North Korea latest: Donald Trump and China hold crisis talks on nuclear threat

The White House said Mr Trump and Mr Xi had a telephone conversation after the US President and his aides publicly discussed potential military action against Kims bloodthirsty regime.

It appears the US is continuing to exert pressure on North Koreas only ally China to use any influence it has.

A White House spokesman said: "The two leaders committed to maximising pressure on North Korea through vigorous enforcement of United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Mr Trump made the call while attending his first United Nations General Assembly, where building international unity to confront the nuclear threat from North Korea tops his agenda.

Mr Xi is not attending the annual gathering of world leaders in New York. The US President will have several meetings about North Korea on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

The international response to dictator Kim Jong-un is also expected to be a chief topic in Mr Trumps address to the assembly Tuesday.

Mr Trump said he was more confident than ever that our options in addressing this threat are both effective and overwhelming".

The US President says he has not ruled out a military option in the crisis and the US Air Force flew four F-35B stealth fighter jets and two B-1B bombers over the Korean peninsula earlier today.

North Korea, which carried out more missile tests last Friday, has bitterly denounced new sanctions on its economy as vicious, unethical and inhumane and warned the measures would only accelerate progress on its nuclear weapons programme.

The UN Security Council last week imposed a new raft of sanctions on North Korea, slapping an export ban on textiles, freezing work permits to North Korean guest workers and placing a cap on oil supplies.

Pyongyang says it needs nuclear weapons to protect itself from US forces and is determined to build a weapons system capable of delivering a nuclear warhead capable of hitting the American mainland.

A foreign ministry statement said the sanctions were an act of hostility to physically exterminate the people of North Korea.

The statement said: "The increased moves of the US and its vassal forces to impose sanctions and pressure on North Korea will only increase our pace towards the ultimate completion of the state nuclear force.".

I do based on your theme believe that he's here to stay for a while maybe

through a few primaries but he is not going to be the nominee before Victor

Donald Trump is not the Republican nominee no there's something going on I

gather he's doing okay in the polls for a while but he's not gonna be the

nominee so we'll be fine well I don't think it's likely that

Donald Trump will be the nominee but it's obviously too early to tell I would

vote for the nominee of the Republican Party and I don't believe that's going

to be Donald Trump can you well sure you can you can make a case that it probably

six or seven people can make the nomination do I think it's likely no the

only thing is Donald Trump hasn't won this nomination is the majority of

Republican voters don't want Donald Trump as their nominee and Donald Trump

who is not going to be the nominee number one is a Republican are you gonna

be able to support the Republican nominee if his name is Donald Trump

Donald Trump will not be the nominee are you that's not answering the question I

feel very confident that the nominee is going to be anyone but Donald Trump the

polling in common sense will take you away from Trump getting the nomination I

don't think you'll be at the top a second one so it's a hypothetical for me

I don't think it's gonna happen he's the front-runner according to the

polls in the elections he could become the nominee

ultimately the Republican Party will reach out to about all voters based on

who our nominee is and I don't believe Donald Trump will be our nominee in fact

it's almost inevitable to say whoever is really the front-runner running away

with her today is not going to be the nominee and I believe that Donald Trump

will not be the nominee well he's not gonna be the nominee

Martha Donald Trump is not gonna get the nomination

Donald is not gonna be the GOP nominee we're going to be well listen Martha

nobody's going to going to clinch it on the first ballot nobody is getting to

1237 I'm not but Donald Trump isn't I I'll leave it to you to speculate on how

this whole race is gonna go well I don't think it's likely that Donald Trump will

be the nominee he is not gonna be the nominee but he's not gonna be the

nominee Chuck Donald Trump who is not going to be the nominee Donald Trump is

not gonna be the Republican nominee Donald Trump is not getting to 1237 he

might get to 1237 realistically I wouldn't bet a dollar on it he might be

leading the Republican ticket next I know you don't believe that but I want

to go on

Donald Trump has reached the number of delegates needed to clinch the

Republican nomination for president I'm so honored I continue to believe mr.

