North Carolina Church "OVERJOYED" At Pastor's Release! Thank You Trump! - Duration: 4:07.

Trump secured the release of North Carolina Pastor, Andrew Brunson earlier today and the

world is cheering the success!

But nowhere more than his home church in North Carolina.

From the WaPo:

Members of the Christ Community Church in Montreat, North Carolina, are overjoyed at

Turkey's release of evangelical pastor Andrew Brunson.

A Turkish court on Friday convicted Brunson on terror-related charges but released him

from house arrest and allowed him to leave Turkey.

The decision is expected to ease strained U.S.-Turkey relations.

Debi Forester, the church's communications director, says the church's Rev. Richard

White has been with the Brunson family in Turkey for a day or two.

The U.S. Consulate is handling Brunson's travel arrangements to return to the United

States.

She quotes White as saying the group is "all just shouting 'Hallelujah!' and doing

the happy dance."

She says the church will have a welcome home party for Brunson sometime.

The court sentenced Brunson to a little more than three years in prison, but since the

50-year-old North Carolina native has already spent two years in detention, he won't serve

more time.

In case you missed it, we covered this BREAKING STORY earlier today, here are the details

God bless our wonderful President Trump!

While Obama was busy paying Iran $1.7B for the release of some questionable characters,

Trump has made it clear he will pay NO MONEY and offer NO CONCESSIONS to any country illegally

holding American citizens!

Especially pastors!

With the same tough stance he's taken against North Korea, Mexico, Canada and China, Trump

gets results.

And he just got a MAJOR result, finally freeing the imprisoned North Carolina Pastor, Andrew

Brunson!

My favorite comment came from a Facebook commentor who said of the story:

"A president who will fight for you and bring you home!

"

That's exactly right!

God Bless Trump!

Grab Your President Donald J. Trump and Supreme Court Justice Judge Brett Kavanaugh Collector

Coin, While Supplies last!

Here are more details, from Vox:

After years of imprisonment that sparked an international furor, Turkey has released North

Carolina Pastor Andrew Brunson into the custody of US diplomatic personnel.

He'll soon fly to a US air base in Germany before heading back to the United States.

Brunson was held by Turkish authorities for two years, charged with unproven crimes that

he was involved in espionage.

But after months of trying, the Trump administration struck a dealwith Turkish officials to bring

the pastor home.

Upon hearing the news on Friday, Trump tweeted "My thoughts and prayers are with Pastor

Brunson, and we hope to have him safely back home soon!"

Thus ends a saga that became deeply personal for the Brunson family and top US administration

officials.

Brunson is "a great Christian, family man and wonderful human being," President Donald

Trump tweeted on July 28.

"He is suffering greatly."

Trump escalated tensions with Turkey, a NATO ally, over Brunson.

He placed sanctions on two high-ranking Turkish officials and tariffs on Ankara's steel

and aluminum sectors because the country wouldn't release the pastor.

Those moves quickly plunged Turkey's currency and may send the country into a recessionnext

year.

It's possible the US will lift some or all of those penalties in exchange for Brunson's

return.

MSNBC's Wallace Admits She Told Jeb Bush To Punch Trump 'In The Face' - Duration: 4:57.

MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace revealed on Thursday that she previously told former Florida Governor

Jeb Bush to physically assault then-candidate Donald Trump after one of the debates during

the 2016 presidential election.

During a segment on MSNBC, Wallace bragged about telling Bush after the debate that he

should have punched Trump in the face, and that he would have been "a hero" if he

did it.

Wallace made the comment in response to Michael Steele, a notable Never-Trumper who was discussing

the numerous feud's between Bush and Trump during the 2016 presidential election.

Here's Steele's comment.

"That's the advantage that Trump has because there are no consequences and the consequence

is not necessarily something bad happening, it is calling out the crazy.

It is calling out the lie of the moment.

It is saying right there, if any of those other — let me tell you, that Jeb Bush moment

on that stage, if any of the Republican on that stage backed Jeb Bush up when he went

after Trump and called him out, it would be a very different, —"Steele said before

Wallace cut him off.

"I told Jeb Bush after the debate that I thought he should have punched him in the

face," Wallace said, referring to Bush.

