Trump news on Youtube Oct 1 2018

At a rally in Wheeling, West Virginia, on Saturday, President Donald Trump blasted California

Sen. Dianne Feinstein's behavior during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, saying that she had evinced "the worst body language

I've ever seen" when asked about whether she leaked Christine Blasey Ford's letter.

Trump was in Wheeling to support state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, the Republican challenger

to Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin this November.

While the November election factored heavily in Trump's speech, he also delivered strong

support for Kavanaugh and hammered Feinstein over how she handled the issue of who leaked

the letter containing Ford's accusation that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her

some time in the early 1980s.

(Kavanaugh has repeatedly, emphatically denied the accusation.)

"When you look at releases and leaks, and then they say, 'Oh, I didn't do it, I

didn't do it,'" Trump told the audience.

"Remember Dianne Feinstein," he said, eliciting a shower of boos from the audience.

"Did you leak?

Remember her answer.

Did you leak the document?

'Uh, what?

No, uh, no, I didn't leak.

Well, wait one minute.

Did we leak?

Oh, oh.

No, we didn't leak,'" he continued, shaking his hands for effect.

"I'll tell you what, that was really bad body language," Trump continued.

"Maybe she didn't do it, but that was the worst body language I've ever seen."

That wasn't quite Feinstein's exact reaction, although the president's interpretation

charitably left out the part where the senator lamed Christine Blasey Ford's friends.

"I was given some information by a woman who was very much afraid, who asked that it

be held confidential, and I held it confidential until she decided that she would come forward,"

Feinstein said during the hearings.

When asked directly whether her staff leaked it, she responded, "I have not asked that

question directly, but I do not believe — the answer is no.

The staff, they did not."

Later, Feinstein said that "(i)t's my understanding that her story was leaked before

the letter became public, and she testified that she had spoken to her friends about it

and it's most likely that that's how the story leaked, and she had been asked by press."

That's actually contradicted by the original report in The Intercept, which made it clear

the information likely came from Democrat sources in Congress.

Either way, since we're judging body language so much these days — particularly if getting

angry over being accused of being a rapist is a tell that you've done something wrong,

a popular theory among Democrats these past few days — judging Feinstein's body language

is certainly appropriate.

Trump also used the speech to deliver support for his nominee.

"A vote to confirm Kavanaugh is a vote to confirm one of the most accomplished legal

minds of our time," Trump told the audience.

The president also made clear that the midterms were crucial to his agenda.

"We are just five weeks away from one of the most important congressional elections

in our lifetimes," Trump said.

"This one of the big — in other words, that's true I'm not running, but I'm

really running."

He added that the Democrats are "determined to take back power by using any means necessary.

You see the meanness, the nastiness, they don't care who they hurt, who they have

to run over in order to get power and control."

That's something that would be difficult to deny.

Just ask Brett Kavanaugh — or for that matter, Christine Blasey Ford's friends.

Both the judge and Ford's close acquaintances can lay claim to having been thrown under

the many buses departing the Dianne Feinstein terminal.

I can guarantee they won't be the last individuals to experience that kind of treatment before

Nov. 6.

Michelle Obama Complains About 'Pettiness' While Taking Veiled Shot at Trump - Duration: 3:23.

Political tone-deafness is a major problem in America today … and one of the most out-of-touch

statements just came from former first lady Michelle Obama.

On Friday, the same woman whose husband ushered in one of the most divisive eras in political

history went on a rant about "pettiness and meanness" as she gave a speech at the

University of Miami.

"I am tired of the daily chaos, the pettiness, the meanness that too often dominates the

political discourse," the former first lady lectured, likely taking a veiled shot at President

Donald Trump.

Obama seemed completely clueless about how hypocritical she sounded.

Maybe she hasn't been paying attention to the news.

After all, it is her own party which has been leading the chaos recently.

Just a few days ago, a leftist mob forced Republican Sen. Ted Cruz to flee a restaurant,

after hounding and confronting him as he tried to enjoy an evening out with his wife.

Before that, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family ended up in

a similar situation, when she was forced to leave a Virginia restaurant.

Black conservative commentator Candace Owens was attacked and shouted out of a restaurant

by unhinged liberals, in a scene that — ironically enough — seemed ripped from the pre-civil

rights era.

But Michelle Obama is oh-so-concerned about "pettiness and meanness" … that is,

of course, unless it's her side doing it.

