Now when I try to edit a photo in the camera folder it creates a copy of the edited photo and saves it in a separate folder called Photos Editor in internal phone memory. Which is super annoying. This was not the case when the photos were in internal storage.

There is no change in that feature.

Major: In such cases, the pics were getting saved in the PhotoEditor folder.

You should not blame Google for that, but mail always has been restricted depending on your provider.

If Gmail or Outlook is your provider, your attach-limit is 25 MB which is quite a lot, but at many providers the limit is about 10 MB.

So you should select less pictures (up to 5 at max) or accept the proposal in the mail-app to send them in a smaller size or as a link to Google Photos.

PS: be aware that as long as these pictures are still on phone, you are trying to send originals and that easily can be 5 MB files on average nowadays. But if they are at Google only, they generally are compressed to high quality and have a lower size like 2 MB on average.

But movies always are too large.

Blackberry isn't a supported device for Google Photos. I'd recommend transferring/moving your Google Photos from your Blackberry device to an Android or iOS device that supports Google Photos. Backing them up from a computer is also another way.

Although there are multiple ways to transfer the content from the internal memory of the phone to an SD card, doing so through Google Photos allows retaining the backup and sync aspect.

Please follow the steps below to achieve the transfer.

Open Google Photos.
Tab Library.
Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device like Camera, Screenshots etc.
Select photos by long pressing then tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
You can also long-press and stroke down while still in a pressed condition, to select a batch.
Next, tap the 3 dot menu top right.
Tap Move to folder.
Tap New SD folder, type a folder name then tap Create.

Note that if the photos are backed up to Google Photos this will not remove them from the Photos, and even if the new folder is not selected for Backup & sync any contents will still be deleted if you delete that using the Google Photos app.

That means either you have turned off the backup & sync or that's stuck up for some reason
I suggest you turn off the backup & sync first if that is on

After that, please clear the cached & stored data of the Google Photos app & then reinstall the app.

You can do that through these steps.

On your Android phone, open the Settings.
Tap Apps and notifications.
Tap Show all apps.
Tap Google Photos.
Tap Storage and cache.
Tap Clear storage.
Next, uninstall the Google Photos app. If your phone doesn't permit uninstallation, then please roll back all the updates.
Power off the phone & then restart.
Install the latest version of the Google Photos app through the Play Store.

Log into your profile & see whether you can see the pics in the photos tab.

If that works, then you can turn on the backup & sync again.

Be sure to leave the app running (don't swipe it closed) after taking photos to help ensure they upload.

In short, no. Because the sync does no longer exist it won't delete in photos. Of course, please make sure you have these photos in G photos first (I know they most likely will be but can't hurt to check) would hate for you to lose items and not be able to recover them.

You always were able to delete the complete Google Photos folder in Drive if not used for downsyncing to your computer for creating a really good backup instead of Google Photos only.

So you still can do that now, but then you need to install the Backup & Sync app on your computer and you may want to avoid that complications.

But its connection to Google Photos is fully broken now, you can delete the folder - also from trash later.

However it still will take no additional storage in your account, so you also can wait until you have discovered that it is marvellous source for building really neat collection :-)

Via the 3 dots right-up, you will see the option to add the collage to an album for sharing and then it is stored in your general stream also.

So I can't guess what is wrong at your side, assuming that normal pictures give no problems and also are visible at Google photos.google.com and that there is no warning at one.google.com/storage

PS: my pictures generally are rectangles, so you can't prevent that they got severely cropped in the collage, but the automatics tries to pick the best part.

PS: this collage has a fairly low resolution of 1024x1024 pixels only, so you hardly can get a good quality print of 8x8 inch out of it.

There is no special button for screenshots - you should press the lower sound button and the on/off button at the same time shortly and then you will see a short flash. If not try, try again because it needs training.

Best to install the simple Google Gallery Go app, which shows the Screenshot-folder separately from the Camere-folder. But if backup is on the shots also should be visible between your normal pictures in the Photos-app and you may hide them by archiving if they are too disturbing between ypour normal pictures.

The pictures you see on the Photos-page of the Google-app are the same as in every gallery, so deleting means deleting everywhere - also at Google. And there was no good reason to delete them from trash immediately, because then they are lost forever and you were warned about that.

Always try with some inferior picture first to see what happens if you don't know an app and did not read anything before either (see Deleting and restoring).

Because everyone makes the same mistake, the app design seems quite misleading and all you can you can do is blame Google directly via the feedback option under your profile.

If your delete action is recent, you will find all the items in the bin. The bin icon becomes visible in the library view. Tap that & recover everything available in the bin.

However, if your delete action has already crossed sixty days, or you have emptied the bin inadvertently, there is no way to recover anything through Google Photos.

Adding new photos to a shared album shouldn't the ones that already exist (old) in the album unless they are manually deleted by person who has shared it.

Try uninstalling and reinstall the Google Photos app on your iOS device to check if this sorts the issue.

The photos were not manually deleted. The "old" 70 photos were essentially instantaneously deleted when my "new" upload completed. The new replaced the old, with the old now nowhere to be found. Neither my friend nor I deleted any of his 70 pictures...

If you're photos were already backed up, they will not be deleted by Google Photos unless they are manually deleted by the one who is using it. Also, Google Photos is already private because it is secured with your Google Account credentials. It shouldn't be a case where some one else has the access to your Google Photos and Google Account, until you haven't shared your login credentials with anyone.

The Google Photos app acts as a portal to see all the photos on your device and anything you delete in the app is automatically deleted from the camera roll.