"Even if you lost, he insulted your wife, he came down the escalator and called Mexicans

rapists and murderers."

"He said, 'What do you think I should have done?'"

Wallace continued.

"I said, 'I think you should have punched him in the face and then gotten out of the

race.

You would have been a hero.'"

"Ted Cruz had his father accused of killing Jack Kennedy and he's using him in the race.

He's bringing him down.

All he did was call dad an assassin, and — but I need his help," network host Chris Matthews

added.

Ryan Saavedra MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace says she encouraged

Jeb Bush to physically attack Donald Trump: "I told Jeb Bush after that debate that I

thought he should have punched [Trump] in the face."

Wallace says Bush would have been "a hero" if he would have violently attacked Trump.

Wallace bragging on Thursday about encouraging violence against Trump is hardly the first

time she has made controversial comments about Trump and members of his administration.

In June, Wallace smeared First Daughter Ivanka Trump and First Lady Melania Trump by saying

they are "paid off" and "dead inside" because she claims that don't "stand up"

to Trump.

A few weeks before that, the MSNBC host compared White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee

Sanders to a terrorist and asked her guests if they have ever wanted to choke Sanders.

"How do you resist the temptation to run up and wring her neck?

Why can't she just say if a staffer said that, we're going to get to the bottom of

it and she'll be fired?"

Wallace asked.

Melania Trump on President Trump's Alleged Infidelity: "Not a Concern of Mine" | THR News - Duration: 1:49.

"It's gossip, It's not always correct stuff."

Melania Trump addressed her husband's alleged infidelity in a new clip from her

sit-down interview with ABC News, which aired Friday on 'Good Morning America.'

The first lady spoke to ABC's Tom Llamas during her first solo trip abroad to Africa

and said that she isn't worried or concerned about speculation of a troubled marriage

with the president.

"I'm a mother and a first lady and I have much more important things to think about

and to do."

Asked if she's ever hurt by the gossip, Melania Trump responded,

"Media, what is speculating, yeah, it's not always pleasant, of course."

Llamas didn't hold anything back during the interview and specifically asked Trump

about her husband's alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels.

Daniels previously detailed an alleged sexual encounter and relationship with

Donald Trump that had taken place one year after he married Melania Trump during

an nterview with 'In Touch Weekly' - an allegation which he firmly denied.

It was later revealed that Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen paid Daniels $130,000

in hush money ahead of the 2016 election. Trump claimed to have no knowledge of

the payment. Llamas brought up a previous statement from the president's new

attorney, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who insisted that Melania

"believes her husband" and "knows" the alleged affair with Daniels is "not true."

When asked if those statements were true, FLOTUS said that she's unsure as to

why Giuliani made that statement.

"I never talked to Mr. Giuliani"..." I don't know, you need to ask him"

And finally, Llamas asked about the state of the Trumps' marriage:

"Yes, we are fine, yes"

Second Kim-Trump summit will take place in next couple of months: Bolton - Duration: 0:44.

U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton has reaffirmed President Donald Trump's statement

on his planned second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Speaking on a local radio show on Friday,... Bolton said he thinks the summit will take

place (quote) "sometime in the next couple of months," but it depends on President Trump's

diplomatic efforts to convince North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons.

Bolton said the regime should "denuclearize completely and irreversibly" and if they can

do that... "the future could be very different for the North Korean people."

Bolton's remarks come after President Trump told reporters this week that the summit will

be held after the November 6th midterms.

America the Beautiful - Donald Trump - Duration: 3:03.

I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential

election if I win. I'm also honored to have the greatest temperament that

anybody has. I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I

wouldn't lose any voters okay it's like incredible. Would I approve

waterboarding? You bet your ass I'd approve it, you bet your ass. In a

heartbeat. What's the difference between a wet raccoon and Donald J Trump's hair?

A wet raccoon doesn't have 7 billion fucking dollars in the bank. He referred

to my hands- if they're small something else must be small. I guarantee you

there's no problem. I guarantee. He was saying that China has total respect for

Donald Trump and for Donald Trump's very very large...brain. I'm speaking with

myself number one because I have a very good brain and I've said a lot of things.

My administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the

history of our country... America's... so true.

