President Trump stopped by Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Thursday and presented a

wounded soldier the Purple Heart during his visit.

�One of the most powerful moments of my life watching @POTUS give the Purple Heart

to this American Hero.� White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted Thursday.

�Amazed by the strength and resilience of the men and women in our Armed Forces.�

White House social media director Dan Scavino shared video.

The soldier was identified as 1st Lt. Victor Prato from the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion.

He was injured last month during a deployment in Afghanistan, after he was involved with

a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device blast and motor vehicle rollover.

He encountered multiple soft tissue injuries as a result.

He is originally from Somers, N.Y., and has served for two years in the Army, according

to Sanders.

The Purple Heart is the nation�s oldest military award and is delivered to members

of the military who encountered injuries or were killed in action.

Trump visited the military hospital complex in Bethesda, Md., ahead of the Christmas holiday

to meet with injured or ill service members from all branches of the military.

Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence made a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Thursday

to meet with Afghan leaders and U.S. troops stationed overseas.

been repealed.

Trump said, �The individual mandate is being repealed.

When the individual mandate is being repealed that means Obamacare is being repealed because

they get their money from the individual mandate.

So the individual mandate is being repealed.

So in this bill not only do we have massive tax cuts and tax reform, we have essentially

repealed Obamacare.

And we�ll come up with something that will be much better.

Whether it�s block grants or whether it�s taking what we have and doing something terrific.

But Obamacare has been repealed in this bill.�

Kim Jong-un's regime lashed out after the President announced a new national security strategy to deal with the state's missile programme.

The hermit kingdom branded the strategy a "criminal document" and claimed the US was trying to stifle our country" by turning the entire Korean peninsula into an American outpost.

A foreign ministry spokesman said: "This has fully revealed that 'America first policy' which the gang of Trump is crying out loudly about is nothing but the proclamation of aggression aimed at holding sway over the world according to its taste and at its own free will.".

In the new strategy, announced on Monday, the US said Washington had to take on and could use "overwhelming force". It comes amid claims the US is considering a military attack against the North to put a stop to Kim's nuclear ambitions.

With more missile launches expected in the new year, the White House has reportedly "dramatically" stepped up plans for a military solution. The US is considering destroying one of North Korea's missile launch sites and could also target its weapons stockpiles.

Military action would be designed to warn the North Korean regime that the US is serious about putting an end to Pyongyang's weapons programme.

One former US security official told the Telegraph this week: "The Pentagon is trying to find options that would allow them to punch the North Koreans in the nose, get their attention and show that we're serious." The US has been gradually building up its military presence over recent months.

And it now appears Washington could call upon its assets in the region to launch a debilitating attack on the regime.  It is thought that by attacking the missile test site or weapons stockpiles, the loss of life would be minimised while forcing Kim to negotiate.

The UN Security Council is due to vote today on a US-drafted resolution to toughen sanctions on the regime in response to its latest intercontinental ballistic missile launch.

It seeks to ban nearly 90 percent of refined petroleum exports to Pyongyang by capping them at 500,000 barrels a year and demand the repatriation of North Koreans working abroad within 12 months.

Te resolution would also cap crude oil supplies to North Korea at four million barrels a year, as well as ban a number of North Korean exports such as machinery, lumber, and other products and resources.

Chinese and Russian support would be crucial for any new sanctions to go ahead.

Top FBI official linked to reporter who broke Trump dossier story

James Baker, the FBI's recently reassigned general counsel, was in touch with David Corn

of Mother Jones in the fall of 2016, GOP sources said.

House Republicans are investigating contact between the FBI's top lawyer and a Mother

Jones reporter in the weeks before the left-leaning outlet broke the first news story about the

existence of a disputed dossier alleging ties between President Donald Trump and the Kremlin,

according to two congressional GOP sources who described documents linking the two men.

The GOP sources said the documents � made available recently to lawmakers by the Department

of Justice � revealed that James Baker, the FBI's general counsel, communicated with

Mother Jones reporter David Corn in the weeks leading up to the November 2016 election.

Corn was the first to report the existence of the dossier on Oct. 31 and that it was

compiled by a former high-level western spy.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Baker had been reassigned within the FBI,

though the reason for the move was unclear.

Corn denied that Baker was a source for his story on the dossier.

"I'm not going to discuss my sources.

But in order to prevent the dissemination of inaccurate information, I will say that

James Baker was not my source for this story," he said in a statement to POLITICO.

The congressional sources said there's no conclusive evidence that Baker aided Corn's

reporting or acted as a source.

But Republicans are pointing to the connection to cast suspicion about whether FBI officials

had a hand in directing the details of the dossier to reporters, and the two sources

said they expect it to be a focus of GOP investigators' upcoming lines of inquiry.

Baker's connection to Corn comes as Republicans in Congress have been raising questions about

the FBI's handling of the now-famous Steele dossier, named for Christoper Steele, the

British former intelligence agent subsequently identified as the author of the document.

The FBI declined to comment on the matter.

Corn's story indicated direct contact with Steele: "[A] former senior intelligence officer

for a Western country who specialized in Russian counterintelligence tells Mother Jones that

in recent months he provided the bureau with memos, based on his recent interactions with

Russian sources, contending the Russian government has for years tried to co-opt and assist Trump

� and that the FBI requested more information from him," he reported.