Trump will not be present with Latinos and it would be sweet sweet justice if

after everything he has said after every attack e has made address Latinos after

he has thrown out Latino anchors from press events after he hasn't done any

outreach after he has questioned a judge's citizenship after he has called

Mexicans rapists it would be sweet sweet justice tonight it was a Latino vote

that defeated Donald Trump mr. brush has branded him a jerk who he says is trying

to insult his way into the presidency and should be caught out he says when ah

mr. Bush says if Trump does win the party's nomination

he claims he won't stand a chance against Hillary Clinton Trump I don't

believe is gonna be the party's nominee and if he is he's gonna get crushed by

Hillary Clinton and I wanted to point the buter so Donald Trump will lose and

he will then destroy the Republican Party you can Donald Trump win a general

election my view is no you're never gonna be president that is open your way

to let's see I'm like 42 and you're at three says I don't matter I'm doing well

I can't find a single Republican I talked to probably 12 Republican

senators yesterday or for their representatives I couldn't find a single

one who now thinks they're going to win Donald Trump is not gonna get the

nomination but I'd like to support the nominee but he's not gonna be the

nominee that's just not going to happen well I don't think it's likely that

Donald Trump will be the nominee he is not gonna be the nominee well I'm gonna

support the Republican nominee and I'm comfortable it's not gonna be Donald

Donald Trump is not going to get this Republican nomination so Jenni could he

actually win no freakin way do not tell me that Donald Trump is in

this to win this okay he's a side ship I don't think he's then

has anything to do with Latinos his plans his strategy is to win the White

House without Latinos I don't think he can do it or

the scene here is so different than it was a few hours ago when people were

happy and relaxed there are people who are just in shock and they are just

stunned at the idea that they were completely sure they were coming to this

event to celebrate Hillary Clinton becoming a first female president and

now they are confronting the reality and that they could be walking out of here

perhaps expecting that Donald Trump is going to become president

everybody should head home you should get some sleep

I want every person across the country who supported Hillary to know that your

voices and your enthusiasm means so much to her and to Tim and to all of us you

are in all of our hearts thank you

some magazines are facing big embarrassments today newsweek had

already shipped out this cover Madame secretary but quickly had to change it

to this President Trump ladies and gentlemen the next president

of the United States Donald Trump

I've just received a call from Secretary Clinton

she congratulated us it's about us on our victory and I can

Brink of WAR: Trump's terrifying warning to world - 'I will TOTALLY DESTROY North Korea' - Duration: 2:26.

Brink of WAR: Trump's terrifying warning to world - 'I will TOTALLY DESTROY North Korea'

was issued a major warning from , whose speech was met with applause in New York this afternoon.   He said if America "is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea".

The US president also warned Americas other rivals would go to hell for their actions before issuing a rallying cry for unity.   Mr Trump said: We must work together against those who threaten with chaos and terror.

No-one has shown more contempt for other nations and the wellbeing of their people than the depraved regime of North Korea.  They respect neither their own citizens nor the sovereign rights of countries.  If the righteous men do not confront the wicked few then evil will triumph. He mockingly referred to North Korean despot Kim Jong-un as a "rocket man on a suicide mission for himself and his regime".

He said: They are responsible for the starvation of millions of North Koreans.   We want harmony and friendship, not hardship and struggle.

North Korea's UN mission said their Pyongyang delegate remained in his front-row seat for Mr Trump's fiery speech.   Mr Trump concluded his speech with a passionate rallying cry to the UN.

He said: We will fight together and stand together for peace, for freedom, for justice, for family, for humanity and for the almighty God who made us all.

Thank you, God bless you, God bless the nations of the world and God bless the USA. This is a developing story, more to follow.

What If Trump Goes to War Against North Korea? What Would It Look Like? - Duration: 10:41.

What happens if North Korea goes to war with America?

INTRO

Sometimes when it's late at night and people are a little tipsy, they tend to make embarrassing

texts or say awkward things to the people around them…

When Donald Trump is sober, he makes nuclear threats to the world's most irratic military

country in the world…

What happens if North Korea goes to war with America?

What if Trump just…

NUKES THEM?

As surprising as this may sound, nuclear weapons aren't the magical solution to all the world's

problems… well, unless Canada starts producing even more Justin Biebers… then I think we

all know what needs to be done.

The world is right now pretty terrified of North Korea and understandably so…

Suffering from one of the world's most severe cases of penis envy has fuelled Kim Jong Un

to develop their missile program at incredible speeds

According to Jeffrey Lewis, an expert on North Korea's missile program, he says that they

now have a ballastic missile capable of reaching Washington DC or even New York . US Ambassador

to the United Nations Nikki Haley predicts they are three to five years away from achieving

a miniaturized warhead they can attach to one of these missiles.

The quickest and most obvious way to dispose of this problem is to literally turn North

Korea into a crater, and the US definitely has the bomb to do it in such a way that would

probably wipe out any chance of a North Korean retaliatory attack.

So why don't they?

The bomb to do the job would be the Castle Bravo, America's largest tested nuclear

weapon at 15 megatons of Trump's creamy fire and fury.

