Trump wants new Air Force One paint job and a bigger presidential bed - Duration: 4:16.

Donald Trump personally negotiated the cost and some features of the next generation of Air Force One airplanes this year, and now he wants a few additional features: a new paint job and a bigger bed

The iconic Boeing 747 U.S. presidents fly on – the U.S. Air Force has a spare too – is painted with a feminine blue chosen by former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis 55 years ago

Trump derisively calls the hue a 'Jackie Kennedy color' and wants something that 'looks more American,' according to a report on the Axios news website

The colors of the United States flag could be featured in a reboot. They're different from the red and dark blue on the skin of 'Trump Force One,' the president's privately owned Boeing 757 that served as his campaign chariot

Axios says the Air Force might bristle at the change. The current aircraft have been in service since 1990

But even if the president sticks to his guns and has the plane outfitted the way he wants, he'll have to win re-election to see the results

Converting a standard passenger jet into Air Force One takes time, and the current project isn't scheduled for completion until after the next Inauguration Day in January 2021

The multibillion-dollar deal was the subject of an Oval Office meeting in February with Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg

A White House aide told DailyMail.com on Thursday that Trump has 'always wanted' to have a real bed on Air Force One for long-haul trips

The Presidential Suite aboard the plane includes a pair of what could be described, at most, as twin-size beds, which fold out from leather sofas

Trump Force One has a stateroom with a 'double' bed, pilot John Dunkin told DailyMail

com aboard the aircraft in 2015.It's large enough for Trump's 6'4", broad-shouldered frame and dressed with more than just a blue blanket

But it's the outside of the plane, not its furniture, that announces the arrival of the most powerful man in the free world

The idea of changing it has already generated friction with one presidential historian

'Why would anyone want to discard an Air Force One design that evokes more than a half-century of American history?' Michael Beschloss asked Axios

Meanwhile, President Trump is now in the UK for a four day visit….

He and his wife Melania met British Prime Minister Theresa May.... for a black-tie dinner

with business leaders at Blenheim Palace in London.

During the dinner,.... they reaffirmed their strong alliance and vowed to jointly fight

against terrorism and Russian aggression.

They also touched upon post-Brexit trade.

But in an interview with Britain's Sun newspaper published late Thursday...., Trump blasted

May's plans for a business-friendly Brexit... saying that that her approach could imperil

any future trade deal between the U.S. and Britain.

Trump's visit comes amid fierce protests against the U.S. leader.... which includes a blimp

portraying him as a big baby.

Trump said... he feels "fine" about any protests, but then later told The Sun newspaper that

he felt "unwelcome" in London.

The Queen meets Donald Trump on her DAY OFF but will Trump break protocol during tea? - Duration: 3:22.

The British monarch will meet Mr Trump and his wife Melania at Windsor Castle, Berkshire, for tea during the second day of his four-day trip to the UK, which has sparked fury among protestors who do not want the controversial US President in the country

As for the Queen though, she has sensationally cancelled plans for a day off today in order to squeeze in the delicious lunch with the power couple

The Queen always has Fridays off, as well as Saturdays and Sundays from official engagements meaning she works a four-day week, which is remarkable given her 92 years

But after a busy week of engagements, she put plans to have Friday off and focus on her daily papers on the back burner so she can host tea with the couple

Mr Trump has told of his delight of meeting the Queen and praised her as a "tremendous woman"

But it is Mr Trump's loose-lipped ways that could also land him on hot water with the Queen

There are a number of protocols that must be obeyed when meeting the Queen. Not disclosing personal conversation with the Queen is one of them

Another is touching the Queen. Like Mr Trump, the Queen prefers a handshake but he must allow her to take the lead and take her hand if she offers it first

Michelle Obama came under fire when she appeared to put her hand around the monarch's shoulders to gently lead her while walking while meeting the Queen

Another protocol Mr Trump must not break is by calling the Queen by her first name, like Nelson Mandela did by calling her Elizabeth

There are two ways to greet the Queen when Mr Trump meets her. He could either bow or shake her hand

But Mr Trump must be gentle, not just because of her age, but also because it would be deemed catastrophic if he went in white-knuckled and grabbed her hand like he has done with his political counterparts

Mr Trump famously stormed off before a previous Nato meeting had finished last month

But he should absolutely not do this during his tea with the Queen because the monarch must always be the first to leave

Mr and Mrs Trump's tea will last two hours this afternoon, with scones and sandwiches on the menu

Earl Grey will be served instead of the traditional English Breakfast.

Trump claims successful NATO Summit in Brussels - Duration: 1:40.

U.S. President Donald Trump has hailed the NATO Summit as a success,.... saying members

are now committed to paying more for the alliance's defense.

However, some allies have cast doubt over his claims.

Ro Aram has this story.

The past two days saw President Trump give a mixture of jibes and praise towards NATO

members.

But in the end he left satisfied.

Trump told a press conference on Thursday that all NATO members agreed to increase their

defense spending after he told them he was "extremely unhappy."

The day before, he suggested NATO allies double their military spending to four percent of

their GDP, saying the U.S. was paying that much.

NATO figures show America spent 3.5 percent this year.

Trump has repeatedly threatened to pull the U.S. out of NATO if burden-sharing was not

improved.

