Rearrange Pictures in Collage

Question: Rearrange Pictures in Collage

I wanna move the pics in collage in a different order. How do I do it?

Hi, Slogoboy

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

The collage maker in Google Photos is rudimentary & doesn't offer any feature to change the sequence.
You need to use some proprietary app the achieve that.

I had used free up storage feature of Google photos. Now when I am trying to find my document folder, it is not there also there are so many images that had been deleted from my device. I have checked it on Google drive , but there is nothing related to my deleted file and folder. Why this is happening? I want my images and folder back.

Answer:

You don't understand the function of the Free-up space option: it deletes your originals in the synced folders on your phone to make space for new pictures.
But it only deletes what is already backupped at Google, so you must still be able to see these pictures in the Google app (when having wifi).
Maybe your originals still are in the Recently deleted album in the Apple Photos app and then they can be restored - hopefully without causing duplicates at Google.

PS: documents (text files) are not backupped to Google Photos unless it were scanned texts saved as picture-files.

How to delete duplicate photos & videos

Hi, Sunil Kumar Gupta 6350

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

Google Photos never uploads the same picture multiple times.
What we see as duplicates have some difference in file format or metadata.

Regrettably, Google Photos doesn't provide any means to remove the apparent duplicates. You have to search those manually.

However, you will find some tips in this article on how to avoid duplicates in the first place & how to remove the ones which are already there.

delete my files photos by mistake and i want to recovert it. I'm delete trash

Hi, Judi Mohamad

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

Any deleted picture is retained in the bin for sixty days.

If your delete action is recent, you will find all the items in the bin. The bin icon becomes visible in the library view. Tap that & recover everything available in the bin.

However, if your delete action has already crossed sixty days, or you have emptied the bin inadvertently, there is no way to recover anything through Google Photos.

However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps
and run a scan for anything to recover.

When we create a movie, that keeps on circling through the edit mode for some time.
Allow that movie to get backed up to the cloud storage. Browse something else meanwhile.
After that maturation period, the movie opens in a normal mode.

I have an album that i shared to about 6 people and it works perfectly. When i shared this to two of my parents gmail accounts, they cannot view my album. It gives them a notification on their phone (via Google Photos on the phone), they see the message preview of the correct picture, but when they click in, they get a 404 error and "The requested URL was not found on this server. That's all we know." they both have google photos apps installed and used on their phone

another related issue, when both of them log into the web, most functions work fine. When they try to share any image via my email (the one that i definitely use for google photos) it shows my full email address with the Letter Icon, not the google photos icon indicting that i have an account. When they try to share using that same email address, i never get a notification. when a friend tries to share a photo with me, they do see my google photos account with the google photos icon.

I tried for several hours and i am usually very technical with apps, but i have no idea why this does not work. I have tried combinations of reinstalling apps, web browsers, different accounts, different images. Please help!

Answer:

Thanks for the reply but i tried these steps already and they did not work. I tried different computers as well. The issue. One thing to note as well, when i share the album publicly, i can view all the pictures(as an anonymous viewer). As soon as I sign into one of these accounts to view the share using the same exact link, I get a 404 error. Its really weird but it is definitely due to the account. Please note that this happens on many old and newly created albums as well. It also does not matter if it is shared only with that one person or multiple users already. The album I am trying add my parents already have 10 people viewing the album and works perfectly. Thanks.

Answer:

That sounds like your parents have been "blocked" accidentally (or they blocked you?). That happened to others as well. Check the blocklist https://myaccount.google.com/blocklist

Answer:

Hi there, I have had the same issue, I have no blocked users and still cleared my cache and browsing data. Still can't join albums. Other advice?

Answer:

@Kathy Evans
 • For an album shared with you: did you also check whether the owner did not (accidentally) block you?
 • Do you see the album when you open it in an incognito/private window?

Hello Jules,

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

If your photos and videos in your old phone was already backed up to Google Photos (cloud), you don't need to transfer/move them from one device to another. You can simply access your photos by signing into photos.google.com on a web browser on your computer with the same Google Account.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to remotely delete the app installed in your old phone. As a work around, I'd recommend removing your Google login from that particular device and then changing you Google password.

I have just created a Google One account and want to migrate my files from Amazon Drive and Amazon Photos. Is there a simple way of doing this for free?

Answer:

Hi, Darren Nellies

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

You have tagged "Web".
Then, the simplest way would be to download everything from Amazon drive to your desktop in a folder that syncs with Google Photos.

Answer:

Hi. To be honest, I tagged web as that is my main interface, however, if there is another option to aid with the transfer, I am open to suggestions. Downloading and uploading this kind of volume of files and data would take a significant amount of time and therefore I was looking for other options.

Answer:

Hi, Darren Nellies

Thanks for your reply

Do you have the Amazon Photos app on your phone?
Then, through that, you can upload the pics to Google Photos directly. Here is a screenshot of that option.

However, you can't expect some automated action. You have to select every picture in Amazon Photos & then upload it.

Answer:

Hi, Darren Nellies

Thanks for your reply

Have you installed the Amazon Photos app on your phone?
The option is there in the Amazon app.

Answer:

Hi.

