Trump news on Youtube Jun 22 2018

U.S. President Donald Trump says North Korea has already started its full-scale denuclearization.

Mentioning that the remains of American soldiers who died during the Korean War are being returned

to the U.S., he emphasized that Pyongyang is adhering to the agreement sealed at the

recent North Korea-U.S. summit in Singapore.

Our Kan Hyeong-woo has more.

During a cabinet meeting on Thursday, President Trump said North Korea has already entered

the process of denuclearization… specifically citing that Pyongyang is destroying its missile

test sites.

"They are destroying their engine site.

They're blowing it up.

They've already blown up one of their big test sites.

In fact, it was actually four of their big test sites.

And the big thing is it will be a total denuclearization, which is already starting taken place."

However, he did not clarify that these "blown up" facilities include the Punggye-ri nuclear

test site that North Korea already destroyed back in May.

Having said the remains of 200 fallen U.S. soldiers had been sent back from North Korea

the day before, Trump made it clear the process is ongoing.

"That they've already sent back or are in the process of sending back the remains of

our great heroes who died in North Korea during the war.

And that's already in the process of coming back."

He added that the relationship with North Korea is (quote unquote) "very good" and that

he and Kim Jong-un are going to create a brighter future for North Korea.

According to State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert on Thursday, U.S. Secretary

of State Mike Pompeo will meet with North Korean officials at the earliest date possible

to implement the outcomes of the North Korea - U.S. summit.

But she said there were no meetings or travel plans to be announced at the current time.

Late Night Hosts Attack Trump, Embarrass Themselves On Immigration Issues - Duration: 3:41.

Everyone can now relax as the late-night hosts have weighed in on the ongoing immigration

crisis with their brand of genius.

These overpaid comedians attacked President Donald Trump, but they ended up exposing their

ignorance.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to allow families who attempt

to enter the United States illegally to be detained together.

The ACLU immediately said it would sue, and Democrats took to the television networks

to say that the action was not good enough.

In doing so, they reveal themselves and what their endgame truly is.

They are not interested in keeping kids with their parents, and they are not interested

in securing the border.

The only things they want are open borders, cheap labor, and free votes.

But if you get your news from the hosts of late-night television, and sadly too many

young progressives do, you would not know any of that.

You would not know any of the facts.

The only thing you would hear is that America is evil and, if you voted for President Trump,

you are evil.

"You don't get credit for solving a problem when you're the one who created the problem,"

Seth Meyers said, ignoring the fact that the illegal immigration crisis has existed for

decades and was inherited by President Trump.

"He concocts racist lies and uses dehumanizing language to justify cruelty towards immigrants

and outsiders.

It wasn't an accident; it wasn't a law; it was a choice by Trump and his supporters,"

Meyers said.

"Something you hear a lot on days like today or days like yesterday is, 'This is not

who we are.'

But it is who we are right now.

It might change tomorrow or the day after that, but today we are this.

And you personally may not be this, but who we are is too often decided by those in power,

which is why you vote.

So remember, if you want who we are to match who you are, you have to get up early and

vote next chance you have."

Stephen Colbert, who has literally made a career out of attacking President Donald Trump,

weighed in on the controversy on his own show.

"Trump made it a big signing ceremony to make it look like he did something good instead

of admitting he was just ending the evil thing he started.

That's like wanting credit for solving the crimes you committed," he said.

And James Corden, who comes from England, had his own take.

He too ignored the fact that former President Barack Obama was putting illegal immigrant

kids in cages way before President Donald Trump even considered running for president.

"I'm sure you have all seen these images, images of families being forcibly separated

at the US-Mexico border, immigrant children laying in cages, it's nothing short of horrific,"

he said.

"I don't think this is an American political issue, I think this is simply a human decency

issue.

And there's not a person that I know or a single person that I have met three years

since I've lived in America who is okay with this, who would think this is okay.

But rather than sit here and tell you about something you already know is awful, we thought

that maybe it would be more productive to just tell you what you could do to help these

families be reunited."

"If you can contribute, please help reunite these families because immigrant children

are children and immigrant parents are parents," he said, "and every child deserves to be

with their parents."

We agree with James.

That is why we are telling them not to come to the border and get separated, to begin

with.

No one is going to Central America, kidnapping these kids and bringing them to the United

States.

Their parents have made a choice to break our immigration laws.

Why do you Hollywood progressives ignore that fact?

Trump administration orders federal agencies to reunite families at border - Duration: 2:14.

The Trump administration is taking its first steps to begin reuniting more than two thousand

undocumented migrant children and parents separated at the U.S.-Mexico border.

For more on this and other international news we turn to Ro Aram…

Aram... what's the latest?

Well Mark…

President Trump said Thursday that he had directed the departments of Justice, Homeland

Security and Health and Human Services to work on bringing together the separated families.

It's a first step to implementing his policy-reversing executive order which states that migrant

families entering the U.S. should be detained together.

The order still faces possible legal challenges and administration lawyers have filed a request

to modify a previous court settlement that limits the government's detention of minors

to 20 days.

However, Trump still insisted tougher immigration laws were needed and blamed the Democrats

for creating what he called loopholes in the current system.

"But the only real solution is for Congress to close the catch and release loopholes that

have fueled the child smuggling industry.

The Democrats are causing tremendous damage and destruction and lives by not doing something

about this and they know that, they know that better than anybody up there with a pen.

If we don't close these loopholes, there is no amount of money or personnel in the world

to address the crisis, very serious crisis."

