Trump news on Youtube Oct 4 2017

"Look, we have a tragedy. What happened is, in many ways, a miracle. The police department,

they've done such an incredible job. And we'll be talking about gun laws as time

goes on. But I do have to say, how quickly the police department was able to get in was

really very much of a miracle. They've done an amazing job."

600 people were shot. Trump calls it a "miracle". I got nothing.

President Trump was asked about the gun laws on Oct. 3, in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting.

He responded "We have a tragedy, and what happened in Las Vegas is in many ways a miracle."

At least 59 people were killed and more than 500 others were injured in Las Vegas late

Sunday when Stephen Paddock shot at an outdoor country music festival from the windows of

a 32nd-floor hotel suite. For at least five minutes, and perhaps as long as 15, the crowd

was shot at. As Paddock fired round after round, gun smoke filled the hotel suite and

set off a fire alarm, allowing a SWAT team to zero in on Paddock's position in about

20 minutes. As officers closed in, Paddock killed himself.

Las Vegas police were so badly outgunned by mad man it took them 2 hrs to enter gunman's

hotel room; Trump says they got him "quickly".

Tom Watson writes, "We need fewer miracles."

Terrence writes, "This man is one of the most incredible cases of foot-in-mouth disease

I've ever seen."

What do you think of Donald Trump calling the Las Vegas Shooting a "miracle." Let

me know in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe. You can also read my

blog about it in the upper right hand corner.

I know you can't get inside the president's head but that's one of the benefits of social media and tweets

So I want to go back and take a look at a litany of communications

"Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA, something the Obama Administration was unable to do

If they can't I will revisit the issue

CNN 10 | October 4, 2017 | Trump visits hurricane stricken Puerto Rico | Daily Listening - Duration: 10:01.

Reporting from CNN Center, I'm Carl Azuz.

It's good to have you watching our midweek broadcast of CNN 10.

U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday, the scene of

the deadliest shooting in modern American history.

As

investigators pick up pieces of evidence there and try to figure out the suspect's motive,

residents of Puerto Rico are picking up the pieces left

by Hurricane Maria, the devastating storm made landfall there on September 20th.

That's where President Trump was Tuesday, surveying the damage, meeting with Puerto

Rican officials and discussing the U.S. government's aid to the

island.

Puerto Rico is a U.S. commonwealth.

The island's 3.5 million residents are American citizens, but they don't vote in U.S. presidential

elections.

They have no voting members in the U.S. Congress and most Puerto Ricans don't pay a federal

income tax.

Hurricane Maria left all of them without electricity and most still don't have it.

More than half of people there also don't have access to clean,

drinking water.

Some Puerto Ricans, like the mayor of the capital San Juan, have criticized the U.S.

federal government for making an inefficient

response to the hurricane.

Others like the island's government have praised the government for quickly addressing

the island's concerns.

The White House says thousands of members of the U.S. National Guard have been in Puerto

Rico since before the storm hit and thousands of containers

of food, water and medical supplies have been sent to Puerto Rico.

But with the shortage of truck drivers, diesel fuel and working phone lines,

officials have had trouble getting the aid to those who need it.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SANJAY GUPTA, CNN CHIEF MEDICAL CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): The thing about Puerto Rico

is that it was already on the edge.

Many here are sick,

older and poorer than the mainland, with long waits and a severe shortage of specialists

and an economic recession.

There was no reserve here,

nothing to keep them from toppling off the edge.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The hurricane just causes a lot of stress.

You have people, you know, coming late from work, trying to get gas, and stress

builds up.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ: That's just what's happening on one of the Caribbean islands that was struck

by Hurricane Maria.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

IVAN WATSON, CNN SENIOR INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): The approach to St. Croix reveals

a storm-tossed island still littered with

debris.

The airport, an improvised operation with a military presence.

Outside, civilians wait to be evacuated, joining the thousands now fleeing

to the U.S. mainland aboard what the authorities call mercy flights and mercy ships.

Among them, 19-year-old Taylor Thomson, her 11-year-old brother Alex, and their dog Whisky.