The blast radius would be 43.2 km with a death toll of approximately 2 million 400 thousand,

600 thousand injured, and 4 million others affected by radiation poisoning.

The first obvious reason not to drop the bomb is morally killing and poisoning that many

people for the aggression led by really one Korean dictator.

Secondly, as far as nuclear weapons go, it isn't just the blast radius you have to

account for…

Allies would be immediately affected in the worst way.

Thermal radiation from a nuke of that magnitude will spread up to 293 km downwind and could

cover all of South Korea, the width of Japan, and potentially move down to Shanghai in China.

China would undoubltely be pretty pissed off…

Not to mention that they are North Korea's number one trading partner and have been pretty

transparent about leaving them alone.

They would certainly perceive it as a hostile act of war, and a war with China would be

much more of a mess considering they are one of the world's top super powers and armed

with proven nuclear weapons of their own.

Finally, there is never any guarantee that all of North Koreas weapons would be wiped

out in the blast, and that would lead to an immedate retalitory attack on south korea.

Based on information from their nuclear testing in 2013, we know they have atleast the size

of a 10 kiloton nuke that if detonated over head of Seoul Korea, would kill 77 670 people

instantly and injure 268,590 people.

Whether he has armed a nuclear warhead onto one of his ballistic missiles or not, there

is also the threat of a missile being shot at Los Angelas.

Although US radars would detect it immediately, there is also never any guarantee it can be

knocked out of the sky, as we will discuss later.

PRE-EMPTIVE NON-NUCLEAR STRIKE ON NORTH KOREA

Right now there's a lot of murmuring goin on about a pre-emptive strike.

The idea is to take out as many missile launch pads as possible and eliminate as much of

the artillery Kim Jong Un has loaded along the border of south and north korea…

However, without nuclear weapons, it is practically impossible to attack North Korea in a swift

and thorough enough manner without setting off a 2nd korean war.

And trust me, nobody wants that.

First off, North Korea's missiles are on mobile launchers and scattered about the country.

So finding them is literally like trying to catch multiple needles in a giant haystack…

needles that are constantly moving in areas hard to find, and a haystack that really isn't

hay… because well… if north korea could grow that much vegetation, they wouldn't

be so angry all the time…

On top of that, they have switched to solid-fueled missiles, which require significantly less

preparation time as they can be fueled in advance and need only a limited crew.

Solid-fueled missiles can be fired with less warning and are much harder to track, making

them less vulnerable to preemptive strikes.

U.S. war planners believe that with any sign of an attack on North Korea, Kim Jong Un's

plan would be to immediately invade south korea.

CIA analyst Bruce Klingner says that the North would hit the south with an artillery barrage

of thousands of rounds per hour without even moving a single soldier in their million man

army.

A Senior North Korean Military defector also points out that under Kim's new war plan,

before fully invading teh south, they would launch 600 scud missiles armed with chemical

warheads at airports, train stations, marine ports, and at Japan to slow down US reinforcements.

He further paints a terrfiying picture that would make the idea of a worldwide Sharknado

attack look like …just a regular tornado…one without all the sharks…

. He explains that "as wars go, this would be the most unforgiving battle conditions

that can be imagined—an extremely high density of enemy and allied forces—over 2 million

mechanized forces all converging on a total battlespace the equivalent of the distance

between Washington, D.C., and Boston.''

U.S. and South Korean "soldiers would be fighting with little defense against DPRK

artillery, aerial bombardments, and in an urban warfare environment polluted by 5,000

metric tons of DPRK chemical agents."

In 1994, Bill Clinton contemplated a preemptive attack, but decided against it with a projected

death toll of 1 million dead, and $1 trillion of economic damage.

Now imagine the damage with more chemical weapons and nuclear bombs, and 2017 weaponry.

WHO WOULD WIN?

I'm not gonna waste too much time on going over scenarios…

But basically… the US would win…

Their weaponary is larger and just way more advanced.

However, victory will come at a cost.

North Korea will fight hard and desperate.

As far as Militaristic Fanatic Countries go, from a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being Ghandi, and

10 being Saddam Hussein….

The North Koreans are somewhere around 20…

Cersei Lannister… having her menopause.

Keep in mind that this is a nation where Everyone…

EVERYONE is enlisted into the army… and at the early age of grade school, kids are

already shown video footage of American soldiers attacking and fighting koreans to develop

a thirst for american blood.

KIM JONG UN: A MAD MAN?

Or JUST..

MAD BRA?