His comments came as his wife Melania made a surprise visit to a border detention center

in Texas.

"I'm here to learn about your facility, which I know you house children on a long term basis.

I also want to ask you how I can help to these children to reunite with their families as

quickly as possible."

However, her trip was immediately thrown into controversy after she was seen wearing a jacket

with the words, "I don't really care do u?"

Trump says N. Korea has returned remains of 200 U.S. soldiers - Duration: 2:09.

North Korea has reportedly returned the remains of scores of American soldiers who died during

the Korean War.

U.S. President Donald Trump said as much during a campaign rally on Wednesday.

That said,... despite Trump's comments and a Wall Street Journal report,... there's been

no confirmation yet from military authorities.

Ko Roon-hee reports.

Speaking at a rally in Minnesota on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said North Korea

has returned the remains of 200 U.S. troops missing from the Korean War.

"We got back our great fallen heroes, the remains, in fact today, already 200 have been

sent back."

Multiple news outlets had been saying the transfer was going to happen soon,... citing

U.S. officials.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that they would be handed over in the next

day or two.

A U.S. official told the Journal that the remains would likely be brought to Osan Air

Base, located some 60 kilometers south of Seoul.

After a ceremony, the official said, they would be sent to Hickam Air Force Base in

Hawaii for scientific testing and identification.

However, the official pointed out that the remains are "co-mingled."

This means that there might be individuals of other nationalities, not just Americans.

After the identification process, non-U.S. remains will be sent back to their home countries.

This comes after President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a joint statement

at their summit in Singapore on June 12th... in which they committed to recovering the

remains of prisoners of war and those missing in action from the Korean War,… including

the immediate repatriation of those already identified.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, about 77-hundred U.S. military personnel remain

unaccounted from the Korean War… of whom about 53-hundred are estimated to be in North

Korea.

Meanwhile, South Korea's defense ministry said it can't confirm anything yet... including

where the transfer was to take place.

"We have to do something about immigration in this country."

A day after Trump said in a Cabinet meeting that "we have to do something about immigration,"

he tweeted, "Republicans should stop wasting their time" on it.

On Friday, Trump encouraged Republicans in Congress to wait to vote on any immigration

bills until after midterm elections in November, saying reform can be passed after the "Red

Trump's statement also comes a day after the House rejected a conservative immigration

bill and delayed a vote on the GOP compromise immigration bill.

HE DID IT! Trump Signs the Order! - Duration: 6:00.

Once again, President Trump fixes another one of Obama's mistakes.

Trump signed an executive order, that will stop families who break the law, and get caught

at the border, from being separated.

Just remember, folks, it was OBAMA's policy that separated families and President Trump

fixed it.

Now, the burning question is: what will liberals do with their fake outrage?

From Yahoo News

WASHINGTON (AP) — Bowing to pressure from anxious allies, President Donald Trump signed

an executive order Wednesday ending the process of separating children from families after

they are detained crossing the U.S. border illegally.

It was a dramatic turnaround for Trump, who has been insisting, wrongly, that his administration

had no choice but to separate families apprehended at the border because of federal law and a

court decision.

The news in recent days has been dominated by searing images of children held in cages

at border facilities, as well as audio recordings of young children crying for their parents

— images that have sparked fury, question of morality and concern from Republicans about

a negative impact on their races in November's midterm elections.

Until Wednesday, the president, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and other officials

had repeatedly argued the only way to end the practice was for Congress to pass new

legislation, while Democrats said he could do it with his signature alone.

That's what he did on Wednesday.

"We're going to have strong, very strong borders, but we're going to keep the families

together," said Trump who said he didn't like the "sight" or "feeling" of children

separated from their parents.

He said his order would not end the "zero-tolerance" policy that criminally prosecutes all adults

caught crossing the border illegally.

The order aims to keep families together while they are in custody, expedite their cases,

and ask the Department of Defense to help house families.

Justice Department lawyers had been working to find a legal workaround for a previous

class-action settlement that set policies for the treatment and release of unaccompanied

children who are caught at the border.

Still, Trump's order is likely to create a new set of problems involving length of

detention of families, and may spark a fresh court fight.

Also playing a role in his turnaround: First lady Melania Trump.

One White House official said Mrs. Trump had been making her opinion known to the president

for some time that she felt he needed to do all he could to help families stay together,

whether by working with Congress or acting on his own.

Nielsen traveled to Capitol Hill Wednesday afternoon to brief lawmakers.

And members on the fence over pending immigration legislation headed to the White House to meet

with Trump.

Trump had tweeted earlier Wednesday, "It's the Democrats fault, they won't give us

the votes needed to pass good immigration legislation.

They want open borders, which breeds horrible crime.

Republicans want security.

But I am working on something – it never ends!"

The administration recently put into place a "zero tolerance" policy in which all

unlawful border crossings are referred for prosecution — a process that moves adults

to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and sends many children to facilities run

by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Under the Obama administration, such families were usually referred for civil deportation

proceedings, not requiring separation.

The policy had led to a spike in family separations in recent weeks, with more than 2,300 minors

were separated from their families at the border from May 5 through June 9, according

to the Department of Homeland Security.

Two people close to Homeland Security Secretary Nielsen said early Wednesday that she was

the driving force behind the plan to keep families together after they are detained

crossing the border illegally.

One of the people said Nielsen, who had become the face of the administration's policy,

had little faith that Congress would act to fix the separation issue and felt compelled

to act.

Nielsen was heckled at a restaurant Tuesday evening and has faced protesters at her home.