Didn't expect that reaction but that's okay. Nobody knows the system better than

me, which is why I alone can fix it! I'm

actually a modest person, very modest. It's true. In fact many people tell me that

modesty is perhaps my best quality. Nobody has more respect for women than I

do, nobody. If Ivanka weren't my daughter perhaps

I'd be dating her. I'll admit it. I did try and fuck her. She was married. I moved in her like a

bitch. And when your star they let you do it. You can do anything, whatever you want-

grab them by the pussy. This was locker room talk. When Mexico sends its people,

they're not sending their best. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime,

their rapists. We're gonna build the wall, we have no choice, we have no choice. [cheering, crowd chanting "build that wall"]

Sarah Silverman Attacks 'Too Far Gone' White Women Who Voted For Trump - Duration: 3:37.

Comedian Sarah Silverman attacked white women who voted for President Donald Trump in the

2016 presidential election, calling them "too far gone."

She also insulted Trump by referring to him as, "President Dumb Sh*t."

During a segment on her Hulu series "I Love You, America," Silverman said she wasn't

worried about the women who voted for the president and that she was only focused on

young people for November's midterm elections.

"God, I wish I could get through to the 52 percent of white women who put Trump in

office, but they're too far gone, so instead I am looking to young people," Silverman

said.

Later in the show, Silverman attacked the appearance of newly appointed Supreme Court

Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

"If I think of his frowny pink face and his Pert Plus hair one more time I'm gonna

puke," she said.

Silverman has attacked Kavanaugh on social media countless times since he was nominated

by Trump.

Aside from many of her comments asserting he was unqualified for the Supreme Court,

two reports from both the FBI and Senate indicated that there was no evidence to support allegations

that Kavanaugh was sexually inappropriate toward women in the 1980s.

The self-described progressive then called on young people to get out and vote in November's

midterm elections.

She said if young people don't want to listen to her, they should listen to what singer

Taylor Swift recently said.

"I know you don't want to hear this from me, your Auntie Sarah — who happens to have

a cherry bomb of a caboose, by the way—so take it from your buddy, Taylor Swift.

Yes, Taylor's a little late to the game and waited until the American leg of her tour

was over to speak up but hey, better late than never, ever, getting back together, f**k,

her songs are so catchy, look what you made me do."

Earlier this week, Swift made headlines when she announced via Instagram that she was endorsing

two Tennessee Democrats, Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and House of Representatives

candidate Jim Cooper.

Here's part of Swift's post:

"I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based

on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG.

I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color

is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.

I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans,

no matter their skin color, gender or who they love."

Silverman has made it clear on numerous occasions that she's a progressive who supports Independent

Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

She has also issued a number of controversial tweets, where just last weekend she wrote

that she had fantasized about President Donald Trump being "held down" and violated."

"I hope you someday understand what it is to be held down against your will and violated.

Your compassion is startless," she wrote.

Silverman closed out her segment by insulting Trump.

"You know who should shut up?

Tax dodgers.

Which would be great, because then we wouldn't have to hear from big fat President Dumb Sh*t."

Second Kim-Trump summit will take place in next couple of months: Bolton - Duration: 1:44.

One of the top officials in the U.S. government has reiterated that North Korean leader Kim

Jong-un and President Trump will hold their second face-to-face after the U.S. midterm

elections in early November.

Indications are that it will happen before the end of the year.

Cha Sang-mi has more.

As the two sides work behind the scenes to set up a highly-anticipated second summit

between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump, U.S. National Security

Advisor John Bolton has reaffirmed the U.S. leader's earlier statement on his plans.

Speaking in a radio interview with the Hugh Hewitt Show that aired on Friday, local time,...

Bolton said he thinks the summit will take place (quote) "sometime in the next couple

of months," but it depends on President Trump's diplomatic efforts to convince North Korea

to give up its nuclear weapons.

Bolton said President Trump "held the door open for North Korea", since the two leaders

met for the first time in Singapore in June and said were the regime to "denuclearize

completely and irreversibly" and "walk through the door, the future could be very different

for the North Korean people."

Bolton, known for his hawkish foreign policy outlook, told Hewitt that the combination

of the potential use of military force and the U.S.-led maximum pressure campaign on

the North's economy is what brought Kim to the table.

