Trump news on Youtube Nov 7 2017

The differences between President Trump and former President Obama are becoming more apparent.

According to The Daily Caller, when Obama visited with Japanese Emperor Akihito, he

bowed.

Yet when President Trump visited the emperor, he delivered a firm handshake.

According to Reuters, President Trump visited Japan for a number of issues.

He discussed defense options with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe regarding the two

missiles that were fired over the country's territory by North Korea.

Apparently, a deal was struck for Japan to purchase the means to shoot down the missiles

from the US.

According to Trump, "He (Abe) will shoot them out of the sky when he completes the

purchase of lots of additional military equipment from the United States.

The prime minister is going to be purchasing massive amounts of military equipment, as

he should.

And we make the best military equipment by far."

Currently, Japan's policy is to only shoot missiles that appear to be falling on Japanese

territory or is determined to be an "existential threat."

It's unclear if this policy will change in light of North Korean aggression.

President Trump was also in Japan to discuss economics.

In a public statement, President Trump said, "America is also committed to improving

our economic relationship with Japan.

As president, I'm committed to achieving fair, free, and reciprocal trading relationship.

We seek equal and reliable access for American exports to Japan's markets in order to eliminate

our chronic trade imbalances and deficits with Japan."

During his visit, he also met with the emperor in a meeting that has garnered a lot more

attention than it should for the etiquette shown and it's symbolic importance.

According to the Business Insider, bowing is customary in Japan as a sign of respect.

This is complicated by the fact that many in the US see bowing as a sign of weakness

and a handshake is preferred because it's seen as a sign of respect between equals.

Yet a handshake is complicated in this situation because Japanese royalty are customarily not

to be touched by guests.

Appeasing both US and Japanese customs in a greeting is essentially a paradox that US

presidents have long struggled with and been criticized for.

When former President Bill Clinton met with the emperor, he bowed with his hands together.

This was met with criticism from a White House official who stated: "Presidents don't

bow and Emperors don't toast."

Former President Obama decided to do a handshake while bowing, which was criticized for mixing

the customs and rejected by conservatives for showing weakness to a foreign dignitary.

It may not have been so bad had the emperor bowed back as an equal sign of respect, but

that was not the case.

President Trump's handshake will no doubt be seen as disrespectful by those on the Left

given he failed to customarily bow while the Right will see it as mutually respectful and

a greeting of equals.

Ultimately, the handshake was perhaps most appropriate.

Given that international dealings and the mixings of cultures and customs is becoming

more of a problem, the handshake is seen as the emerging customary greeting.

In the end, the emperor himself didn't seem bothered by the handshake and both he and

President Trump moved on to more important issues — which is ultimately what etiquette

critics should do.

North Korea is 'THREAT to civilised world' fumes Donald Trump

The US President was speaking after talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as part of his 12-day tour of Asia.

And a sabre-rattling Mr Trump said Japan could shoot North Korean missiles out of the sky if Tokyo bought the US weaponry needed for doing so and took a stance it has avoided until now.

North Korea is pursuing a nuclear weapons and missile programme in defiance of UN Security Council sanctions and has made no secret of its plans to develop a missile capable of hitting the US mainland.  Pyongyang has already sparked outrage in the region by firing two missiles over Japan and has sparked fears of World War Three breaking out as dictator Kim Jong-un and Mr Trump trade threats.

Mr Trump repeated his mantra the era of strategic patience with North Korea is over" and warned Washington and Tokyo are working to counter the dangerous aggressions.

On his first official visit to Asia as president, Mr Trump also pressed Japan to lower its trade deficit with the US and buy more of its military hardware.

He said: "He will shoot them out of the sky when he completes the purchase of lots of additional military equipment from the US. "The prime minister is going to be purchasing massive amounts of military equipment, as he should.

And we make the best military equipment by far."  . Mr Trump described Pyongyangs nuclear tests and recent launches of ballistic missiles over Japan a threat to the civilized world and to international peace and stability.

Japan has taken a traditionally pacifist stance since the Second World War but has considered new measures in the wake of the North Korea threat.

