Once your photos have been permanently deleted then you won't be able to get them back from Google Photos, first you'll need to check to see if they're still in your bin. You can find out how to do this by following the instructions at this link here.

 

There are apps that you can use on Android that may be able to restore deleted files, if you click this link here it'll take you a Play Store search for restoring deleted photos, you'll be able can find the highest rated apps to see if they help.

• Close the Google Photos app and re-launch it.
• Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos with the same Google Account.

• Select Google Photos in the list.

I also have the same issue. Quite bizzare. Checked my Google Photos and noticed everything from January 2021 to January 2022 is gone. They were all being backed up during the year as I accessed them many times. Suddenly all disappeared.

Now to my understanding I thought they were safe since they're on the google cloud and I backed them so even after Samsung deleted their cloud it would remain on Google photos since they're supposedly separate "things" right? You got the notification from Google Photos because it detected images in a folder on your phone, unfortunately I don't have any info on what put those images there or what the purpose of them is. I tried to update my storage multiple times and each time I'm given a message saying "transaction declined" despite having money in my account or using different cards. On one occasion I was charged the price of the extra storage but did not recieve the product. The plan to buy more storage eventually became futile.

I then decided to delete photos and videos from my google photos account but each photo I deleted was deleted from my phone also. I turned off the backup and sync and still photos are deleted from my phone.