But others pushed back on the idea that Homeland Security had led the rollback.

One official said it was the Justice Department that generated the legal strategy that is

codified in the working executive order, and disputed the notion that Homeland Security

was involved in drawing up the document.

Planning at the Justice Department had been underway over the past several days to provide

the president with options on the growing crisis, said the official, who, like others,

spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the effort before its official announcement.

The person said Trump called the Justice Department Wednesday morning asking for the draft order.

The official did not know what prompted Trump to change course.

The Flores settlement, named for a teenage girl who brought the case in the 1980s, requires

the government to release children from custody and to their parents, adult relatives or other

caretakers, in order of preference.

If those options are exhausted, authorities must find the "least restrictive" setting

for the child who arrived without parents.

In 2015, a federal judge in Los Angeles expanded the terms of the settlement, ruling that it

applies to children who are caught with their parents as well as to those who come to the

U.S. alone.

Other recent rulings, upheld on appeal, affirm the children's rights to a bond hearing

and require better conditions at the Border Patrol's short-term holding facilities.

In 2016, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that child migrants who came to the

border with parents and were held in custody must be released.

The decision did not state parents must be released.

Neither, though, did it require parents to be kept in detention, apart from their children.

Trump Warned Them But They Didn't Listen, Now He's Ending It For All Of Them Effective Immediately - Duration: 5:02.

Trump Warned Them But They Didn't Listen, Now He's Ending It For All Of Them Effective

Immediately

I've watched President Trump stand strong on the border and the illegal immigration

issues.

Sometimes he has compromised more than I like, but he's always had a reason behind the

move.

He even signed an Executive Order yesterday that would keep families together at the border.

Backing him up are those such as House Judiciary Committee Chair Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), who

is proposing legislation that would keep those families together and deport them immediately.

It would treat all illegal immigrants the same regardless of point of origin.

President Trump also warned that he would cut off all funding to countries who abuse

our immigration system.

He's ending that funding effective immediately and I applaud him for it.

It's been a long time since we had a president with a real spine, one who doesn't back

down to the political pressure and threats thrown his way.

Where I come from that's called being a man of principle.

Of course, I'm from the wild west where you are known by your word and deeds.

On Tuesday, Trump met with the Republicans in Congress to hash out immigration legislation.

It continued yesterday and ended with the EO.

The Democrats are playing obstructionist politics and refuse to pass any bill on immigration

even if it benefits them.

They demanded that Trump sign the EO.

When he did, they decried his executive overreach and said that you can't put children in

prison with their parents.

They then moved to say that they should all be set free in the US and the borders should

be thrown wide open.

At the National Federation of Independent Business, President Trump announced that the

time of countries taking advantage of the United States by sending people to our borders

is going to come to an end.

The free ride and all-you-can-eat at the American trough of freebies is over.

"We want to end the border crisis by finally giving us the legal authorities and the resources

to detain and remove illegal immigrant families all together and bring them back to their

country," he told the crowd.

It's exactly what Goodlatte proposed.

"Think of all that aid that we give some of these countries – hundreds of millions

of dollars we give to some of these countries and they send them up.

I'm going to go, very shortly, for authorization that when countries abuse us by sending their

people up — not their best (people) — we're not going to give any more aid to those countries,"

he said.

The US is about to embark on a merit-based immigration system, which is the sane way

to handle all of this and President Trump's actions here are making that move a reality.

Trump also said, "Why the hell should we?

Why should we?

This is a responsible, common-sense approach that all lawmakers should embrace, Democrats

and Republicans."

He's right of course.

This isn't a new stance for the president.

He has said many times in the past that he has no interest in sending aid to countries

who take advantage of our immigration system.

Last April, Trump tweeted, "The big Caravan of People from Honduras, now coming across

Mexico and heading to our 'Weak Laws' Border, had better be stopped before it gets

there.

Cash cow NAFTA is in play, as in foreign aid to Honduras and the countries that allow this

to happen.

Congress MUST ACT NOW!"

The president is upset that children are being separated from their parents, but he also

pointed out that it's a result of Democrat-supported loopholes in the law.

"I don't want children taken away from parents, and when you prosecute the parents

for coming in illegally — which should happen — you have to take the children away,"

he said.

That's what happens to any criminal in the US.

"These loopholes have created a massive child smuggling trade.

Can you believe this?"

Trump stated.

"In this day and age, we're talking about child smuggling.

We're talking about women smuggling, in this day and age."

"The smugglers know these rules and regulations better than the people that drew them, as

a result there has been a 325 percent increase in minors and a 435 percent increase in the

smuggling or attempted smuggling of families and minors into our country," he said.

"We're stopping them all the time, by the thousands, but they still get through.

We have no wall, we have no border security."

What the Democrats are doing is aiding and abetting human trafficking and white slavery.

We have to stop this, build a wall and secure our borders before it is too late and this

country is destroyed financially, politically and morally over all of this idiocy.

President Trump went on to slam the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying that

"Mexico does nothing for us."

Which is true… in fact, they are trying to invade us with their people, gangs, criminals

and drugs.

"We can no longer be the stupid country we want to be the smart country," Trump

said, adding that Mexico is "not sending their finest (people)."

It's impossible to argue with that statement.

Just take a look at Los Angeles where the Mexican gangs control the prisons and most

of the city now.

President Trump is right.

It's time to put the safety and security of America first here.

We cannot give in to the Marxist left.

We must secure the border and build the wall.

Cutting the aid off to these countries is the right thing to do and should have been

done long ago.