Yes, I have installed the Amazon Photos app and the Google Photos app is not in the list of options to send the photos to.

Darren

Answer:

Hi, Darren Nellies
Thanks for your reply.

I have the same Amazon Photos app.

When I tap the share symbol in that, I find Google Photos to be listed there.
I shared a screenshot of that with you already.

However, if the behaviour of the same Amazon app is different on your device, regretfully you need to take up that in the Amazon support forum and seek some remedy on that.

Because the contents of albums just links to the originals in the librarystream - it are no duplicates.
So if you delete the originals, these links die and disappear and left an empty album.
But that also means that you can delete an album without deleting the originals.

Answer:

"I put some photos in an album and tried to go back to all photos and delete those photos yet at the same time it's deleting the album. Why?"
Google Photos does not use folders. Instead there is a single library of images, all visible in Photos view. When you create Albums of selected images, those images are not moved or copied to the Albums but simply tagged to belong to the Albums you've added them to, and there is no limit to the number of Albums you can add a single image (or at least I have never encountered such a limit). So although you can't move an image within Google Photos, each image is stored only once and displayed in other views based on its tags.

This is all convenient, but, as you've discovered, it means that if you delete an image from anywhere within Google Photos it is deleted from every view. So if you don't want images once added to Albums to remain in your Photos view, what you need to do is Archive the image once it is added to an Album. (This link gives instructions: Archiving in Google Photos.). Archiving will remove the images from Photos view but not delete it and not remove it from any Album in which you've placed it.

Let me know if this helps (and if it does please select the Recommend button below this post so that others can more easily find the solution to similar problems).

You can delete the pics in the backup.
However, before doing so, please deactivate backup and sync. Else your delete action will remove the pics from the device also.
Once done, long-press the first pic till a tick appears on that. Then stroke down through the entire collection to select all. Then tap the delete option, empty the bin & the pics will vanish from Google Photos forever.
However, do not activate the backup and sync option even by mistake. To safeguard against that, either delete the app or disable it through the settings.

Hello Dionne,

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

Could you please elaborate the issue or your query for me to assist you better? If you've deleted it from Google Photos and want to restore them, please know that photos/videos deleted from the Google Photos library, goes to the Trash for the next 60 days. So, in case, you deleted it by mistake you can always restore it from Trash folder within those 60 days (post deletion). But, if you don't find it in Trash, probably it must have been deleted more that 60 days ago. Unfortunately, restoring your lost/deleted photos and videos from Trash is the last resort.

If no, please let me know.

Answer:

Eternal confusion: the app shows your local pictures, so deleting means deleting local files - in general your camerafiles primarily. And if synced they also are deleted at Google (photos.google.com).
And if files are not necessary on photos.google.com you need to switch-off the backup-function in the app before doing that if you want prevent deletions in the camerafolder. But is more easy and safe to hide these pictures via archiving
Because Google is your private backup for safety and selective sharing, so you need to accept its properties
No Google here, so ideas for improvement should be send via the feedback option under your profile.
All the best

Android/Samsung user: I've checked for software and system updates. Restarted a number of times. Cleared out cache and trash. Deleted/uninstalled lots of unused apps. Brought the storage down to 113 out of 128 GB, when it used to use 122 GB.

I think the "free up space" option on Google Photos craps out / crashes because there isn't enough storage, but I've done everything I can.

Answer:

Hi, Christine Luu

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

The free up space option is to be used at regular intervals.
The free up space utility also needs some free space to work with.
Accumulating a large number may create problems.

Nevertheless, you can create that additional space through these steps.
 • First, ensure all the photos are backed up.
 • To verify that, [lease visit the link https://photos.google.com through any browser on your phone & check that everything is visible there.
 • Once assured, open the Photos app again.
 • Long press the first picture till a tick appears.
 • Then, while still in pressed condition, stroke down to select multiple pictures.
 • Once a sizable number of pics are selected, tap the three dots at the top right corner & tap the option "Delete from device".
 • You may have to repeat this action till the "Free up space" option remains unresponsive.
Nevertheless, after having created a sizable amount of space in the internal memory of the phone, the option will work removing the rest of the pics automatically.

I can not set the Google Photos app as default when I send photos to other apps. The phone first opens the MicroSD and I have to dig to open those of the Google Photos app. On Facebook not even makes me open the app of the photos, but shows me only that of the MicroSD.
I've already tried to "Clear Defaults\

Hi Alessandro,

The integration with a photo picker in a third-party app isn't always as seamless as we prefer.

I beleive it is easier instead to send images from Photos to the other app.

For example:
1. Launch Photos
2. Select the image to share
3. Select the share < icon
4. Choose the app to send or post the image.

It's a lot quicker than going from the other app to a photo picker to Photos and trying to find the image you want.

Enoy!

Answer:

Yes, but this means that I can't comment with a photo on Facebook because I must first add it to my MicroSD. Previously I had a BlackBerry PRIV (Android Marshmallow) and I did not have this problem!
Could it be simply a problem concerning the settings to be changed?

Answer:

I have a clarification to do: in addition to showing me photos on the MicroSD, it also shows me those of WhatsApp and those I send with Telegram made from the smartphone's camera.
