'She'll never be put in the UN': Trump INSULTS 'not too diplomatic' - Duration: 7:30.

'She'll never be put in the UN': Trump INSULTS 'not too diplomatic' aide he fired at Melania's request

President Donald Trump defended firing an aide first lady Melania Trump wanted gone and admitted his Chief of Staff John Kelly 'will move on' but denied reports his White House is in chaos and gave himself an A+ as president.

'The White House is running like a well-oiled machine, it's doing really well, I have great people. I will make some changes but not very many.

I'm very happy with my cabinet, other than, you know a couple of exceptions and even there I'm not unhappy,' he said on 'Fox News Sunday.'.

'I would give myself an A+, is that enough? Can I go higher than that?,' he said when asked to grade his presidency.

Trump's bravado comes in the wake of chess moves in the West Wing that saw him fire a national security aide at his wife's request, shove Attorney General Jeff Sessions out the door, and show signs of readying pink slips for his chief of staff and Homeland Security secretary.

But despite his praise for his presidency, Trump said he would not push to change the constitution so he could run for a third term. 'I think the eight year limit is a good thing, not a bad thing,' he said.

Melania Trump won a White House battle to decide the fate of Deputy National Security Advisor Mira Ricardel after an all-out pitched battle that pitted the West and East Wings against each other.

Ricardel was fired Wednesday evening following a rare public rebuke from the first lady's office.

'It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that she no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,' said first lady spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham.

Some of Ricardel's enemies in the White House had accused her of leaking, and she reportedly tried to undermine Melania's recent trip to Africa.

Trump defended his wife and said she has not been treated properly by the press, particularly after 'great job' in Africa. 'Well I didn't know the advisor well, really, and I know they had a lot of problem.

My wife did a great job in Africa and she was not treated properly by the press, she really worked so hard,' he told 'Fox News Sunday.'.

The president added that he knew the East Wing was going to put out a statement calling for Ricardel to be fired.

'They came to me. They wanted to go a little bit public because that's the way they felt and I thought it was fine.

I met with Mira two days ago and we're going to move her around. She was with me for a long time, although I don't know her.

She's really somebody I don't know very well. But we're going to move her around because she's got certain talents,' he said. Then he seemed to get in a dig at Ricardel.

'But, frankly, she is not - she'll never be put in the United Nations, let me put it that way,' he said.

Nikki Haley is leaving the post as U.S. ambassador to the U.N. at the end of the year and the president has yet to formally name her replacement. Trump clarified of Ricardel: 'She's not too diplomatic, but she's talented.

The president also wouldn't guarantee John Kelly or Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen would keep their jobs in the White House.

He said of Nielsen: 'I like her a lot. I respect her a lot. I want her to get much tougher and we'll see what happens there. But I want to be extremely tough.'.

He said there's a 'chance's she would stay in her job but repeated he wanted her to be much tougher on border security and immigration.

The president also wouldn't say if Kelly would remain chief of staff through the 2020 election - an assertion he has made in the past.

'We get along well. There are certain things I love what he does. And there are certain things that I don't like that he does - that aren't his strength,' he said.

He added: "He's doing an excellent job in many ways. There are a couple of things where it's just not his strength. It's not his fault, it's not his strength.'.

But when pressed the president declined to say what Kelly was failing to do. 'John, at some point, is going to want to move on. John will move on,' Trump said.

He added: 'Look, I have three or four or five positions that I'm thinking about. Of that, maybe it's going to end up being two. Maybe, but I want to - I need flexibility.'.

A 36-year-old top aide to Vice President Mike Pence emerged on Wednesday as the leading candidate to replace Kelly. Kelly is thought to be on the chopping block because he feuded with first lady Melania Trump over staff promotions.

Facing Trump's ire at the same time is Nielsen, whom the president believes is too slow to implement his tough-on-illegal-immigrants border control policies.

Kelly was Nielsen's mentor made her his chief of staff when he ran DHS, before moving to the West Wing – where he brought her along before securing her appointment to his old job.

His likely replacement is, Nick Ayers a young and politically astute operator with a reputation for successfully guiding Pence as both a loyal soldier and a hopeful successor with a mind of his own.

Brian Kemp is declared winner of Georgia governor's race as Trump takes credit for his win - Duration: 4:35.

Brian Kemp is declared winner of Georgia governor's race as Trump takes credit for his win

Republican Brian Kemp has officially won the Georgia Governor's race, denying Democrat Stacey Abrams the chance to become the first female black governor in the nation.

The Associated Press called the race for Kemp on Sunday afternoon as the state officially certified its results from the Nov. Abrams on Sunday conceded Kemp was the legal winner but refused to call him the legitimate winner.

The race has been a nail biter from the start as polls showed the two contenders running neck and neck. Both sides poured money and star power into the contest, which was plagued by allegations of voter fraud.

Kemp narrowly avoided a runoff contest, beating Abrams by 54,723 votes out of more than 3. He had to get more than 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff and barley did so, coming in with 50.

The race became an all-star battle with both sides bringing in the political might to help the candidates close the deal in the final days leading up to the election. Abrams had Oprah Winfrey, former President Barack Obama, and Will Ferrell.

Kemp had President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Trump took credit for Kemp's win on Sunday. 'I won against President Obama and Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama in a great state called Georgia for the governor.

And it was all stacked against Brian and I was the one that went for Brian and Brian won,' he said on 'Fox News Sunday.'.

It was unclear what he meant by the Michelle Obama reference as the former first lady did not campaign for Abrams, although her husband did.

Abrams on Sunday conceded Kemp was the legal winner but said she would not call him the legitimate winner.

She told CNN's 'State of the Union' that she thought there was deliberate interference in the election, saying 'it began eight years ago with the systematic disenfranchisement of more than a million voters.

It continued with the underfunding and disinvestment in polling places, in training and in the management of the county delivery of services. And I think it had its pinnacle in this race.'.

'So yes, there was a deliberate and intentional disinvestment and, I think, destruction of the administration of elections in the state of Georgia,' she noted.

Voting rights was a huge issue in the race especially after Kemp - in his role as secretary of state - launched an investigation into the state's Democratic Party, just two days before the election.

Kemp claimed the Democratic Party of Georgia attempted to hack the state's voter registration system — yet has provided no evidence to support the charge.

The secretary of state's office is refusing to supply any details, as well, and the Democratic Party is denying the unverified allegation.

'I will never deny the legal imprimatur that says he is in this position, and I pray for his success,' Abrams said Sunday on CNN.

'But will I say that this election was not tainted, was not a disinvestment and a disenfranchisement of thousands of voters? I will not say that.'.
