You have no albums created at Google Photos sofar because you merely share via Insta and WA.

That's all I can conclude from your screenshots.

So nothing wrong.

PS: the screenshot folder often is hided in de Camera-folder, which is in fact the DCIM folder when viewed in some Filing-app like Google Files.

You can't solve that problem, because some albums in your Gallery are no device folders.

Only the folders seen in the Google app under "Photos on device" are device folders.

So the Gallery should have had a separate page for folders to prevent this confusion.

This problem does not have anything to do with Google Photos, but propably with wrong functioning of the camera-app of your new phone or wrong handling.

To be sure, install the simple Google Gallery Go app: if no Camera-folder is shown after shooting some pictures, I am right and you have to go back to your shop.

Please note that, due to a variety of reasons, not all files can be recovered - but you can try!

1. Items deleted from your photos.google.com are stored in trash for 60 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.

2. Items deleted manually from photos.google.com/trash can not be recovered.

3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.

4. Items deleted from your Gmail are stored in trash for 30 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.

5. Items manually deleted from Gmail trash can not be recovered.

6. Items deleted from your Google Drive will be stored in Drive Trash for 30 days and then be Auto-Deleted from Trash and can not be recovered.

There all there, in DCIM and a bunch of other folders, but I can't move them or get any gallery app to display them. Lately I'm trying with F stop, no luck yet.

For some reason in Google Photos, when on mobile data, up to about half of the pics in a given album will be blank,; at best some will eventually start to appear. It renders the whole app useless as a library, it's only good for cloud backup.

I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem, but haven't found any answers so far... been trying for a couple weeks now.

Basically you are right but not reasonable: Google Photos is fully web based, but the app also acts as a passive gallery showing the local pictures. However: after using the free-up space option there hardly are local pictures anymore unless in a few non-synced device folders.

And then you are fully dependant on wifi and allowing for using mobile data is quite expensive and thereby limited to protect you against massive datastreams.

And there are no comfortable ways to download bulks back to local storage of course, because then you may have not enough space for new shoots - especially video's.

So the only thing you can do is not using the Free-up space option and then taking care to delete older pictures and video's yourself to keep enough local space.

Storing on Drive makes no sense, because Drive is fully dependant on internet also and every byte counts in your free account.

PS: there is a simple Gallery-app that does not need internet at all if your phone has no Gallery itself.

It is brandnew and named Galery GO (from Google). It hardly takes any MB's.

PS: it would be wise to complain via the feedback-option in the main menu and then ask for a free-up space option that leaves the most recent 30 or 60 days in local storage instead of deleting all.

I want to definitely get rid off Google App WITHOUT loosing or changing ANYTHING in my ICLOUD I am sooo upset about this and I would be terrify to think that if I delete this app all my pictures, my videos and all my data from my phone will also disappear from my iCloud in which I have been constantly baking up my data to do not loose it and now I feel completely threatened and anxious about this. Not clear why you have started with the Google Photos app at all, but at least you should have chosen the High quality option in its backup setting because these files do not count for the storagespace in your Gmail-account.

But you simply can remove the Google app without loosing anything in your cameraroll and on iCloud.

However: thereafter you should log-in to photos.google.com/settings with your Gmail-account and then press the Recover storage button once. And also look if you have any unsupported videos which can be deleted there.

Thereafter wait a day and your gMail will start working again for sure.

I installed this app because I was sent a heavy video but I did not know anything about this google app before so I could not have known what to do in the settings anyway i will try this. You did not tell us about that "heavy video" shared. Apparently you did save it in you own Google library and that caused a lot of GB's in your Gmail-account.

If you remove the app, your own pictures don't sync to Google anymore, but it is not clear to me if they ever were synced if you did not have switched on the backup.

Nevertheless you can safely follow my advise, but due to that fat video, the recover storage process may take another day also because converting a fat video into less fat video takes a lot of time.

Do you see your photos here https://photos.google.com on the Google Photos website? Be sure to sign in with all your Google accounts if you have more than one.

Do you know the person and do you understand how he or she got in your shared album without being shared by you. Probably he/she got the link from a person you have shared and this often happens because people don't see this as embarrasing if this is about normal family pictures.

if you know the person, you can mail or phone to ask for stopping with contributions and then you can delete these contributions because you are the owner of the album.

If not possible, you maybe able to block that person under the 3 dots at Options.

You can add a person through the following steps.

Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots.
If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".

Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge.

That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail.
Then the app will show you all the identified faces till that time.
You can select the right one.

If not, tap the + sign at the top right corner of the screen.
That would create a new grouping altogether.

Once created, the app may take some time to bring all the related pictures to this new grouping.

Did you delete the videos inadvertently?

When we delete something from the phone, the sync action in the app removes it from the cloud also & vice versa,

Nevertheless, any deleted content is retained in the bin for sixty days,

If your delete action is recent, you will find all the items in the bin. The bin icon becomes visible in the library view. Tap that & recover everything available in the bin.

However, if your delete action has already crossed sixty days, or you have emptied the bin inadvertently, there is no way to recover anything through Google Photos.

However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps 

and run a scan for anything to recover.

There are several ways to do this.

Shared Libraries is probably easiest. This process can take a number of days and it is possible that this feature is not enabled by your school, so start early and if you have problems pursue one of the approaches mentioned at the end of this post.

Here's a help article for more information on 'Share your Google Photos library with a partner'. In your case you will be your own partner in a different account.

Do some reasonableness tests on the number of images in both accounts before and after. You can do this by selecting all the images in "Photos" or looking that the count of Photos for "Photos" here https://myaccount.google.com/dashboard (the Album count is meaningless).

Make sure that you set "Save to library" for all images on the target account.

Note: Shared Libraries transfer the images not the albums, you can share and recreate the albums if you desire.

Don't delete the images in the old account for a week after you thing the transfer is done. Check the resolution on some sample videos (via the Information Panel "i" icon) before the deleting the old photos. If you have any images which you would be heartbroken if you lost, make sure that you store them in more than one format / tool.