He also said President Trump was optimistic about his administration's relations with

the North, but he doesn't see stars in Trump's eyes about it,.. and that was the same for

him, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

Bolton's remarks come after President Trump recently told reporters that the summit will

be held after the November 6th midterms.

Trump also said three or four locations are being considered for the summit venue, but

they probably won't be heading back to Singapore.

Cha Sang-mi, Arirang News.

Donald Trump vows 'severe punishment' if Saudi Arabia murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi - Duration: 8:38.

Donald Trump has vowed "severe punishment" for Saudi Arabia if it is proven that the kingdom was responsible for murdering Jamal Khashoggi, the missing journalist

The US president said he was "very upset and angry" about the case and indicated that he was not fully convinced by the Saudis' repeated claims of innocence

"Could it be them? Yes," he said. "In the not too distant future I think we'll know an answer," Trump told CBS News in an a "60 Minutes" interview that will air on Sunday

"We're going to get to the bottom of it and there will be severe punishment."  Mr Khashoggi, who would have turned 60 on Saturday, has not been seen since he went into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2

Turkish officials claim to have tapes of Saudi operatives torturing and murdering Mr Khashoggi, possibly recorded by the journalist's own Apple Watch

Saudi Arabia has vehemently denied involvement in the journalists' disappearance

While Mr Trump said he would punish Saudi Arabia, he said he would not cancel arms sales to the kingdom in response, as a bipartisan group of US senators have demanded

"I don't want to hurt jobs," he said.   Mr Trump, who has previously referred to journalists as "enemies of the people", said it was "really terrible and disgusting" that a journalist had been targeted

Sources close to the royal court said the inner circle of Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi crown prince, was shocked at the speed and intensity at which global anger over Mr Khashoggi's disappearance turned towards Saudi Arabia

After eleven days of issuing blanket denials of responsibility but offering little evidence of its innocence, the Saudi government is now trying to chart a more proactive course to deal with the fallout while also trying to shield Crown Prince Mohammed's own reputation

The crown prince has summoned home the Saudi ambassador in Washington, his younger brother Prince Khalid bin Salman, a former fighter pilot, for consultations on how to appease both the White House and Congress

He also dispatched a team of Saudi officials to Ankara to meet with the Turkish government as part of a newly-formed "joint working group" to look into what happened to Mr Khashoggi

The Saudi government is pointing to the joint group as evidence it is taking the situation seriously and hopes that the appearance of an investigative process will buy some time in the short term

In a statement on Saturday, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, the Saudi interior minister, "praised the cooperation with the brothers in Turkey through the Joint Investigation Commission and other official channels"

His statement, which also denounced the "lies and baseless allegations" against the kingdom, was the first public comment by a Saudi minister since the crisis began on October 2

A theory discussed in pro-Saudi circles is that Riyadh will try to get the Turks to agree to a joint statement explaining Mr Khashoggi's death in a way that causes minimal damage to Crown Prince Mohammed

One possibility is to say Mr Khashoggi died of a heart attack inside the consulate and his body was hidden by panicked diplomatic staff

It is not clear that Turkey could agree to a sanitised version of events, given that Turkish officials have leaked lurid claims to the press of Saudi spies and soldiers allegedly murdering Mr Khashoggi

But Turkey has not made any official allegations nor presented any public evidence, leaving some diplomatic room for a compromise

Ties between Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been strained in recent years but neither regional power wants a complete breakdown in relations and a joint statement could offer a way out

If Turkey refuses to go along and presents proof that Mr Khashoggi was murdered, the Saudi government may try to blame the killing on rogue elements of the security services and say Crown Prince Mohammed did not know of their plans

Turkish officials told Middle East Eye they suspected Saudi Arabia may take this course

"It is not a feasible option, but at present, it looks like it's the only option and one that might head off the Senate's pursuit of the Global Magnitsky Act," Dr Neil Quilliam, senior research fellow at Chatham House

US senators of both parties have banded together to trigger an investigation under the Global Magnitsky Act, a US law named after a Russian accountant murdered by the Kremlin

The law forces the White House to investigate suspected kidnappings and killings by foreign governments and to consider sanctions

The senators have said the probe should look at whether the "highest ranking officials in the government of Saudi Arabia" were involved in Mr Khashoggi's death

