Trump news on Youtube Apr 16 2018

Hi. I`m Carl Azuz for CNN 10.

On Friday night, the United States, the United Kingdom and France worked together to launch

military strikes on the Middle Eastern country of Syria.

Today`s show starts with an explanation of what happened and how people have reacted

to it in Syria and beyond.

The airstrikes were carried out from allied ships, fighter jets and bombers. They were

in response to an apparent chemical weapons attack

earlier this month. It killed dozens of people in the rebel held Syrian town of Douma. Britain,

France and the U.S. blamed the Syrian government

for the attacks. Syria and its ally Russia denied it.

The missiles launched on Friday were aimed at three specific sites, a scientific research

center in the Syrian capital of Damascus and two

chemical weapons facilities near the western Syrian city of Homs. The U.S. military called

the sites the heart of the Syrian chemical weapons program.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DONALD TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: The purpose of our actions tonight is to establish

a strong deterrent against the production, spread

and use of chemical weapons.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ: And President Trump and the U.S. military say Friday`s mission was accomplished.

Russia says the strikes were against international law and that they`ll upset the, quote, political

settlement in the crisis in Syria. Iran,

another ally of Syria, called the strikes a major crime. Israel, an ally of the U.S.,

said it supported the airstrikes and that they enforced U.S.

policy not to allow chemical weapons attacks.

And the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations says American remains locked and loaded to

strike if more chemical attacks are carried out.

There`s been some argument over how effective the strikes. The Syrian government says some

of the targeted sites weren`t damaged at all.

Satellite images provided by the U.S. military showed the opposite.

The Pentagon says every target was hit successfully. Russia, an ally of Syria, says most of the

missiles fired were intercepted by Syrian defense

system.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

NICK PATON WALSH, CNN SENIOR INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: The Syrian regime keeps pumping

out the same propaganda message of effectively

resisting any moves against it. Certainly, during a meeting with Russian lawmakers, Bashar

al-Assad, suggested that in fact it was so Soviet era

legacy almost, Russian supplied anti-aircraft systems that defeated over a hundred state

of the art precision missiles launched by the U.S., U.K. and

France. Obviously, that might be hard to believe. Frankly, it was hard to believe that 70 of

the 100 or so, as Russia claimed, were taken out by

anti-aircraft missiles on the way.

The Pentagon has said none of their missiles were intercepted and in fact shown before

and after satellite imagery, on a commercial basis, showing

the damage done to the pre-selected facilities they chose to target.

But still, regardless of the truth of the matter here, this is about Damascus saying

they`ve really picked themselves up, dusted themselves down

and life is carrying on as normal. Another message Bashar al-Assad gave to those Russian

lawmakers was that we needed $14 billion to rebuild the

country, the parts of the country that have been destroyed by the Syrian civil war, the

Syrian civil war, much of the destruction of which his

military and backers have been behind.

So, Damascus really I think perhaps thinking they`ve dodged a bit of a blow here. It`s

unclear whether they`ve actually taken on board the message

that the use of chemical weapons will or leads to a Western response like this. It was comparatively

small amount of their infrastructure, but was

indeed targeted. But I`m showing Moscow and Tehran, they`re asking themselves whether

or not the last week frankly was worth it, and whether

that`s pressuring Bashar al Assad to again not use weapons of this sort.

AZUZ (voice-over): Ten-second trivia:

Where would you find Grimaldi, Copernicus and the Sea of Clouds?

The Sistine Chapel, the Circuit de Monaco, the Orion Nebula or the moon?

These are all features of the moon, the Earth`s natural satellite.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ: And that is our next stop today on CNN 10. To the moon!

Now, this here is what that satellite looks like in 4K, or ultra high definition resolution.

It comes to us courtesy of a NASA mission launched

in 2009 called the lunar reconnaissance orbiter mission. Its cost is an estimated $583 million.

Its goal is to make detailed maps of the moon.