Mr Trump said: Most importantly, were working to counter the dangerous aggressions of the regime in North Korea. "Some people said that my rhetoric is very strong.

But look whats happened with very weak rhetoric over the last 25 years. Look where we are right now." North Koreas recent actions have raised the stakes in the most critical international challenge of Mr Trumps presidency.

The president, who will visit South Korea and China on the trip and may eet Russian leader Vladimir Putin, has rattled some allies with his vow to totally destroy North Korea if it threatens the US and with his dismissal of Kim Jong-Un as a rocket man on a suicide mission.

Mr Abe said Japan backed Mr Trumps stance that all options are on the table, saying it was time to exert maximum pressure on North Korea and the two countries were 100 per cent together on the issue.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying, said the North Korean situation was already extremely complex, sensitive and weak.

She said: "We hope that under the present circumstances, all sides words and actions can help reduce tensions and reestablish mutual trust and getting the North Korean nuclear issue back on the correct track of dialogue and negotiations.".

Trump in Korea LIVE: US President demands China and Russia make a CHOICE - it's me or Kim!

President flew into South Korea, the closest he has come to the frontlines of the nuclear standoff with Kim Jong-un's secretive state, on Tuesday saying a solution must be found to the security threat posed by Pyongyang.

Raising fears of the outbreak of all-out World War 3 he said North Korea was "a threat to people of South Korea and people all across the world" and he was prepared to do whatever was necessary to prevent the North Korean dictator from threatening lives.

so needlessly.  He said: "We will together confront North Korea.  "We will be prepared to use the full range of our military capabilities if needs be." Landing at Osan Air Base outside Seoul, the president and First Lady Melania Trump stepped down from Air Force One onto a red carpet as he began a 24-hour visit that could aggravate tensions with.

In recent months, President Trump has criticised South Korea President Moon Jae-in over his support for diplomatic engagement with Pyongyang - something the US President once called appeasement - and has threatened to pull out of a free trade pact between the two countries.

The American leader said the talks would also address trade issues, including South Koreas acquisition of US defence equipment.

He then flew by helicopter to Camp Humphreys, the largest US military base in the country, and met US and South Korean troops, along with President Jae-in.

President Jae-in said he hoped his visit would be a turning point in efforts to defuse tensions over Kims nuclear programme.  The state visit in the South Korean capital was billed as an opportunity for President Trump and Jae-in to present a united front, despite differences over how to confront the depraved regimes nuclear threat, as well as the US leaders complaints over the two countries trade agreements.

Besides vowing to prevent the crackpot dictator from developing nuclear weapons and missiles that can effectively strike the mainland United States, President Trump has also threatened to pull out of a free trade pact between the two countries.

The White House says President Trumps trip is intended to demonstrate US resolve over his hardline approach to the North Korean nuclear and missile threats, but many in the region fear further bellicose presidential rhetoric could increase the potential for a devastating military conflict on the Korean peninsula.

Meeting with military commanders about the North Korea issue, he told reporters: Hopefully that will start working out, and working out so that we create a lot of jobs in the United States which is one of the reasons that Im here.

Ultimately it will all work out, it always works out, it has to work out. He did not elaborate.

President Trump praised president Moon, hailing him for great cooperation, despite their differences.  Pyongyangs recent nuclear and missile tests in defiance of UN resolutions and an exchange of insults between President Trump and Kimhave raised the stakes in the most critical international challenge of the leaders presidency.

The US President was greeted with applause and a few cheers as he and president Moon entered the mess hall at lunch hour.

He is seeking to ratchet up pressure on Pyongyang following his visit to Tokyo, where he declared that Japan would shoot North Korean missiles out of the sky if it bought the U.S.

weaponry needed to do so, suggesting the Japanese government take a stance it has avoided until now. North Korea has not conducted a missile test for 53 days, the longest such lull in testing this year.

And North Korean state media has not commented on President Trumps arrival in the South.

South Koreas spy agency said last week that North Korea may be preparing another missile test, raising speculation that such a launch could be timed for President Trumps trip to the region.