Robert Mueller Is In Deep Trouble When Trump Finds Out About What He Was Hiding - Duration: 10:08.

Robert Mueller Is In Deep Trouble When Trump Finds Out About What He Was Hiding

Robert Mueller's witch hunt against President Trump just suffered another body blow.

And this one could be the knockout punch.

That's because Mueller and his team are in deep trouble once Trump finds out what

they are hiding.

Not even Robert Mueller and his team's investigation was safe from the fallout from Inspector General

Michael Horowitz's bombshell report.

The political bias and hatred of Trump even spread to Mueller's team.

And it is calling into question the legitimacy of his entire investigation.

In Horowitz's report, investigators identified a November 22nd 2016 exchange between two

FBI lawyers – one of whom worked on the Clinton investigation and was later assigned

to Mueller's team.

The lawyer was responding to another FBI attorney's horror at Donald Trump's victory and praised

the "resistance."

Horowitz's report states :

"FBI Attorney 2 sent an instant message to FBI Attorney 1 commenting on the amount

of money the subject of an FBI investigation had been paid while working on the Trump campaign.

FBI Attorney 1 responded, "Is it making you rethink your commitment to the Trump administration?"

FBI Attorney 2 replied, "Hell no." and then added, "Viva le resistance."

FBI Attorney 1 responded that Trump was "going to eliminate all of our pensions in order

to pay for people like" the person discussed in the instant message exchange, and FBI Attorney

1 and FBI Attorney 2 then began a discussion of federal pension and retirement issues."

The lawyer was later removed from Mueller's team, but the damage had already been done.

Mueller clearly did not vet the members of his team.

Some critics contend that Mueller did not want to examine the backgrounds of the lawyers

he hired so he could get away with stacking the deck against Trump.

Mueller removed the members of his team only after they were caught red-handed—and he

should receive no credibility points for taking an obvious action that was forced upon him

by outside actors.

This explosive development led Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani to appear on Sean Hannity's

Fox News program and declare that Mueller's investigation should be suspended:

"I believe that Rod Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions have a chance to redeem themselves

and that chance comes about tomorrow and doesn't go beyond tomorrow.

Tomorrow Mueller should be suspended and honest people should be brought in" to investigate

whether the Justice Department and/or FBI tried to interfere in the 2016 presidential

election."

Some Trump watchers predicted the President was on the verge of a major action.

The Daily Mail's David Martosko wrote,"If Trump doesn't fire anyone at DOJ in the

next 12 hours, he probably never will.

The fact that he hasn't yet tweeted about the IG report suggests to me that some sort

of calculated action is being contemplated."

Do you believe Trump should start firing disloyal employees in the DOJ and that Mueller should

shut down his investigation?

Theresa May Slams Trump For Separating Migrant Kids — Then Her Dirty Secret Comes Out - Duration: 5:35.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May recently condemned President Donald Trump before his visit to

the UK, stating that he is "wrong" to separate illegal immigrant families.

However, she might want to reconsider her Trump bashing now that her nasty little secret

has been exposed.

On Wednesday, British Prime Minister Theresa May fanned the flames of the liberal media's

propaganda war on President Donald Trump, calling the policy of temporarily separating

illegal immigrant children from adults "wrong" and "deeply disturbing."

May was speaking to British lawmakers when she responded to photos portraying children

in detention centers, many of which have been proven to be hoaxes or pictures from Barack

Obama's time in office.

"The pictures of children being held in what appear to be cages are deeply disturbing.

This is wrong.

This is not something that we agree with.

This is not the United Kingdom's approach," she said during questioning.

May has been a formidable critic of Trump's actions since his 2016 election.

Despite her conflation of a policy enacted decades ago and practiced by former presidents,

May and her left-leaning peers continue to feed the liberal propaganda machine.

However, now that her own policy in dealing with migrant families has been exposed, she

might wish to rethink her chastisement of the Trump administration.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is under fire for criticizing President Donald Trump for

the temporary separation of illegal immigrant adults and minors now that critics have shed

light on her own policy of indefinitely separating migrant families unless they are willing to

shell out loads of cash.

May has been exposed for enforcing a policy that refused to allow asylum seekers the ability

to reunite with their parents, spouses, and children unless they paid exorbitant fees.

In fact, at least 15,000 children have been "ripped" from their parents' arms without

any foreseeable reunification with their families, according to The Guardian.

The Children's Commissioner has found that at least 15,000 children growing up in the

UK live without a parent because the right of British citizens to reunite with a foreign

spouse is limited by an unreasonable income threshold, an impossibly complicated application

system fraught with Home Office errors, and no legal aid for families to challenge incorrect

decisions.

The Daily Caller reports that the Joint Council for the Welfare of immigrants' (JWCI) Divided

Families Campaign has come forward to condemn May for making "family reunification entitlements

a privilege for only the wealthy."

The JWCI also pointed out that May was in charge of enforcing legislation which not

only tore migrant families apart but detained them indefinitely, not unlike the American

legislation she has fervently criticized.

Bail for Immigration Detainees (BID) has expressed similar concerns by U.S. child wellness experts,

saying "a parent's detention is emotionally devastating.

Many of the children we work with have lost weight, suffer from nightmares and insomnia,"

on a crowdfunding page in 2016.

"No child should have to live through the trauma of being forcibly separated from their

parent by the government," the group said.

"Parents are removed without warning from the heart of the family," it added.

Of course, May wasn't always the virtue signaler and advocate for multiculturalism

she is today.

