Trump news on Youtube Feb 18 2019

Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi were getting ready to celebrate.

They thought they pulled a fast one on President Trump.

But their lives were turned upside down when Trump hinted he could deal them this surprising

defeat.

Congress appears ready to pass legislation providing 1.375 billion dollars in border

wall funding to construct 55 miles of barrier in the Rio Grande Valley.

Democrats thought that since Trump asked for 5.7 billion dollars that this signaled a massive

defeat for the President.

However, that was not the case.

President Trump used it as just the first step.

And Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced he had other options to secure border

wall funding.

"Like the president himself said yesterday, he's not happy about it, but he's okay

because he's going to get the job done no matter what,"Sanders declared.

"He's got alternative options.

And he's going to keep those on the table, again, we'll see what the final package

looks like and the president will make a determination on whether or not he is going to sign it."

One option was reprogramming some unspent money available to the President from other

departments.

That could secure up to 900 million dollars in additional funding.

Trump could also declare a national emergency.

That would allow the President to tap into over three billion dollars in military construction

project funds.

But both of those strategies carry the risk that they could be tied up in court fights

for years.

There is one more legislative option Trump could explore.

A jury recently convicted Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman on charges that

could put the Mexican drug lord in prison for the rest of his life.

After his arrest, the federal government also seized over 14 billion dollars in assets from

"El Chapo."

Back in 2017, Senator Ted Cruz introduced the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets

to Provide Order Act – otherwise known as the EL CHAPO Act – to use El Chapo's assets

to fund border wall construction.

"The U.S.

Government is currently seeking the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug

proceeds and illicit profits from El Chapo, the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel

who was recently extradited to the U.S. to face criminal prosecution for numerous alleged

drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering,"

Cruz declared when he introduced this bill.

After El Chapo's conviction, Cruz revived the legislation and demanded a vote.

Senator Cruz tweeted, "America's justice system prevailed today in convicting JoaquínGuzmán

Loera, aka El Chapo, on all 10 counts.

U.S. prosecutors are seeking $14 billion in drug profits & other assets from El Chapo

which should go towards funding our wall to #SecureTheBorder."

A vote on this bill could put the Democrats in a pickle.

They've objected to wall funding in part because they claim U.S. taxpayers shouldn't

foot the bill.

Cruz's EL CHAPO Act takes care of that.

Do you support legislation to use drug kingpin El Chapo's seized assets to fund the border

wall?

Trade negotiators have just returned from China where the meetings on Trade were very productive

Now at meetings with me at Mar-a-Lago giving the details. In the meantime, Billions of Dollars are being paid to the United States by China in the form of Trade Tariffs!  — Donald J

TRUMP FINDS $14B FOR HIS BORDER WALL LEAVES DEMOCRATS ANGRY - Duration: 8:02.

TRUMP FINDS $14B FOR HIS BORDER WALL LEAVES DEMOCRATS ANGRY

senator Ted Cruz has come up with an interesting idea I'm the practicality of it obviously

it is being questioned but I want to share with

you this tweet he's proposing El Chapo and other drug lords pay for the

wall he writes this America's justice system prevailed today in convictingJoaquin Guzman

aka El Chapo on all ten counts US prosecutors are seeking 14 billion

dollars in drug profits and other assets from El Chapo which should

go towards funding our wall to hash tags secure the border what do you think of that concept

senator Kennedy and by the way this is

just his last tweet on the subject it'stime to pass my el chapo act he's actually introducing

this I ate colleagues to take swift action on this crucial

legislation is that somethingthat you would support or consider sure

I mean if we get money out of El Chapo I'm all for it he's not gonna need it where he's

going he's going to be able to buy stuff at a prison coming sir coming

to commissary and that's about it but yeah we can find this asset so I

think we ought to see some kids right I'll vote for that interesting fourteen billion

dollars could go a long way well I think it might I don't think it's fourteen

billion cash sitting in his checking account it may be hard to find

the assets but that's something we oughtto do anyway whether we spend it on the wall

or not but sure I'm up for the bill senator Kennedy we love having you on the

program please come back soon good

to see you sir thank you Thankswell mr.

