My wife and I have a shared album where we were taking a lot of pictures concurrently. Photos are not being sorted chronologically.

For example the pics are in the following sort order:
11:23-12:03 (mine)
11:14-11:24 hers)
12:24 (mine)
11:25 (hers)...and so on.

I tried changing the sort order from oldest to newest. The sort order was incorrect for both and appeared to be different for each. This issues was seen on web using my account, web using her account and iPhone app.

I had a similar problem yesterday and sorting again by "Oldest first" (which was already selected) did not help. I thus sorted "Newest first" and then back to "Oldest first\

Yeah, sorting in an album is a real pain.

Arke, deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.

Unfortunately, once Photos are deleted from trash there is no way to retrieve them back :(

On the website of a printservice like Shutterfly or Snapfish you can connect to your Google Photos account.

But then you should prepare a small album with the pictures you want to have printed.

Best to crop them to 3:2 ratio for the best result with the simple editor on Google Photos.

Else you must download them from https://photos.google.com on your laptop and then upload into the ordering site of your preferred printservice.

To download to a computer, open your photo on the web version of Google Photos, then : menu > then download (any edited version) or download original (unedited version)

2. Printing

To print from your Android phone, you will need either access to a wifi-enabled and -connected photo printer, or a print service, such as one offered by Walgreens / CVS / RiteAid (in the US) or online printing services.

First set up the printer according to manufacturer's instructions. Then, make sure your phone is connected to the same wifi network as the printer.

To print locally from your phone, open the image you want to print, select the : menu > Print.

A print window will appear to select your printer and any additional options for quantity, etc.

Some newer printers are "tap" enabled. If your phone has an NFC option (like you use it to tap and pay with Google Pay at a checkout counter), then you can use the same method to tap your phone to the printer and it will connect that way. Check your phone connection settings preferences to see if NFC is an option.

To print locally at a drug store service, for example, one method is to connect your phone via a provided usb cable at the store and then use their onscreen prompts to access and print an image.

Alternatley, download a third-party print application from the Google Play store (search for print photos), such as one provided by CVS / Walgreens / Kodak, etc. that allow you to send to their service, and they'll print at your local store. Experiment with the print service, app, and photo print quality to determine one that fits your needs.

Finally, you can use Google Photos to create a lovely photo book that is very easy to make. Open Photos, select Assistant > Photo Book and choose one of the gift book options or suggested books, or create one of your own manually. I had this problem too and stumbled upon them when I started to expand the sections of photos. Next to dates and location titles you may see upside-down v symbol indicating there are more photos tucked away when you click it the sections will expand and you will see tons more photos that you forgot about or thought were lost. At least that was my experience. Also sometimes they might be getting backed up to a different Google account if you are logged into more than one. So check each one. Hope that helped someone find lost memories. Gone are the days of film where moments in time are forever Frozen on little strips which are just as easy to lose and much more difficult to shuffle through.

Please make sure that you have cleaned trash too.

This is an old and annoying issue: many reported that it takes (too) long to adapt the used storage after deleting files, but it still seems to happen. Is there anything you can delete from Gmail (old mails) to see whether that helps ?

Can you can also try the following:

Go to https://photos.google.com/settings
What do you see next to "Original" ? It should tell you how much storage is available.
Do you see a "Recover storage" button ?

If not there is nothing to recover.
If yes you could try to use it to convert "Original" photos to "High Quality". If you want to keep the originals you should download them first if this is the only copy.

Please let us know what you see, because it may help us to give better help in the future.