There is a popular belief that Kim Jong Un is insane…

Even John McCain calls him "the crazy fat kid that runs North Korea", which is ironic

because only one of the two are actually named after a brand of french fries…

But the reality is that North Korea's actions are more out of strategic desperation…

The difference is that someone who is crazy, is building their military and nuclear weapons

because they want to just fight and watch the world burn….

Desperation, although scary in itself, is a much more predictable kind of scary, and

you have the solace that they probably don't actually want total World Annihilation for

the sake of having some shits and giggles.

When we look at North Koreas more recent history, we can then understand the motives behind

their behaviour.

The 1990s came about a famine that killed tens of thousands of North Koreans and following

thereafter wave after wave of poverty.

Military strategists point out that all you have to do to see the poverty is to compare

satellite pictures at night of Seoul South Korea against Pyongyang, North Korea and see

that one is lit up and vibrant with city life while the other one is in darkness.

One lesson that was clearly passed down from his grandfather Kim Il Sung, to his dad Kim

Jong Il, is that they understand that a strong military power is the quickest way to demand

the world to deal with them.

Strategically, the geographical close proximity they are to China and South Korea makes China

and South Korea, in a way, held hostage to having to keep up trade and occassionally

give them aid.

A happy well fed north korea means a less trigger happy north korea…

SOLUTION

Right now there isn't much in the way of stopping North Korea from creating a nuclear

warhead….

And that's what makes this whole situatuion so complicated…

The world really doesn't need another nuclear armed Military dictator, but striking them

could mean a devastating war as well.

One way to neutralize the situation is going for a stalemate.

Now, this might sound counter intuitive and hypocritical, but solidifying south korea's

border with more forces and defenses would be a lot of help.

It would take away the advantage North Korea already has as far as already having all their

forces at the ready.

Of course, it would need to be gradually and covertly without making it look like a sudden

attack.

And as far as their nukes go, we have to hope that kim jong un really isn't insane and

suicidal… because nothing would guarantee their own destruction quicker than using a

nuclear weapon on anyone.

Therefore, it would be a stalemate.

Remember When CNN Mocked Trump For Saying Obama Wiretapped Him? Look What They're Saying Now(VIDEO) - Duration: 9:13.

Remember when CNN mocked Trump for saying he was wiretapped? Look what they're saying now after secret docs revealed.