Hernandez seems to have an unexpected ally in many congressional

Republicans who have avoided funding the border wall president from proposed one

man trying to fix the impasse a Senator Ted Cruz of Texas he just introduced theensuring

lawful collection of hidden

assets to provide Order Act El Chapo for short named in honor of the infamousMexican drug

lord the bill would use any assets seized from drug lords to finance the

construction of the border wall senator Cruz joins us now senator good

to see it Tucker good to see it congratulations on the new show butthank you the obvious question

is why are you one of the president's bitterest political

enemies during the primaries taking the lead in helping to fulfill

one of his basic campaign promises why is it falling to you where's everybody else well

listen that was then this is I

know but we had a vigorous primary but right now we've got a historic opportunity we have

a Republican

president we have Republican heads of every agents right with Republican majorities in

both Congress I am spending every waking moment night and day

working to help lead the fight to let's deliver on our promises let's do

what we said but why is no one else doing that well I look I hope we see more Republicans

stepping forward to do it when it comes to the border wall thisis

a common-sense issue I represent Texas we got 1200 miles of border with

tech with Mexico and we have got to secure the border we have promised the American people

if you elect us we will do that I think we need to honor that

promise I just again for the third time because I'm I'm marveling at this you would think

that that more in your position in the Senate would have thesame

attitude but they don't they're against the border wars you know many of

your colleagues Republicans are against it why do you think they're against it well you

know as you know the Democrats right now are threatening to shut downthe

government or try to stop the blasting and I think that just shows how

radical they are and I hope and believethis new administration will follow the follow

the promise and build the border well what I tried to do with this

legislation I introduced yesterday wasprovide a funding stream and El Chapo is you know

notorious drug lord leader of the Senate OA drug cartel is in UScustody

he's being he's being prosecuted and the federal government has initiated

civil forfeiture actionshis fortune is estimated at 14 billion dollars now it so happens coincidentally

that the estimated cost of the wall isbetween 14 and 20 billion dollars so the legislation

I filed yesterday was very

simple it said any proceeds that are forfeited from El Chapo and from otherdrug lords shall

be spent building the wall and securing the border and I got to

say Tucker that there's a justice tothat in that these drug cartels are the

ones crossing the border with impunity smuggling drugs smuggling narcotics

engaged in human trafficking they're the

ones violating our laws and it's only fitting that their ill-gotten gains funds securing

the border the cost of a border wall is relatively low yeah compared

to a lot of other government programs so when you hear its opponents

on both sides site cost is a reason to oppose it what's your reaction I listenthat's a fig

leaf that's that's not the reason they oppose that the opponents of the

border wall oppose it from the Democratic side because they support

illegal immigration yeah it is very simple you know back in January I was down in McAllen

on the Texas border and I joined the the

midnight muster before the midnightBorder Patrol went out and I gotta say I visited

with about 150 Border Patrol agents the relief these men and womenhad at

the election results it was palpable they were so frustrated at

having spent eight years in anadministration where their political superiors you know imagine

you're out there risking your life apprehending violent

cartels traffickers you bringthem in and your political superiors

process them through release them and the next day you're out catching the same

guys all over again they were frustrated out of their minds imagine how demoralizing that

is it would drive

you insane and what's astonishing is in the first couple of months of this new

administration illegal immigration has already dropped more than 50% now Tucker if back in

the fall and if in August or September October we were to say a lecture

Republican who will enforce the law an illegal immigration will drop 50%

before we build a mile of wall before we hire another Border Patrol agent the mainstream

media would have ridiculed that claim would have said that is loony yeah

and and I asked the agents I

definitely have some change and they said the only thing that's changed is the cartels

understand now we have an administration that will enforce

the law that matters it's totally true really quick last question I can't

Kim Jong-un to arrive in Vietnam on Feb. 25th ahead of summit with Pres. Trump: Report - Duration: 2:23.

It looks like North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will be heading to Vietnam a couple of days

ahead of his summit there with President Trump.

He's reportedly going to go as a state guest to meet with the Vietnamese president and

tour some important sites related to the country's economy.

And now, with working-level officials from North Korea and the U.S. in Hanoi, preparations

are expected to pick up speed this week.

Oh Jung-hee has the latest.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un might go to Vietnam a couple of days early for a state

visit... ahead of his summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.

That's according to Reuters on Saturday... which cited sources familiar with the developments.

Kim is scheduled to meet with Trump from February 27th to 28th.

And these sources told Reuters... that Kim Jong-un is to arrive in Hanoi on the 25th

to meet with local government officials and attend a summit with the Vietnamese president.

The North Korean leader will also take a brief tour around the country -- visiting the manufacturing

base of Bac Ninh and the industrial port town of Hai Phong.

With less than two weeks left until the summit, Vietnam is tightening security around key

facilities in Hanoi... as more North Korean and American officials start arriving for

working-level preparations.