The US president was speaking in a press conference in Tokyo today, focused on cooperation between the allies in the face of growing concerns on North Korea. But Mr Trump broke from cordial rhetoric when comparing the two nations financially.

He said: "The Japanese people are thriving, your cities are vibrant and youve built one of the worlds most powerful economies. I dont know if its as good as ours, I think not.

And were going to try and keep it that way but youll be second.  .

Mr Trump continued by saying he wanted to correct a trade imbalance with Japan - actually the worlds third biggest economy - and urged the nation to buy more American military equipment.

He said: "America is also committed to improving our economic relationship with Japan. As president, Im committed to achieving fair, free, and reciprocal trading relationship.

We seek equal and reliable access for American exports to Japans markets in order to eliminate our chronic trade imbalances and deficits with Japan.    .

'China and Russia MUST ACT' Trump demands Putin and Xi back him over North Korea

Speaking alongside South Korea president Moon Jae-in during the second leg of his 12-day Asia tour, called on the international community to support his hardline stance against Pyongyang following a series of missile tests this year, as well as the country's biggest ever nuclear blast.

The US President told reporters in Seoul: We are calling on all responsible nations, including Russia and China, to demand an end to the nuclear threat for peace. It is time to act with urgency and great determination.

North Korea is a worldwide threat that requires worldwide action." In visits to both South Korea and Japan, President Trump has declared both countries have agreed to purchase military equipment from the US in order the fend off the North Korean threat.

Pyongyang has fired two missiles over Japan this year but, speaking alongside Japanese leader Shinzo Abe, Trump declared Tokyo could now shoot North Korean missiles "out of the sky".

The US President is set to travel to Beijing tomorrow for talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, with the North Korea crisis and high-profile trade talks set to be top of the agenda.

Mr Trump's demands for China and Russia to work with the US come despite the Kremlin admitting .

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed increasingly hostile ties between the two superpowers mean they are yet to agree on a solution to the ongoing North Korea crisis. He said: "There is no cooperation so far.

Only periodic exchanges of views." However, the Kremlin has confirmed that Vladimir Putin will discuss the North Korea issue with Resident Trump when the pair meet in Vietnam in the coming days.

While the Trump administration refuses to take the option of military intervention in North Korea off the table, Russia and China are adamant that diplomacy is the only way to relieve the tensions on the Korean peninsula.

Despite this assertion, Russian bombers have joined the US in conducting drills over the region in recent days.

The Russian Defence Ministry announced US and Japanese jets had escorted two of its missile-carrying Tupolev-95MS strategic bombers as they conducted flights over the Sea of Japan and the Pacific.

In a statement, Moscow's defence ministry said: Two strategic bombers Tupolev-95MS of Russia's Aerospace Force have carried out routine flights over international waters of the Sea of Japan and the western part of the Pacific Ocean.  "At certain sections of the route the Tupolev-95MS crews were accompanied by a pair of F-18 fighters (of the US Air Force), and a pair of F-15, F-4 and F-2A fighters (of the Japanese Air Force).".

His comments come as the and amid fears Kim Jong-un will order the in a show of force during Trump's visit to the South.  Sending a tweet from Tokyo, the first leg of his five-nation Asia tour, Trump said: Getting ready to leave for South Korea and meetings with President Moon, a fine gentleman.

We will figure it all out! The firebrand Republican will meet with US and South Korean service members at Camp Humphreys, a US base south of Seoul during his two-day visit to the nation and hold a summit with President Moon, where it is expected the pair will introduce a more detailed action plan to increase pressure on North Korea.

President Trump also will make a historic speech before South Korea's National Assembly.

President Trump also will make a historic speech before South Korea's National Assembly. They will also discuss how to maintain the 28,500 US troops stationed in South Korea, which is said to be a costly measure despite tensions with the North.

Speaking ahead of the US President's visit, Van Jackson, a strategy fellow at the Centre for Strategic Studies at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand said more "heated rhetoric" against North Korea is expected.

