If done less then 30 days agoo, they still maybe in the Recently deleted folder of the Apple Photos app and can be recovered. Then they will get stored at Google again also for safety (what else?).

Never clear why people delete photos that are so important ????

Just to let you know that Free Up Space option on the Google Photos app will actually remove/delete all the data file (Photos and videos) from your phone that have already been backed up completely to the Google Photos. As you've mentioned that it has deleted from the Google Photos also, could you please check if you're able to see the photos and videos on web (photos.google.com)? If not, please check for the following things:

1. Can you see them via Picasa?

2. Ensure you are logged in to the correct Google account.

I checked Picasa and under Autobackup, there are blank thumbnails where the photos should go. The dates are correct I believe but the photos do not load. When I click on a thumbnail, I get a "No items available" message. I forgot to mention that on the online version of Google Photos, the timeline on the right-hand side says it goes farther back to the year 2016 (where the missing photos should be) but I cannot scroll past a certain date.

You can not if samsung has put the screenshot folder in the Dcim folder named Camera on the Library page. But you simply can select these shot and hide them by archiving via the 3 dots.

Because you have a lot already, you have made it complicated. Select the photo needed in the Photos app, hit Share and select Drive at the bottom and allow to upload. Then open your concept and hit the paperclip, select Drive and select the photo. There you are.

Could you please confirm if you're trying to restore some photos? If yes, please check if the photos are present in the Trash of Google Photos? If yes, please restore them through the below steps:

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
At the top left, tap Menu.
Click on Trash.
Touch and hold the photo or video you want to recover.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:

In your phone.
Into the "Photos" section of the app.
Into any albums it was in.

But if you've already deleted the photos from the Trash from your Google Photos, there is no other way to restorethem.

Incase if you're referring that you've deleted the photos/videos permanently from the trash, unfortunately, there isn't any way to recover them. If not, please check if you see the photos/videos on trash as you can always recover photos/videos from the Google Photos app trash.
