You can't make Google Photos be globally searchable in Google.

You need to create a website or use a service, POSSIBLY like one of these (it's a moving target, look before you leap):

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

 

First, The edit feature may not be available in some regions. If you happen to be from there, then regretfully, you can't do anything.

 

You can add a person through the following steps.

 

Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots. 

If the app has failed to include some faces in that picture, you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".

 

Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge. (An icon of a pencil ).

 

That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail. 
Then the app will show you all the identified faces till that time.
You can select the right one.

 

If not, tap the + sign at the top right corner of the screen.
That would create a new grouping altogether.

 

Once created, the app may take some time to bring all the related pictures to this new grouping.Otherwise, you can go through the collection & add the photos to the newly created group manually through the steps described above.

A complete reset of the Google Photos app may be required,

1. delete the Google Photos app, photos in the camera roll will not be affected
2. power down/power up or restart the device
3. reinstall Google Photos checking the correct account is used and the backup size is correct
4. Google Photos should rescan the camera roll to backup all the photos which are not already online

If possible leave the app open and make sure that Background app refresh is enabled in the iOS settings; Google Photos

I would say not. Pixels are the only phones with any free storage and not for the new Pixels.

Could you please confirm how did you upload the videos from your device to Google Photos? Also, what is the format of the video?

In the meantime, try uploading the video once again from the web version of Google Photos through the below steps:

I accidentally deleted around 7 photos permanently when trying to restore them from my bin. I have filled in the Google form to hopefully get them back and Google responded with an acknowledgement of request email with a reference number but no specific information.

I read somewhere that as long as the photos are accessed within 21 days they can be recovered. Is this ? 

How long does it usually take for Google to respond to issues like this?

This forum, where you have posted,  is not the Google Photos support community ;  however the following standard response is provided for general advice, and assistance.

 

If correctly synced to your Google account, your photos/videos can be viewed at https://photos.google.com/ on a pc, or in your device using the Google Photos app from Google Play.  Make sure you are signed into the correct account.  Read Find missing photos & videos for initial help. If that doesn't help:-

•  Have you signed into the correct account where the photos are stored?
• Photos may not have been correctly synced to Google, in which case Google does not have them.
• Search Trash/Bin in a desktop PC, or your device, in the photos page or app, if needed. 
• Use the Google Photos app on your device, downloadable from Google Play.

• Photos/videos deleted from Trash/Bin at https://photos.google.com/  cannot be recovered.
• Google delete photos/videos if in Google Photos Trash/Bin for > 60 days.  If removed by Google after 60 days, cannot be restored.
• Read Delete & restore your photos & videos for further information.

If you did not delete these yourself, you need to immediately make your account more secure.

 

Please note from 01 June 2021 new Google Photos storage conditions.  Also read here and here.

 

(Deleted YouTube videos are usually unrecoverable  However this page may help, small print - YMMV.  For specific YouTube assistance, please ask in the YouTube help community.)

Welcome to the Google Photos Product Help Forum. Sorry you are having issues.

I am pretty certain from what you describe, that you really have the old Google Photos Backup installed - it became unsupported on May 12.

Backup & Sync is a new tool. It is much more powerful and complex.  If you are not extremely computer savvy, you may not want to use it - many people seem to have unanticipated problems with it if they don't completely understand where their files are stored and are very careful setting the preferences. It is easy to simply us UPLOAD from the top of https://photos.google.com/u/0/ when you want to add images to Google Photos from your computer - this is what I do, but 90+% of my photos are loaded automatically from my phones.

If this makes sense, you can (if you use Windows), click alt+ctrl+DEL > Task Manager > Startup (Tab) > Select "Google Photos Backup" and click the "Disable" button.

If this does not make sense, let me know.

I'm afraid it's not very likely that you'll recover these photos, but please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried. 

1. Check your online account - photos.google.com

If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than one Google account, check all of them. 

2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash

Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.

If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos. 

3. Review other options

• if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos. 
• have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
• there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself. 
• you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
