Avenatti Calls for Trump 'Indictment' After Payoff Story | Heavy.com

Michael Avenatti has called for the "immediate indictment" of Donald Trump following a Wall Street Journal report that alleges the president had complete knowledge of payoffs made to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.

The Journal story dropped on November 9 at 1:03 p.m., by 1:24, Avenatti had taken to Twitter to rail against the president.

Donald Trump explicitly denied knowledge of the payments made to the two women in April and May 2018.

Karen McDougal has alleged that she had a lengthy affair with Donald Trump between 2006 and 2007.

It was widely reported that McDougal was to come forward with her allegations prior to the 2016 presidential election but was silenced after she sold her story to the National Enquirer.

Porn star Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, has also alleged that she had a brief affair with Trump in 2006.

Both alleged affairs happened while Trump was married to First Lady Melania Trump.

Avenatti Said in Response to the WSJ Article: 'No One Is Above the Law in the United States'.

Avenatti initially tweeted regarding the new report, "This further confirms what we have been saying and alleging for months.

There can be no question now as to the validity of our allegations.

I look forward to the apologies directed at my honest and heroic client." Avenatti followed that up with, "In light of the sworn testimony and evidence relating to the payment to my client and Trump's involvement (confirming our allegations), we are calling for the immediate indictment of the president.

No one is above the law in the United States." Avenatti accompanied the second tweet with a September 2018 opinion piece he wrote for the New York Times in September 2018.

The article was titled, "The Case for Indicting the President.".

Trump Has Previously Claimed He Knew Nothing About Payments Made to Stormy Daniels or Karen McDougal.

Avenatti has represented Stormy Daniels since she first came into the mainstream following her allegations that she had a brief affair with the president in 2006.

The November 2018 Journal report contradicts President Trump's past claims that he knew nothing of payments, that his lawyer, Michael Cohen, made to both Daniels.

The article describes the president as being an active participant in the alleged scheme to prevent Daniels and McDougal from going public with their allegations.

The Journal's Report Says 'Trump Was Involved in or Briefed on Nearly Every Step of the Agreements'.

One sentence reads, "The Wall Street Journal found that Mr Trump was involved in or briefed on nearly every step of the agreements.

He directed deals in phone calls and meetings with his self-described fixer, Michael Cohen." The investigative report goes on to quote a University of California, Irvine law professor, Richard Hasen, who said that in order to secure a criminal conviction, prosecutors would have to prove that Trump "willfully" broke campaign finance laws.

Also implicated in the report is Trump's longtime friend, David Pecker, the chief executive of American Media Inc., the company that publishes the National Enquirer, who allegedly agreed to "quash" Karen McDougal's story by paying her $150,000 for her story.

The Journal report says that "Mr Trump later thanked Mr Pecker for the assistance.".

Avenatti Has Previously Targeted Donald Trump Jr.

Over a Possible Indictment.

In the past, Avenatti has poked fun at the possibility that Donald Trump Jr.

could be indicted. When Trump Jr.

posted a tweet that made fun of rumors that Avenatti would run for president, the lawyer responded saying, "Bif: If I were you, the last thing I would be doing is referencing other people getting out of federal prison.

Because after you are indicted, you will likely be passing them on your way in.

BTW, they don't have silver spoons or gold toilets in the joint.

Buckle up Buttercup." On November 7, a Vanity Fair report suggested that Trump Jr.

was "worried" about being indicted shortly.

Central to Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election is a meeting that Trump Jr.

organized with Russian agents in Trump Tower during the summer of 2016.

Trump 'KNEW about hush money payments to women who said they'd had sex with him' - Duration: 3:21.

Donald Trump directly asked for hush money to be paid to a Playboy model who alleged

they had an affair - despite insisting he never knew, it is claimed.

Federal prosecutors probing the cash paid to former Playboy model Karen McDougal are

believed to have found the President thanked the National Enquirer magazine for buying

her silence.

The move could be a potential violation of strict campaign finance laws.

Today, the Wall Street Journal said the investigation into possible crimes found Trump

had intervened directly to suppress alleged sexual encounters 'several' times.

The billionaire businessman asked his then close friend David Pecker, the CEO of the

tabloid magazine 's parent company American Media Inc, how he could help his campaign

in August 2015. Pecker told him he could buy the silence of

women claiming sexual encounters with the then-candidate.

