It's unfortunately not possible for more than one person to work on the same photo book draft. You may send your feedback and suggestions to the Google Photos team as these instructions explain under "Send feedback to the Google Photos team" https://support.google.com/photos/answer/6156065

As a workaround, you may edit the photo book on a computer and share the screen with your friend in a video call with Zoom, Google Meet, or another video platform. This way your friend can see the album and provide suggestions and feedback.

I upload photos and videos (in "high quality" settings and supported file formats) regularly and they didn't take up storage on my GD so far. I know this is going to end after the 1st of June but unfortunately photos and videos from the last batch started taking up storage even though it is not 1st of June yet.

The only change I made before was that I moved photos and videos from "my laptop" to "my drive" so that the old photos and videos would be synced to my new computer. But I don't see how this should make any difference.

Do you have any idea why or what should I do?

You have made two big mistakes:

Everything uploaded at high quality before June 1 will not start to take storage after that date. That only will happen for new uploads after that date.
Everything synced to Drive via the Backup & Sync into the My laptop section never will take storage until for files not compatible with Photos.

By removing the files from the My laptop section, you have broken that system and thereby they are counted at one.google.com/storage now.

I can't check if that can be undone by moving the files back into the My laptop section.

On your new computer, you should install Backup & Sync and after extensive checking you will be asked if the files present on Drive should be synced back to your empty pc. But I can not check that either.

No Google here - just private volonteers, so other volonteers will jump-in if they know better.

To move the pictures to the SD card using the Google Photos app, please follow these steps.

Tap on the Library view.
Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device.
Select photos by long pressing then tap others after the tick confirms the first selection. You can also long-press and slide down while still in pressed condition to select a range of pictures.
Tap the 3 dot menu top right
Tap Move to folder
Tap New SD folder, type a folder name then tap Create

Note that if the photos are backed up to Google Photos this will not remove them from the Photos.

Further, even if you do not select this new SD folder for Backup & sync any contents will still be deleted if deleted using the Google Photos app.

You will need to go to each platform and delete from there according to their instructions and policies.

Permanently deleting a photo from Google Photos will only remove it from Photos, and associated places, like Blogger or Maps for example. However it does not remove it from other companies like Twitter or Facebook. You will need to remove those images from there via any accounts you may have with the other companies.

3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.

The Internet Explorer should not be used anymore - it only is still alive in background for supporting old applications. So be happy with Chrome - that browser always should be used for Google apps.

If you are on Windows-10 the Edge-browser is standard - not the Internet Explorer anymore.

The Edge-browser will work well with https://photos.google.com because it is Chrome-based.

Then your information has misleaded me : )

The Google app shows the same pictures as the Apple Photos app, so you can't see if they are backupped or not. Then you have to view photos.google.com in the Safaribrowser by logging-in with the account used for backupping in the setttings of the app.

It is not clear to me if you are selecting them manually for backupping or that the backup is automatic.

If recently done, they can be found on the site in the Explore page when selecting Recently added under the thumbnails. Then you also can see their dates if you open the infopanel of an individual picture.

The Google Photos app shows (i) photos that are on the device and (ii) photos uploaded to the account you are signed in to. Thus also when the photos are NOT backed up to the active account, you will see them in the Google Photos app because they are on the device. It looks like your photos are not backed to the active account. In that case, deleting from Gallery deletes the device copy, and it also disappears from the Photos app. Check on https://photos.google.com/ whether the photos are really uploaded.

And you are living with the wrong idea that albums contain copies. Instead they contain references to your library only and can be delete when not needed anymore because many shares don't need to stay for eternity. So your library stays needed for fast visual searching on date with the right side cursor.

On Android it hardly is possible to organise: you should do that in the browser on your laptop in https://photos.google.com because then you can see to which album(s) a picture already is assigned like shown below:

If that picture would be not assigned, that can be done under the 3 dots shown right-up.

Albums themselves can't be hided by archiving.

I do know albums are just to keep like pictures together, not to completely move them, but I just thought maybe there was a way to hide it off the main list until I had it organized. I definitely don't want to archive them either because that, at least to my knowledge, takes them out of your albums too. Archiving does not remove pictures from albums and that's a bit unlogical if you want to hide "special pictures".

But in fact you want what many want: to have a small marking on the pictures already assigned to one (or more) album(s).

I would suggest you to ask that via the feedback option in the main menu of the Photos-app under the 3 small lines.

There are a little over 500 photos in my camera roll that are not being transferred or backed up to google photos. They are not in the backing up folder. When I free up space on my phone they are not deleted and when I try to find them in the app they are not there. I am not sure what to do and need help.