First of all, officials in charge of protocol will coordinate on the summit's logistics.

Arriving in Hanoi on Saturday... were Kim Jong-un's close aide... and the director of

North Korea's State Affairs Commission, Kim Chang-son,... and his U.S. counterpart, Daniel

Walsh, who's the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations.

Meanwhile, the two sides' nuclear negotiators are also believed to be meeting in Hanoi this

week... to work on the summit agreement.

They will be Kim Hyok-chol, North Korea's Special Representative for U.S. Affairs,...

and Stephen Biegun, U.S. Special Representative for North Korea.

They sat down for three days earlier this month in Pyeongyang to openly talk about their

stances.

Biegun told South Korean lawmakers afterwards... that the two sides will start drafting the

agreement at their next meeting.

The document is believed to center around North Korea's dismantling of the Yeongbyeon

nuclear facilities and their verification... and rewards in return from the U.S.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

THIS IS HOW TRUMP WILL BUILD THE WALL WITHOUT DEMOCRAT HELP! PELOSI SHAKING IN FEAR - Duration: 8:12.

THIS IS HOW TRUMP WILL BUILD THE WALL WITHOUT DEMOCRAT HELP!

PELOSI SHAKING IN FEAR

hi everybody i'm brian kilmeade this is tucker carlson tonight tucker will be with you in

about five minutes but we do have some breaking news we

want to share with you of course today was dominated by many stories one of which was

the bipartisan budget bill for

butter security and the big number is that the president was not happy with was one point

three seven five billion to build a border barrier he could do whatever

he wanted with it which shows an advantage but the question was with

the president add something with that when he declare a national emergency I

just got off the phone with Mick Mulvaney chief of staff and the answer is a resounding

yes and for the first time you're going to hear exactly how much

it is and where the money's coming from it's going to be about eight

billion dollars he had the one point three then six hundred million will comefrom the

Treasury the Treasury forfeiture fund 2.5 billion out of DoD they

consulted with McMullen E and the White House over the last few months on

what they could actually do and they're going to use some money they feel they can spare

on the drug interdiction interdiction account then they came across

with three point five billion for the military the military construction

budget they feel they can help in that respect and then of course they have additional money

it all leads adds up to eight billion dollars so the one pointthree

seven five not enough for the president he wanted five point seven he

walks away at the end of the day with eight billion dollars and of course the Democrats

and some Republicans are upset about that he's got a lot of backup from people

like Mitch McConnell he's got backup from Senator Lindsey Graham who

weeks ago said that the president should give a certain amount of time to negotiations and

if he doesn't get what he wants at the end of the negotiations declare

a national emergency I just got off the phone with a White House

official who says in fact that you have McConnell spoke to the president and

that's what was said in the conversation so I mean that's a huge piece of newsthat the

president's going to sign this but at the same time declare a national emergency

now Chad was talking about the intricacies of this transfer authority

and reprogramming money within certain so it's like think think that you've got a farm

think of the federal government as a farm and the farms got a bunch of silos

on it and each one of those silos is filled with money and you're allowed

to move some money around within each of those silos and you're also allowed to move certain

amounts of money in between the silos now if you declare a national emergency it gives

you greater leeway to be able

to move money around in between those silos and White House attorneys have looked at this

for months this idea of a national emergency and they have identified

certain baskets of money that they believe can be applied to building

a border wall each each time you dip into a different basket though you're increasing

the level of potential pushback and and your potential risk for a

legal challenge so there's some baskets of money they believe they have

that they can use and nobody's going to be able to challenge them but once they go through

those baskets of money and pick up the next basket that comes with

a little more risk and then each basket after that comes with an increasing degree of risk

so as you move this money around inside they don't specific silos like

the DHS silo or you move from the DoD silo into the DHS silo or energy

into it just for example into the DHSaisle you you get increasing risk so it's not clear

how much money the president might be able to move around before

he ends up in court but I do know that the OMB office office of management

budget here at the White House has identified far more than the 5.7 billion

dollars in the president originally wanted in these baskets of money that it believes

it can move around it just it's

they have to make a decision on to whatdegree do they risk inviting a legal challenge here

because once you get

enjoined then you run the risk of almost everything getting it joined in the courts I mean a lot

of people thought that the president might use this option but

there was a lot of thought that he probably wouldn't use the option he has

said many many times that he would rather do it legislatively but it's clear that the

president thought that he could not do it legislatively so now he's

going to declare the national emergency the national emergency as the

president sees it is a humanitarian and economic emergency that exists across our southern

border tens of thousands of people are being apprehended every month

Ivanka Trump leads the way at the Munich Security Conference - Duration: 1:44.

