attorney Michael Cohen as you've all heard his name his office was raided

yesterday now he's being investigated for possible bank fraud and campaign

finance violations but you know who these things a little differently take a

look so I just heard that they broke into the office of one of my personal

attorneys good man and it's a disgraceful situation it's a total witch

hunt I've been saying it for a long time so it's frankly a real disgrace it's a

an attack on our country in a true sense it's an to tackle and what we all stand

for okay let's let's be clear no one broke in no okay no they had

you know regardless of where you stand politically let us stick to that fact no

one broke into this office no one broke in a warrant they went in and several

people including some of his appointees had to sanction that warrant to go

forward yeah so let's that you know no one is attacking our country our country

is working well since people put aside what we always talk about is their bias

and said yes maybe we need to take a look at this and so I want to be clear

that nobody is that nobody is sneaking this is not Watergate right this is not

Watergate there to steal something these people were there to find something yeah

it's different and I think it's important you know to note that he

should not have used those terms because he's had this attack on the FBI and he's

had this attack on our legal institutions this was a valid search

warrant and when you get a search warrant especially for an attorney's

office you have to have an affidavit in support of the search warrant that's to

be signed by a judge and approved by a federal magistrate judge and I have

myself written up those affidavits for search warrants and I can tell you they

are well thought out they are there are documents that support it and I mean

I've issued some of them they're like 40 pages long so the suggestions somehow

that they shouldn't have been there doesn't hold your water fight some but

for me though some of that helped because I think we keep hearing the term

witch-hunt yeah whenever anyone covers this they're looking for anything even

if it's not Russian related but you explain a prosecutor is obligated if

they come across something that's illegal but doesn't fall under their

investigation to pass it along to the proper party which is exactly what

Muller did here well maybe I mean certainly if it was outside of the

Russia investigation then you a referral to the proper prosecutorial division but

if even if it were part of the Muller investigation you would still refer it

to the Southern District of New York because that is where the office is all

and all missiles fired at Syria get ready Russia because they will be

coming nice and new and smart you shouldn't be partners with a gas killing

animal who kills his people and enjoys it the tweet brought howls of hypocrisy

from some corners isn't this the same president who trashed President Obama

for telegraphing his military intentions he certainly hasn't laid out the

timetable which is would be broadcasting his intentions other critics took aim at

the president for not having a cohesive strategy on Syria announcing one week

that he wants American troops out now threatening a military strike

I think the president does not have a serious strategy and I

think one off attacks for tweets missile strikes are not the same as a strategy

the president's national security team including defense secretary James

options Matt is saying earlier today that the u.s. is still awaiting

confirmation that chemical weapons were in fact used in Douma we're still

assessing the the intelligence of ourselves and our allies we're still

working on this we stand ready to provide military options if they're

volunteer researcher for a Syria opposition group before the Civil War

started what is your take on this what does the US need to do here well the

immediate objective is to have some type of deterrent effect on Assad so that the

chemical weapons attacks and other forms of attacks like the barrel bombs can be

stopped and that's very doable because he has a weak air force we have the

capability to strike at his shipments of fuel the stuff that's coming in and out

of the ports that the Russians have to use so there's plenty of targets are

vulnerable hitting just a handful of them would have a dramatic effect on the

ground and it has to be more than punishment what has to happen is that

the dictator Assad has to actually look at the situation and say my chances of

losing this war go up when I do things like this and therefore I'm going to

stop doing it and that's the calculation we have to aim

for Russia on his side preventing that well right that big Russia did say they

came out this morning I saw a news report that said they would retaliate

they would look to stop any missiles coming to Syria and they would strike

any places where those missiles were coming from we've heard that every time

there's been some type of confrontation with a Russian ally that's kind of just

how they talk and if you look at what happened with the air strike last year

that we gave a warning to the Russians they got their people out so that there

weren't casualties there is an arrangement and giving that heads-up

doesn't really make much a difference if you're going after hard targets because

you can't pick those up and that's really what you're going at this is more

aggressive than that though you're talking about is a step up from what we

did last year so there has to be more risk involved with it know there is any

time you have a greater number of strikes there's a greater number of risk

obviously but if it's especially if it's missiles coming from the sea and hitting