The former first lady stayed strangely silent when fellow Democrat Maxine Waters called

for liberals to stalk and harass conservatives anywhere they could find them, even as they

try to pump gas.

Then there's the long list of divisive statements that Barack Obama made during his eight years

as president.

Let's not forget the time he mocked conservatives as "bitter" people who "cling to guns

or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them" in a gaffe so appalling that

even Hillary Clinton called it "demeaning" and "out of touch."

Of course, Clinton herself didn't learn the lesson, and contributed to pettiness almost

a decade later by calling anybody who didn't vote for her "deplorable."

Even this past week, a Democratic senator told people who disagree with her to "shut

up" as her own party played games with a woman's personal life, all in an attempt

to destroy the career of public servant and family man Brett Kavanaugh.

But remember, it's Michelle Obama who is lecturing the other side about petty discourse.

Somebody get this woman a mirror.

The reality is that the left doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to worrying

about politeness in politics.

They've been slinging mud for decades — and the Trump era has only sent them more over

the edge, with extremist groups like "antifa" the latest symptom of their rhetoric.

It would be a lot easier to take Obama's message seriously if her own side didn't

have such an appalling track record.

There is room to rise above dirty politics, but until Democrats change their tune, they

will remain firmly part of the problem.

Trump Was RIGHT! Kavanaugh FBI Investigation Was HUGE Win – It's All Happening Now! - Duration: 7:52.

Trump Was RIGHT!

Kavanaugh FBI Investigation Was HUGE Win – It's All Happening Now!

The controversy surrounding Judge Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination process has swept

the media outlets.

Now the FBI is investigating after the Senate Judiciary Committee had their own hearings

on the matter.

However, in the end, it could serve to help the Republican Party in general during the

mid-term elections.

A new poll for Gallup has statistically shown that Republicans' enthusiasm has been rising

just five weeks before the election.

This puts them neck and neck with Democrats who were leading just mere weeks ago.

The poll reported, "Sixty-one percent of Democrats and Democratic leaners and 58% of

Republicans and Republican leaners say they are more enthusiastic about voting in November

compared to prior elections."

Daily Wire reported,

"These levels roughly match Republicans' record-high enthusiasm in 2010, Barack Obama's

first midterm, when the GOP won a whopping 63 seats.

But this is the first time in Gallup's trend since 1994 that both parties have expressed

high enthusiasm," Gallup reported.

Most fascinating in the poll is the comparison to 2010.

In the first mid-terms since Obama was elected — and the first after the passage of Obamacare

without a single GOP vote — Democrats got shellacked, losing 63 seats in the House of

Representatives, the largest seat change since 1948 and the largest for any midterm election

since the 1938 mid-term elections.

Republicans also picked up six seats in the Senate.

The rout was even worse across the country: the GOP gained 680 seats in state legislative

races, breaking the previous record of 628 set by Democrats in 1974 after the Watergate

scandal.

And that was before the partisan hearings of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh this

past Thursday but after his three-day hearing.

The poll was conducted Sept. 17-23.

Gallup also showed that enthusiasm is running high among all adults.

"Americans' enthusiasm for voting in November is significantly higher than it was in the

prior six midterm election years.

Fifty-five percent of U.S. adults say they are 'more enthusiastic' about voting than

usual, which contrasts with between 37% and 50% saying the same in Gallup's final pre-election

surveys each midterm year from 1994 through 2014.

Currently, 33% say they are 'less enthusiastic.'"

Gallup reported.

Gallup's poll followed one by NBC and The Wall Street Journal last week.

The Journal said, "The poll, while outlining challenges for the GOP, included some good

news for Republicans.

The party is closing an enthusiasm gap, with 61 percent of Republican voters now expressing

high interest in the election, nearly matching the 65 percent of Democrats.

In polls taken over the first eight months of the year, Democrats had held an aggregate

12-point advantage in the share of supporters showing high interest in the election."

Politico reported,

"President Donald Trump on Saturday cast the FBI probe into his Supreme Court nominee's

alleged history of sexual misconduct as a potential "blessing in disguise," appearing

optimistic that federal agents would absolve Brett Kavanaugh of the accusations several

women have lodged against him over the past month.

"It will be a good thing," the president said of the bureau's reopened background

check into Kavanaugh, according to a pool report.

