While the date, time and time zone is correct on the photos, Google Photos sorts photos taken and backed up in the first few hours after 12am with the previous day, suggesting it's set to a different time zone but there's no setting within Google Photos to specify time zone as there is within the individual photos. Is there some setting elsewhere causing this and, if so, where would that be in order to correct it? The Date & Time under general Android settings is correct. This problem occurs even after clearing and re-creating the GP data though I can't remember if it's been happening ever since I started using Photos a long time ago since I've generally not taken too many photos in the first few hours after 12am. This date-sorting problem occurs on all platforms (Android, web, web on Android or PC). Ring any bells with anyone?

I'd decided to findout up to what time this incorrect date sorting occurs and found out bymanually changing the time on a test image that the witching hour is 4 hourslater. I started thinking about whatplaces might be in the time zone in which the new day starts 4 hourslater. Google's headquarters is only 2hours later so it isn't simply a case of Google jingoism. I immediately assumed the time zone wouldhave to be Hawaii and began thinking maybe it's a sign I should move to Hawaiisince it's obvious from having visited there why it's called"paradise." To confirm myhypothesis, I looked up in which time zone Hawaii is located and found out it'snot 4 but 5 times zones away. If it isa sign I should be living in the time zone 4 hours away I then wondered ifthere are places instead of just ocean in that time zone and found out thereare the following:

Mangareva Island

Akutan

Gambell

Savoonga

Adak

Atka

Attu Island

Shemya Island

Temoe Atoll

Amchitka

Kiska

I then startedwondering if any of these place had hired Google to promote them. If there have been or will be any Googledoodles about one of these place then we'll know.

I do understand the inconvenience as a different video is getting saved in your device while downloading another video. Therefore, I recommend trying the steps below in sequence, this may help in fixing the issue:

Make sure your device is up-to-date.
Make sure the App is up-to-date.
Try restarting the App through the following steps:

Go to your App Settings.
Click stop on the afflicted App with the Force Stop button.
Wait a few seconds to make sure the App has stopped processing, and then attempt to re-start it.

Close the background running apps through the following steps:

Go to your App Settings.
Display the Active Apps on your device.
Select the App you wish to close and Force Stop it.
Repeat this step with all active Apps.

Try clearing your App cache through the following steps:

Tap the system Settings tab on the main screen of your device.
Tap the General section of settings that is on the far right.
Tap Storage in the General tab.
Clear the cache data once storage calculates the data.
Back out of the storage section.
Tap Applications and find the application in question.
Tap the application and clear the cache (if available).
Clear the data for the application if there is no cache to clear.
Exit the settings screen and restart the device.

No - the collage is an end product - Picasa was by far more intelligent, because a collage could be re-edited as long as the file was present in Picasa.

Hello ZiDiOuS,

The only way to find out how much storage is being used is to use Google Takeout.

If you want confirmation of the Google Photos usage you can follow the steps below.

Go to Google Dashboard and expand the Photos tab then left click on the 3 dots and select Download data. If you wait a minute until 'All photos albums included' pops up then click on it and deselect all.
Then scroll down and select all the year albums Photos from 2020 etc. You will now get a single copy of each photo, one json file per photo, and one filename-edited.jpg for each edited photo.
The contents of all manually created albums will also be in the year folders so there is no need to include them because they do not use storage allocation. An album is a collection of links pointing to the year album copies.
Continue to create the download and wait for completion then you will see a summary of the Takeout which will give you the total size. For a quick estimate choose the 50GB output size, there is no need to download unless you want to create an offline archive for security.