In 2012, she said that her goal as home secretary was "to create, here in Britain, a really

hostile environment for illegal immigrants."

In fact, she admitted that she valued the deportation of illegals over the "right

to family life."

While we absolutely agree with May's former actions in upholding the law and discouraging

illegal immigration, it is her flagrant hypocrisy that deserves the same condemnation she has

for the Trump administration's justice.

However, May refuses to let go of her newfound political correctness, and it's beginning

to catch up with her.

In her dedication to flooding the UK with migrants, most of whom are from Muslim countries,

May found herself at the center of an assassination attempt.

In December 2017, 20-year-old Bangladeshi migrant Naa'imur Zakariyah Rahman was arrested

just days before carrying out a murder plot against the PM.

Rahman planned to publicly behead May as she arrived on Downing Street before detonating

a suicide bomb to take out bystanders.

Rahman, who faces trial this week, was thwarted when authorities posed as an ISIS recruiter

in Syria, where his uncle had been killed by a drone strike while fighting for the terrorist

group.

Rahman also helped his companion, 22-year-old Mohammad Aqib Imran, join ISIS by recording

a video in which he pledged support to the cause.

"Can you put me in a sleeper cell ASAP?" the defendant allegedly asked in September.

"I want to do a suicide bomb on Parliament.

I want to attempt to kill Theresa May…my objective is to take out my target.

Nothing less than the death of the leaders of Parliament."

Theresa May isn't ignorant of the threat illegal migration poses to a Western nation.

She has seen firsthand the devastation that legislating policy based on emotion can cause,

yet she continues to aid this catastrophic agenda to gain popularity with the far-left.

Fortunately, President Donald Trump doesn't care about pleasing the foes of the US and

gaining the approval of the enemedia.

A chorus of celebrities have expressed outrage over First Lady Melania Trump's slogan jacket saying 'I really don't care, do u?', which she wore before and after a trip to a child detention center in the middle of the immigration crisis

The First Lady wore the $39 green, hooded military jacket from Zara when she left for Texas and then returned to Washington on Thursday

Chelsea Handler was among the big names to slam Melania for the item of clothing, tweeting: 'The hypocrisy of @FLOTUS going down to the border to speak broken English to our refugees in that dumb jacket is a little hard to swallow

'Comedian Kathy Griffin launched an expletive-laden rant, saying: 'The jacket Melanie wore on the way to meeting the kids held in internment camps has 'I don't really care, do you?' written on the back

F**k these people and f**k anyone who says we should be polite to them or maintain decorum

'Veep actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus simply tweeted: 'It's endless with these morons

'  President Donald Trump and his eldest son both tried to shrug off the controversy

The president took to Twitter soon after claiming his wife was referring to 'the Fake News Media' when she opted to wear the jacket to visit children separated from their families at the border

It contradicted Melania's spokeswoman's earlier statement that it was 'just a jacket' and that there 'was no hidden message'

Trump tweeted: ''I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO YOU?' written on the back of Melania's jacket, refers to the Fake News Media

Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares.' As the outrage continued, Melania herself failed to mention the controversy when she took to Twitter Thursday night to share photos of her visit to the detention center

'Today's visit to #Texas to spend time with children & thank the many hardworking individuals helping to care for them was very meaningful

Thank you to @SecAzar @HHSGOV for traveling w me today & the care you are giving these children in such a difficult time,' she tweeted

The First lady's surprise visit to a children's shelter - where a handful of the 55 children it houses had been taken from their parents - was intended to underline her compassion for children, and came after she lobbied Trump to end separations

Instead it was overshadowed by the former model's choice of jacket.Melania was first spotted wearing the jacket as she left Washington but she changed into a cream button-up safari-style jacket before the plane landed in McAllen, Texas, for a visit to the Upbring New Hope Children's Center

But even after questions arose about her attire, Mrs Trump was back in the green jacket when she returned to Washington in 80-degree weather

She wore it as she walked to the Oval Office to see her husband.  After DailyMail

com identified the jacket Melania wore, Twitter users quickly slammed her for her 'tone deaf' fashion choice

Others suggested she was the only 'honest' Trump because she was wearing such a clear sentiment so publicly

When asked what message the first lady's jacket intended to send, spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said: 'It's a jacket

There was no hidden message. After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe

' Grisham underscored that message in a tweet with the hashtags #SheCares and #ItsJustAJacket

It's not the first time the first lady's fashion choices have caused a stir. Last August, a pair of Melania's signature spike heels earned her a round of bafflement as she boarded Air Force One bound for Texas to tour devastation after Hurricane Harvey

She had changed into white sneakers by the time she and the president landed. At the second 2016 presidential debate, Mrs Trump showed up in a fuchsia silk blouse with a large bow at the neck, long known as a 'pussy bow blouse'

That was just days after reports surfaced that her husband had made lewd remarks years earlier about grabbing women by the genitals

On the other side of the political aisle, former First Lady Michelle Obama routinely caught grief from some critics for going sleeveless

Her husband, President Barack Obama, was the talk of a 24-hour news cycle when he donned a tan suit in 2014 for a media briefing

The First Lady said in a written statement after she returned to the White House that the visit had 'impacted me greatly

' She called on Congress to work together on immigration legislation that would benefit the children

'Spending time with them reinforces the fact that these kids are in this situation as a direct result of adult actions,' she said

'Melania's stop in McAllen came one day after Trump ordered a halt, at least for now, to the separation of immigrant families who are detained at the border

Her visit to the one-story, red brick building was quickly arranged after Mrs Trump decided earlier this week that she wanted to go, her spokeswoman said, adding that she wanted to lend support to children who have been separated from their parents

Share this article Share 'I'm here to learn about your facility,' she said as she met with staff and federal health and border patrol officials

She asked how she could help 'these children to reunite with their families as quickly as possible' and how often they communicate with their families

She learned the children are allowed a 10-minute phone call twice a week.   TWITTER REACTS TO MELANIA'S JACKET

PRESIDENT TRUMP: THE U.S. HAS THE WORST IMMIGRATION LAWS IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD - Duration: 22:32.