Blaming the security services comes with its own risks. Turkey may demand Saudi Arabia hand over the alleged killers for prosecution, potentially causing a backlash for Crown Prince Mohammed at home

The prince would also be loath to say publicly that he was not fully in charge of the Saudi military

"He would face the question: does this guy have control over his own security forces? That in some ways is a worse question for MBS to face," said Richard Lebaron, non-resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council

For now, the government looks set to hunker down and try to get through the Riyadh summit, scheduled for October 23

They will have been heartened to see that Christine Lagarde, the head of the IMF, said she still planned to attend the summit even though she was "horrified" by reports of Mr Khashoggi's death

MSNBC's Ali Velshi Fact Checks And Destroys Trump's Healthcare Lies - Duration: 2:20.

>>> Hope you're sitting down for

this.

President trump is being accused

of making false claims about

health care, blasting Democrats

in an op-ed that was written in

the newspaper just weeks before

midterm voting begins so for

fact's sake let's break down

what's true and not.

Trump is claiming the Democrats

medicare for all ends medicare

as we know it and take benefits

away that seniors have paid for

for their entire lives.

That's just not true.

While the plan would change

medicare to include everyone,

and I think we have to talk

about this without endorsing it,

it expands benefits without

premiums and deductibles and

adding dental, vision and

hearing aid coverage.

Trump claiming the plan to quote

cost astonishing $32.6 trillion

in the first 10 years.

Guess what.

His claim is true.

According to two separate

analysis of senator Sanders

proposal, however, supporters

say this number doesn't paint

the full picture because new

federal spending, this $32.6

trillion, would replace all

existing premiums and

deductibles for everyone in the

country.

So it's $32.6 trillion versus

what?

There's a lot of debate about

the cost to compare to our

current system.

One of the analysis found the

total health care spending,

public and private, would

actually drop by $2 trillion in

1 scenario if the bill is law.

It requires a major increase in

taxes.

That part is true.

But then you wouldn't be paying

premiums.

Speaking of premiums, the

president claims they're coming

down.

That is a whopper.

That's false.

The Kaiser family foundation

says the average premium for a

single person up 3% while the

average family premium is up 5%.

There aren't a lot of worlds in

which the premiums going down

and assume when somebody says

the premiums are going down

that's a lie and Kaiser said

premiums are expected to

stabilize next year partially

because insurers spiked the

prices last year.

Trump claimed he kept the

promise to protect coverage for

pre-existing conditions.

lot of times it's just the overall lack of reparations that we at any given

point we say oh this is races this is races this is race this is races so we

don't have a reparations but we have in 13th of May we gotta open up the whole

conversation so and that's a move one of the moves that I love that liberals

tried to do the liberal will try to control a black person through the

concept of racism because they know that we are very proud of emotional people so

when I said I like Trump to like someone that's liberal they'll say oh but these

races you think races okay control me I will stop an invisible wall you have one

question we don't go to another question I answered this question I don't answer

question it's a simple assignment soundbite you you are tasting a fine

wine I have multiple notes into it you gotta play 40 chess with me like a

Minority Report region ain't that simple

Chicago's on time so I would like to know what you would like to ask

President Trump to to force the club over here to talk about the thing that

that the head of the police and Mike Sachs met with me last night at the Soho

House about was we feel that stop and frisk does not help the relationships in

the city and everyone that knew I was coming here said asked about stop and

frisk that's that's that's a the number one thing that we're having this

conversation about another thing is opening up industries and we've got to

get some tax breaks too because you know we're making a we got a speed Factory in

Atlanta but the shoes are costing us $300 so it's costing us - too much to

make things so we need some prototypes here so we can get people back working

so China kid just beat us and Vietnam can't beat us get Levi's the greatest

jeans company in the world making their jeans in and Vietnam so we're going to

need to get a few breaks to be able to have some places in my hometown of

Chicago and 2.7 million to the 9 million surrounding suburbs where we can create

some factories that I think it'll be cool for them to be Trump factories

because he's a master of industry he's a builder and I think it'd be cool to have