TAYLOR THOMSON, HOPING TO EVACUATE: Because everything is destroyed, homes, cars, businesses.

That's absolutely terrible, because you can't get

ahold of people you know.

I haven't talked to my friends since the storm passed.

I have no idea if they're OK, if their house is standing.

So, you

just don't know anything.

But it's awful.

WATSON: Hurricane Maria's devastating winds left a path of destruction, uprooting trees,

ripping down power lines, and according to federal

officials, damaging more than 2,000 structures.

Everywhere you look, people are cleaning up, including Dan Zebroski and his son's friend

Tyler, who are also hoping to make a little money collecting

scrap metal.

DAN ZEBROSKI, SAINT CROIX RESIDENT: Look at this, this is history.

This is hurricane season's history.

Nothing like this has ever happened.

WATSON (on camera): The U.S. Virgin Islands have long been an American tropical paradise,

but now, two back to back monster storms have devastated

the tourism industry which makes up the backbone of the island's economy.

(voice-over): The cruise ship currently docked here provides temporary housing for disaster

relief workers, instead of tourists.

Curfew sits in

at 6:00 p.m., an effort to stop looting that erupted after the storm.

YVETTE ROSS EDWARDS, ATTORNEY: Yes, this was blown up, a piece of it cracked off, kind

of a symbol as to where my officer is now.

WATSON: Attorney Yvette Ross Edwards shows me her office, soaked by rain after the storm

damaged the building's roof.

(on camera): Realistically, how long would it before you can get back to work?

ROSS EDWARDS: I am looking at not until January.

That's how long I'm looking.

WATSON (voice-over): Until then, she and her employees have to live without salaries, and

yet the island still is not out of the danger zone.

ROSS EDWARDS: And unfortunately, we're just getting passed the middle of the hurricane

season.

So, we have almost two more months to go, and that's

the sad part of that.

WATSON: Let's hope nature gives this battered corner of paradise some time to recover.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ (voice-over): Ten-second trivia:

A century ago, Remington, Royal and Underwood were all famous brands of what?

Razors, watches, looms or typewriters?

All of these companies were famous for producing typewriters, machines that were invented in

the 1800s.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ: Technology has certainly changed, but there are some classic typewriter characteristics

that endure today.

The QWERTY keyboard, for

example.

It was patented in 1878, and one theory is that the letters were laid out that way to

keep the typewriter's mechanical keys separated, so

they wouldn't jam up.

That hasn't been proven.

But the machine's popularity was.

Even now, some folks still have a special place in their hearts and livelihoods for

typewriters.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

PAUL SCHWEITZER, GRAMERCY TYPEWRITER CO.: In the '60s, and '70s and '80s, you

look in the New York yellow pages, there were six pages of typewriter

companies right here in Manhattan.

Now, if you look, there's only two or three or four of us left.

BILL WEIR, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Meet Paul, last of a breed.

SCHWEITZER: When I'm out on the service call --

WEIR (on camera): Yes.

SCHWEITZER: -- this is me.

WEIR: This is you.

SCHWEITZER: Going out.

I can carry some of my tools, screwdrivers, cleaning rugs, and some of my smelly chemicals.

WEIR (voice-over): His dad had the same kit back during the depression, going office door

to door.

When Paul came back from the Navy, his pop made him buy suit to give him a tryout.

Fifty-five years later, the little shop is his now.

His son

helping out, and it is a portal back in time.

SCHWEITZER: This is all steel.

I mean, this is a heavy duty machine.

WEIR (on camera): Can I feel the weight?

SCHWEITZER: Yes.

WEIR: Wow.

(voice-over): He revised models from the '30s that could anchor a vote.

(on camera): Would you mind if I took this for a little test run for old time's sake?

SCHWEITZER: Yes, no problem.

WEIR (voice-over): And models from the '70s, it will snap you right back to Mrs. Schmelinski's

(ph) 10th grade typing lab.

SCHWEITZER: Very good.

Good typing.

WEIR (on camera): Not bad, right?