Dart the President of the United States let's

watch hello everybody thank you very much being here it's cabinet meeting and

we have plenty of things to discuss and plenty of success we've had a tremendous

amount of success we're working however right now in immigration which has been

going on for many years we have come up with a lot of solutions but we have

Democrats that don't want to approve anything because that's probably they

think bad for the election that's coming up unfortunately there are a lot of

people suffering and that's unfortunate unrelated and before we get into that

the new employment claims recently out just yesterday show that we have the

lowest level in nearly a half a century at something that is an incredible

statistic and then half a century it's a long time and the economy is booming

it's doing really well we're renegotiating trade deals we're doing

very well in those trade deals stacked taking a little period of time we put

tariffs on certain countries and certain industries where it's been very unfair

to the United States our treasury is taking in billions of dollars and these

other countries are coming along that have not treated us well and they are

negotiating very vigorously and lots of good things are happening this should

have been taken care of a long time before my administration came into being

but for some reason for 25-30 years nobody ever looked at trade deals

they're out of control how bad they are but well

to make them very good and we're going to make them fair for both countries for

our country and for whichever country were dealing with and there are plenty

of them because they're all bad there's nothing good my administration is also

acting swiftly to address the illegal immigration crisis on the southern

border loopholes and our immigration laws all supported by extremists open

border Democrats and that's what they are they're extremists open border

Democrats if you look at Nancy Pelosi you look at Chuck Schumer you'll see

tapes where they wanted to have what borders they needed borders for security

just a short while ago number of years ago I see Chuck Schumer we must have

borders Hillary Clinton we must have borders if people penetrate our borders

we must get them out of our country now all of a sudden that big open border

people it's a whole big con job in the meantime people are suffering because of

the Democrats so we've created and they've created and they've let it

happen a massive child smuggling industry

that's exactly what it's become traffickers if you think about this

human traffickers are making a fortune it's a disgrace these loopholes forced

the release of alien families and minors into the country when they illegally

cross the border since 2014 alone nearly 200,000 unaccompanied alien minors have

been released into the United States as a result of Democrat backed loopholes

including catch and release which is one of the worst you catch them and then you

release them might as well save you time don't bother catching them and this is

what we're stuck with they're the worst immigration laws in the history of the

world the whole world is laughing at the United States and they happen for years

these alien miners were separated and sent all the way up here alone but they

really came up with coyotes you know the coyote is not good these are not good

people they were set up here with human traffickers because the Democrat

supported policies have allowed this to happen Democrats also refuse to fund the

personnel the bed space the resources that we need to house D miners now they

want us to take care of the miners and that's fine but they don't want to give

us the money to take care of because the worst everything looks they think the

better they're going to do with respect to the Blue Wave which is turning out

frankly to be a red wave if you look at the polls I think we're gonna have a red

wave not a blue wave so they want us to take care of bed space and resources and

personnel and take everybody and you know like let's run the most luxurious

hotel in the world for everybody but they don't want to give us the money so

you could ask them about that we have to house these miners that we have to have

them safely and frankly we have to house them and we should be taking good care

of them and then we should return them back home that's what we have to do but

every time we ask for resources the Democrats say no they said no to

everything they're obstructionist because they think that's good

politically I think it's bad politically for them I think it's bad politically

we'll say in addition Democrat and court-ordered loopholes prevent family

detention and lead to family separation no matter how you cut it

I signed a very good executive order yesterday but that's only limited no

matter how you cut it leads to separation ultimately I'm directing HHS

DHS and DOJ to work together to keep the illegal

immigrant families together during the immigration process and to reunite these

previously separated groups but the only real solution is for Congress to close

the catch-and-release loopholes that have fueled the child smuggling industry

the Democrats are causing tremendous damage and destruction and lives by not

doing something about this and they know that they know that better than anyone

up there with a pen if we don't close these little poles there is no amount of

money or personnel in the world to address the crisis very serious crisis

been going on so long this isn't Trump administration you look back at 2014

during the Obama administration they have pictures that were so bad they had

a judge that said it was inhumane the way they were treating children take a

look at some of the court rulings against the Obama administration they

talked about inhumane treatment I read them I looked at them they're all over

the place inhumane treatment they were treating

them terribly we have a situation where some of these places they're really

running them well and I give a lot of credit to secretary Neilson and all of

the people that have worked it's so nice is that people have seen but it's still

something that shouldn't be taking place my wife our first lady is down now at

the border because it really bothered her to be looking at this and to seeing

it as it bothered me as it bothered everybody at this table we're all

bothered by it but we need two to tango we have 51 votes in the Senate we need

60 unfortunately because we have the ridiculous filibuster rule so we need 60

and I think I'll get four or five or six from senators frankly running in states

where I won by 25 30 40 points with Mike and I think we'll get six senators maybe