Trump authorized the inquiry Friday after a dramatic meeting of the Senate Judiciary

Committee, at which Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) joined the panel's Democrats in demanding

a one-week investigation of an allegation by Christine Blasey Ford ahead of a full vote

by the chamber on whether to confirm Kavanaugh to the high court.

The president also said he expects the investigation to be completed ahead of schedule, and emphasized

that law enforcement officials "have free rein" to pursue whatever leads they desire

to uncover the truth.

"They can do whatever they have to do, whatever it is that they do.

They'll be doing things we have never even thought of," Trump said.

"And hopefully, at the conclusion, everything will be fine."

Trump's remarks Saturday follow a report by NBC News — citing unnamed sources — that

the White House is limiting the scope of the FBI's inquiry.

Trump moved to rebut that story in a tweet late Saturday evening.

"NBC News incorrectly reported (as usual) that I was limiting the FBI investigation

of Judge Kavanaugh, and witnesses, only to certain people," he wrote online.

"Actually, I want them to interview whoever they deem appropriate, at their discretion.

Please correct your reporting!"

Kavanaugh has faced intense scrutiny since multiple women came forward accusing him of

sexual misconduct.

And in a dramatic hearing this week, Ford told senators in powerful testimony that she's

100 percent certain Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than 30 years ago.

The judge vehemently — and at times angrily — denied the accusation.

At a rally Saturday evening in West Virginia, Trump's invocations of Kavanaugh served

more to demonize congressional Democrats than hype the prospect of a majority conservative

court.

of the Democrat Party — mean obstructionists, mean resisters," Trump added, lamenting

attacks on Kavanaugh's character.

"I will tell you, he has suffered — the meanness, the anger," Trump said."

Officials with the White House have been cautiously optimistic about the chances of Judge Kavanaugh

getting confirmed.

Some have admitted anonymously that the situation was complicated.

Other officials have said that President Trump might be considering a new nominee given the

chances that Judge Kavanaugh will not be confirmed.

Trump Admin Says Planet Is Burning Down, So Let's Just Ruin It Now - Duration: 3:21.

Last month, the Trump Administration put out a 500-page environmental impact statement

that actually acknowledged the fact that human beings are destroying the planet, that climate

change is having all these negative effects, and, more importantly, that we as a planet

can expect a seven degree Fahrenheit increase in average global temperatures by the year

2100.

That is probably one of the most dire reports on the effects of climate change and how intense

it's going to be that we have ever seen and it actually came from the Trump Administration,

but unfortunately until reporters at The Washington Post, including Chris Mooney, decided to report

this, really nobody even knew it existed.

You would think though that the administration, having this information in front of them showing

that we are burning down this planet, surely that would be enough to make them say, "All

right, you know what?

I guess we got to do something.

We got to protect the environment.

Everybody's going to burn up.

This is going to be horrible."

Scientists tell us that even a seven degree global average temperature increase is going

to be catastrophic for human life, animal life, environment, everything on this planet,

and that's just seven degrees.

The Trump Administration looked at that, and they said, "Huh.

Oh well.

I guess we'll just go ahead and lower fuel economy standards, because there's nothing

we can do to save the planet now."

Here's the problem with that assessment, because that is exactly what the administration [inaudible].

They're trying to use this new report to show hey, it doesn't matter if we destroy the environment

because we've only got about 80 habitable years left on this planet anyway, so let's

just burn it all down right now, but they're ignoring the fact that the actual report says

at current rates, meaning if everything stayed the same, these are the effects that we would

be looking at by the year 2100.

If we reduce emissions, which the Trump Administration's doing the opposite.

They're increasing emissions.

If we reduce emissions, then we don't have to worry about that scenario.

Maybe we can push it back another two, 300 years, reduce them further, and then it'll

never happen, but the Trump Administration I guess didn't read that far into the report,

because they're actually using it out there as justification to say, "Listen, the planet's

burning down.

There is nothing we can do about it, so why not pump all the gas you can right now, just

burn it, burn it, burn it.

Let's reduce fuel economy.

Maybe we can bring on the apocalypse a little bit sooner so that we all, people alive today,

get to witness it, because wouldn't that be pretty cool, folks?"

That's what the Trump Administration is basically doing right now.

They have this 500-page report in their hands showing that this is the worst-case scenario

if things do not change, and so the Trump Administration looks at it, analyzes it, and

says, "You know what?