easy ideation centers which would be a mix of education that empowers people

and gives them modern information like sometimes people say this can't have a

DG this could have a DD you know II think school is boring it was born it's

not as exciting is this we have to make it you don't have ATT school is boring

it was boring that is exciting is this we have to make it more excited we have

to mix curriculums just play basketball while you're doing math you you learn

about music while you meditate in the morning we have to in state mental

health and art programs back into the back to the city so those are and also

Larry Hoover is an example of a man that was turning his life around and as soon

as he tried to turn his life around they hit him with six life sentences so

I believe he's Rick you stay don't tear down the statues Larry Hoover is a

living statue he's a beacon for us that needs to see

his family needs to go out and represent when you

have a block leader on every single block they can own the block is now

that's something I learned from Jim Brown from a mayor I can we need to put

curriculums but people who really came from the streets not people who are just

trying to set us up to go into a work system or prison system that applies to

what people are really going through which Jim Brown has created the problem

is unbelievable goods illegal guns is the problem not not not legal guns we

have the right to bear arms president Trump has said that he favors stop and

frisk are you guys gonna be discussing that do

you think even changed yet with that we're gonna discuss I didn't mean to put

you on my ass like that bro could speak for me anytime he wants he's been a

great guy smart cookie smart he gets it he's two guys Jim Brown he's been doing

this for a long time could very well be

good and the thing is let's stop worrying about the future all we really

have is today we just have today over and over and over again the eternal

returns of the hero's journey but best believe we are going to make America

great now the thing is my another thing is black people have an issue with the

word again and I believe my feelings from that is because I'm so sorry I

don't go all the way signal it because time is a minute all we have is now all

we have is today so the word again is it Curtis because I give racism and say

there's a difference it it hurts us because we need to focus on who we are

now today I believe so I actually brought some hats in that have a bit of

a transition of it that trumpets I love it

I made a hat up that says make America great just that but I would love to see

at the Super Bowl Trump wearing the big America great hat Colin

making win make America great and showing that we

can benefit on this side we can benefit on this side and we can learn how to be

malleable in the infinite universe that we are in the loving beings that we are

that we don't have to stick to all traditions and we are a side we are one

unit we are one country where one moment in history inside you might have been

here before but right now we've been together the greatest value that people

have of other people and we can stop working on bread it looks like a gang

again thank you this question you're in the Oval Office

okay how does it feel to be in the Oval Office oh it is good energy in there is

a good energy it's a great place Jim how do you feel you're so respected and what