So, this is a virtual tour. If you`ll kindly return your tray tables to their full upright

position and direct your attention through the window.

You`ll see what the terrain looks like on the moon, and you`ll get a pleasant glimpse

of the Orientale Basin which stretches about 580 miles

wide.

Our next point of interest is the Moon`s South Pole, which is believed to be significantly

colder than the Earth`s South Pole. In the years since

this mission was launched, it sent back some highly detailed views and led to what scientists

call some groundbreaking discoveries.

For instance, they believe the coldest spot in our solar system isn`t on the planetoid

formally known as the planet Pluto, but instead on the moon,

where temperatures can plunge to negative 415 degrees Fahrenheit. So, if humans set

off on the moon again, they won`t be able to grill out.

OK, back on earth. A CNN hero is helping others like her do something that their doctors never

thought would be possible. She`s helping them walk

again.

Amanda Boxtel says a bionic exoskeleton suit can cost $90,000. But the non-profit she started

has brought more than 60 people in her community the

ability to walk without the cost of the suit.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

AMANDA BOXTEL, CNN HERO: When I dream, I fly, and I have freedom I can`t get enough. And

if I wake from those flying magical places, there`s always

just this harsh reality of oh, you`re paralyzed.

Twenty-six years ago, I went out skiing and I remember I somersaulted and landed on my

back. And I knew in that instant that I was paralyzed. I was

so young, I felt like the mountain had robbed me the use of my legs. But I was determined

to show that I wasn`t going to give up so easily.

I had imagined myself being encased in an outer shell and walking upright, and then

I received a phone call that changed my life. I was invited to

test a prototype exoskeleton. I stood up and I walked for the first time in 18 years and

it was as if all of my dreams were burgeoning to life in

one upright powerful moment.

Right now, I have no pain, the exoskeleton takes away my pain.

This type of technology, it`s not easily accessible, it`s not affordable and I thought, we could

get a whole community up and walking with this

unit. Why not?

Bridging Bionics literally bridges mobility with bionic technology. We are truly giving

the gift of mobility for free or next to nothing, to help our

community get upright and walking gain.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Push back.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.

BOXTEL: We have physical therapists that work one on one with our clients to customize program

geared to each neurological condition.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You don`t know how bad my legs needed this.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Before workout with Bridging Bionics, making a step by myself wasn`t a

possibility. But then after my muscle started working

together, in ways that they weren`t before, to the point where I set my goal to across

the stage for my graduation.

It helped to gain stuff back and be able to say this is my moment.

I race you to that door.

BOXTEL: This is the power of technology that everybody should have access to.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That`s all you right there.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Good job.

BOXTEL: Life is not over when someone sustained a traumatic injury. Life goes on. It`s just

a little different. And that`s OK.

AZUZ: For 10 out of 10, some of the older turtles may have a look at this and think

this kid is a punk, but why judge the merry river turtle just

because he has green hair and spikes on his chin. He likes water and algae just like the

rest of them. In fact, it`s algae that builds up on the

heads of these reptiles to give them that mohawk.

Unfortunately, they`re endangered. Biologists say an exotic pet craze in the 1960s and `70s

greatly reduced their numbers. You can`t hear the

turtles remoaning (ph) about it, but the clash between them and people had a rants (ph) and

effect, creating more than a minor threat to them, but

they`re getting paramour attention now, thanks to the social distortion caused by their endangered

classification, giving their dissidents a better

change.

Pres Trump UNLOADS Multiple Sunday-Strikes That Has Comey & Co. Quivering Back To The

Woods

On Sunday morning, President Trump unloaded pre-emptive strikes against James Comey and

others.

The tweet strikes come just ahead of Comey's new "tell-all" book which is set to be

released on Tuesday.

Read Pres Trump's tweets on the Comey book!

POTUS begins with, "Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary

was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe.

In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going

to win, and he wanted a job.