that cinnamon is being echoed by other Republican colleagues including senator

Ben Sasse of Nebraska who put out a statement a little while ago as saying

that the public needs more information about the president's allegations he

says that if there was wiretapping it was either with or without a warrant

from a special court known as a FISA Court if it was without that warrant

then the president needs to explain what kind of wiretap this was and how he

knows about it and if it was with with this legal court order he says the

president should ask that the application for surveillance be made

public to everyone or at the very least to the US Senate he went on to say we're

in the midst of a civilization warping crisis of trust and the president's

allegations today demand the thorough and dispassionate attention of serious

patriots and it's worth restating here Pamela just what shamone was saying and

that is that former senior officials are saying that the idea that the thin

candidate trumps bones were a wiretap is just wrong one other official said it

was just nonsense

the Justice Department revealing it has found no evidence zero evidence that

Trump Tower was ever wiretapped as the President had allege in a series of

tweets in an official filing just today the DOJ rights both FBI and NSD

confirmed that they have no records related to wiretaps as described by the

March 4th 2017 tweets now among the president's tweets were these

accusations he writes terrible just found out that Obama had my wires tapped

in Trump Tower just before the victory nothing found this is McCarthyism he

went on to say how low as President Obama gone to tap my phones during the

very sacred election process this is Nixon / Watergate bad or sick guy let's

bring in CNN political analyst and political historian Julian Zelizer and

editor-in-chief of the hill Bob Cusack book both back with us now first I'll go

to you Bob first your reaction to the DOJ saying it has no evidence of

wiretapping at Trump Tower in spite of the claims the president made in his

tweets yeah those claims really really upended

Washington and shocked a lot of people and and the White House has never fully

described what the situation was and there's been no firm data showing that

the president was wiretap so it's just another head scratcher tweet that that

we've seen from the president

man afford under surveillance cNN has learned that investigators wiretapped

former Trump campaign Chairman Paul Manafort under secret court order both

before and after the 2016 election and that surveillance continued into this

year including a period when mana fort wasn't working for the campaign but was

known to talk with President Donald Trump Pamela brown Evan Perez and Shimon

pro-q PES broke this story and they are out front tonight so much to ask all of

you as this break so Evan let's just start off with the bottom line here what

are you learning tonight well Aaron sources tell us that the FBI got

permission from the secretive Surveillance Court to monitor Paul

Manafort the former Trump campaign chairman before and after the election

now this is an extraordinary step for the FBI to do surveillance on a

high-ranking campaign official and of course Manafort is now at the center of

the Russia meddling investigation we're told that there are inter intercepted

communications that raised concerns about whether Manafort was encouraging

the Russians to help with the campaign now other sources told us that this

intelligence was not conclusive enough Robert Special Counsel Robert molars

team has been provided all of these communications they're so evident when

you say encouraging mana for encouraging Russians to help with the campaign

obviously the weight of everything is on that word encouraging what do you mean

by it right there's a lot we don't know about exactly what was said am i wait

this is beyond just wiretap it's also surveillance of all kinds including

searches that that the FBI is authorized to do but we're told that the FBI has

communications between suspected Russian operatives relaying what they claimed

were discussions with Manafort as well as communications involving Manafort

none of this has amounted to what people consider a smoking gun in this

investigation there's still more work being done to determine whether there's

a criminal violation here we didn't get a comment from Paul Manafort spokesman

but Manafort has previously denied that he ever knowingly communicated with

Russian intelligence operatives during the election he's also denied helping

Russia undermine the US interests air so Pamela you're reporting here that Paul

Manafort has been monitored once but twice that's right Aaron so our

team is told that the secret order began after mana four became the subject of an

FBI investigation in 2014 we previously reported that centered on work done by a

group of Washington consulting firms for Ukraine's former ruling party our

sources say and the surveillance was discontinued at some point last year for

lack of evidence according to one of the sources and then the FBI restarted the

surveillance after obtaining a new FISA warrant that extended at least into

early this year the sources say the second warrant was

part of the FBI's efforts to investigate ties between Trump campaign associates

and suspected Russian operatives now it is unclear when that new warrant started

and as part of the the FISA warrant we've learned Aaron that earlier this

year the FBI conducted a search of a storage facility belonging to Paul

Manafort and as you'll recall this past July under Robert Muller's direction the

FBI raided his home in Virginia and of course we knew that but as part of what

you're breaking tonight that that rate of the storage facility obviously new

information we know he had a storage facility until this hour and we didn't

know that they had raided it so that's also very significant

shamone do you know though whether President Trump spoke to manna fort

while he was under surveillance that of course could be crucial here as well

yeah exactly our an extremely crucial but what we do know and what we've been

told by sources is that the president and Manafort were still talking earlier

this year well after the campaign and it is a time that we've learned the FBI was

listening to manna firts phone calls so it is possible that those phone

conversations were collected during that surveillance as they were listening to

them so that we don't have a specific answer for but it is possible Aaron all

right which is a crucial point and of course the President had said vocally

again and again that he was wiretapped and that he meant that to mean not just

phones but all kinds of surveillance was he right well not exactly so we do know

that you know and the Justice Department has spoken out about this and they have

denied that the president's own lines were tapped were wiretap but as we said

it is possible that he was picked up on Manafort surveillance we should know

that madam for does have a residence in Trump Tower but

it is not clear if the FBI did surveillance on madam Ford at Trump

Tower so so Pam what does this mean all of this for the Moller investigation as

you and Evan point out he now is in possession of whatever came from this

this this wiretap right he is in possession it is in his hands and the

pawn man afford investigation has been really the most visible investigation

under Robert Muller the special counsel started in May and and there we know

that there is a raid on his storage facility before Robert Miller took over

but then you have that raid this past July it's unclear if those stemmed from

any of the intelligence that was gathered under the FISA warrant but it

is clear that investigators are still very interested in de Paul Manafort

under the direction of Robert Muller Aaron and Evan a couple questions here a

one obviously manna fort for some time with all of this focus I'm sure has been

careful in what he says and how he communicates but but do you know if this

surveillance is still ongoing in any way and what is the significance that they

were able to get this crucial FISA warrant to do it well we don't know

exactly when the the timeline of this surveillance whether it has ended

whether it is continuing to this day but look the fact that they were able to get

a FISA warrant is a big deal the fact is that this has to get approval from the

highest levels of the Justice Department and the FBI before agents can carry out

this type of surveillance it's considered so intrusive that you almost

never find out that these FISA warrants are authorized Aaron and then the other

thing is that you have to present proof or suspicions that someone is acting as

an agent of a foreign power all of this goes into providing the paperwork that

these judges then have to approve before allowing the FBI to do this type of

surveillance it's very intrusive work very interested working obviously very

not easy to get really hard to get as you all point out all right thank you so

much shamone evan Pamela

Donald Trump saved cats from flood? - Duration: 3:38.