we'll get seven senators that still doesn't get us to 60 so there's nothing

you can do to get there and people don't understand that when we have a majority

in the center we have a majority by one but we need 10 votes so we need 10

essentially we need 10 Democrats not going to get them they're told by

Schumer and Pelosi don't do it because we want to see if we can pick up seats

they don't care about the children they don't care about the injury they don't

care about the problems they don't care about anything all they do is say

obstruct and let's see how we do because no policies that are any good they're

not good politicians they've got nothing going all they're good at is obstructing

and they generally stick together I respect them for that that's about it

their policies stink there's no good they have no ideas they

have no nothing the Democrats all they can do is obstruct and stay together and

vote against and make it impossible to take care of children and families and

to take care of immigration we should be able to make an immigration bill that

can really solve the problem not just this this is one aspect of it this is

one very important but small aspect of it we should be able to do a bill I'd

invite them to come over to the White House anytime they want this afternoon

would be good after the cabinet meeting would be good they are invited

officially I'll let you do the inviting let the press do the inviting but we

have to do something about immigration in this country for 50 years of long

before that it was a disaster but over the last 2025 years it's gotten worse

every time they write a rule or regulation it makes it worse not better

we can solve this problem we have to hire thousands of judges no country in

the world is hiring judges like that they hire border people like you can't

come into the country in Mexico by the way is doing nothing for us nothing they

have the strongest immigration laws they can do whatever they want they can keep

people out of Mexico you have a 2,000 mile journey up Mexico they walk through

Mexico like it's walking through Central Park it's ridiculous

Mexico does nothing for us so then when people say why are you being so tough

with NAFTA and I am being tough because we it's a terrible deal for the United

States Mexico is making a hundred billion dollars a year of us and the

horrible NAFTA deal and I am being tough one of the reasons I'm being tough

because they do nothing for us at the border they encourage people frankly to

walk through Mexico and go into the United States because they're drug

traffickers they're human traffickers they're coyotes I mean we get in some

real beauties Mexico is doing nothing for us except taking our money and

sending us drugs and doing nothing they could solve this problem in two minutes

you wouldn't even have to do anything but they don't do it they talk a good

game but they don't do it so we'll see how that all comes out it would be very

interesting to see so with that I'll end by saying we had a tremendous success in

North Korea we continued to work on that Mike Pompeo has been fantastic John

Bolton working together with Mike has been fantastic I don't even know where

and there it is 31 might have gone back to North Korea

spent so much time in North Korea surprised to see you here but I think I

can speak for both of us in saying it's been an incredible experience the

relationship is very good they've stopped the sending of missiles

including ballistic missiles they're destroying their engine site they're

blowing it up they've already blown up one of their big test sites in fact it

was actually four of their big test sites and the big thing is it will be a

total depolarization which is already starting taking place and I understand

Mike that they've already sent back or in the process of sending back the

remains of our great heroes who died in North Korea during the war and that's

already in the process of coming back Plus as you all know very well we got

back our hostages are three hostages or right now living very happily with their

families and we're very happy about that so we've made tremendous progress with

respect to North Korea even since I last spoke to you what we agreed to do is

have a meeting I know that some of the media says oh they agreed to meet well

and anybody would have agreed to meet and it would not have been possible for

past administrations to have met in the way that we've met this was an

incredible important meeting all over Asia they're in love with the United

States because what we've done and Japan I spoke to Prime Minister Abbey and he

was so thrilled he doesn't have Rockets going over Japan that makes them very

happy general you know that right he's very thrilled not to see rockets going

over Japan there were plenty of them sent right over Japan and he said I want

to thank you because what you've done is incredible there are no more rockets

going and there's no thought of it now things can change I said it last night

at a speech things can change personalities can change maybe end up

with conflict maybe you don't but the relationship that mike has and I have

with Chairman Kim and his group is a very good one very strong one and I

think it's going to lead to tremendous success but the document we signed if

people actually read it to the public you'd see number one statement we will

immediately begin total D nuclearization of North Korea nobody thought that would

be possible if you remember a year and a half ago when Mike and I came into

office and when this group came into office everybody was talking about

there's gonna be a war gonna be a war with North Korea during the Obama years

it's all I heard about war with North Korea you have 28 million people 30

miles away from the border where they have thousands of massive they call them

cannons and that's what they are they're bigger than howitzers and they're all

aimed at Seoul Seoul has 28 million people and it would be not a catastrophe

of a hundred thousand people or 200,000 like I'd read from you this is a this

could have been a catastrophe at 30 40 50 million people and I think we're very

close to having that situation so if we've had some very good news even over

the last couple of days they want to get it done we want to get it done and we're