Slimeball!"

Then DJT continues.

And this may be the most significant tweet.

As it deals with the legalities of Comey's actions.

He says, "The big questions in Comey's badly reviewed book aren't answered like,

how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail),

why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn't they TAKE it), why the phony

memos, McCabe's $700,000 & more?"

Accordingly, POTUS hits to the core of where the corruption came from during the Clinton

campaign as she ran for President.

President Trump wisely states, "Comey throws AG Lynch "under the bus!"

Why can't we all find out what happened on the tarmac in the back of the plane with

Wild Bill and Lynch?

Was she promised a Supreme Court seat, or AG, in order to lay off Hillary.

No golf and grandkids talk (give us all a break)!"

Again, President Trump lays down the truth in a tweet (in writing) he says, point-blank,

"I never asked Comey for Personal Loyalty.

I hardly even knew this guy.

Just another of his many lies.

His "memos" are self-serving and FAKE!"

Shortly, in another tweet, POTUS stated what all of this means for you and for me.

Actually, for any American.

He says, "Attorney Client privilege is now a thing of the past.

I have many (too many!) lawyers and they are probably wondering when their offices, and

even homes, are going to be raided with everything, including their phones and computers, taken.

All lawyers are deflated and concerned!"

And Rand Paul agrees with the President on that note.

Specifically, it is a breach of the 4th Amendment.

About an hour and a half later, POTUS sends the last tweet, he says, "Slippery James

Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!), will go down

as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!"

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Doesn't Deny Trump Wants To Lock Up Comey - Duration: 2:01.

These are big things that the

president's been focused on.

We have had some success so far.

We're going to continue to build

on that.

>> As you were answering that

question, the president's fifth

tweet came out on James Comey

this morning.

I'm sure your phone buzzed.

As you were talking as well.

Want to dig into this just a

little bit.

That tweet that Jon Karl cited.

Right there where he says, Comey

gave up classified information,

jail, why did he lie to

congress, jail.

What exactly is the president

referring to there?

Has he asked the justice

department to investigate James

Comey?

>> It's been very clear that

James Comey is a self-admitted

leaker.

He lied to congress.

He's been inconsistent.

>> What did he lie to congress

about?

>> He said he opened the Hillary

Clinton investigation on its

merits.

Now we're finding out it had

something to do with the

political landscape.

I find it outrageously

unbelievable that Jim Comey, the

man who takes copious notes and

recollects every detail of every

conversation that he had can't

remember why he would have

specifically opened an

investigation into a

presidential candidate.

Particularly somebody he thought

would become the president.

>> He does remember.

He goes into great detail.

>> The clip you played a few

mints ago said I can't be sure.

I'm sure that was part of it.

I think I thought about it.

Give me a break.

The guy knew exactly what he was

doing.

He thought Hillary Clinton would

win.

He thought this could give him

cover.

He made the decisions based on

the political landscape, and not

on the facts of the case.

When the person who is supposed

to lead the highest law

enforcement agency in our

country starts making decisions

based on political environments

instead of on what is right and

wrong, it's a dangerous

position.

And I think that's one of the

reasons there is such a huge

bipartisan consensus that James

Comey doesn't have credibility

and shouldn't be leading the FBI

any longer.

>> Well, that's not exactly what

he said.

But is the president asking the

justice department to

investigate James Comey?

>> I'm not aware of a specific

ask of the justice department.

Shock & Awe! President Trump Lays Waste To 'Slimeball' James Comey - Duration: 4:23.

Shock & Awe!

President Trump Lays Waste To 'Slimeball' James Comey

President Donald Trump has launched a preemptive strike against former FBI Director James Comey

ahead of his ABC interview scheduled for Sunday night.

Trump tore into "slimeball" Comey, and he didn't hold anything back.

"Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a

factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe.

In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going

to win, and he wanted a job.

Slimeball!"

President Trump wrote in his first tweet.