Shortly after American Media brokered a £115,000 deal with McDougal after initial telling her

it was only worth £11,000.

Editors of the magazine, who were in constant contact with Pecker and Trump's then-attorney

Michael Cohen, increased their bid ten-fold when they discovered the model was speaking

to a TV station. The payment was made by a direct request from

Trump to Pecker.

Trump also denied knowing of payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels who claims she

had sex with him in 2006.

The Wall Street Journal claimed the US leader was integral in both hush money deals.

Trump's involvement in the payments, by itself, wouldn't mean he is guilty of federal

crimes, according to Richard Hasen, a law professor at the University of California.

A criminal conviction would require proof he willfully abused the law on contributions

from companies or from individuals more than £2,000 he said.

The prosecutors with the evidence are from the Southern District of New York, who are

acting separately from Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation.

In August Cohen pleaded guilty to finance campaign violations and awaits sentencing

on December 12. Pecker has since brokered a deal with investigators

in return for information about the payments.

As a trio of devastating fires continues to ravage California, hundreds of thousands have been forced to evacuate their homes, while the death toll keeps rising

High winds, low humidity and dry vegetation have stoked the fires, which have quickly spread throughout the state, causing a quarter of a million people to flee the area, according to CNN

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric warns that "strong offshore" winds and low humidity "will promote conditions highly favorable" for a continued spread of the fires

Firefighters in the northern part of the state are battling a blaze — known as the Camp Fire — which has led to the evacuation of nearly 40,000 people

As of Saturday morning, the fire had burned through 100,000 acres and was 20 percent contained, according to Cal Fire

This was the largest of the three blazes as of Friday, CNN reported.  The Butte County Sheriff shared a press release on Friday stating that nine fatalities had been reported, all in the town of Paradise

Five victims were found "in vehicles that were overcome by the Camp Fire," according to the statement

As their bodies were badly burned, police could not immediately identify the victims

An additional four victims were later found.  "One person was found inside a residence and three were found outside of residences," according to the statement

Paradise Mayor Jody Jones told the Sacremento Bee that between 80 to 90 percent of the town had been destroyed by the fire

The cause of the fire, which has become the most destructive wildfire in California's history, remains under investigation, according to the San Francisco Chronicle

The Hill Fire, located just a few miles from where 12 people were killed in a mass shooting on Wednesday night, has burned through thousands of acres

As of Friday, the blaze had burned through 4,531 acres of land and was 15 percent contained, according to Cal Fire

"I've lived here since 1998," Arita Kronska, 62, who lives in the area, told the Los Angeles Times

"This is the first time I've seen a fire like this."  As of Friday evening, the Woolsey Fire had swelled to 35,000 and remained at zero percent containment, Cal Fire reported

Over 200,000 residents of Ventura County and Malibu have fled the blaze, CNN reported

According to the Times, residents in Malibu received a warning just after 12 p

m. on Friday to evacuate as the flames closed in on the city.  "We have hundreds of firefighters here on the fire lines right now, many more on order," Ventura County Fire Department Chief Mark Lorenzen told ABC 7

Amid the continued devastation, President Donald Trump has threatened to pull federal funding in the future if the state does not remedy what he calls the "gross mismanagement of the forests

"  "There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor," Trump tweeted on Saturday, while overseas in Paris to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War II

"Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests

Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!" he added.  The president has criticized the state in the past, claiming that their "bad environmental laws" were partly to blame

"California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren't allowing massive amounts of readily available water to be properly utilized," he tweeted in August

"It is being diverted into the Pacific Ocean. Must also tree clear to stop fire from spreading!"  Over the summer, 16 wildfires raged across California

Trump threatens to withhold federal payments to California amid fires - Daily News - Duration: 2:08.

President Donald Trump has threatened to withhold federal payments to California over 'gross mismanagement' of its forests as the state is ravaged by three massive wildfires

In a 2am tweet, Trump wrote: 'There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor

'Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests

Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!' On Friday evening Trump issued an emergency declaration providing federal funds to help the thousands of firefighters struggling to contain the flames that have already torched more than 200 square miles across the state

Share this article Share The late night tweet was Trump's first direst comment about massive wildfires, which include a blaze that incinerated most of the Northern California town of Paradise and killed at least nine people

The Camp Fire in Butte County north of Sacramento was only five percent contained as of 1

30am local time Saturday. In Southern California, the Hill and Woolsey fires have already scorched more than 40,000 acres, forcing more than 250,000 residents near Ventura and Los Angeles counties to evacuate

Those fires, which remain at zero percent contained as of Saturday morning, descended on the town of Thousand Oaks from both sides, threatening the community still reeling from a mass shooting that left a dozen dead at a local bar Wednesday night

'Trump knew': Tabloid titan turns on his ex-pal and reveals scheme to silence Stormy Daniels | The N - Duration: 3:58.