moving quickly so North Korea has been an incredible experience for me and I

we're gonna help them also get back on track

we think that it has tremendous potential

chairman Kim thinks it has tremendous potential I want to also thank as you

know Prime Minister Robby I want to thank President moon from South Korea

he's been terrific he's been really moving it along and pushing as hard as

they can but without the United States had had no chance whatsoever I also

wanted to thank President Xi of China because the border was very strong

during a very critical period unfortunately the border is getting a

little bit weaker now but that's okay and that's okay but we have to get them

to keep it tough but I do want to thank President Xi of China so with all of

that we're having tremendous numbers tremendous economic success I think

we're having the most successful period of time economically perhaps in our

country's history GDP numbers have been great but the ones that are coming out

I'm really looking forward to seeing that I think you're gonna see numbers I

just see the activity I see the business yesterday and last evening was really

that was an incredible evening that we spent that was to me

just an incredible evening a lot of you were there I see a lot of the faces a

lot of you were there and the least 15,000 people couldn't get into the

arena and the arena was big it held nine thousand people but sadly 15,000 people

couldn't get into the arena but it was a very special evening and people had a

good time but they also heard a lot so I want to thank everybody very much Mick

Mulvaney is going to be giving a little report you can do it in front of the

media would the media like to hear Mick Mulvaney x' report or would you find it

extraordinarily boring and ever not fit for camera did you like to hear

it yeah it'll be good and why don't we do this

we'll say grace afterwards Mike and will will do Mick and then we'll say grace

you don't necessarily have to do that or further the cameras okay Mick go ahead

it was not really hard to make that's not boring president mr. president a lot

of folks around this table have worked a long time almost since you took over to

show you what to get you where you are today at this meeting I call this the

drain the swamp cabinet meeting I know we talked about that during the campaign

you've talked about it since you've been here today is we were introducing the

actual actions that follow up on those words to show people what we meant when

we said drain the swamp later on after the press leaves you'll hear from Andrew

Brent Berg and mr. McMahon and I think the target on the executive order

dealing with civil service reform what I want to talk about is the government

reorganization very very briefly when we got into this one of the things we

learned was that it's been almost a hundred years since anybody really

reorganized the government at this type of scale it's been since FDR and his new

deal to where he changed the way the government work and we haven't changed

it very much since then which means we're almost 20% into the 21st century

but we're still dealing with a government that is from the early 20th

century this leads mr. president to some bizarre

results in fact the stories you don't know where to start right now because of

the Byzantine nature of the way that we regulate in this in this in this country

if you have a cheese pizza you make a cheese pizza that is governed by the

United States Department of Agriculture no the other way around I always get

these backwards if you make a cheese pizza it's governed by the Food and Drug

Administration if you put a pepperoni on it that's governed by the USDA if you

have a chicken it's governed by the USDA if that chicken lays an egg it's covered

by the FDA but if you break the egg and make an omelet

that is now by the USDA if you have an open-faced

roast beef sandwich that's one or the other but you put put the bread on top

of it it's the other one a hot dog the hot dog meat is governed

by one you put it in a bun it's governed by another one of my favorites if you

have any saltwater fish you have a salmon and it's in the ocean it's

governed by the Department of Commerce once it swims upriver it's governed by

the Department of Interior and to get there it has to go up a fish ladder

governed by the US Army Corps of Engineers this is stupid

this is just this makes no sense a long time ago when I was 15 years old I

worked in a freezer for a guy that made frozen pizzas right put yourself in that

guy's business and one day he's making cheese pizzas and then the afternoon

he's gonna make pepperoni he's got an entirely different federal agency to

deal with an entirely different process it's not done it just simply doesn't

make sense so we're gonna try and fix it I want to go through a couple of

examples today I got to sort of step aside to go over just one or two a

couple of them that made the press we talked about this later about the

Department of Education and the Department of Labor being merged we

think that makes tremendous sense because what are they both doing they're

doing the same thing they're trying to get people ready for the workforce

sometimes that's education sometimes it's vocational training some

but we're all doing the same thing so why not put them in the same place this

goes back to the work that I think Ivanka did very early on on job training

when we learned that we had in fact we don't even know how many jobs training

programs we have some people think there's 40 some of the others 46 some of

you think is 47 we get it down to 16 and we put it all in one place so that if

you're not happy or the next president is not happy with the way it's going you

don't have right now 16 different people around this table have workforce

training programs in their agencies if something is going wrong you're gonna

come to me and say Nick why aren't you doing around with oh no no that's that's

got through its falta that's that's Betsy DeVos this fall when everybody's

in charge nobody's in charge and we're solving

that by putting ed and labor together and making them responsible and them

you know two things want to talk about to my favorites and examples of how we

think we can improve things everybody Democrats Republicans local

governments state government you me from the private sector have horror stories

about the US Army Corps of Engineers they perform some absolutely critical

functions mr. president there's no doubt about it but over the course of the last

century their role has continued to creep and

creep and creep and we can do better so the proposal today you'll see make some

important changes to the Army Corps of Engineers the thing that has written

stuff there's really defense and there is there's still things that a Army

Corps does that is defense they stay there and they should the things the

Army Corps does it actually help defend the nation will stay where they belong

we'll just ask the Department of Defense but we did with the environment a lot of

what they do deals with the environment they deal with environmental mitigation

and so forth that goes over the Department of the Interior because

you're all really good at that similarly ports deepwater ports our lock system

that's that's not it used to be a military thing a hundred years ago now

it's Elaine Chao at Department of Transportation because it's a

transportation I mean if we think it's a much more efficient layout and it ties

in with what you talked about how about a streamline our permitting process and

goes along with what mr. Xing Keys doing at the DOI to try and centralize so

there's one point of contact you want to get a permit you go to one federal

agency this is going to help that down here we've talked a little bit about

that that one of food safety then right now it's an FDA USDA a couple in places

we've move all that into the USDA why because they're really good at it it's

not to say the FDA isn't but wouldn't it be nice to have one place where people

can go to to get answers to get results to get from them all right

US - First Lady Melania Trump boards flight with a rain jacket written "I really don't care, do U?" - Duration: 0:23.

But it was what the First Lady was wearing

when boarding her flight

that stunned observers.

A rain jacket that read:

"I really don't care, do U?"

her spokesperson said it was "just a jacket"

but her husband then tweeted

that the fashion statement wasn't a mistake,

saying it was aimed at the "fake news media".

He added that Melania had learned how dishonest they were.
