You should know the devices connected to your Google account.

 

Also, if you think you have been hacked, it is best to chnage your password and activate 2step verification if you dont have that already

Google Photos needs to transcode the video to accommodate the edits. The compression is part of that process and not necessarily a reduction in quality. There are no options to change the way it works.

Many Andorid devices have screenshots and pictures from installed apps saved into the DCIM folder as default.

Thus, Google Photos also includes in the backup those files mixed up together with the CAMERA folder, which is the only one most users want to backup.

This problem has been reported from over 5000 users, online there are hundreds of forums about this.

The solution is very easy: please add the option to choose a custom path for the main camera folder to backup in Google Photos. Thanks.