Let's just go ahead and not change because the planet's burning down, and we're going

to have a major party to celebrate."

That's what's happening in Washington, D.C. today.

Trump Says UN Was Laughing WITH Him, Diplomats Say The Opposite Is True - Duration: 3:42.

So obviously by now everybody knows that Donald Trump went to the United Nations earlier this

week, gave his speech, everybody laughed at him in the General Assembly when he started

talking about how great and successful he's been as president.

About a day later, Trump was asked about that, and he said, "No, no, no, no, no.

They weren't laughing at me.

They were all laughing with me.

We were all joking around.

We were having a great time.

It was fun.

They all love me, but more importantly, they were laughing with me, not at me."

He was adamant that we know they weren't laughing at him, even though when he made the comment

he then had to wait for the laughter to stop and said, "I didn't expect that response."

They were laughing at you, and that's not speculation either.

That's literally what they've been telling reporters since you gave that speech.

BuzzFeed News actually talked to several of the diplomats who happen to be in that room

with their delegations, and they admitted 100% we weren't laughing with him.

We were absolutely laughing at him.

Here is what one Latin American diplomat had to say.

"Sometimes when we see a behavior or listen to arguments or notions that seem so far-fetched,

unreasonable, or insane, there is almost natural reaction of laughing."

Went on to add, "It is not laughing at a good joke, but a nervous laugh, or a bad joke turn

laughable precisely because the guy who tells the joke doesn't realize how bad it is."

That pretty much sums up Donald Trump, right?

We had another European diplomat who said, "What would resonate well at a political rally

in America sounded a little awkward at the UN General Assembly.

His words in the opening part of the speech were clearly addressed to a domestic audience,

but as he did it in the Trumpian way, bragging ridiculously about being one of the best administrations

in history, people in the audience reacted how they reacted."

We can now confirm pretty easily that yes, they think Donald Trump is a liar.

As the Latin American diplomat there said, he used the word insane to describe what Trump

did.

Not necessarily saying that Trump is insane, but that what he did there was absolutely

insane.

Then the European diplomat who comes out and said, "Why is he telling us this?

This was nuts.

Yeah, I'm sure that would work great in a rally, but you're at the UN.

Not only is it irrelevant, but we don't care and we don't believe you anyway.

Can we please just get down to business?"

This is one of the reasons why Donald Trump is such an ineffective leader on the world

stage, because he has no interest in international affairs, or diplomacy with other countries.

He just wants to talk about him.

He just wants it to be about him, and he wants everybody else on the planet to care as much

about his alleged victories as he does, even though really the man has such a short list

of victories that he could carry it around on a tiny Post-It note and just show people,

but that's not who he is.

This guy is all about Donald Trump and that is that classic narcissism that we see coming

out of him every time he gets on the global stage.

As long as this man is president and able to go out there and speak to foreign dignitaries

in places like the UN, and the G7, and all of that, as long as he's doing that, he is

going to continue to be a national embarrassment, and worse, a laughing stock around the rest

of the world.

Trump About To Drop MOAB On Armed Leftist Mobs' 'Violent' Strikes Ahead Of Kavanaugh Confirmation - Duration: 4:47.

Trump About To Drop MOAB On Armed Leftist Mobs' 'Violent' Strikes Ahead Of Kavanaugh

Confirmation

From the very beginning of all of this, the threats of violence, intimidation, and harassment

have come from the left.

Remember that as this continues to devolve into actual confrontations.

It would make no difference who was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Trump.

Something similar to what is happening now would play out and it probably won't end

well.

Leftists, such as Antifa and Smash Racism DC, are now calling for violence if Brett

Kavanaugh is ultimately confirmed to the Supreme Court as an associate justice.

The below threads base their call for violent strikes ahead of or after Kavanaugh's confirmation

on the overturning of Roe vs. Wade which legalized abortion.

That's just an excuse though.

They plan to get their violence on regardless I would imagine.

It's what they do.

Immediately after Thursday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Judge Kavanaugh and

his accuser, leftists on Twitter began discussing the need for a "violent general strike"

if he were to be confirmed.

There is a good possibility they might not even wait that long.

These threats come just days after Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and his wife Heidi were surrounded

by Smash Racism DC in a DC restaurant and threatened.