He was referencing a clip of Sunday's interview where Comey admitted that he thought Clinton

was going to win and that it affected how he handled the investigation into her private

email server.

"The big questions in Comey's badly reviewed book aren't answered like, how come he gave

up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC

refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn't they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe's

$700,000 & more?" he wrote.

"Comey throws AG Lynch "under the bus!"

Why can't we all find out what happened on the tarmac in the back of the plane with

Wild Bill and Lynch?

Was she promised a Supreme Court seat, or AG, in order to lay off Hillary.

No golf and grandkids talk (give us all a break)!" he said, a reference to Comey saying

that he became the front man for the investigation into Clinton because, if some secret information

about former Attorney General Loretta Lynch was known, she would have been compromised.

But Comey did not say what the information was because it is classified.

Had it become public, the unverified material would undoubtedly have been used by political

opponents to cast serious doubt on the attorney general's independence in connection with

the Clinton investigation," James Comey wrote, ABC News reported.

He added that it is a "development still unknown to the American public to this day."

President Trump then took aim at Comey's claim that Trump asked for his loyalty in

a private meeting the two had.

The assertion by Comey was written in a personal memo he took, and there is no evidence that

the president ever asked for a loyalty oath other than Comey's word, which has been

severely damaged.

"I never asked Comey for Personal Loyalty.

I hardly even knew this guy.

Just another of his many lies.

His 'memos' are self serving and FAKE!"

President Trump wrote before taking a shot at the Robert Mueller investigation and the

raid on the office of Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen.

"Attorney Client privilege is now a thing of the past.

I have many (too many!) lawyers and they are probably wondering when their offices, and

even homes, are going to be raided with everything, including their phones and computers, taken.

All lawyers are deflated and concerned!" Trump said.

But then he brought his attention back to Comey.

Slippery James Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!),

will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!" Trump said.

Mainstream media will undoubtedly say that President Donald Trump engaged in an unhinged

rant against James Comey, but there is a method to the madness.

The president knows that the media will ignore how horrid of an FBI director Comey not only

was but has admitted to being.

James Comey will begin his media tour tonight on ABC.

More interviews will follow this week with Jake Tapper on CNN and PBS's Judy Woodruff.

He will also attempt to make himself a media darling on entertainment shows like CBS's

"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" and ABC's "The

View."

He will also appear at a CNN town hall hosted by Anderson Cooper.

The shows that he has picked to appear on prove exactly what Comey is.

He is a disgruntled former employee who wants to get revenge on his former boss and is using

his boss' enemies in the liberal media to do it.

FBI's Raid of Trump Lawyer's Office Has Backfired Spectacularly on Mueller - Duration: 3:39.

FBI's Raid of Trump Lawyer's Office Has Backfired Spectacularly on Mueller

For Democrats, these numbers are going in the wrong direction.

In the wake of the FBI's raid of the home and office of Michael Cohen on Monday, President

Donald Trump's personal attorney, a poll released by Rasmussen finds American voters

are growing increasingly suspicious of the motivations behind the "Russia collusion"

investigation.

And Trump's consistent characterization of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe

as a "witch hunt" might be starting to sink in.

A poll of 1,000 likely voters found less than half of those surveyed think Mueller's investigation

is an "honest attempt to determine wrongdoing" according to Rasmussen.

Meanwhile, significantly more of those polled consider it a "partisan witch hunt" than

the percentage who thought so during a similar survey in October.

Neither number bodes well for the ongoing Democrat-media campaign to discredit the Trump

White House.

"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 46% of Likely

U.S. Voters still believe Mueller's investigation is an honest attempt to determine criminal

wrongdoing, but that's down from 52% last October," Rasmussen reported.

"Forty percent (40%) now consider Mueller's probe a partisan witch hunt, an eight-point

increase from 32% in the earlier survey.

Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided."

In other words, the hoopla surrounding Monday's raid in New York – executed by the U.S.

Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York but instigated by Mueller's

investigation — is backfiring badly.

Despite an incessant drumbeat of negative news and opinions about Trump, the percentage

of Americans who believe the Mueller probe is the pursuit of justice has dropped considerably

in the past six months.

By contrast, the percentage of those who think it's politically motivated has increased

by an even greater percentage.

In what could be even more galling for left, Trump's performance in Rasmussen's Daily

Presidential Tracking Poll, the only poll measuring Trump's approval rating on a daily

basis, showed him at 50 percent approval on Friday, a number he's rarely reached in

his presidency.

While having the approval of half the country might not sound like a huge accomplishment

for the president, Trump supporters understand exactly what kind of opposition Trump is facing

to get that.

As The Daily Wire pointed out:

"… (A)fter record lows in the polls for most of his first year in office, Trump saw

significant improvement by December and for the entirety of 2018 has been polling around

where President Obama polled at the same time during his presidency."

Most readers will remember that Obama, at the same point of his presidency, had been

treated for more than a year by a virtual deity by the bootlicking mainstream media

and his gushing fans in Hollywood.

For a president to have the kind of personality cult Obama was surrounded by and still poll

only 50 percent approval is a testament to the good sense of the American electorate.

Voters who were disgusted by the passage of Obamacare and its signature in March 2010

saw right through the endless glorification of the media.

Likewise, Americans who've watched as Trump has been attacked on a daily, even hourly,

basis by alleged "news" outlets like CNN and the sneering celebrity elite of late-night

"comedy" know full well what kind of resistance Trump has faced (it even calls itself "the

Resistance" for crying out loud).

Well-publicized dramatics like the Mueller-instigated raid on the home and office of the president's

private lawyers might be intended to turn Americans against Trump, but the Rasmussen

poll shows the tactic is backfiring — badly.

VINDICATION! Trump Just Earned a BIG VICTORY From United Nations

President Trump tasted the sweet tang of vindication after a Russian drafted resolution to condemn

the United States over recent attacks on Syria flopped and failed to pass.

The vote came on Saturday when only 2 countries voted in favor of the resolution. From Conservative

Tribune

A Russian draft resolution to condemn the United States and its allies over the Syria

airstrike on Saturday failed in the United Nations Security Council after just two countries

voted in favor of it.

The resolution, which would have condemned America along with France and the United Kingdom

for striking alleged chemical weapons facilities one week after the Assad regime allegedly

perpetrated a chemical attack against its own citizens, failed in spectacular fashion

when only China and Bolivia expressed support for it, Reuters reported.Meeting hours after

105 missiles were fired at the facilities from naval vessels and airplanes, the 15-member

Security Council dealt a resounding defeat to Russia's diplomatic efforts to condemn

the United States and its allies for the attack.

"Why didn't you wait for the outcome of the investigation you called for?"

Vassily Nebenzia, Russia's ambassador to the U.N., told the Security Council after

the vote.

He also said that the United States, along with France and the United Kingdom, were "demonstrating

a blatant disregard for international law."

"I hope hot heads will cool down and that will be it," Nebenzia told reporters, apparently

temporarily forgetting the fact that the only threat of conflict came if his nation decided

to retaliate.Nebenzia also accused the United States and its allies of "illegal military

adventure" and "hooliganism in international relations," according to Fox News.

"You are constantly tempted by neo-colonialism," he said.

"You have nothing but disdain for the U.N. Charter and the Security Council which you

are unjustifiably trying to use for your illicit aims."

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, meanwhile, warned both the Syrians

and the Russians that further chemical attacks by the Assad regime would meet with a similar

response. We are confident that we have crippled Syria's chemical weapons program.

We are prepared to sustain this pressure, if the Syrian regime is foolish enough to

test our will," Haley said.

"If the Syrian regime uses this poison gas again, the United States is locked and loaded,"

she continued.
