Guests In Awe At State Dinner, Trump Unveils Early Birthday Present For Melania.

On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump and his wife Melania welcomed French President

Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte to the White House for an opulent state dinner meticulously

planned by the first lady.

Guests who were lucky enough to be invited to the elegant affair were in awe.

Shortly after the event, the president unveiled an early birthday present for Melania.

Fifteen months into the Trump administration, the president and first lady threw their first

state dinner.

The pressure was on as reporters waited anxiously to see what Melania had in store, and, boy,

did she ever deliver!

Every detail was attended to with the utmost care, and the evening went off without a hitch

thanks to "months of preparations" by the first lady and her team.

According to National Public Radio, Tuesday night's menu paid tribute to American culinary

traditions with "nuances of French influences."

It began with a course of goat cheese gateau, tomato jam, buttermilk biscuits, and greens

from the White House kitchen garden.

The main course included rack of spring lamb, cipollini soubise, and Carolina gold rice

jambalaya.

To finish it off, the Macrons were treated to a nectarine tart with crème fraîche ice

cream.

The exquisite meal was served on both the Clinton and George W. Bush china, which features

a green color palette that complemented the green flowers featured in the dining room.

There were more than 1,200 branches of cherry blossom, all homegrown in the United States,

and more than 2,500 stems of white sweet peas, along with 1,000 stems of white lilac.

To top it all off, the Kennedy Center's Washington National Opera performed. The magic

of the evening and the countless hours of hard work required to pull it all off were

not lost on President Trump, who took to Twitter on Wednesday to praise his wife for the "spectacular

job" she did preparing his administration's first state dinner, according to Washington

Examiner.

"[Melania] did a spectacular job hosting the President of France EmmanuelMacron and

his wife Brigitte.

Every detail was done to perfection.

The State Dining Room never looked more beautiful, and Washington is abuzz over what an incredible

job Melania did," he wrote.President Donald Trump seems to be making a habit of offering

his wife glowing praise ahead of her 48th birthday on Thursday.

He did the same in an email to the Make America Great Again Committee, calling the first lady

as his "rock" and "foundation."

"Family is one of life's most wonderful treasures, and serving as America's First

Family has been a truly great privilege!" wrote Trump.

"This month, our family is looking forward to a very special day.

Please join us in celebrating the first lady and my beautiful, kind-hearted and exceptional

wife Melania's birthday by signing her card.

Melania is my rock and foundation, and I wouldn't be the man I am today without her by my side.

She's the cornerstone of our family, and an incredible mother to our son, Barron.

I'm so proud of her accomplishments, and I hope you'll wish her well on her special

day."

The president's choice of words regarding his lovely wife could not have been more accurate

— she has been a "rock," even in the face of a media and Democratic Party both

working overtime to destroy her marriage.

The first lady has been put through the ringer, with ex-adult film stars alleging to have

carried out affairs with her husband in the weeks after she gave birth to their son Barron,

and still, Melania has never once lowered herself to the level of the media trolls trying

to defame her.Instead, she has pulled up her bootstraps and attended to her job as the

first lady.

The evidence of her hard work was apparent on Tuesday night as she threw a flawless state

dinner in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte.

We have been blessed beyond measure with such a gracious and classy first lady, and as her

birthday approaches, we look forward to wishing her well!

Trump's upside-down diplomacy brings modest expectations to North Korea summits - Duration: 4:20.

In the last run-up to our special pre-summit reports from the perspective from stakeholder

nations,... today we turn to the U.S., who await their own North Korea summit expected

to come in June.

It's still unclear what to expect from the Trump-Kim meeting, but a successful inter-Korean

summit will have to come first.

Kwon Jang-ho brings us this report from the U.S.

When South Korea's National Security Advisor visited the White House in early March few

anticipated what would happen next.

"He expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible.

President Trump appreciated the briefing and said he would meet Kim Jong-un by May"

"When President Trump suddenly accepted Kim Jong-un's invitation to meet, Washington was

caught off guard.

There's been some time for the move to be digested, but opinions and hopes for the U.S.-North

Korea summit remain mixed."

Trump's seemingly unilateral decision to hold talks as soon as possible has turned the traditional

order of diplomacy upside down.

The extensive negotiations that normally take place before leaders meet has been cut short

due to lack of time.

"There is very little that I think those of us who have been in the world of diplomacy

would call normal about the upcoming meeting...

I find it hard to believe they can go far down the road in substance.