After that, the group proceeded to make credible threats against the lives of Senator Cruz,

Judge Kavanaugh, President Trump, and others from their Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Crickets in the media.

However, I take them at their word and I find this very alarming.

The original tweet and thread on this came from someone who has a large following on

Twitter.

Emily Gorcenski is a Data Scientist and a left-wing activist.

She proceeded to ask her 32,000 followers if the confirmation of Kavanaugh would finally

be enough for them to organize a "violent general strike," not just a "general strike"

but a violent one.

Emily is a very outspoken supporter of Antifa and she's all in for their violent tactics.

The woman claims to be an anarchist but naturally gravitates towards communism.

Emily also supports Smash Racism DC, the violent group that surrounded Cruz and his wife and

threatened them.

Emily seems to be very much like most on the left, spouting the same kind of rhetoric you

hear from them.

But as I said, she has a large following on Twitter and she is one of only 3,641 people

that is followed by Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey and one of 503 people followed by the Southern

Poverty Law Center's "Hate Watch" account.

A number of her followers seem to be enthused by her call to violence against the right.

From Far Left Watch:

"One Twitter user, claiming to be a member of the far-left militia organization, Redneck

Revolt, quote tweeted Emily saying that he "didn't join Redneck revolt for no reason",

the implication, of course, being that he is "down" for armed political violence.

"Redneck Revolt is mostly comprised of Communist, Socialists, and other far-left activists.

They claim to have over 30 active cells nationwide and until recently they offered a downloadable

guerrilla warfare manual on their website that included sections on "kidnapping",

"executions", and "terrorism".

"The recent spike in violent rhetoric from the far-left is not a departure from the norm,

it is a return to it.

Far-left political ideologies, like all forms of authoritarianism, are fully dependent on

the use of violence from their proponents and ultimately from the state which they always

seek to expand and grant more centralized power.

Considering that just over a year ago a far-left extremist opened fire on a GOP Congressional

baseball practice game, I sincerely hope our reporting results in an investigation by the

authorities."

The Democrats fully support Antifa and others such as Smash Racism DC.

Democratic Socialists of America are also in that mix that is supported by the left.

Several of their members were just elected to office as Democrats.

This is certainly not the first time that Antifa has called for violence.

They just recently called for the killing of border enforcement as well.

From Newsweek:

"An Antifa activist compared the Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the Gestapo and

called for the slaughter of "the fascistic Border Patrol dogs and their bosses."

"In an article published on Thursday on the far-left website Incendiary News, Antifa

activist Ulrike Salazar compared ICE officers to "shadowy Gestapo agents" who "take

away young boys and girls, tear apart families, throw away undesirables into dark and cramped

dungeons."

"The author also wrote that he hopes this "chapter in American history will also include

the moment when revolutionaries rose up with the masses and slaughtered the fascistic Border

Patrol dogs and their bosses, slaying them with revolutionary fire and justice."

Watch for President Trump to come down hard on these violent leftists should they pull

anything they threaten.

They won't know what hit them.

Donald Trump Shut Down The Attacks On Brett Kavanaugh With These Three Words - Duration: 3:29.

Donald Trump is fed up with the smears against Brett

Kavanaugh.

Democrats and their allies in the media think they can kill his nomination.

But Donald Trump shut down the attacks with these three words.

Democrats And The Media Smear Kavanaugh Democrats and the media spent one week smearing

Brett Kavanaugh.

They ran with Christine Ford's flimsy story about Kavanaugh trying to ra*pe her at a high

school party.

By Friday night, the story fell apart.

Ford named four witnesses who were at the party.

Each one – including a woman who was described as a life-long friend – denied being at

the party.

In fact, Ford's friend went on the record to say she did not even know Kavanaugh and

had never been in a social setting with him.

So the media moved on.

The New Yorker published an article reporting that registered Democrat Deborah Ramirez claimed

Kavanaugh had exposed himself to her while they were freshmen at Yale.

This story collapsed within hours.

Both The New Yorker and The New York Times could not find a single student to back up

Ramirez's claims with firsthand knowledge.

Americans saw what was really going on.

Donald Trump Slams Democrats For Kavanaugh Attacks

Donald Trump then joined the fray.

He met with reporters before he spoke at the United Nations.

Trump told the truth.

In just three words, Trump shut down the attacks on Kavanaugh, saying, "it's totally political."