SCHWEITZER: Yes.

WEIR: Did you notice my posture there?

SCHWEITZER: No, very good.

It's good to see some of the younger generation still knows how to type.

WEIR: It's good to hear you refer to me as the younger generation.

I'll take that.

(voice-over): To be honest, I came here to feel sorry for Paul -- one more refugee of

progress in a dying industry.

But --

SCHWEITZER: There's still a lot of younger people who are rediscovering typewriters.

WEIR (on camera): Come on, Paul.

Really?

SCHWEITZER: Door bell just rang.

Can I just get that for a minute?

WEIR: Yes, please do.

Yes.

Go right ahead.

SCHWEITZER: Can I help you?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I was wondering if you guys saw a correction tape.

I have an IBM Selectric and I refuse to use anything else.

SCHWEITZER: Hey, you want to tell these people that?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: These machines are more reliable than my computer.

WEIR: Is that right?

Is that why you use it?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And it also can't get distracted.

They do one thing.

They type.

You can't check your Facebook, can't do your email.

Or maybe

I'm a romantic at heart, but everything about the typewriter is just more fluid to

me.

WEIR: And how long will Gramercy Typewriter be around?

SCHWEITZER: No, this can go for many years to come.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

AZUZ: If we want robots to help us do things, it's not very efficient to have a different

one for each task.

That's a quote from the leader of this

MTI project on what you could call origami robots.

Basically, this involves a small machine that's able to position itself into a plastic exoskeleton.

When that exoskeleton is heated, it changes

into a predetermined shape.

Then, the robot is able to move, sail or even glide to a new place.

Now, there are many layers to this story and some heated questions.

What happens if it's cold?

Is this research gold?

Will it be put on hold?

Will the idea get old or do they intend for it to be sold?

Lastly, how do they keep the robot in the fold?

I'm Carl Azuz and it's time for CNN 10 to power down.

Trump Admin Hides Report Showing Their Tax Plan Is A Scam - Duration: 3:43.

Last week, we get a full taste of the Republicans and Donald Trump's tax package, which includes

massive tax giveaways to corporations and the top 1%, while actually raising taxes on

the bottom level of income earners in the United States in order to pay for those massive

tax cuts.

But something that happened during the release of that tax package is something that should

have us all very very concerned, because nobody paid attention to it at the time.

In fact most media outlets completely missed it.

What happened was that all the way back in 2012, the Office of Tax Analysis within the

federal government, did a report on how trickle-down economics is snake oil.

How it is a scam and how it will never work, and more importantly how it's screws over

average American workers.

Here is what that specific report said.

It said, "That when you lower taxes on corporations, the tax burden within the corporation, which

is usually 82% of the taxes are paid by the corporation itself.

The other 18 are actually paid by the employees.

But when you lower their taxes, they pay 75% but the workers share increases to 25%.

So taxes on the workers go up.

Taxes on the corporation itself go down.

The extra money goes back into the pockets of shareholders and CEOs."

It does not work, and it creates an increased burden on the workers themselves.

And the Trump Administration fearing that people in this country would see that report,

because it was on the Office of Tax Analysis website decided to bury that report.

They deleted it.

They hid it from the American public so that we could not get a look at it, and understand

that their tax policy was a complete fraud.

All of the promises they been making publicly like, this was going to help American workers,

this was going to help small businesses, this was going to create job growth.

Every one of those talking points was thoroughly debunked in this government report.

So the Trump Administration decided to do what they do best, and pretend that it didn't

exist.

And the American public no longer had access to it through the government's website.

There is a link, in the video description for this video, to a Politico article that

has a pdf of the official report in it.

I encourage everyone to follow that link.

Download that report, and share it to as many supply-side economics fanatics as you can.

Because as we've stated time and time again, trickle-down economics does not work.

It has not worked ever.

It will not work ever.

In every available report on it shows that, yep it can't work.

All it does is increase the tax liability for workers and American families, while lower

taxes on the top 1% and corporations who put that money in their pockets rather than spending

it to create more American jobs.