He said: "Trumps visit is a huge variable. Its a great opportunity to show a unity of purpose against North Korea and reinforce the larger US commitment to Asia, but theres also a risk of provoking North Korea.

"We should brace for more heated rhetoric and some attempt to reassure South Korea. For most Presidents, those tasks would not be mutually exclusive.

The problem is Trumps the wild card, not the reassurance guy. While in Japan, the US President described North Korea's nuclear weapons programme as a "threat to the civilised world as he repeated an earlier statement vowing that the "era of strategic patience is over".

During Trump's visit, dozens of US and South Korea marines are said to be taking part in j on the islands of Baengnyeong and Yeonpyeong. .

The drills, according to Seoul-based news agency Yonhap News, will include a mock attack by North Korea - a doomsday scenario which the US and South Korea are determined to be ready for.

The news agency said: "They have simulated a North Korean attack on the islands for the drill held in cooperation with fighter jets and ground forces.

"Its focused on enhancing combined air power in the Korean Marine Exchange Program, joined by more than 50 South Korean marines and around 30 US marines belonging to the 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force, stationed in Okinawa.".

South Koreas Marine Corps Commandant Lt. Gen. Jun Jin-goo added: "The South Korean and US Marine Corps are a classic model of the two countries alliance.

The strong combined power and camaraderie of the two sides are a reliable force to defend the Republic of Korea from the enemy. Three US aircraft carrier strike groups will also take part in separate exercises in the Western Pacific in another show of force.

"The military exercise helped improve fighting skills and deepened cooperation with India" Japan's Maritime Self Defence Force The Donald will sit down with South Korean President Moon Jae-in as the tyrant to the North watches on.

Experts have warned that Kim could fire a nuke in a blatant taunt designed to goad Trump into acting rashly. But the President has remained calm so far and played down any threats made by the North Korean brute.

He said: "There is great cooperation. We have a terrific meeting scheduled on trade in little while with President Moon and his representatives.

"And hopefully that will start working out and working out so that we can create a lot of jobs in the United States, which is one of the reasons that I'm here." President Moon met Trump before he visited the huge Camp Humphreys military base in Pyeongtaek – some 60 miles from the border with the secretive North.

The US supremo is expected to discuss how best to contain the menacing Kim regime during his visit to South Korea.

Kim has cast the spectre of nuclear war over the Korean Peninsula following a series of reckless nuke and missile tests this year.

But the Donald has piled the pressure on Pyongyang after ordering several military drills with Kim's most hated enemies.

The latest exercise involved the US Navy carrier the USS Ronald Reagan, a Japanese destroyer and two Indian warships in the Sea of Japan.

Japan's Maritime Self Defence Force said in a statement: "The exercise helped improve fighting skills and deepened cooperation with India." Donald Trump will jet off to China, Vietnam and the Philippines following his stop in South Korea.

"We will never yield, never waver and never falter in defence of our freedom" Donald Trump The US president kicked off his 12-day Asian tour to present a united front with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe amid tensions with the hermit kingdom over its nuclear and missile tests.

Trump has rattled some allies with his vow to "totally destroy" North Korea if he threatens the US and his dismissal of tyrant Kim as a "rocket man" on a suicide mission.

Today the Donald told hundreds of US and Japanese troops "No dictator, no regime, no nation should ever underestimate American resolve". He added: "Every once in a while, in the past, they underestimated us. It was not pleasant for them, was it?".

Pyongyang has put the US and its allies on high alert after it fired several missiles over Japan, which prompted Trump to step up military drills in the region.

Recently the US sent two strategic bombers over South Korea, which further raised tensions with the secretive North.

Trump said: "We will never yield, never waver and never falter in defence of our freedom." On Air Force One he added that a decision would be made soon on whether to add North Korea to a list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Pyongyang is known to have developed strong ties with Iran, which the US claims exports terrorists and funds radical Islamic jihadis across the Middle East.

Trump said he wanted his government to take a different approach to dealing with issues after years of what he called "total weakness". He added: "We want to get it solved.