"Judge Kavanaugh is an outstanding person and I am with him all the way," Trump stated.

"I think it could be — chance that this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust

things to happen to a candidate for anything."

"For people to come out of the woodwork from 36 years ago and 30 years ago and never

mention it — all of the sudden it happens.

In my opinion, it's totally political," he said.

Trump also pointed out that the lawyers for Ford and Ramirez were Democratic operatives.

"These are highly unsubstantiated statements from people represented by lawyers — you

should look into the lawyers doing the representation," Trump declared.

Lisa Banks and Debra Katz were set to appear at a fundraiser for Democratic Senator Tammy

Baldwin.

And Katz is the Vice Chairwoman of the George Soros funded project on government oversight.

Ramirez is represented by Stan Garrett, who was the Democrat District Attorney in Boulder

County, Colorado.

Finally, Trump got back up from an unlikely source.

Ronan Farrow – who published Ramirez's story along with left-wing activist Jane Meyer

in The New Yorker – admitted Ramirez only came forward because Democrats talked her

into it.

He told ABC's 'Good Morning America,' "She came forward because Senate Democrats

came looking for this claim.

She did not flag this.

This came to the attention of people on the hill independently, and it has co cornered

her into an awkward position.

She said, point-blank, I do not want to ruin anyone's life, but she feels this is a serious

claim.

She considers her own memories credible and she felt it was important to tell her own

story before others did for her."

Americans see that the accusations against Kavanaugh are politically motivated smears.

There are no witnesses or proof to back up the allegations.

But the media and Democrats do not care.

They are pushing these accusers lies because they think Kavanaugh might be the fifth vote

to overturn Roe v. Wade.

We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.

PRICELESS! Trump Dropped Crushing Anvil On 'Total Phony' Sen. Blumenthal For Faking

Vietnam Service

Isn't it great to finally have a president who calls it like it is?

Yesterday 100Percent FedUp reported that President Donald Trump did just that when he called

out Senator Richard Blumenthal over his lifetime of lies.

"Senator Richard Blumenthal must talk about his fraudulent service in Vietnam," Trump

tweeted, "where for 12 years he told the people of Connecticut, as their Attorney General,

that he was a great Marine War Hero.

Talked about his many battles of near death, but was never in Vietnam.

Total Phony!"

The senator had it coming, and President Trump is the perfect person to deliver it.

Here is more on Blumenthal and his lies via Heavy:

"1.

The New York Times Reported in 2010 That Blumenthal Lied About Vietnam Service in a Speech

With his tweets, President Trump is referring to a situation that unfolded during the 2010

U.S. Senate elections, when Richard Blumenthal was running against Linda McMahon.

In May 2010, The New York Times reported that Blumenthal said in a 2008 speech, "We have

learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam."

But as the Times reported, Blumenthal did not actually serve in Vietnam as he suggests

there; he received five military deferments from 1965 to 1970.

The Times also noted that Blumenthal took repeated steps to avoid going to Vietnam.

Blumenthal actually served in the Marine Reserve beginning in 1970, joining a unit in Washington

and working on projects like fixing campgrounds and organizing toy drives.

So technically he was serving while the Vietnam War was happening, but he himself did not

serve in Vietnam.

"…[W]hat is striking about Mr. Blumenthal's record is the contrast between the many steps

he took that allowed him to avoid Vietnam, and the misleading way he often speaks about

that period of his life now, especially when he is speaking at veterans' ceremonies or

other patriotic events," The New York Times reported.

2.

He Also Reportedly Talked in a 2003 Speech About 'Returning Home' From Vietnam

After The New York Times ran its story, journalists and political opponents immediately began

searching for other examples of Blumenthal lying about his military service.

One that came up was from 2003, when Blumenthal suggested in a speech that he was among those

who "returned home" from Vietnam, according to The Day.

Later, a post on the campaign website of Linda McMahon suggested that her opposition researchers

had passed along tape of Blumenthal's 2008 speech to The New York Times, according to

Politico.

However, The New York Times said that they did not receive the video from McMahon.

The New York Times' original report also refers to a speech Blumenthal gave to a crowd

of military families gathered to support troops overseas.

Blumenthal said, "When we returned, we saw nothing like this.

Let us do better by this generation of men and women."

That clearly suggests that he includes himself among the group of troops "returning"

from Vietnam, but in reality, he was never there.