When asked if that threat still stands, President Trump said he could, but no longer saw the

need.

"I think I probably can, but that's unnecessary and the people have stepped up today like

they've never stepped up before.

And remember the word thirty-three-billion- dollars more they're paying and you'll hear

that from the secretary-general in a little while.

He thanked me actually…."

However, some NATO members cast doubt on Trump's claims that they had pledged to "substantially"

raise their defense budgets.

They said they simply agreed to a 2014 deal to spend two percent of their GDP by the year

2024.

However, NATO's chief Jens Stoltenberg did note that President Trump's rhetoric did create

a new sense of urgency.

Fox News scores Putin interview after Trump summit - 247 news - Duration: 3:20.

Fox News, President Trump's favorite network, has landed an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin following the Helsinki summit

'Fox News Sunday' host Chris Wallace scored the interview with the Russian strongman the day after he sits down for a one-on-one with Trump and then an expanded meeting Monday

Wallace, who has a reputation for peppering guests with tough questions, will raise the issue of Russian interference in the presidential election – as will Trump

The interview 'will focus on the summit, Syria, Russian interference in the 2016 U

S. election, arms control and where Putin sees Russia's place in the world,' according to Fox

He will also talk about 'hotspots' and 'any potential breakthroughs at the summit,' as well as Ukraine and NATO

'We're going to sit down for a half hour interview.  No holds barred, no subjects off limits,' he said

'Obviously we'll get into the allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 election,' Wallace said

Trump once again broke down his relationship with Putin during a press conference at the NATO summit in Belgium

'Is he a friend? No, I don't know him well enough,' Trump said. He called Putin a 'competitor,' a remark that drew a critique from Arizona Sen

John McCain. Trump also said he would once again raise the sensitive issue of election meddling with Putin – then predicted his counterpart 'may deny it

'Trump brought up his upcoming Helsinki summit with Putin as he took reporters questions at the NATO summit in Brussels

But he took a fatalistic attitude about what might happen.    'What am I gonna do? He may deny it,' Trump said

Share this article Share 'It's one of those things. All I can say is: 'Did you?' And 'Don't do it again,'' he said

'But he may deny it. You'll be the first to know,' he told reporters.Trump also joked about the topic – which prompted a year-long Russia probe – as 'your favorite question

'    'I think we go into that meeting not looking for so much,' Trump said. 'We want to find out about Syria' as one of the topics, he said

U.S. policy towards Russia under Trump - Duration: 3:06.

Even President Donald Trump's strongest supporters have trouble explaining his rhetoric

when it comes to Russia.

At a recent rally, Trump said: "They say, Oh, let's see.

He's angry at NATO.

I guess, ya, let's see, he loves Russia.

I love Russia."

Trump's tone when talking about Russian President Vladimir Putin, the man believed

to have meddled in America's last presidential campaign, usually falls somewhere between

indifferent, to relatively positive.

And it stands in stark contrast to how the president has talked about America's allies

during his ongoing international trip.

Out of meetings with NATO leaders and British Prime Minister Theresa May, Trump said his

summit with Putin may be the easiest of them all.

Trump's GOP defenders argue it is not what he says, but what he does, that counts most

when dealing with Moscow.

And the president himself has claimed to be "much tougher on Russia than Obama."

The independent fact checkers at Politfact rated that claim "mostly false."

But there are some areas where Trump has taken more action than Obama did to counteract Russian

influence.

Under Trump, the U.S. started selling lethal weapons to Ukraine to aid the country's battle

against Russian-backed rebels.

Trump also authorized airstrikes in Syria...after concluding that Syrian president and Putin

ally Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people.

Then there's the 60 Russian diplomats expelled by the administration in March, in response

to the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain.

It was the most significant U.S. purge of diplomats in more than three decades.

But the most contentious part of Trump's Russia policy has centered around sanctions.

Yes, under Trump the U.S. has imposed additional economic penalties on Russia.

They build on what the Obama administration did after U.S. intelligence agencies concluded

Moscow interfered in the 2016 election.

However, that was largely thanks to Congress, who mandated the new sanctions with a veto-proof

majority in July 2017.

Also included in the sanctions were limits on the administration's ability to ease the

measures, a provision Trump strongly opposed.

"The rhetoric is extreme and unprecedented," international trade expert Judith Alison Lee

told Newsy.

"But there are limits and there are constraints on him.

So we haven't seen a huge shift yet in terms of our overall economic sanctions policy towards

Russia."

That provision means those new sanctions won't be on the negotiating table when Putin and

Trump meet in Helsinki, Finland on Monday.

Trump can't offer to reduce those sanctions unless Congress is on board.

Despite that, experts say the leaders are likely to emerge with some tangible progress.

Though a major diplomatic breakthrough is unlikely.

"I don't have a crystal ball — from my career experience, leaders don't usually go to summits

unless they have deliverables," Simon Saradzhayan of Harvard's Belfer Center for Science and

International Affairs told Newsy.

"If you don't have deliverables, nobody wants a summit because you going to be questioned:

why did you got meet this person, [and] shook hands if you have nothing to sign?

So there has to be something to sign."

Additional reporting from Newsy affiliate CNN.
