However, your query is not related to some feature in the Google Photos app.

Nevertheless, WhatsApp hides the media folder from visibility to other apps, usually.
But, you will find directions on how to unhide that on WhatsApp help pages.

If you have any received pictures and/or movies in Whatsapp, these folders should be visible in the row under Photos on device on the Library-page of the Google Photos app. But if you have deleted all conversations including their media (+ pictures + movies), these folders are empty and not shown temporary until new pictures & movies are received.

When you open such a folder, you can switch-on backupping and then these pictures also are shown in the mainstream on the Photos-page of the app, but often on wrong dates because social media strip off all relevant data, just because their compressors are too simple.

On my phone I have pictures organized by years (e.g. 2018, 2017, etc.). I was able to mark those folders for syncing in Google pictures app (android); however, after waiting a day (my smartphone had access to WiFi), I still don't see any of those folders/albums when I log in to Google photos from my PC browser. I'm not even sure if they were uploaded from the phone (my best guess they were not).

In the attached filea it's "2016 phone pics" and "2017 phone pics".

With that being said, the pictures from "Camera" folder upload without any issues whatsoever.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I use Note 9.

What should I do to EB able to sync those folders/albums so they would autocatically backup Google cloud?

Hello Serg, please note that photos don't upload in folders, they all upload to a single library and are sorted by date. You have to scroll down to the date those pictures were taken to see them.

Even on a 100 dollar scanner, it will be a slow process.

Every normal all-in-one printer has a scanner on top, but you also will need a laptop for operating and storing. Apart from the additional problems to get them in a nice order on Photos, because that only can sort on random scanning dates.

So if your project is about scanning old prints, there is much more to do then just scanning only - else you will get garbage on Photos. And mobile apps hardly are suitable for such jobs.

On apple when you list the dates there is one that is 'no date taken' and you can see all the photos.

Does google have this?

Photos having no "Date taken" are often filed under the upload date, but then they should be easy to find (on top).
You may also find them on top in https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ where they are sorted by upload date (most recently added are on top). You also get there by clicking in te search box, then "Show more" > "Recently added". In the info field you can see the date used in Google Photos for sorting in the timeline.

You need to open the google play books app or download it if you dont already have it (I know that sounds weird and random but it works!) Then select a book to read. If you don't already have any books just download a free sample. When you are reading a book, click on the double A's that look like this Aa. Then click on the tone tab, click on the settings icon next to night light, schedule should be set to none, and under intensity select turn off now. After that my gallery has not changed to that yellowish color. Hope this helps you!

I can't speak specifically about Facebook (I don't use it) or Instagram (If I post to it on iOS it would always be from the device which created the image). However, what you describe is not abnormal for many apps.

The easy workaround is to simply go to the image which is not on your device in the Google Photos app, select the images and then select "Download" from the 3 dot menu.

Although all my current mobile devices are iOS, some people say ~Apple may intentionally not play well with others~.

It is not a specific Apple-problem.

If pictures are not on phone anymore, the Google Photos app only can show them when they are stored ("back-upped") at Google. And most third party apps simpy can't connect to your private content at Google, although Whatsapp has improved recently. So Instagram may follow soon, but I can't check.

Probably Facebook itself is too proud to be aware of Google at all :-)
