Got a new iPhone and I store my photos to google photos. I have to synced with my iPhone camera where I am able to see the photos taken on iPhone on google photos. Before performing a factory reset the Apple rep checked google photo and confirmed it was there. After the reset and went home to restore the phone.  Come to know that only half the photos were recovered on google photos. You should still have a copy of your photos in the Apple Photos Recently deleted album. If not then there is nothing which we can do.

 

The safest way to delete from Google Photos is to delete the Google Photos app and delete the photos at https://photos.google.com/  or in bulk at https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ where they are sorted by upload date.

The camera roll photos will not be affected.

 

If you need to reinstall the app do not enable Back up & sync. The photos will be backed up again if Backup & sync is re-enabled.

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Community.

Just to let you know that there are two main sources of location metadata in Google Photos:

1. Your camera's GPS might record location information directly on to photos and videos. (To turn this off, you'll need to consult the instructions for that camera or app.)
   
2. Google Photos might estimate a location.
   

Google Photos might estimate a location using information such as your Google Location History, which is stored in your Google Account. Based on your GPS/Google Location history there might be chances that Google Photos might have not picked the location data from the database of that location for your photos.

Hence, I'd suggest turning "ON" the Location History by following the below steps:

1. Open the Google Photos app.
2. At the top left, tap Menu .
3. Tap Settings  Google Location History.
4. At the top, turn the setting off or on.

I do understand the inconvenience as the face grouping feature of Google Photos is not working in your device. Therefore, please follow the below steps to see if that helps:

• On your computer, open photos.google.com.
• Tap Menu.
  
• Select Settings.
  
• Next to Group similar faces, click the Down arrow. 
• Turn on Face grouping.
  
• Optional: To turn on face grouping just for pets, turn on Show pets with people.

• When "Group similar faces" is activated in https://photos.google.com/settings the whole process should start automatically, and new faces should be recognized rather rapidly. It probably works correctly for many users (it always worked for me). 
  
  
• But there are many reports of the adding of faces being slow, or very slow so that it looks like completely stuck. 
  
  
• There have been suggestions to turn "Grouping similar faces" OFF and ON again, but there are complaints that already grouped faces get lost and it does not restart anyway.
  NOT RECOMMENDED. 
  
  
• We (users like you not getting info from Google) suspect that the system is just overloaded. Note that this is just guessing, confirmed by the fact that it may restart after a long time.

When I add videos to a shared album, and someone tries to download those videos from the link I've sent them, they get a compressed file.

I am 100% certain that I have uploaded them at the full/original quality. When I try to download them myself (using the same google account that uploaded the original videos) they are downloaded at full size & quality. If I give someone access to those same videos via "partner sharing" they are able to download the files at full/original quality.

Why can't others download the full quality files using a shared album link? My work involves sharing large video files regularly and this seems like a massive oversight in functionality.

It doesn't matter how long link/album has been active. The recipient still is forced to download compressed files.

And yes I can upload the files to Google Drive or another file hosting service but it's so much less convenient to wait for the files to upload and finish processing all over again.
