WhatsApp images, along with most social media apps does not include any EXIF data. It is stripped at source. The information you are asking for is not available.

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

 

Google Photos never uploads the same picture multiple times.

What we see as duplicates have some differences in file format or metadata.

Additionally, if you have activated Raw + JPEG capture or bracketing in your phone app, that would create duplicates.

 

Regrettably, Google Photos doesn't provide any means to remove the apparent duplicates. You have to search those manually.

 

However, you will find some tips in the following article compiled by experts with comprehensive experience on how to avoid duplicate photos & how to remove those.

Many items from my Google Photos are not showing up or syncing via the Google Photos folder in my Google Drive.

Seems random to me. 

- No browser / cache / add-ons related

- "Create a Google Photos folder" on Google drive is enable.

- "Sync photos & videos from Google Drive" on Google Photos also enable.

I want to make a backup of ALL my photos and videos on Google update.

Google takeout is NOT an option as it is possible to backup only albums and not the entire Google Photos.

If that doesn't help, I recommend checking the below options to find them:

• get.google.com/albumarchive
  
• other online photo or file storage services you use (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud).

The delete options on Android are as follows

1. Free up space checks that a photo is backed up then deletes it from the local storage
2. Delete in the Google Photos app using the trash
   • Deletes both the device copy and the backed up web copy
   • If internet access is available the photo is put in the web trash and is permanently deleted after 60 days
   • If Internet access is not available the photo is put in the app trash and is permanently deleted after 30 days or when the app data is deleted
3. Delete in the app using the 3 dot option to Delete from the device, either singly or by selecting a batch
   • The photos remain backed up and can be seen both in the app and on the web
4. Delete using a Gallery app (Gallery Go etc)
   • The photos remain backed up and can be seen both in the app and on the web

Storage will only decrease if Original size photos, Storage Saver photos, or unsupported videos are deleted.

 

It may be possible to Recover storage at https://photos.google.com/settings  which compresses and replaces Original size with Storage Saver size. 

 

Head over to https://photos.google.com/quotamanagement  This should give a clue on where the storage is being used. Large photos and videos >5MB are listed and can be reviewed by tapping on the thumbnail to open then select the (i)nfo icon to see more detail about the files.

 

If you delete 1000s of High Quality photos uploaded prior to June 2021 then no storage will be recovered because they do not use any storage.

 

All photos added after June 1st 2021 can be found at https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ and all use storage unless added as part of Partner sharing.

Hi,

Thanks for posting in the Google Photos community.

Based on your post, it sounds like the videos/photos were in the camera folder but do you know if the phone actually sync'd to Google Photos before it crashed?  If it didn't (and likely not if you were on cellular service only as this isn't on by default), they are likely gone.  If you were on WiFi (or have cellular sync enabled) then you can look in the Trash folder on Photos and the Trash folder on Google Drive to see if they are there by chance.

Hi google photo team. Can you help me to recover back my permanently deleted videos and photos on google photo? i already deleted all my pictures and videos on last friday on 20 september 2019. Please it really crucial to me.

If you want to get a deleted item back, check your trash to see if you can get it back. If your photo or video has already been backed up and you deleted it, it will remain in your Trash for 60 days.

1. On your computer, go to the trash.
2. Place your cursor over the photo or video you want to restore, then click Done .
3. At the top right, click Restore . That photo or video will be restored to your Google Photos library and added back into any albums it was in.

Don't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:

• You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
• You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
• You permanently deleted it from your trash.
• You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.

There have been some reports of Google Drive being able to restore user’s deleted photos. Below are steps that another user posted here Steps:

1. Go to Google Drive help and click on contact us.
2. Select any option, but selecting Missing or deleted files is recommended. Then select Request chat option.
3. IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't tell them that you are trying to restore Google Photos.

REASON:   Our storage is shared across Google Drive, Gmail, Google Photos. Google Drive help is there to assist you only on Drive related queries. So, if you tell them that you are about to restore permanently deleted Google Photos, they will end the chat with giving you this product forums link which is not at all useful. But the hack here is that Google Photos can also be accessed from Google Drive (From the left-hand sidebar) and in a way, Google Photos too come under the files of Google Drive. Just tell them that you've accidentally permanently deleted some files in Google Drive and you need those files back

 

I'm not sure if this still works since Google Photos and Drive syncing was disconnected, but the Photos team does not have access to deleted files.