US President Donald Trump directly intervened to suppress stories about alleged affairs with women, despite denials of knowing about payments, according to the  The also shed more light on Friday on the cozy relationship between Trump and David Pecker, the CEO of American Media (AMI) – the parent company of the  According to the , Pecker and Trump met at Trump Tower in August 2015, just as Trump's presidential campaign was starting

Pecker then offered to use the to pay off women if they attempted to go public with allegations of sexual contact against Trump

A spokesman for AMI said they had no immediate comment. AMI's assistance to Trump isn't all that surprising, given that Trump and Pecker had a longtime friendship, and that the regularly published cover stories flattering to Trump and negative to his political rivals

In August, Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen pled guilty and implicated Trump in the effort to pay off two women, Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal

At the time, prosecutors outlined the involvement of American Media and the , referring to them as "corporation 1" and "magazine 1

" Prosecutors detailed how the publication kept Cohen apprised throughout the course of the campaign of salacious allegations, and that eventually led to the purchase of the Daniels and McDougal stories "so as to suppress them and prevent them from influencing the election

" The heart of the government's claims against Cohen are that the payments violated campaign finance laws, and Trump's involvement also raises questions of whether he faces legal liability

According to the , Pecker was also aware of the legal exposure he could face, and at one point researched campaign finance law and consulted a specialist

The $US150,000 ($A208,000) deal with McDougal was finalised in August 2016; the publisher would get exclusive rights to her story and she would also get two American Media cover stories and the possibility of health and fitness columns

Cohen told Pecker that Trump would reimburse the publisher, and they worked on a plan to transfer rights to McDougal's story to a shell company set up by Cohen

But Pecker called off the deal because he was concerned that it would be considered an in-kind campaign contribution, a key detail as it signals that there was an awareness of the impact that such a story would have on Trump's electoral prospects

Around the same time, Daniels was preparing to go public with her story, and was in preliminary talks with ABC's

Pecker, though, refused to buy her story. Cohen told prosecutors that he then went to Trump with the news that they would have to handle the $US130,000 ($A180,000) payment themselves, and Trump told him to "get it done," according to the

Cohen eventually used his own home equity line of credit to make the payment. Pecker has been granted immunity and told investigators of Trump's involvement in the deal, the reports

Cohen is scheduled to be sentenced in December. -AAP

Female Trump Supporters Admit They Have "Unnatural Love For Donald" - Duration: 4:27.

One of the most interesting things that we have seen from the Trump administration is

his support among white women.

I mean, after all, this man actually won white women in the 2016 Presidential Election.

He won 52% of white women.

Now, according to polls, that number has now fallen to roughly 40% approval among white

women.

But still, 40% out there in this country support this man who has been credibly accused of

assault and/or harassment by no fewer than 19 different women.

The man who they all heard on tape saying how he liked to force himself upon women,

forcibly kiss them even if they had a husband and didn't want him to, and how he would grab

them by the genitals just because he could.

40% of white women in the United States say, "I support that guy.

I like that."

So the New York Times did what any decent media outlet would do, or in their case, any

media outlet that occasionally can do something decent and they decided to talk to some of

these Trump supporters, these white, female Trump supporters, at Trump rallies over the

last few weeks.

And here's what they found:

The women are nuts!

Now, that's not what the New York Times said but these hardcore Trump supporters are nuts,

and they're pretty much ready to admit that they're crazy.

For example, Rachel Marks, 59, of Billings, Montana.

Here is what she said about her love of Donald Trump, "I have an infatuation and a love for

this man that's not normal.

I give the highest respect when people are telling the truth and giving their political

power.

If anything, I have a deeper respect now."

The man lies constantly and everyone who's not a complete idiot understands that.