The Trump Administration is praying that you don't get your hands on that information.

So I encourage everyone, download the report, and share it will every single

person that you know.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Gets Roasted In SNL Season Premiere - Duration: 3:50.

This past weekend Saturday Night Live had their season premiere and just like last year

they spend a good amount of time, in fact they actually opened the show attacking the

Trump Administration.

But, since they no longer have Sean Spicer or Reince Priebus or Stave Bannon or any of

the usual suspects this time they spent a good amount of time going after new White

House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Let's take a look.

Mr. President I've gotta be honest, this is only gonna get way worse.

I like you Sarah.

You're a straight shooter, that's why you've outlasted Sean Spicer, Scaramucci, Bannon,

Priebus, Gorka, Flynn, Yates and Tom Price.

Thank you sir.

I think it's because folks listen to me because I'm no nonsense but I'm all nonsense.

What's funny about this and this is actually not even the first time they've sent up Sarah

Huckabee Sanders, is that they're almost running out of people within the Trump Administration

because everybody's been fired and yet somehow the people who remain within the Trump Administration

are just as bad as all of the people who have either quit, been fired, or resigned.

So, there's no shortage of people to make fun of technically but it is ironic considering

the fact that we've seen some really horrible people go.

Yet there's still just as many horrible people still left in the Administration.

Also, not featured in that particular clip, but in the whole segment, Jeff Sessions made

and appearance.

Not the real Jeff Sessions but Saturday Night Live's version of him and once again played

by a woman, which I'm sure is gonna get underneath Donald Trump's skin to no end.

Again, Saturday Night Live knows exactly what they're doing.

Last year or excuse me I guess the beginning of this year, Donald Trump tried to pick a

fight with Saturday Night Live over their portrayal by Melissa McCarthy of Sean Spicer

and Donald Trump lost humiliatingly.

So, Saturday Night Live is not gonna back down.

They're gonna continue to send up the members of the Trump Administration, continue to make

fun of them, and continue to call them out for what they see as the truth because that

is exactly what happened here.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders coming out and saying I'm no nonsense but I'm all nonsense.

That is exactly how the American public sees her.

We do not believe anything that comes out of her mouth, yet somehow with her little

folksy accent and politically connections from her father, some people in this country

still seem to think that she's a real trustworthy kind of person.

Well she's not.

Saturday Night Live understands that so they pounce on it.

Right now one of the best tools we have against the Trump Administration are comedy shows.

Comedy shows, late night TV show hosts, Seth Myers, Samantha B., Jimmy Kimmel people like

that are out there yes roasting the administration but more importantly also teaching the American

public about what's actually happening in this country in a straight forward way that

everybody can understand.

That's what the late night hosts are doing and that's what Saturday Night Live is doing

and it has all proven to be a tremendous service to the people of this country.

Paul Ryan Thinks Donald Trump's Heart Is "In The Right Place" On Race Issues - Duration: 3:35.

Our recent interview on CBS's Face the Nation, House speaker Paul Ryan said that he knows

Donald Trump's heart is in the right place on matters of race here in the United States.

He said this with a straight face and he said it as if he actually believes it.

According to Paul Ryan, what he said in this interview, he's heard conversation with Donald

Trump behind the scenes.

You know, the conversations that nobody else gets to hear.

The ones that take place in the corridors of The White House far from the reach of cameras

and microphones.

But Donald Trump seems like a really sensitive guy.

The kind of guy that understands the plight of African Americans and Hispanics and everybody

else who's not white in this country.

Unfortunately for Paul Ryan, one, I absolutely do not believe that that has ever happened

and two, the things that Donald Trump says both publicly on Twitter and publicly out

of his mouth, prove otherwise.

Donald Trump's heart is not in the right place at all with regards to race relations in the

United States.

If it were, he wouldn't have called Neo-Nazi's some fine people and then black athletes protesting

police brutality sons of bitches.

But that is exactly what happened.

Those were the President's words.

It's not something that we've twisted to mean something else, something that we have taken

out of context.

That is what he said.

You can't tell me that his heart is in the right place.