Corn then added that a "senior U.S. government official not involved in this case but familiar

with the former spy," told him that the agent "has been a credible source with a proven

record of providing reliable, sensitive, and important information to the U.S. government."

The news of Baker's reassignment came just days after congressional Republicans began

asking questions about his contacts with media.

Baker was on Capitol Hill on Tuesday as counsel for Andrew McCabe, deputy director of the

FBI, who testified to the House Intelligence Committee in the panel's ongoing Russia probe.

During the closed-door session, Republicans grilled McCabe about who at the department

was authorized to talk to the media.

One Republican at Tuesday's intelligence committee interview with McCabe laid out a "hypothetical"

example of the FBI's general counsel meeting with a Mother Jones reporter.

McCabe, according to a source familiar with the exchange, said such a meeting would be

unauthorized, according to the source.

Sources familiar with the congressional investigations said Baker did not return Thursday when McCabe

came back to testify before the Judiciary and Oversight Committees in their related

inquiries.

It seems like the day so many of us law-abiding American Citizens have been waiting for since

the 80's has now come.

It looks like President Trump, along with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, are making

good on their promise to make America and her citizens first again.

We are now getting reports that the Los Angeles Police Department has been denied $3 Million

in federal aid for "law enforcement" purposes.

Although there has been no official announcement as to why this funding has been denied it

likely has something to do with Los Angeles' lawless so-called "sanctuary city" status

on harboring illegal aliens.

This year, L.A. officials applied for more than $3 million in federal funding to help

bring the same program to Harvard Park, a South L.A. neighborhood scarred by violence.

The request was denied.

The U.S. Department of Justice hasn't offered the LAPD an explanation of why the department

didn't receive any of the $98 million in grants recently awarded to scores of law enforcement

agencies across the nation.

A spokesman for the federal agency declined to comment when asked by The Times last week.

But after the Trump administration's repeated threats to withhold federal money from cities

that don't cooperate with its immigration crackdown, some LAPD officials said they believe

the move was retaliatory — and a troubling sign of what could come.

Steve Soboroff, president of the civilian Police Commission that oversees the LAPD,

said that he believes the Justice Department denied the funding request because of the

LAPD's well-publicized, hands-off approach to immigration enforcement.

Soboroff said he worries future funding may also be at risk.

"Community policing is what policing's all about.

Militaristic policing, immigrant harassment is not," he said.

"By ignoring that, or prioritizing it beneath their issue of sanctuary cities and cooperation

with ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] — the priorities are wrong."

"If this is the tip of the iceberg, we're going to set back law enforcement and policing

and public safety by decades," he added.

The LAPD had planned to use the money to hire 25 officers for the community policing program

in Harvard Park, one of the city's deadliest neighborhoods.

The roughly half-mile area saw eight homicides in 2016, nearly triple the number from the

year before.

So far this year, six people have been killed.

Los Angeles mayor, Eric Garcetti, has openly defied Trump and been a vocal opponent of

the #MAGA agenda.

A mic.com article on Garcetti features such interludes as:

"We will defend any undocumented worker who's going to be deported," he said flatly

in a recent interview.

The words are backed up in deed: In December, Los Angeles unveiled an ambitious $10-million

fund to provide legal counsel to residents facing deportation.

Los Angeles and Orange counties, after all, are home to 1 million undocumented immigrants,

or nearly 10% of all undocumented immigrants nationwide.

Los Angeles is also one of the major cities that has been targeted by ICE raids in the

aftermath of the election.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell has said he's afraid of losing $132 Million

over the next three years because of his county's harboring of illegal aliens.

Citing an August LA Daily News article:

On Thursday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions sent letters to four cities — including

two in California — threatening to deny federal crime-fighting aid if the cities don't

step up efforts to help detain and deport people living in the country illegally.

The targeted cities — which have all struggled with crime — are Stockton, San Bernardino,

Baltimore and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

All expressed interest in the Justice Department's new Public Safety Partnership, federal officials

said.

The program provides assistance from federal agents, analysts and technology to find solutions

to crime.

While the Justice Department did not call out any communities in L.A. County in its

latest move to punish so-called sanctuary cities, McDonnell has said the county's

limited cooperation with federal immigration officers strikes a necessary balance between

public safety and public trust.

The bulk of federal grant funds that McDonnell fears could ultimately be in question — $105

million of the $132 million — would come from DHS for the continued development of

a system to enhance radio and broadband communication for police, firefighters, paramedics and other

emergency responders in the county.

Keep in mind Los Angeles is also the founding city of the most vicious gang ever known to

man, MS-13.

The LAPD has watched in silence while the city has been overrun by gangs, and either

can't or doesn't want to do anything about it.

They don't need that money until the day they start doing their job.

Going after law abiding gun owners isn't part of their job, their job is to protect

American Citizens living in their city.

This is how it works here in my home state of California.

An illegal Alien breaks the law by sneaking into our country to commit crimes, procreate,

and work for peanuts while sponging off the already overburdened taxpayers.

Meanwhile, the Marxist politicians in this looney state are surprised when they learn

most Californians don't agree with the sanctuary state policy but sadly are forced to deal

with it because for all intent and purposes we don't have a Republican party in this

state.

The GOP has been intent on giving us Democrat-light candidates and by the time election day comes,

there is no point in even voting because both candidates are practically

the same.
