I need to delete in bulk the photos uploaded from my device onto a google photos account. Basically, I had auto backup on and pregnancy tests and inappropriate photos of my girlfriend in my camera roll have ALL BEEN UPLOADED to my GRANDMAS GOOGLE PHOTOS ACCOUNT once I logged into her google account one time to help her with something. So I'm praying she doesn't open it up and see the pregnancy test results and inappropriate photos but there are hundreds, maybe thousands of pictures so I do not have time to select all of them. Need to delete all pictures that were uploaded from my device PLEASE HELP. I don't want to delete all of her photos of her grandchildren and that is a last resort but I don't want her to know that my gf is pregnant yet or see the hundreds of naked pictures of her either.

Edit: nevermind. In the app, it shows all of the pictures in your camera roll as well, so it just looked like they were in her account. Literally shit my pants twice as soon as I saw that. Wish there was a way to see only photos in the google drive account instead of seeing camera roll and google photos.

There is no way because of confusing design (yes: also Great Google can be wrong). 

There should have been two pages: one for showing your local pictures and one for showing what is stored at Google at the account logged-in (which normally is your own account). 

Then it also would be clear what you are going to delete: locals or copies in cloud. 

But hélas: it is extremely difficult to get them on the right track. 

Nevertheless I wish you a happy 2022

PS: it is not clear if you did use the app just for helping your grandma or also for backing up your own pictures and creating shared albums for your grandma and other family. In that case is more wise to hide your sensitive photos by archiving them, just to prevent accidental sharing and showing on the bench.

I am using a Pixel 2 with the default Photos app.  I recently noticed that quite a few of the photos taken on my phone are missing from my Google Drive.  The Photos app reports "backup complete" but it looks like only photos in albums are actually accessible on Google Drive.

Any suggestions on how to force a full backup?  I have already tried restarting the phone, force stopping and the restarting the app, and disabling and enabling that app (though I canceled the replace app with factory version since I was unsure what that meant).

I have read elsewhere people saying to Clear Data and Clear Cache.  Will this effect the photos on my phone - aka clear the actual photos?  Should I clear one or both?

I do understand the inconvenience you're facing for not being able to find your photos. Could you please confirm if you're not able to see the photos through Google Drive or Google Photos?

If you're referring to Google Photos, I recommend checking the web version of Google Photos to find your photos.

If that doesn't help, I suggest checking the below options to find them:

• Blogger
  
• YouTube
  
• Gmail
  
• Google+

If you don't find them, I recommend looking for the photos using the below links:

• drive.google.com (under Google Photos)
  
• get.google.com/albumarchive
  
• other online photo or file storage services you use (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud).

However, if you're referring to Google Drive, I recommend posting your question in the Google Drive Help Forum for a faster resolution.

Emma, thanks for the reply.  But the photos do not appear to be syncing to Drive.  I've done a pretty thorough search of my Google space and I don't see them.  I do see the photos from my old Nexus 5X.  But not from my Pixel 2.  Only the images that I've put in albums seen to be syncing to Drive.

Is there a way to force a complete sync from the phone app?

Could you please confirm if you've turned on backup and sync in your device through the below steps?

• Open the Google Photos app .
• Sign in to your Google Account.
• At the top, tap Menu.
• Select Settings.
• Click on Back up & sync.
• Tap Back up & sync on or off.

If yes, please write back to me with a screenshot so that I can look into the matter and help you accordingly. Please redact any personal information while sharing the screenshot.

Probably just a few of these Google robot surprises - no criminal hacking. 

Switch-off all fancy stuff under Memories in the settings under your account profile circle. 

Or you simply did have edited some yourself in the Chrome-browser at viewing photos.google.com on your computer and you saw a message about unsynchronised changes in the Photos-app on your phone.