these parts especially the shipments so that you can't get supplies in and out

that's very doable it's not something that Russia is going to want to risk a

war over will they try to shoot down some cruise missiles maybe launch a

cyberattack probably because Putin always has to at the end of the day be

able to say look there's the proof that America is weak and I'm the future of

the world what is the end objective here because

we had one strike on an airfield last year there was a chlorine gas attack

earlier this year in January in which our response was essentially a letter

from the State Department there was no force taken at all and that

sends a message to Bashar al Assad doesn't not so what is the end objective

to essentially take out the air force Assad's air force here that's what I

think it's going to be it may not be the explicit objective of saying no more

planes in the sky at all but it'll be to at least cripple it to the point where

there is a difference on the ground and that advantage is lost by Assad and then

increases the pressure on him and in the past when it looked like Assad was going

to lose significant territory the Russian tone did change they would say

we like Assad he's our friend but we are not dedicated only to him and

you would actually have people opposed to Assad that we're going over to Russia

so Russia wants a puppet state they want a military base there and they think

Assad is a loser they look to someone else so I don't

rule out the possibility of cooperating with the Russians in the future if we

handle this very careful this coalition I'm sorry the coalition that was fairly

easy I mean do you think the journal talked about France the UK Sarabia

coalition is done yeah so many people hate Assad that that's just a matter of

a few phone calls I am concerned about what allies we get involved in this like

Qatar I suppose that Ally that supports every

enemy of ours Turkey especially Turkey's demands that we ditch our allies the

Kurds and their alliance that includes Christians so I get worried about the

influence of these partners giving us bad advice for their own selfish aims

but I think we should particularly northern Syria double down on the Kurds

and their alliance there because you're actually hat seeing the beginnings of a

democratic future in that part of Syria it's an amazing story that's not told

just one last thing before we move on to another topic but in terms of Syria does

this mean the u.s. is not getting out of Syria as president because they again

president Trump linked that to Isis being on the run but this is the most

serious problem for the Syrian people is the leader who's still there are we

there for maybe even a few years to come yeah definitely because even if you were

to go back to the original position say look so it's not a concern anymore my

concern is just Isis there are terrorist groups even worse than Isis right now in

Syria including al Qaeda which basically has an army of twenty to twenty-five

thousand people that they've never had before and there's other groups so now

any type of policy that focuses solely on Isis is problematic to me because I

see what's coming around the corner I could be worse I was critical for years

of the foreign policy in a position of the Obama administration that they

created this power vacuum overseas and the suggestion that we're getting out of

Syria would do the very same thing and it's a terrible signal to send also

especially when you don't have benchmarks and saying we're going to

accomplish a B and C before that happens right I want to move on Ryan switch

gears to back here at home House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devon

Nunez calling out the Justice Department for failing to provide an unredacted

two-page document this is an electronic communication used to formally begin the

Russia probe the California Congressman laying out the potential consequences

last night on the Ingraham angle I could just tell you that we're not going to

just hold in contempt we will have a plan to holding contempt and to impeach

to impeach Christopher Rea absolutely rod Rosen or not we're not messing

around here Ryan your reaction to that this type of stuff drives me crazy with

the government bureaucracies because whether they're trying to cover up

something or they're just being difficult this is actually a threat to

encounter constantly where you ask for something reasonable they refuse to give

it to you they fight to the death to not give it to you and when you get it it's

government that this is touching upon beyond the politics of today with the

whole probe with Russia so one I wonder though just listening to what newness

said there if there's some if there's some for at least is worth questioning

whether or not there's some aspect of núñez doing the president's bidding here

on the question of Rosenstein and the question of chris ray the president

talked openly about in the last few days of getting rid of for lack of a better

term so that's it I mean that's where newness is talking about a lot a

different subject but he said we won't hold back we won't go after these guys

and I'm alone know if those two are related would be interesting to watch

and when you think of that if they did their job it wouldn't be right and

Rosenstein did their job and didn't act like they were trying to hide something

about this investigation it would be a moot point it couldn't make that

connection between the president and his legal problems and what's going on

within the FBI and the DOJ in terms of well stonewalling yeah I agree and just

all the parties involved in this I'm really greatly disappointed because

whether you're a supporter of the President or you're against them whoever

is representing you right now the dialogue that goes along with it I find

to be destructive I mean the moral right the FBI deal with FBI personnel

constantly I've never seen it so low and so even from Trump's side some of the

rhetoric comes to income it really does bother me when I see how that impacts

people who sacrifice a lot not just risking their lives but look at what

this type of service does to their marriages their families sacrifice a lot

and then they get basically branded as an agency as a whole as being

politicized or corrupt and by the way we're talking about classified

information so that's why I don't make these final assessments as uh-oh what

happened or didn't happen because 90% way you're talking about it's not

Slovenians to Jimmy Kimmel: Lay off Melania Trump's accent - Duration: 5:08.

