Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

You can install the Google One app. There is a one time option to restore up to two hundred most recent photos to the device.

However, that will not restore the local folder structure.

There is no requirement to join Google One. The option is available to everyone.

However, the method may not be helpful to recover something when the count is more than two hundred.

Or, you can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/.

Select the Google Photos app for data download.

Once the file is ready, you will get an email. Access that & unzip all the attachments into your phone's gallery. However, you have to ensure your phone has free space more than the size of the downloaded zip file.

It sounds like MAYBE somebody enabled partner sharing..

Check in Settings within the Google Photos app or here: https://photos.google.com/u/0/settings (Look for "Partner sharing" and then "Remove partner" if desired)

Clean-up may be a little more difficult, and may be easier on a computer. Depending on which dates were specified at set-up (again assuming that it was Partner Sharing that did this), the photos might be mostly in one be block - if so, this might help you find the block and you can select and delete up to 500 images at a time:

It is always a good idea to store important images in more than one place / tool. My photos are in Google Photos, on my laptop, and on multiple external disk drives (not connected to any computer or network).

Open Google Photos
Tab Library
Tap the desired folder under Photos on device
Select photos by long pressing then tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
- You can also long press and stroke down to select a batch
Tap the 3 dot menu top right
Tap Move to folder
Tap New SD folder, type a folder name then tap Create

Note that if the photos are backed up to Google Photos this will not remove them from the Photos view and even if the new folder is not selected for Backup & sync any contents will still be deleted if deleted using the Google Photos app.

You should also have a setting in your camera app which saves new photos to the SD card.

The Google Photos app does not copy anything into your phone, but at Google only just to have safe copies in cloud in case your phone fallls in the Niagara or needs to get exchanged by a new one. Of course the app also needs some space for its own householding, but that can't be prevented. And your S9 is fairly old, so it has less space compared to a new one - also due to additional apps and storing a lot of social stuff.

So you need to clean-up your Samsung Gallery or you simply need a new phone and when you log-in with the same Google-account (probably also used for Gmailing), the Photos-app on the new phone will show (not copy) your S9-photos as far as they got backupped at Google without any need for other copying-actions which will use much space again.

Thus switch-on backup again and remove a couple of very old movies from your Samsung Gallery to get some space back until you have the new one and that can be an A52 instead of an S21 :-)

For Google Photos, see this about recovering photos & videos. Note that photos/videos permanently deleted from Google Photos Trash are not recoverable. Since on Android, could try a Photo Recovery App just be sure to find one that does not need to use rooting.

Google Photos will not automatically delete anything from the main photo stream or storage area unless you tell it to either by using the 'Free Up Space Option" on the left side menu, or, by moving an item to the trash and letting it age for 60 days, at which point Google will start deleting trashed items that have aged.

So, double check the trash to make sure no full size remaining videos are there.

You can also launch Google Photos, and go to the search bar, then in the drop down menu of options, select Videos (these tend to be the source videos from which Movies are created. So you may see your source videos there in better quality than the edited movie.)

Also, you may want to check out YouTube Enhancement features. You can download your edited movies and re-upload to YouTube. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1388383?hl=en&authuser=0

The Article About This Issue ... Might Help You.If you want to get a deleted item back, check your trash to see if you can get it back. Photos or videos that you previously backed up and then deleted are kept in your Trash for 60 days.

Can't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video is not in the trash, you cannot restore it. You cannot restore the photo in the following cases:

If you moved the photo to the trash more than 60 days ago. If you moved the photo to the trash and emptied your trash. If you permanently deleted the photo from the trash. If you have permanently deleted the photo from your device's Gallery app without backing it up.

I believe you were using screen mirroring on Amazon Fire Stick.

Nevertheless, you can try another route.

Open the link https://photos.google.com through the Silk browser on Fire Stick. Log into your Google account. Then you can view all your pics through the browser.

I was attempting to organize my photos to store in 1 cloud location, so I started to create some photo albums and put my photos in them. Then I used the free up space function in the google photos app to clear up the photos in my phone, thinking that the photos are already stored on cloud.