Every fact check has proven that, even Fox News has had to come out and fact check him

because he says things that are blatantly wrong, and you're sitting there saying that

this unnatural love you have for Donald Trump is preventing you from seeing what's actually

happening in the world.

Yeah, I would call that an unnatural love, a love that's not normal in your own words.

There's more.

They're not quite as disgusting as this abnormal form of love, but here is Joan [Filpot], 69,

who attended a Trump rally in Missouri, she says, "He understands why we're angry and

he wants to fix it.

He wants to protect this country, he wants to keep it safe, and he wants to keep it free

of invaders and the caravan and everything else that's going on."

So, we got two things to deal with here.

One, first and foremost, these hardcore supporters of Donald Trump, the people who say that,

"Oh, he's telling it like it is" instead of saying "Yeah, this guy is blatantly lying."

They're a cult.

This is absolute cult-mentality, this is what leads to dictatorships and these mass movements

of people who absolutely support the worst human beings in history.

These Trump supporters are not different.

And second, it shows just how much this racism and this white identity plays in their support

for the president.

And again, that also goes back to the cult mentality.

It's the use vs. them, protecting our way of life, protecting our alleged culture from

these outside invaders.

Go back and read some of the speeches from that guy in Germany from the late-30s and

early-40s, you'll find the same language.

Look at what his supporters said, you'll find the same language there too.

This is a dangerous time in the United States, and it's so dangerous, and I hate to say it

this way, but because we have so many people in this country that are so painfully stupid

that they don't even realize that they are the sheep being led to slaughter.

People need to wake up.

People need to understand what this president is saying and what his words actually mean.

It's not that hard to figure out.

It's just that Trump supporters don't wanna take that time and tarnish the image of this

man that they have now made into a god.

Ivanka Trump Gets 16 New Chinese Trademarks For A Brand That No Longer Exists - Duration: 3:21.

Ivanka Trump just can't seem to get away from all of the conflicts of interest that have

surrounded her since the day she stepped foot into The White House and into whatever role

it is she's playing there.

I say whatever role it is she's playing there because many people inside The White House

have said to themselves according to reporters, "We don't even know what she does here or

why she is here."

That's not an unfair statement to say whatever role it is because even those in The White

House don't know why she's there or what she's doing.

What we do know she has done in the past is she has met with foreign leaders, and she's

also been given quite a few patents from the countries that those foreign leaders hail

from.

In October, she was actually awarded an additional 16 new patents from China, most of which for

a brand and company that she actually shut down in the summer.

She applied for these patents in 2016, nothing wrong with that.

Then she shut down her company in 2018.

The Chinese government knew this.

They knew that she wasn't manufacturing over there any more, and yet they still decided

to go ahead and grant her these permits similar to last time when they granted her a bunch

of permits earlier this year, and then Donald Trump lifted the sanctions on Chinese telecom

company ZTE even though it was shown that they were spying on people and breaking the

law, a move even Republicans thought was absolutely insane, but Donald Trump did it for them shortly

after they gave Ivanka all of those trademarks.

What could be the motivation of China giving Ivanka Trump 16 new trademarks for a company

that doesn't even exist any more?

Could it be that they want the sanctions lifted, or excuse me, the tariffs?

Could it be that they're trying to ease Donald Trump into ending the trade war in their favor

by benefiting his family personally?

That seems like the most likely scenario here.

I refuse to believe that they're doing this because Ivanka Trump has shown what a great

businesswoman she is because as the Citizens for Responsibility in Ethics in Washington

point out, this isn't just for things like clothing, and handbags and shoes.

Some of those are for those, but other patents that she was just given include things like

nursing homes, sausage casings and voting machines.

Does anybody want to put their parents in an Ivanka Trump nursing home?

Does anybody want to eat Ivanka Trump sausage?

How confident are you going to feel going to cast your vote on an Ivanka Trump voting

machine?

What the hell are these patents about?

She's not even in those businesses, but she got the patents somehow.

I can only imagine it's because the Chinese government is expecting something in return

from Donald Trump and dammit, he's most likely going to deliver it for them, whatever it

is that they want.

Trump Says He Knows More About Climate Science Than Actual Scientists - Duration: 3:32.

In an interview that aired this past Sunday night with Axios on HBO, Donald Trump sat

down with them and explained that he knows more about climate change than the government's

own climate scientist, which is similar to a claim that he made back in early October

to 60 Minutes.