It's a big problem for our country and the world, and we want to get it solved.".

Trump SHOCKS WORLD after saying he would sit down with North Korean leader to halt WW3

The extraordinary comments come as Trump kicked off his five-nation Asia tour in Japan on Sunday. He said: "I don't think it's strength or weakness, I think sitting down with people is not a bad thing.

"So, I would certainly be open to doing that (sitting down with Kim) but we'll see where it goes." The US president did admit, however, that he would not open talks with Kim anytime in the near future.

"I would certainly be open to doing that" Donald Trump Trump added: "I think we're far too early." His tone differs sharply with the more hotheaded remarks he made over the weekend.

The self-proclaimed deal-maker told troops at Yokota airbase near Tokyo that Kim should not "underestimate the US". He said: "No one, no dictator, no regime, no nation should underestimate American resolve.

"Every once in a while, in the past, they underestimated us.

It was not pleasant for them, was it?" Trump's harsh comments come after Pyongyang put the US and its allies on high alert after it fired several missiles over Japan, which prompted the US president to step up military drills in the region.

Recently the US sent two strategic bombers over South Korea, which further raised tensions with the secretive North. Daily Star Online revealed the monstrous arsenal at Trump's fingertips as he faces down North Korea.

It is estimated that 80,000 soldiers are at the ready to take out Kim if needed.

Donald Trump warns US will 'decide soon' on re-listing North Korea as TERROR SPONSOR

Speaking on Air Force One has he flew to Japan to begin his 12-day tour of Asia, Mr Trump said a decision on adding the reclusive regime to the list would be made soon.

White House adviser HR McMaster had earlier revealed Washington was considering placing North Korea on the list alongside Iran, Sudan and Syria.

Mr McMaster said the killing of Kim Jong-un's half brother in a Malaysian airport earlier this year could lead to Pyongyang's placement.

Although Malaysia has never directly accused North Korea of the murder, South Koreas spy agency said the attack was part of a plot emanating from the highest levels of the rogue regime.

Mr McMaster said: "A regime who murders someone in a public airport using nerve agent, a despotic leader who murders his brother in that manner, thats clearly an act of terrorism that fits in with a range of other actions." He said: Youll hear more about that soon, I think.

It is something thats under consideration."  . Kim's half brother, Kim Jong-nam, died in February after two women rubbed his face with a liquid later identified as VX nerve agent as he passed through the airport in Kuala Lumpur.

North Korea was on Washington's terrorism blacklist for two decades after the 1987 bombing of a South Korean airliner that killed 115 people but was removed from the list by President George W Bush in 2008 as part of disarmament negotiations.

North Korea is already heavily sanctioned over its nuclear weapons programme, so designating it a state sponsor of terrorism would largely be symbolic.

Mr Trump told reporters his administration planned to take a different approach after years of what he termed total weakness" over North Korea. He said: "We want to get it solved.

Its a big problem for our country and the world, and we want to get it solved. In an apparent attempt to distinguish between the Pynongang leadership leadership and ordinary people, he said he thought North Koreans were great people. He said: "And I hope it all works out for everybody.  .

Mr Trump was speaking as his 12-day Asian tour got underway against a backdrop of heightened tensions over Pyongyangs nuclear and missile tests.

The President has rattled some allies with his vow to totally destroy North Korea if it threatens the United States and his dismissal of Kim as a rocket man on a suicide mission.

And a top aide said Mr Trump intended to tell Asian leaders the world is running out of time in dealing with the nuclear crisis on the Korean peninsula.

(ENGLISH) "President Moon, I want to thank you so much

for that beautiful ceremony.

It doesn't get more beautiful than that.

I know the work that was put into it."

The two heads-of-state also enjoyed a promenade through the Blue House garden, and spared

some time to enjoy a cup of tea before their much anticipated joint press conference.

(STAND UP) Considering that President Trump is also the

first head of state to visit South Korea since President Moon's inauguration, and the delicate

time involving the alliance between Seoul and Washington, observers say the welcoming

ceremony was significant to herald a successful summit between the two leaders.