I don't think that's what the president meant when he said he likes to grab them by the (meow).

Some of you may have seen the picture circulating of a man in a flood with

cats in his hands, and Donald Trumps head on his shoulders.

It's fake, phony, fake.

Now most reasonable people can see that the picture is

clearly not real. Unfortunately not all Trump supporters

have mastered the art of spotting fake new, so we may need to help them out a little bit here.

Sheila on facebook says it's nice to see that Trump is an animal love

and is out saving helpless animals.

Now do these two fellas really look like somebody that was

raised by animal lover Donald Trump loves animals just as much

as they love it which is not very much. Charlene says: I think the major

networks forgot to publish this picture. Um, maybe because it's not real

Now I understand that some fake news can be a little tough to spot, you know like

Jeff Sessions moonlights as a mall elf. Or Melanias face finally got stuck like that.

It could be true. We just don't know.

Sharon on facebook thinks that the picture

might be fake, but she thinks it should be shared anyway because it's

something he would do. Uh, no it's not something he would do, and you can still like the

president without expecting him to risk his life to save pets in a flood. Take for instance

I like Bernie Sanders, and while the thought of him wading through floodwaters to save

kittens in a natural disaster is absolutely adorable, I don't need him to

be that person. And I suspect that in the situation, he would probably say I'm not going

to get in the water, and I'm okay with that. Okay maybe a little

disappointed. Not all Trump supporters fell for this hoax. Marcus on

Facebook said upon examination of a zoomed in version of this photo and

comparison of pixel shading around the head, I have come to the conclusion that

this image has been altered. Really Columbo?

There are plenty of ways to tell that this is not actually Donald Trump's body

Number one. Those hands! Look how strong and manly. And the fingers are so long and

luxurious. Those are not the modest digits of Mr. Donald J. Trump.

Number tow. That stomach! "The one thing I would like to do is be able to drop

15 to 20 pounds". Yeah, try sixty! Now to be fair most of us

not named Dwayne Johnson would have a tough time pulling off the t-shirt and

jeans in a natural disaster look. But we're talking about a 70 year old man that

lives on fast food and literally thinks that exercise is dangerous. That is not

his stomach. And number three. Look how calm those cats are! Well they don't look

particularly happy because cats don't like water

cats don't like a lot of things actually, but they especially don't like the

president.

Now in case you were wondering, the real man in this picture is a guy named Brandon Smith,

and those are his two cats Fry and Bender, so if you want to thank somebody

you should thank this guy. You might need a time machine though. This picture was taken

in 2008 in Iowa, right around the same time that Donald Trump was saying this.

Bill Clinton was a great president, Hillary Clinton is a great woman

and a good woman. She's a little bit misunderstood

you know Hillary is a very smart woman, very tough woman that's fine

but she's also a very nice person.

Kellyanne Conway Fights Fire With Fire Annihilates Emmys Hollywood For Anti-Trump Broadcast! - Duration: 10:34.

Kellyanne Conway Fights Fire With Fire Annihilates Emmys Hollywood For Anti-Trump Broadcast