He said that there's lots of reports showing that climate change isn't real, and there's

plenty of scientists saying that, "No, this is all a farce, so who knows what to believe?

But ultimately, I'm the guy that makes the decisions, so I think I know better than all

of these scientists who are perpetrating this fraud," and according to Trump, "have a political

agenda in protecting the climate and the environment and giving us clean air and clean water."

Uh, I hate those politics of breathing.

Here's the thing though.

He also admitted that he still hasn't read the National Climate Assessment that came

out in November.

November of last year.

So he's been sitting on this National Climate Assessment, which shows that human beings

are causing climate change, we're making everything worse, and he's refused to read it.

It's just sitting there for the last 12 months, and the man can't be bothered to pick it up

and read it.

Meanwhile, he spends every third or fourth day of his presidency playing golf, but not

enough time to look at how much damage human beings are causing to the climate.

In fact, at one point, he actually tried to steer the conversation a different way because

they asked him about man-made climate change, and he says, "Well, man-made, well, man and

woman-made because you know if you don't say man and woman then you get popped."

He tried to go down a different avenue with the whole gender equality thing, but they

weren't having it.

They drove him back to climate change, and he kept saying he knows better.

He knows better than scientists.

This man that has bankrupted multiple businesses, including casinos where people just literally

walk in and throw money away, and he bankrupted it.

He couldn't make that profitable, but he's smarter than scientists.

Man, I tell ya because all those scientists out there, they've got some kind of political

agenda.

They've got something to gain from protecting the air and the water and the soil and the

people.

Gee, maybe could that something to gain be a longer life?

I don't consider that a political motive.

I consider that basic survival instincts of human beings.

We have ignored scientists, as a country, for far too long.

That's because we've had people as dumb as Donald Trump believing that they're smarter

than everyone else, somehow getting in a position where they're the ones who call the shots.

It's happened with Trump.

It happened with Bush.

It happened with Reagan, and quite a few people before them as well.

It's time to start listening to the people who are smarter than us and, more importantly,

it's time to start admitting that, yeah, people are capable of being smarter than we are.

But that is something that Donald Trump, no matter how long he lives or what he reads

or what he learns, he'll never be able to admit that anyone on this planet is smarter

than he is, and that is going to doom us all.

Trump And Putin's Weekend In Paris - Duration: 4:46.

WELCOME TO "THE LATE SHOW," EVERYBODY.

I'M YOUR HOST, STEPHEN COLBERT.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS BIG PLANS FOR THE WEEKEND.

DONALD TRUMP DOES.

HE'S GOING TO PARIS.

BY THE POWER VESTED IN ME BY NO ONE, I HEREBY RENAME YOU, 'FURRY

TRUMP IS IN-- HE'S OVER THERE-- HE'S OVER THERE BECAUSE HE WANTS

THAT MILITARY PARADE, RIGHT.

HE IS OVER THERE FOR A BIG MILITARY PARADE THAT WILL MARK

THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OF THE WORLD WAR I ARMISTICE.

AS I SAID, TRUMP REALLY WANTED HIS OWN MILITARY PARADE, BUT

IT'S BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL AT LEAST 2019, WHICH WILL GIVE THE

PENTAGON ENOUGH TIME TO COMPLETE THEIR NEW F-13 GARFIELD.

( LAUGHTER ) BUT THINGS COULD GET TENSE

BETWEEN TRUMP AND MACRON, BECAUSE FRANCE IS OPPOSED TO NEW

U.S. SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN, WHICH TRUMP ANNOUNCED LAST WEEK

ON TWITTER, WITH THIS MEME: "SANCTIONS ARE COMING."

NOW, IT MAY BE TENSE-- IT MIGHT BE TENSE OVER THERE, BUT TRUMP

WILL HAVE AT LEAST ONE ALLY IN PARIS: RUSSIAN PRESIDENT

DONALD TRUMP IN PARIS.

ALLEGEDLY.

BUT WHEN ASKED IF HE WAS GOING TO MEET WITH PUTIN WHILE IN

PARIS, TRUMP TOLD REPORTERS "PROBABLY NOT," EXPLAINING,

"WE HAVEN'T SET ANYTHING UP YET."

(AS TRUMP): " WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS.

WE DON'T WANT TO MAKE THE EVENT TOO FORMAL.