There may be general agreement but general agreement in the past between the DPRK and

the USA hasn't been such a terrific idea, without details laid on and the verification

and the monitoring laid on with those details."

However, there are some who argue that it could prove to be the spark that moves things

forward.

"It is the opposite pattern of the way that diplomatic negotiations are normally conducted.

However there is a tradition, especially in Asia, of the sort of big men getting together,

having a cup of tea, sort of sorting things out and leaving the details to their subordinates.

That's what I see from these two individuals."

"Everyone and their cousin would say do it the other way around, have all the diplomats

first and the summit is the cherry on the top, the summit meeting the two leaders comes

last.

On the other hand, we've been doing it that way for 65 years and nothing has changed on

the Peninsula."

For a successful meeting, experts agree that South Korea has a crucial role to play in

its own summit with the North.

"One hopes that the South Koreans are able to make some progress in setting the stage

for a US-DPRK discussion on denuclearization.

And it would be great if there was a direct reference to denuclearization as part of what

President Moon and Kim Jong un are able to agree upon."

"The inter-Korean process is and needs to be central if we're going to get someplace.

And one of the things that I actually find most significant and hopefully encouraging

about what's going on now is that the Republic of Korea has played such an important role

as a catalyst and as a shaper."

With so many uncertainties, expectations for the U.S.-North Korea summit remain modest.

But considering the tensions last year, North Korea watchers for now are breathing a sigh

of relief, and hoping it can pave the way for progress in the future.

"We don't want to be too optimistic here.

It's not like tomorrow North Korea is going to denuclearize and open up to trade and we'll

have peace on the peninsula.

Right.

That's not going to happen.

So don't set it up as the goal.

But can we move the needle in the direction of less conflict?

Absolutely.

And I think that will count as success."

"The very least, we want to move further away from the initiation of hostilities.

If we can get through these two summits, we can get improvement in the atmosphere and

start a process we would be doing very well."

Michael.

Brian: We know.

Let me tell you Michael is in

business as I understand it.

I don't know his business but

this doesn't have to do with me.

Michael is a businessman.

He has got a business.

He also practices law.

I would say probably the big

thing is his business and

they're looking something having

to do with his business.

I have nothing to do with his

business I can tell you.

He is a good guy --

Brian: Isn't his business your

attorney, Mr. President?

>> I have many attorneys.

I have attorneys, sadly I have

so many attorneys you wouldn't

even believe it.

But Michael is somebody --

Steve: Mr. President, how much

of your legal work was handled

by Michael Cohen?

>> A percentage of my overall

legal work, a tiny, tiny little

fraction but Michael would

JUST IN Trump Makes Shocking Announcement After His Attorney's Office Is Raided - Duration: 12:02.

JUST IN: Trump Makes Shocking Announcement After His Attorney's Office Is Raided

President Donald Trump made a surprising announcement on Tuesday just one day after the FBI raided

the office of his attorney, Michael Cohen.

Daily Mail reported that Trump just announced he is canceling his upcoming trip to Latin

America so that he can "oversee the American response" to the Syrian chemical weapons

attack.

The White House said in a statement that Trump will be sending Vice President Mike Pence

in his place to attend the Summit of the Americas in Peru and to Colombia.

"President Trump will not attend the 8th Summit of the Americas in Lima, Peru or travel

to Bogota, Colombia as originally scheduled," the statement read.

"At the President's request, the Vice President will travel in his stead.

The President will remain in the United States to oversee the American response to Syria

and to monitor developments around the world."

This means that Trump will not be meeting with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto,

who told Trump in a speech last week to quit blaming Mexico for the United States' illegal

immigration issues.

The two leaders have long feuded over Mexico's refusal to pay for the U.S. president's

desired border wall.

This came hours after Trump sounded off to blast the FBI for raiding Cohen's office.

"They raid an office of a personal attorney early in the morning and I think it's a

disgrace," Trump said of the raid on Cohen's office, a move he referred to as "an attack

on our country and what we all stand for."

Trump called White House Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigators "the most conflicted

group of people I have ever seen."

"This is the most biased group of people.

These people have the biggest conflicts of interest I've ever seen.

Democrats all, just about all," Trump said.

"They're not looking at the other side — Hillary Clinton… all of the crimes that

were committed, all of the things that happened that everybody is very angry about from the

Republican side and the independent side.

They only keep looking at us."

Trump says Cohen represented him in Daniels deal - Duration: 0:37.