peered away in Kelly and Conway counselor to the president Kelly Ann

good morning so what will what will our president's message be in front of that

this group of global elites at the UN president Trump will be promoting peace

he'll be promoting prosperity and sovereignty and accountability North

Korea is not a distinctly American problem it is the world's challenge now

and the president will call upon our allies and others to come together to

push back against a nuclear capable North Korea also you see the

deterioration of democracy in Venezuela you see hotspots around the globe like

Syria obviously the Iran nuclear deal that was UN sanctioned is very much on

this president's mind he's been talking about that since he was a candidate and

but he'll also promote prosperity because prosperity is also everyone's

business to make sure that our sovereign nations

pursue economic prosperity for its citizenry the way they they see fit and

this president also has always called for a better balance a better deal and

trade deals for this country he's putting American workers and American

companies and American employers in American interests first and how that

goes into a UN address like this is making clear that he will always come to

the table in good faith but that these deals need to benefit Americans more

same thing with UN reform and then finally sovereignty and accountability

we need to be sovereign nations with physical borders this is a big part of

the president's very busy September where he will continue domestically to

to be talking about the border wall interior enforcement other major tenets

of his immigration plan and take really gone a road tour no promoting his tax

reform tax relief plan absolutely busy September no kidding so it's interesting

he's gonna be spending a couple of days here talking about things but you

brought up North Korea you know that really is the tough one and while he's

going to speak before the assembled countries it's really the country of

China because they've cut off fuel supplies by 30 percent they really have

to do it a hundred percent Kellyanne to be

effective the president has really have been engaging China you know almost from

day one because he established a much better relationship with President Xi

but at the same time those diplomatic channels have not worked obviously the

economic sanctions will I mean North Korea sanctions his own people yeah I

mean who we all know that and so you do see the president himself commented on

Twitter yesterday about the long gas lines and it would be it is important I

believe for the president to keep talking to China as well well go ahead

Kelly and the president tweeted last December east of the United Nations has

such great potential but right now it is just a club for people to get together

talk and have a good time so sad so will you elaborate on that because a lot of

people watching might not know what happens in the UN and when these world

leaders get together what does he mean by that specifically I know you played a

clip earlier too and thanks for recalling that clip from December 28th I

happen to be a Mara Lago that day when the president made those comments about

how the UN just needs to be more responsive that it needs to be held

accountable to its member nations but the member nations according to this

president also have to pull their weight and contribute financially and otherwise

we're very happy that UN reform is on the agenda and this president mr. Trump

is certainly open to UN reforms and we're very happy but recently by 15 to 0

twice you had a unanimous vote agreeing to sanction North Korea so we know that

there are aspects of the UN in that case the UN Security Council that work well

in times of crises but the fact is that the UN like many member organizations

should be very responsive to its member states but the member states also should

be responsive there are some big things that can be worked on together and I

think that's the president's point he's going there the best way to reform a

body and organization a nation is from doing it from the inside from the inside

and he's going there and I'm sure he will talk about that as well the

sovereignty and the accountability as well the accountability even member

nations be the accountability of the larger organization to those member

nations Kellyanne I saw an item on I think the hill comm yesterday where it

said the before the whole reconciliation

thing runs out it sounds like Mitch McConnell is going

to try to bring up healthcare again before the end of September is that a

possibility where they if they could get 50 US senators to say yep I'm on board

could that happen it could happen and you probably know and I've been covering

that the Graham Cassidy bill is gaining in support and steam many of the

governors like it I'm told we're close to 50 votes or so in the Senate I we

know that mr. Menendez is otherwise indisposed

in New Jersey so that changes the mathematical calculus in the Senate and

and this is important this president wants to deliver coverage for those 29

million Americans who don't have it who relied to about keeping their plan and

keeping their doctor and who have been left out of the process people had the

worst possible outcome under Obamacare they have this insurance card that they

could not use so being their premiums spiked obviously the deductibles were

out of control and and the in Graham Cass I think allowing the individual

more freedom and allowing many of those important healthcare delivery aspects

components to go into this bill so that repealing and replacing Obamacare really

takes hold is incredibly important now the president keeps saying and he's

right he's been here for seven or eight months

they've been talking about this for seven eight years he's ready

you put meaningful repeal and replace legislation on his desk and he will sign

does Mitch have enough yeses it looks like it looks like they're getting there

I speak to our legislative affairs office saw continuously and I know that

senators Graham and Cassidy worked very hard along with a former senator Rick

Santorum on this alternative plan and and have again being I think gaining

support of many governors that's okay because to get those Medicaid dollars to

the governors who are closer to those in need is is really important to help here

reforms absolutely will Kellyanne I I've heard a rumor that when the year starts

out the first date you Circle is that Sunday night of the Emmys and you make

sure you don't miss it you pop popcorn and enjoy it your takeaway yesterday

from the three-hour celebrity I don't know political rally it did feel that

way I guess it's sort of the same it's the same 'no sit

sits they get they got plucked and polished and waxed and some of them

didn't eat for two months and all for what to sound the same and there they

have a right to speak but if you're tuning in to watch if you're American

you're tuning in to watch your favorite actors and actresses and shows and I

used to do it routinely as a kid who's going to win and and oh she lost and I

love her show more and there's very little of that it's between the Emmys

the Miss America pageant was very politicized our sports are very

politicized and it looks like the ratings are suffering it looks like

America is responding by tuning out because they want you to stick to your

knitting they want you to I guess in this case read the stuff other people

write for you and so they're welcome to their opinion

but how does it really fit I got that feeling of the old you know the old

Sesame Street song one of these things does not belong here just it was on and

on and on and I think it's this culture of sameness that I talk about look at

the media Research Center News Buster's analysis recently were 91 percent 91

percent of the coverage about President Trump in the in the summer was negative

I felt the same last night watching it but I am so happy Kate McKinnon was able

to get her Emmy I know she thought Hillary Clinton but I had to be much

more fun to to play me yes she used to play she she used to play Hillary and

then Sean Spicer of course Melissa McCarthy they they panned over to her in

the audience when Sean comes out for folks at home that didn't see it we're

gonna show you a soundbite if Sean Spicer coming out with his podium will

get your reaction this was shocking is there anyone who could say how big the

audience is Sean do you know

audience to witness and Emmys period hmm that's funny what do you think I'm very

happy my former White House colleagues Sean Spicer is a man of good humor and

he's been quoted recently saying life outside is much more relaxed so I'm very

happy for him this is something that a lot of folks in Hollywood sometimes lack

which is introspection and good humor but you know back back to also your

original question I'd like to tie it all together here it's people have the right