SEVNICA, Slovenia — Few residents of this central Slovenian town known for its underwear

factory, salami festival and hilltop medieval castle had heard of Jimmy Kimmel, Sean Hannity

or the recent barbs they traded on TV and on social media.

But when they heard that it all began with a joke that Kimmel made about Melania Trump's

accent on his ABC show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, many were not happy about it.

Sevnica, population approximately 5,000, sits in a valley next to the Sava River.

The town dates back to at least the 13th century.

It is also where the former model and First Lady of the United States spent her youth

when she was named Melanija Knavs.

"It's very hard to speak English.

Melania's been in the U.S. so long and she still has some problems, but Jimmy Kimmel

should come to Slovenia and see how hard it is to speak another language," said Helena

Horjak, 24, who works in a meat processing factory here that makes "First Lady" sausages.

"It's just not fair," added Horjak's friend Maya Kantuzar, a nurse, also 24.

"Melania is trying to help everyone.

She is doing a really good job for children."

USA TODAY spoke to the pair in one of the half dozen cafe-bars that line Sevnica's main

street.

Kimmel and Hannity declared a cease-fire Monday over their feud that descended over several

days into an acrimonious back and forth about their political views.

Kimmel often lampoons conservatives such as Hannity, who hosts a FOX News program, over

topics such as health care, immigration and women's rights.

Melania Trump left Slovenia more than two decades ago to pursue a modeling career in

the U.S. and hasn't returned to Sevnica for more than 10 years, but the town has sought

to capitalize on her success since her ascension to the White House.

At Rondo, a pizza and burgers restaurant, owner Bruno Vidmar has added a "Presidential

Burger" to his menu.

It features a slice of fried yellow cheese on top of the bun to represent Trump's hair.

Spicy pickles stand in for his "hot statements" on Mexico, immigration and other topics.

Rondo also serves a cake inspired and named after Melania: A white chocolate mousse, with

nuts, that rests on a buttery crust and is adorned on top with a delicate sliver of gold-leafed

white chocolate.

"She's one of us," said Blaz Klenovsek, 19, a waiter at Rondo, expressing his admiration

for the First Lady.

"There isn't a plaque yet here for her, but maybe one day."

Although up the road at a bakery run by Maya Popadic, 33, there is First Lady Apple Pie

for sale.

"It's just incredible to me that a simple girl from Sevnica could make it so far," said

Popadic, who noted that she was expecting a group of about 40 Slovenian tourists on

Tuesday to sample the pie.

Others have come from the U.S. and Japan.

The First Lady Apple Pie has a large "M" branded in its middle out of powdered sugar.

There is also a "Melania" tour of Sevnica run by the local tourism bureau.

It explores where she went to nursery and middle school and places in Svenica she lived

when it was a small industrial town in what was then Socialist Yugoslavia.

The tourism bureau also sells Melania red wine for about $40 a bottle, described as

a "harmony of taste and quality that satisfies even the most demanding wine lover and is

also an exclusive and elegant present."

Also for sale: Melania beauty cream ("Light nourishing cream with soy oil, hops, coencim

10, vitamins and fatty acids against skin and wrinkling"; dark chocolate ("Long lasting

shades of bittersweet taste before summer raspberry begins to shine"); and tea ("A genuine

aroma of apple strudel, taste of Slovenian home with a hint of cardamon, hibiscus and

lemongrass").

Official statistics from the Sevnica tourism bureau show that tourism to the town has more

than doubled over the last few years to about 1,450 visitors in 2016, the latest year for

which data were available.

It did not have any data on the sales of Melania products.

However, Melania, like her husband, is not shy of hiring lawyers, and has engaged a legal

firm in Slovenia's capital Ljubljana to monitor the use of her name and image.

Rosana Lemut Strle, a lawyer at the firm that represents her, said that her company has

had to crack down on some First Lady products, but wouldn't specify which ones.

"We are very proud of her," said Franja Krajnc, who works in yet another bakery in Svenica

that sells Melania cake.

"There is only one First Lady and she has said that she is teaching her son Barron some

Slovenian.

Her husband, though, he is too aggressive."
