Because without knowledge you have created a large problem. 
First remove the Google Photos app because you can view your photos in Apple Photos. 
Secondly open photos.google.com in Safari and log-in with your Gmail-account. 
Then go to settings (cockwheel) and choose Recover storage and wait a day. 
Then left down on that site you can see how much storage you still have and probably enough again for Gmailing. 
Come back to report - then we can tell what you may need to do more.

All photos are found in photos.google.com? Well no, I found that Google quit automatically updating Google Photos with new files uploaded in Google Drive some time before 2021. So is Google Photo storage separate from Google Drive storage in addition to not being counted toward the free 15 gbyte limit? Or is the prrviously free Google Photo storage just a logical, not physical separation? Updating Google Photos with files in Google Drive did bump my storage up closer to 15 gbytes. How could Google make this more obscure?

Photos uploaded from Android since sometime in 2019 or later were in Drive (pictures folder) not to be found anywhere in Google Photos. Through a process in Photos (upload from Drive), I put them in Photos along with those uploads from Android that occurred prior to July 2019.

Since that increased my Drive storage up from a total reported with THOSE SAME PHOTOS prior to the Drive total reported after the (internal in the cloud) upload, I ask where do the photos sit in the cloud. Tracking down photos missing from Google Photos was hard and confusing given July 2019 and June 2021 changes.

I continue to look at a chaotic relationship with Photos in uploading new photos from Android as that is an upload to Drive, not Google Photos process.

Google should fix this.

When I started using Drive (before it became Sync and Backup) I had all my files and photos that I took with my phone synced on my computer in a logical folder structure. After a while Google decided to separater Google Drive and Photos so I lost the ability to have my photos on my PC automatically - I could download them directly from my phone or via the Photos App. Now I see that with the new Drive all my files are no longer in a logical structure if I do not start the Google Drive application. So why the f..ing f... have I been paying for 100gb yearly to have this f...ery be changed so abruptly? Or have i misinterpreted something? I have ADSL with 6Mbit/0,6Mbit speed... at home. Every time I upload form work something big to Drive i generally disable Drive on my home PC until I have time to leave it on to download everything so that I don't clog up my ADLS. And especially when I have to upload something from my home PC i have to disable Drive, copyy the file to my Drive folder and wait until before I go to sleep to enable Drive again. If this is so I am definitely switching to Microsoft OneDrive...

Yes, this is partially a Google Drive question/rant but it extends to Photos.
Not having my files on my PC might seem like a good thing for people that have a small SSD/HDD but i have enough space to store all the images (and other Drive files) on all my devices that I use.
Also the files are not directly accessible so the idea of an offline file is unusable if I cannot really use it as I please and have to use the Drive app....

That isn't quite the case, with Drive for desktop if you upload a large file at work a shortcut will appear in the My Drive folder on your desktop and you can download it whenever you like by right clicking the file and going to Offline access, select Available offline and it will be downloaded. It actually works the same as OneDrive for files

Let's discuss this - I've installed Drive and uninstalled Sync And Backup a couple of days ago.
Drive created a new folder in AppData - Local.
And created a "virtual" drive G: where I was able to access my files.
I selected in Drive options that I wanted all of the files available offline and then Drive staterd filling the folder in AppData with files without extensions and without a logical folder structure.

Today I saw that there was a change in the Drive options - Streaming and Mirroring. When I selected Mirroring it created once again a new folder un my user profile and started filling data as it was before i uninstalled Backup and Sync. If this stays the same I don't have to switch to another product. This was not available a couple of days ago.

Now another queston remains: Photos. Will I be able to access my pictures on Photos on my PC as I was able before Photos separated from Drive? What I mean is that before the separation my photos were stored in a folder on Drive and I was able to access them localy on my PC. After the separation the photos are available only via the Photos web page (or on my Android device) and if I want to access them I have to manually download the images.

This doesn't change, what you could do is to is to use OneDrive on your Android and enable the Camera upload which will sync the photos to your computer OneDrive camera roll.  You can then move them to computer storage manually. Moving them does not sync back to the Android device, but will delete them from OneDrive so not impacting the free storage allowance.

Hi! I use google photos for my iPhone back up and I've been through and sorted all my photos into albums on the google photos app which took ages. 

Everytime I go back into the google photos app I find that the albums have many less photos than when I sorted my photos - basically google photos app keeps deleting photos out of my albums - but mainly videos that I've sorted. Why is it doing this? It's really annoying, I don't want to have to sort my photos every time google photos drops images from the files. I want all the kids pictures together etc.