He tried to hijack the entire national anthem protest movement and make it all about athletes

disrespecting the flag and completely ignoring the fact that black people in this country

are getting mowed down by police officers for no reason whatsoever.

Donald Trump has been absolutely horrible on race relations here in the United States.

Worse than anyone I have seen in my lifetime.

So don't say that his heart is in the right place.

If he's going to be racist, at least be honest about it.

Paul Ryan was given a tremendous opportunity during the Trump Administration to set himself

apart and emerge as an actual leader within the Republican party and set up a potential

future political bid for a higher office.

Instead, he is proven time and time again, that he is nothing but a spineless little

Donald Trump lapdog who will go out there and defend this president that the majority

of this country absolutely hates, that the majority of republicans do not like.

For what?

Why does he do this?

What does he have to gain?

Technically he has nothing to gain at this point.

He has everything to lose and he isn't even smart enough to understand that he is losing

it because he won't stand up to this bully of a president who clearly has racist inklings

within him and instead goes out there and tells us insane little theories that Donald

Trump is ... his heart is in the right place when it comes to the treatment of black people

in this country.

TRUMP VINDICATED: Look Where "Relief Supplies" Were Found | Conservative America Today - Duration: 3:49.

Although Hurricanes Irma and Harvey were less costly regarding death toll and damage thanks

to the preparedness of the Trump administration, Puerto Rico wasnt as fortunate. Instead

of blaming themselves, however, some of the leadership of the devastated territory is

playing politics instead.

Despite the mayor of San Juan criticizing President Trump for ignoring the suffering

of his people, the truth seems to be quite the opposite, according to The Gateway Pundit.

American aid is sitting in a warehouse, rotting, and the leaders in PR are so inept that they

cant even get people to the ports to pick up the supplies. Rather, its the managers,

leaders, and politicians who should be carrying the responsibility on their shoulders.

Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz had issued an emotional plea for help on Friday, while criticizing

Trumps response to the situation, saying that, you are killing us with the inefficiency

of the distribution process.

However, it appears the real source of the problem lies at the local level, rather than

federal. Drivers from the Teamsters Union are not showing up to work, as they are not

permitted to act because the union is on strike at the moment. With only one-fifth of drivers

arriving at the ports to distribute the supplies, over 9,500 containers filled with aid havent

been moved. One person tweeted a lengthy message outlining the situation, saying, Did mayor

of San Juan mention union workers at port are on STRIKE & demanding money first before

distributing supplies off boat?

Colonel Michael A. Valle, the leader of the Hurricane Maria relief efforts, made it

public knowledge that the problem isnt federal, but rather, a problem with local

distribution in Puerto Rico. Its a lack of drivers for the transport trucks, the 18

wheelers. Supplies we have. Trucks we have. There are ships full of supplies, backed up

in the ports, waiting to have a vehicle to unload into, he said.

However, only 20% of the truck drivers show up to work. These are private citizens

in Puerto Rico, paid by companies that are contracted by the government, Valle concluded.

There is such a stark deficiency in the logistical support that its almost impossible for

these goods to get into the hands of those who need them most.

In addition to the shortage of drivers, a diesel crisis is plaguing the island as well.

At the moment, distributing fuel across Puerto Rico is FEMAs number one priority to help

relieve the supply bottleneck issue, according to NPR.

Conservative commentator Curt Schilling also acknowledged this fact. Ive talked to

politicians in both states (Texas and Florida) and the governor of Puerto Rico. All have

said that the president did everything in a pace that theyve never seen before as

far as him releasing money and releasing assets into these theaters. The execution on the

ground has been horrifying in some cases, he said.

In contrast to the San Juan mayors comments, the governor of Puerto Rico ended up praising

Trump as well, saying, every time weve asked them to execute, theyve executed

quickly, according to Breitbart.

As is usually the case, the mainstream medias depiction is in contrast to the reality of

the situation. The Trump administration has done all it can to alleviate the situation;

the blame instead rests on the mid and upper-level leaders within the island whose response has

been less than stellar.