President Donald Trump seems to have acknowledged that his personal lawyer Michael Cohen represented

him in a deal involving adult film star Stormy Daniels.

During a Thursday interview with Fox News, Trump said Cohen represented him in what Trump

called the "crazy Stormy Daniels deal."

Earlier this month, Trump told reporters he didn't know anything about the $130,000 payment

made to Daniels just before Election Day in 2016.

Cohen paid Clifford just before the election.

Daniels and her legal team allege that money was to keep her quiet about an affair she

claims she had with Trump in 2006.

Comey Must Be Worried Sick After Trump Reveals Truth About Special Counsel - Duration: 12:44.

Comey Must Be Worried Sick After Trump Reveals Truth About Special Counsel

Former FBI Director J

Breitbart reports:

President Donald Trump speculated about the nature of the Russia special counsel on Friday,

pointing out that it was the result of an illegal leak to the media.

"James Comey illegally leaked classified documents to the press in order to generate

a Special Council?" Trump asked on Twitter.

"Therefore, the Special Council was established based on an illegal act?"

Trump made his comments after news broke that the Justice Department inspector general was

investigating if Comey leaked classified information by giving a friend memos of his conversations

with the president.

Trump raised questions about Comey's behavior, but the investigation continues.

"Really, does everybody know what that means?" he wrote on Twitter, suggesting that the entire

special counsel investigation was fraudulent:

ames Comey must have surely thought this would be the best and most lucrative week of his

life.

While the former is probably true, there's no doubt at this point that this is most certainly

not the best week he's ever lived.

From leaking classified information to potentially illegal special counsels?

Things are not looking up

Big Jim.

Pelosi and Schumer Pissed! Trump Only Invited 1 Democrat To State Dinner With France - Duration: 3:48.

Pelosi and Schumer Pissed! Trump Only Invited 1 Democrat To State Dinner With France.

It appears that Democratic leaders in Congress were left off the guest list for President

Donald Trump's first state dinner at the White House on Tuesday.

Only one Democratic politician was invited, and he was not a member of Congress.

Now, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are furious.

On Tuesday evening in Washington, DC, fifteen months into the Trump administration, First

Lady Melania Trump threw her first state dinner in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron

and his wife Brigitte.

It was a meticulously planned affair with a menu meant to pay tribute to American culinary

traditions with "nuances of French influences."

The intricate meal was served on both the Clinton and George W. Bush china, which features

a green color palette that complemented the green flowers featured in the dining room.

There were more than 1,200 branches of cherry blossom, all homegrown in the United States,

and more than 2,500 stems of white sweet peas.

The Kennedy Center's Washington National Opera performed.

And only one Democrat was invited.

On Monday, representatives for the top four Democratic leaders in Congress Senate Minority

Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi

and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer told CNN, that their offices did not receive an invitation

to the state dinner with the French president.

CNN then reached out to the White House for confirmation that no congressional Democrats

had been invited to dine with the French president, but they did not receive a response.

On Tuesday, though, as attendees began to arrive at the White House, the Clinton News

Network got its answer.

It was true the Trumps had left every single congressional Democrat off the guest list.

They had, however, invited one member of the opposing party: Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards.

According to Daily Mail, it is custom to invite Louisiana politicians to state dinners with

France because of the state's Cajun-French roots, and so the governor and his wife Donna

were in attendance.

According to WGNO, while it's not common for presidents to invite large swaths of members

of the opposing party to state dinners, past presidents have invited a few prominent names

because of their work on issues related to the guest of honor, or because the White House

was courting them to support an agenda item.

In February 2014, then-President Barack Obama hosted then-French President Francois Hollande

for a state dinner, and invited a few members of the opposing party, including Republican

Rep. Eric Cantor, who was the House Majority Leader at the time.

Republican Reps. Paul Ryan, Harold Rogers of Kentucky, and Ed Royce of California also

attended, along with Republican Gov. Bill Haslam of Tennessee.

The choice to shun top Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, at Tuesday night's

opulent state dinner speaks volumes about the priorities of the Trump administration.

Donald and Melania Trump care about tradition.

This is why Gov. John Bel Edwards was invited.

However, the president and his lovely wife surely felt they could do without the drama

other Democrats would have brought to the evening.

After all, we have seen the way Pelosi and her ilk have acted when they are invited to

attend a highly-publicized government function.

Just look at the stunt she pulled during President Trump's State of the Union address.

She and her buddy Chuck certainly were not missed on Tuesday.