3.

Critics Argued the 2008 Quote Was Taken Out of Context

After The New York Times reported on the 2008 speech, Politico reported that the article

was missing some vital context: that Blumenthal had said towards the beginning of that same

speech that he "served in the military during the Vietnam era in the Marine Corps," which

is an accurate characterization.

In addition, The Day reported that after viewing years of Blumenthal speeches and political

debates, they found that he typically specified that his service was in the Marine Corps Reserve,

and in some instances he explicitly said he did not serve in Vietnam.

On one such occasion reported by The Day, Blumenthal said during a Democratic primary

debate, "Although I did not serve in Vietnam, I have seen first-hand the effects of military

action."

The statements reported on by outlets like The New York Times and The Day were certainly

not truthful, then, but it's not as if Blumenthal was trying spin an elaborate lie, as the fact

that he served in the Marine Corps and not in Vietnam was something he typically mentioned

in his speeches.

4.

Blumenthal Said That He Misspoke on a Few Occasions

Blumenthal responded to the controversy by saying that he did indeed misspeak on a few

occasions, but he denied that he intentionally lied about Vietnam service.

"I may have misspoken, I did misspeak on a few occasions out of hundreds that I have

attended (in honor of the military)…I regret that I misspoke," Blumenthal said during

a press conference, according to Politico.

He went on to say that he was "unaware of those misplaced words when they were spoken."

During the press conference, Blumenthal was also asked why he didn't correct the record

when news articles referred to him as serving in Vietnam.

He responded, "There were a few articles, not many.

I am responsible for my own statements….I can't be responsible for all the articles,

I may not even have seen them.

….sometimes journalists do make mistakes."

5.

He Took a Hit in the Polls After the Story But Still Won the Election Easily

Richard Blumenthal had been ahead of Linda McMahon in the polls throughout much of the

2010 election cycle, but immediately after the Vietnam story broke, his lead over her

began to shrink.

As reported by Talking Points Memo at the time, a poll conducted before The New York

Times published its report showed Blumenthal ahead of McMahon 52 percent to 39 percent.

But in a poll conducted immediately after the scandal, Blumenthal was ahead of McMahon

by just three points, 48 percent to 45 percent.

Still, Blumenthal was able to bounce back from the controversy and easily win the election;

he was elected with 55 percent of the vote compared to Linda McMahon's 43 percent."

Yes, and this man easily getting reelected shows you either the American voter is awfully

misinformed or they just don't care.

Both of which are frightening prospects.

Blumenthal loves to take Republicans apart while he himself is a bonafide liar.

Just like Maxine Water's corruption and instigation of violence against the right

it goes unmentioned and unpunished because the left owns the media.

And when the right fights back they brand us as racists, bigots and Nazis just because

we offer a point of view which differs from their own.

Blumenthal should not be reelected, in fact, he should have been recalled and kicked out

of office.

But because he is a leftist and they have the support of their media they know perfectly

well that there will be no price to pay for any left winger who gets caught doing anything

they aren't supposed to be doing.

And if you don't believe me just consider the fact that Ted Kennedy was responsible

for the death of a young woman and he had a lifetime senate seat and was considered

"The Lion of the Senate" by the left, their media, and even his good friend, the

late Senator John McCain!

Trump Just Stepped In On FBI's Kavanaugh Investigation – He's Putting His Foot Down Hard! - Duration: 6:00.

Trump Just Stepped In On FBI's Kavanaugh Investigation – He's Putting His Foot

Down Hard!

President Trump has chimed in several times with his opinion on the Judge Kavanaugh nomination

process controversy.

After the hearings, he praised Judge Kavanaugh for his heated and impassioned response.

Now, he has stepped into the investigation in a different way.

As of now, the FBI has not received any new instructions from officials at the White House

regarding how to proceed with their week-long investigation into Judge Kavanaugh and the

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford sexual assault allegations.

Anonymous sources within the White House have said that after the Saturday night tweet from

the president his stance has remained the same.

He is fine with the FBI investigating whomever they feel is appropriate.

Right now this does not include Julie Swetnik who is the most recent sexual assault accuser

against Judge Kavanaugh.

NBC News reported,

Also not on the list, the sources say, are former classmates who have contradicted Kavanaugh's

account of his college alcohol consumption, instead describing him as a frequent, heavy

drinker.