Kanye is doing has been incredible all over the world they're talking about

this and I have to tell you had important meetings today with senators

and with everything nobody cared they wanted this meeting this is the meeting

is that right I can say that the job no the others were good right but this is

what they want well it's my honor Jim I want to tell you I've been a fan of

yours for a long time long time nobody like you nobody like you no athlete like

you well and you know that's always been the way Jim has been a long time and he

just wanted to help and it's it's something special Jennifer did you have

a question well we're gonna look at it up I'm open to everything I look I think

it's a shame what's happening in Chicago I'm in Chicago a lot too I have nice

things in Chicago you know that right and I hate to see what's happening there

having numbers the numbers of people being shot and killed and it's it's not

it's not for this country so they have to do something and I am totally open if

we can do it a different way Kayne I'm totally open

but they have to do I mean we all agree they have to do something that's well

maybe it's a combination of both yeah I guess it is but I think it's probably a

combination of both and it's also a respect issue they respect this guy they

respect this guy that's a big thing right now they're not respecting let's

say you're mayor or let's say your leadership in Chicago but certainly it

shouldn't be happening what's going on there should not be happening Steve

honestly from our standpoint this was just set up to be a lunch of two people

that I like and I guess they like me and we're gonna have lunch we're gonna talk

I don't want to put you in that spot standing in that's why I love this guy

right here let me get this guy I love this guy right here yeah yes it's

really good and that's from the heart I didn't want to put you in that position

that's from the heart special guy these two are special people whether you

like it or the adult like it they're special people and I appreciate it Jim

Connie I appreciate it so let's go have some lunch okay thank

you all very much they talk scared to not wear this hat my

old friends but this hat it gives you it gives me power away

I love Hillary I love everyone right but the campaign I'm with her just didn't

make me know that the guy they didn't get to see my dad all the time like a

guy that could play catch with his son it was something about when I put this

hat off and make me feel like Superman you made a Superman I wasn't that's my

favorite superhero and you made a Superman cape that was quite something

Lois quit show some love this guy right here let me get this guy

I love this guy right here that was quite something the words of President

Trump in the Oval Office today Kanye West expressing his support among other

things and that's where we'll start with our panel

Josh cross cross cross our political editor for the National Journal Amy

Walter national editor for the cook political reported by Hemingway senior

editor at The Federalist couldn't get it out there Josh

that was something today too in the words of President Trump what does that

do I mean it was a surreal moment on TV we hadn't seen anything like that in the

Oval Office what do you think it does for president Trump or the election in

any way it certainly was a surreal moment and President Trump loves

celebrity yeah Mike love of the Beach Boys he had a few other celebrities in

the White House today but you know it reminded me that this could be a lost

opportunity for for president Trump if he focused on criminal justice reform

which is why Kanye West was at the White House in the first place that could have

been an opportunity opportunity early on in his presidency to expand his

coalition to win over some African Americans to the Trump side I mean it

really was sort of an amazing moment where you had one of the most famous

African American celebrities really just hugging a president Trump but it feels

like it's a little late in the game for that and it doesn't feel like this came

at the right time for this president there's certainly some opportunity was

we get closer to the midterms for Trump to build some new supporters but I don't

think he's gonna really move the needle a whole lot politically Molly it was

interesting when he just said there something about putting on the hat gives

him power and I think there is something in our culture where there's a lot of

criticism of being a conservative a ton of criticism for being a Trump supporter

but if you can withstand that criticism there is something empowering about it

and I think that what's interesting yeah Kanye's interesting he's always

interesting he says things in a weird way certainly but I think the reason why

you're seeing so much negative reaction is because of some of the things that

Josh is raising you have a very prominent black celebrity aligning

himself with the president and there is something very threatening about that

not just in terms of celebrity but also in race issues and you're seeing a lot

of polls where you have like tons of Hispanics supporting Ted Cruz tons of

Hispanics supporting Dean Heller Donald Trump himself got more black votes than

Mitt Romney there's something that people feel very nervous

about when people do not play the parts they're supposed to to that point some

other commentators weighing in on what was going to happen today with Kanye

West Kanye West is what happens when Negroes don't read now all of a sudden

Kanye because he's put on a magic hat and he's an attention whore like the

president he's all of a sudden now the the model spokesperson he's the token

negro of the of the Trump administration

will try to control a black person through the concept of racism because

they know that we are very proud of emotional people so when I said I like

Trump to like someone that's liberal they'll say oh but these races you think

racism can control me I mean it's such an explosive thing to talk about but Amy

how does this play I just think we are back where we've always been in the

discussion of to America is in a polarized America and that's really

where a lot of this discussion I agree with Josh it didn't really spend a whole

bunch of time talking about the issues that we thought we're gonna get raised

Kim Kardashian and his wife of course came in and actually talked about issues

related to criminal justice reform instead this becomes about which team

are you on are you gonna be on the red magnet cat team or are you gonna be on

the other team and the entire Trump presidency has been basically

about picking your side picking your team and for Kanye to put the red hat on

then he literally is saying I'm going against my team and there's a backlash

to that in the same way that Republicans who have said or people who were

normally red going to the blue team they get the criticism for doing that there

is nothing left there is no middle there's not going to be a middle and

this election is just going to I think further get us into these deep deep deep

polar polarized world we've been talking about tribalism for a while but I mean

earlier this morning Donald Trump called into Fox & Friends and he had a lengthy

conversation about criminal justice reform and he was referencing Kanye's

appearances well and it was because of Chania coming to visit Kim came to the

came to the Oval Office and it's kind of like you're thinking what are these

celebrity doing there she actually was very

effective at commuting at getting that sentence commuted but these are

conversations that people are having now and it's good to see them on the right

because criminal justice reform has been something that previously people just on

the Left seem to talk about a lot you're seeing a lot of really good developments

in terms of questions about mandatory minimums and and how we how we

adjudicate various cases and this is happening because he gets because of

these well the biggest impediment to this actually is sitting in his cabinet

and that's Jeff Sessions Republicans want to pass this they have the votes in

the Senate to pass this who may not be for long after general is the real

reason why a lot of this stuff isn't getting done

I want to thank you god bless you and God bless america
