, or unsupported videos are deleted.

 

It may be possible to Recover storage at https://photos.google.com/settings  which compresses and replaces Original size with Storage Saver size. 

 

Head over to https://photos.google.com/quotamanagement  This should give a clue on where the storage is being used. Large photos and videos >5MB are listed and can be reviewed by tapping on the thumbnail to open then select the (i)nfo icon to see more detail about the files.

 

If you delete 1000s of High Quality photos uploaded prior to June 2021 then no storage will be recovered because they do not use any storage.

 

All photos added after June 1st 2021 can be found at https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ and all use storage unless added as part of Partner sharing.

It looks like you're referring to missing photos on your account. If so, could you please confirm, if you're trying to see the photos on web (photos.google.com)? If yes, ensure that you're signed in to the right account on your device. Also, check for the following things:

1. Are they in the trash: https://photos.google.com/trash.
   
2. On your mobile device, please check if you're able to view these photos on the Google Photos app.

Note: If you suddenly lost your photos, they might have a different date. If a photo is added from a device with different date and time settings, the timestamp may be wrong. Learn how to change timestamps on photos.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
2. At the top, type what you want to find, for example: "dogs", "New York City", or someone you've labeled.

You may also visit this help center article for more information on Finding photos.

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

 

First, ensure you have the latest updated version of the Google Photos app.

 

Next, to unhide a person, follow these steps.

• Tap the search icon at the bottom. 
• Tap view all to see the thumbnails of all the persons in people & pets.
• Tap the three dots at the top right corner 
• Tap on the menu "Hide & show". Please note this menu works like a toggle. If you tap once, the hidden faces become visible. If you tap a second time, then the person will hide again.
• Now you will see all the hidden persons with a symbol of eye & a slash across that. 
• Tap on the eye once. Please note, the eye icon also acts as a toggle. Tap once, the person will be unhidden. Tap a second tome & then the eye will reappear, hiding the person once again.
• Once the eye symbol is gone, the person's thumbnail will become visible again.

Alternatively, you can try to do so through another route.

Please enter the link https://photos.google.com/people in the web browsers available on your phone. Next, log into your account & see whether the show & hide option becomes visible through the browser.
