I deleted photos off my Google Photos app, thinking it was only deleting them from my drive but it also deleted all of them from my phone. They are not in the trash. Is there any way to recover them? I already spoke to someone at Google Drive. The app is very misleading. I never told it to back up my photos and had no idea it had control over my iPhone gallery. Lost a lot of important photos.

Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Photos Help Community.

I certainly understand the importance of your photos. Please know that, photos and videos you take with your device's camera and photos saved on your phone are saved to your Google Photos library when you turn on backup and sync. Any changes you make will be mirrored on every synced device. For example, if you edit and save a photo on your phone, it will look the same on photos.google.com.

To turn off backup and sync, please follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Photos app .
2. Sign in to your Google Account.
3. At the top, tap Menu .
4. Select Settings   Back up & sync.
5. Tap "Back up & sync" on.

If you're unable to see the photos in Trash and want to see the photo or video back in the iPhone or iPad Photos app, go to your iPhone or iPad's Photos app's Recently Deleted album to restore it.

Also, if something isn't in your trash, it can't be restored. You won't be able to restore a photo if:

• You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
• You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
• You permanently deleted it from your trash.
• You permanently deleted it from your device's Gallery app, without being backed up.

When viewing my photos, and there are a lot of them, on my PC, I find that it is difficult to scroll "slowly"...using my mouse in particular, the display jumps very quickly and I often pass up the photos I am attempting to view..

Even when using the cursor buttons, I find that the view scrolls very quickly.  How can I slow it down to browse through my pictures.

Hi Douglas,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Photos Help Community.

It looks like your photos and videos might still be loading on your Google Photos library on the web version. There isn't any such option to slow down the scrolling speed. However, you may try the following steps:

1. On your computer, open photos.google.com/search
2. Search for the photo using the right dates or keywords. At the top, type what you want to find, like "dogs", "New York City", or someone's name (if you've labeled your photos).
3. If your search came up empty, try other keywords or search again in 3—5 days. It can take time for photos to be searchable.

Also, please feel free to share your feedback following these simple steps:

1. Go to photos.google.com.
2. At the top left, open the Menu , then select Send feedback.

Wrong texted message causing much panic here hélas. 

Only the content you may have on https://plus.google.com/ will be deleted after April 1, not your Gmail and Google Photos and whatever you may use. 

Do read the additional info carefully if you want to download important pictures you don't have on your computer anymore and not on Google Photos either.