The FBI is also not authorized to interview high school classmates who could shed light

on what some people have called untruths in Kavanaugh's Senate Judiciary Committee testimony

about alleged sexual references in his high school yearbook.

The sources said nothing would preclude the FBI from asking Kavanaugh's high school

friend Mark Judge, who is on the witness list, about Swetnick's allegations, but the sources

stressed that this is not a top priority.

Separately, a White House official made clear that the White House is the client in this

process.

This is not an FBI criminal investigation — it is a background investigation in which

the FBI is acting on behalf of the White House.

Procedurally, the White House does not allow the FBI to investigate as it sees fit, the

official acknowledged; the White House sets the parameters.

Trump announced on Twitter late Saturday that the White House had placed no limitation on

the FBI's ability to investigate the allegations against Kavanaugh.

"I want them to interview whoever they deem appropriate, at their discretion," Trump

tweeted in response to an NBC News report citing multiple people familiar with the process

who said the White House was limiting the scope of the reopened background investigation

of Kavanaugh.

While the FBI will examine the allegations of Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez,

the bureau had not been permitted to investigate the claims of Julie Swetnick, who has accused

Kavanaugh of engaging in sexual misconduct at parties while he was a student at Georgetown

Preparatory School in the 1980s, those people familiar with the investigation told NBC News.

A White House official had confirmed earlier Saturday that Swetnick's claims would not

be pursued as part of the reopened background investigation into Kavanaugh.

Trump described that as incorrect in a tweet late Saturday.

The Wall Street Journal had also reported that Swetnick's allegations would not be

investigated.

Trump said the FBI had "free rein" in the investigation.

"They're going to do whatever they have to do," he said.

"Whatever it is they do, they'll be doing—things that we never even thought of.

And hopefully at the conclusion everything will be fine."

The New York Times reported Saturday night, after Trump's tweet, that the White House

has authorized the FBI to interview four witnesses: Judge; Leland Keyser, a high school friend

of Ford's whom she said attended the party but was not told of the assault; P.J. Smyth,

another party guest; and Ramirez, the Yale accuser.

Ford said in Senate testimony Thursday that she was "100 percent" certain that Kavanaugh

sexually assaulted her when they were both in high school.

Ramirez alleged that he exposed himself to her when there were students at Yale.

Kavanaugh has staunchly denied allegations from Ford, Ramirez and Swetnick.

Instead of investigating Swetnick's claims, the White House counsel's office has given

the FBI a list of witnesses they are permitted to interview, according to several people

who discussed the parameters on the condition of anonymity.

They characterized the White House instructions as a significant constraint on the FBI investigation

and caution that such a limited scope, while not unusual in normal circumstances, may make

it difficult to pursue additional leads in a case in which a Supreme Court nominee has

been accused of sexual assault.

The limited scope seems to be at odds with what some members of the Senate judiciary

seemed to expect when they agreed to give the FBI as much as a week to investigate allegations

against Kavanaugh, a federal judge who grew up in the Washington DC area and attended

an elite all-boys high school before going on to Yale.

President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the FBI has "free rein" in the investigation.

"They're going to do whatever they have to do," he said.

"Whatever it is they do, they'll be doing — things that we never even thought of.

And hopefully at the conclusion everything will be fine."

The president also said he thinks Flake's role in delaying the vote is fine.

"Actually this could be a blessing in disguise," Trump continued.

"Because having the FBI go out, do a thorough investigation, whether its three days or seven

days, I think it's going to be less than a week.

But having them do a thorough investigation, I actually think will be a blessing in disguise.

It'll be a good thing."

"I don't need a backup plan," Trump said, adding that he thinks Kavanaugh is "going

to be fine."

Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., said Saturday that he supports the week-long scope of the investigation.

"The FBI works at the direction of the White House in investigating the background of an

administration nominee like Judge Kavanaugh," he told MSNBC's Chris Hayes at Global Citizen

Festival in New York.

"So it's the White House Counsel or the president who says, 'This is the scope of

the further investigation.'"

Senator Jeff Flake who is from Arizona, and a well-known flip-voter, came in at the 11th

hour and indicates that he wanted an FBI investigation completed before a vote takes place on the

Senate Floor.

His Democratic colleague Senator Whitehouse indicated he wanted an investigation to include

adequate staffing as well as rapid immunity and subpoena decisions.