to speak freely that's very obvious we live in the greatest democracy in the

world that allows that we're doing it presently

but again to what end in other words it doesn't really you're alienating six at

least 63 million Americans who reported this president last time but you're

alienating many more who want the President to succeed and you're showing

the world that you're so easy with an insult about our about our leader I

think that's really unfortunate actually Kellyanne do you think the president

United States will call Alec Baldwin today to congratulate him for winning an

Emmy for playing Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live let me predict the

future no and he probably parently noticed he's addressing the United

Nations General Assembly today there's a lot of things on the president united

states docket North Korea Iran and Syria Venezuela healthcare reform the border

wall he's a busy guy no phone call to Alec Baldwin all right Kellyanne thank

you thank you busy week all right a still ahead on this Monday telecast new

surveillance video may have actually captured one of the London subway

bombers leaving his foster home what could this mean for the investigation

Aaron Cohen here to discuss coming up the foster family was honored by the

Queen by the way that's what that video meant and people on TV look

you

News Wrap: UN hasn't reached its full potential, says Trump - Duration: 3:30.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: For President Trump today, it was the kickoff of his first United Nations

General Assembly.

As a candidate, he had roundly criticized the world body.

Today, he spoke at a meeting on U.N. reform, and said the U.S. will work with Secretary-General

Antonio Guterres to make changes.

DONALD TRUMP, President of the United States: The United Nations has not reached its full

potential because of bureaucracy and mismanagement.

While the United Nations on a regular budget has increased by 140 percent and its staff

has more than doubled since 2000, we are not seeing the results in line with this investment,

but I know that, under the secretary-general, that's changing, and it's changing fast.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: The president also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

and talked again of trying for an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal.

Mr. Trump addresses the full General Assembly tomorrow.

The president also spoke with Chinese leader Xi Jinping by phone about enforcing new sanctions

on North Korea.

This came as the North warned that new pressure will only increase its drive to develop more

nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, in live drills, the U.S. military sent a pair of B-1B bombers and F-35 stealth

fighters over South Korea.

It was the second such flight in recent weeks.

Hurricane Maria has closed in on the Eastern Caribbean tonight, threatening the very same

islands wrecked by Hurricane Irma.

By this evening, the storm was passing Martinique with winds of 130 miles an hour, making it

a Category 4 storm and still growing.

The Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are in the projected path tomorrow and Wednesday.

There are new signs of recovery today in Florida, a week after Hurricane Irma swept the state.

Schools in Miami-Dade and Broward County reopened for more than 600,000 students.

Other systems, and some colleges, remain closed.

In the hard-hit Florida Keys, Governor Rick Scott and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human

Services Tom Price warned today of potential dangers to those returning.

TOM PRICE, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary: There's mold challenges.

There are the marine life that -- and diseases that occur.

So they need to take precautions, simple wearing of gloves, making certain that when they are

moving debris that they are being cautious and that they are not inhabiting a place that

is uninhabitable.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Utility crews have restored power to the great majority of those who lost

it during the storm, but nearly 800,000 people remained in the dark today.

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is recommending that four large national monuments in the

West be downsized.

It's widely reported the sites are Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante in Utah.

They cover more than three million acres, as well as two others in Nevada and Oregon.

Zinke also recommended lifting curbs on logging and mining at several other sites.

Environmentalists have condemned the proposal.

President Trump has said designating these monuments amounted to a federal land grab.

On Wall Street today, the Dow Jones industrial average gained 63 points to close at 22331.

The Nasdaq rose six points, and the S&P 500 added three.

And some history was made at the 69th annual Emmy Awards last night.

"The Handmaid's Tale," which was shown on Hulu, won for best drama series.

It's the first such award for a video streaming service.

And Lena Waithe became the first African-American woman to win an Emmy for best comedy-writing,

for the show "Master of None."

HBO's political satire "Veep" won best comedy, and "Saturday Night Live" won nine awards,

the most of the evening.
