Hi,

I used to have a old phone where  one of my friends used that cell phone and login with his gmail but after a few days he logged out from that account.

Then I purchased a new phone redmi note 10 and login with my gmail id and with my personal whatsapp number and only my photos were showing.

But yesterday, I downloaded the whatsapp business and login with my official number and restore the media. After the media restoration all the pictures of my friend showing in my gallery. It's like all of them. 

I am not able to understand how is that possible, since in my new phone he did not login with his mail and he never used that whatsapp number as well.

Please help us with this.

After opening gallery, even though I disabled backup, the photos got segregated as "selfies, food, nature, documents, ect." , I am aware that phone itself don't have capabilities of recognising advanced features from photos and categorising them, which means, somehow these photos must have been sent over to Google's servers for neural networks to analyse them in order to recognise features and assign them to groups.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but otherwise, isn't it a breach ? Thanks.

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

It looks like you're trying to restore some photos from Google Photos. If yes, could you please confirm if you can find out the photos through the web version of Google Photos? 

Also, check if the photos are present in the Trash of Google Photos and restore them through the below steps:

• On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
  
• At the top left, tap Menu.
  
• Click on Trash.
  
• Touch and hold the photo or video you want to recover.
  
• At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
• In your phone.
• Into the "Photos" section of the app.
• Into any albums it was in.

But if you've already deleted the photos from the Trash from your Google Photos, there is no other way to restorethem. 

That being said, if you would like to see this feature implemented in the future, I recommend leaving feedback about it through the following steps:

• Open Google Photos.
  
• Click on Menu.
• Select Send feedback.
  
• Click on Send.

The product team reviews the feedback regularly and uses it to better improve the product overtime.