Ivanka Trump is said to be working hard behind the scenes of Washington DC to implement her paid family leave initiative - and she certainly didn't shy away from the spotlight in Munich this week either

The President's daughter, who herself is believed to have presidential ambitions, delivered a rousing speech at the 55th annual Munich Security Conference on Saturday

Accompanied by Vice President, Mike Pence, and her husband, Jared, Ivanka schmoozed with world leaders at the summit discussing a wealth of topics such as trade and international security, as well as the the future of NATO

Ivanka seemed to strike a particular accord with Angela Merkel, telling Bild she admired her 'leadership on the world stage', as well as her 'company and sense of humor

' 'The Chancellor's dedication to vocational education and the economic empowerment of women are just two areas in which we share common goals and interests,' she added

In a stark contrast to her father's solemn showing at a G7 summit in 2017, Ivanka seemed to revel in meeting with both leaders of today, and leaders of the future

Biden repudiates President Trump's policies in Munich speech - Daily News - Duration: 2:58.

Joe Biden isn't in the 2020 presidential race yet, but he's making clear at an international gathering that he thinks President Trump has undermined America's ability to claim moral leadership

The former vice president says the US doesn't want to turn its back on its closest allies and cherishes democracy, the rule of law and a free press

Biden tells the Munich Security Conference that the America he sees 'stands up to the aggression of dictators and against strongmen who rule by coercion, corruption and violence

'He says his country 'values basic human decency, not snatching children from their parents or turning our backs on refugees at our border

Americans know that's not right.' Biden has not yet said whether he'll join the increasingly crowded field of Democrats running for their party's nomination

He has two public events slated for later this month, the first at the University of Pennsylvania and the second in Delaware, his home state

Share this article Share The 76-year old would also find himself at the center of a debate among Democrats about whether their party would best be led in the November 2020 vote by a political newcomer or a seasoned veteran

'I haven't reached a decision,' Biden told reporters at the conference. 'I'm in the process of doing that, and I will in the near term let everyone know what that decision is

' 'I think there is a sufficient amount of time to do that,' he added. 'And I think that we have a tendency particularly in the States to start the whole election process much too early

''We should be focusing now on what needs to be done to alter some of the policies that are being promoted by the president

'More than two dozen Democrats could ultimately opt to run for president, creating a crowded field hoping to challenge President Trump in 2020

Biden, who served two terms as vice president after decades in the Senate, would have the advantage of name recognition should he enter the race

Many Vietnamese excited for the 2nd Kim-Trump summit amid minor preparations being made - Duration: 2:49.

so with less than 10 days to go until the big summit North Korea and the US

are accelerating their preparations for the meeting between Kim jong-un and

president Trump and with signs of preparations evident here and there thus

far many people in Vietnam are starting to get rather excited that their country

is going to play host to such a historic event our eg1 reports from Hanoi Hanoi

the capital of Vietnam with a population of 7.7 million has been announced as the

host city of the second North Korea US summit by President Donald Trump earlier

this month the news was widely covered by Vietnamese newspapers and televisions

and many local citizens are eagerly anticipating this historic event a lot

of us are thrilled and proud to be hosting this very important event it

will be a good opportunity to promote our country to the world

I think the summit is being held here because both countries have trust in US

hosting the event will be great for our country's economy and I hope we can

contribute to the peacemaking process of the region there could be some

inconveniences during the summit period but if the US and North Korea can

develop their ties and make great achievements we are more than welcome

but there are also those who are completely unaware of the news because

they've been too busy going about their daily lives it's my first time hearing

such news I don't have much time to watch television or read news meanwhile

a number of key locations that could play a role in the summit are quietly

making preparations of their own JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi where President

Donald Trump is widely expected to stay appears to be making itself ready for

the arrival of a high-profile guest there was a major cleanup of the

surrounding gardens and holes have been dug around the hotel possibly to plant

more trees the North Korean embassy is also undergoing minor renovations

even on the weekend workers were painting the walls of the building and

cleaning the fences the bulletin board just outside the embassy was also

updated with the latest news out of North Korea all of these changes may be

in preparation for a possible visit by North Korean leader Kim jong-un during

the summit the security around the premises wasn't as high as reported by

other South Korean media outlets but with less than two weeks left to go and

the protocol teams of North Korea and the u.s. working on the final

arrangements more visible developments are expected to occur within the next

few days Jiwon Arirang news Hanoi
